it's all about amy

“Why does the les mis fandom obsess over les amis when they have no content and aren’t even the main characters???”

i mean idk about you but i can relate much more to young people suffering at the hands of society than i can about an old dude who yanked a child from the woods and carries wigs in his pockets

I made myself a Derp Villain!Deku (or Yandere!Deku?) for my profile pic on IG, in a similar vein to my Derp YYS pic on here lolol.

You were asking for a peraltiago prompt- how about Amy trying to teach Jake Spanish?

it took twenty years to get around to this, & it’s not exactly the prompt, but here ya go!

The first time Jake encounters the Santiago clan, he’s just come off of his second year as Amy’s official partner at the Nine-Nine, and they’ve finally got into a comfortable kind of cadence, filled to the brim with half-hearted bickering and late-night Thai food runs—which they established after their first kidnapping case together that lasted for six days and thankfully ended with the hostage’s life intact. And it’s one of those weeks, where they’re both casing a smaller drug ring, and neither have been anywhere but the small hotel room they’re using as their base and the precinct in over sixty-seven hours.

It’s right in the middle of that third afternoon as they’re poring over an old case file sitting shoulder to shoulder at her desk (only because, frankly, his is covered in candy bar wrappers and crumbs) and Amy’s leaning into him to see one of the pictures better and she smells faintly of lemons and maybe something else which is crazy because he doesn’t remember the last time either of them had the chance to shower, when there’s a call of “Aimelis!”

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Act 28

Could you say no to that face?

During the last few days I’ve been thinking about the last episode of Sailor Moon Crystal. Well, second to last, really, since I haven’t watched Rei’s episode yet. That’s gonna happen this coming Friday. Maybe. We’ll see.

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about Ami’s episode and especially this moment

which, at the time had me quite baffled, because Luna seemed to just have known that Usagi would ask Ami to come to the arcade with her, that she would get her to play the Sailor V game and that Ami would ultimately beat the high score or the entire game. And not just that; Luna must’ve also known that Usagi would then get jealous of Ami’s “price and start violently shaking the arcade machine to get one, too. Is that cat secretly in contact with Pluto? Or just a master manipulator?

Now, I’ve had some time to think on it, however, and I’ve realised just how much I love how Ami receiving the pen played out in Crystal as opposed to in the 90’s anime (I haven’t read the manga yet, so I don’t know how it happened there) and how, I think, this might influence how Crystal Ami sees her transformation pen compared to how Classic Ami sees it. Sure, both of them associate it with Usagi (and the other senshi) in that they received it shortly after meeting her and use it to transform into Sailor Mercury and fight side by side with her.

However, what I think makes the difference is the situation they were in when they got it. Classic Ami gets it from Luna during the confrontation with Youma Totally-Not-Ominous Teacher, pretty much at the last possibly moment before the youma can hack her into pieces. She doesn’t really have time to think on it and what it means or to even wonder how it was that Luna is actually talking to her. She takes it, says “Mercury Power, Make Up” and, boom, Sailor Mercury. To her, from the very first moment on, it’s mainly a tool to help her fight their enemies.

Now, the situation is completely different for Crystal Mercury. There are no murderous youma, life-threatening situations and talking cats around when she gets it. Instead, she wins it as a price after beating a video game. That she only plays (and enjoys because she starts smiling while playing), because this nice girl that she’s seen at school many times before and has always wanted to talk to, but never dared to, actually started talking to her a few hours ago and wanted her to come to the arcade with her. Crystal Ami is having a pretty awesome day and the pen was just the icing of the cake to her. The next time we see her, Ami uses the pen to write something down, because, as she says, she’ll remember it better when she uses this particular pen. It’s already special to her - even without the Mercury part, which she isn’t even aware of - because she associates it with that fun day at the arcade she’s had with her new friend Usagi. And I think that this day will always be something that Crystal Ami remembers when reaching for the pen before going into battle.

When Minako makes the call for everyone to transform and Ami reaches into her jacket pocket for the pen, as her figures curl around the cold metal of the pen, she’ll feel Usagi’s arms around her and hear her say “Mizuno-san, you are awesome”, which will bring a smile to her face and will only want to make her fight harder to keep Usagi safe.
