Pairing: Dean x sister!Reader, Cas x Reader Word count: 325 Warnings: Angry!Dean
You winced as the door to the bunker slammed. You knew exactly who it was, and why they were pissed. “WHO THE HELL WRECKED MY BABY?!” Dean yelled. Oh, were you in for it.
“I’m sorry, Dean.” You told him when he walked in the kitchen.
He glared at you, and you felt about two inches tall. “Why the hell were you driving my car? Your boyfriend is a freakin’ ANGEL.” He pointed out, angry at his baby sister. While he was thankful that you were okay, he’d let you know that once he got to the bottom of this.
You shrugged. “I couldn’t get ahold of him and needed to make a run to the store.”
“SO YOU TOOK BABY?”
“What other car was I supposed to take, Dean?” You asked. It wasn’t like you had your own car.
His jaw clenched and his nose flared. He stormed out of the room, and you groaned, putting your head on the table.
“Is something the matter?” Cas asked, tilting his head to the side.
“NOW you show up?!” You ask, staring at him. He’d been busy the past month, so you hadn’t seen him. However, when you needed him, he promised to be there. After trying for a couple days to reach him, you gave up. You figured that he was too busy to come see you.
He looked confused. “Why are you angry with me?”
“Because Dean is mad at me!”
“I fail to see why Dean being angry with you…would make you angry with me…”
You groaned and put your face in your hands, wishing you could go back and not take his precious car.
“What the hell was so important that you couldn’t wait?!” Dean stormed back in, still riled up.
“I needed a damn pregnancy test, okay?” You shot back, glaring at him. As you sighed, and your face softened, you watched his expressions change. From anger, to confusion, to disbelief.
i know he’s “supposed” to be Mercy and im all for basically replacing her in the story with him, but i feel like the name Angelo kinda smacks too much of the whole “genderbend a character, give them a ‘masculine/feminine’ version of their name and go on ur merry way” and i think concept art Mercy deserves better than that?
but i’d like to stick w the whole “angel” gimmick bc OF COURSE and his hero name can still be Mercy, but i was thinking a good name for him would be Micah?
“You get to watch this family unit, over time, while they deal with the most epic mythical story lines– Heaven and Hell, and God, and Purgatory, and Angels and Demons.” - Didn’t watch it, but supposedly this was said by Misha.
The only problem I have with this is the last part. Why is Supernatural now about Angel, Demons, Heaven and Hell? That is not what I signed up for. Granted I was way late to the party, coming in at the end of S7, but still that’s not what Supernatural is suppose to be.
This is not the first time I’ve seen Supernatural sold as a story about Heaven & Hell, and it irks me so much. What happened to “Saving people, hunting things, the family business?” Now it’s religious wars?
It angers me more that this description is not wrong.
I suppose this makes for a good place to end this first session. A nice little breather between two story arcs, eh?
Yeah, well… Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying watching this, but… I’m not too sure about the liveblogging aspect. It’s… Redundant? I was excited about the mystery Third Angel, but the realization that it was just Kaworu (probably) took the wind out of my sails. I dunno, I just don’t know if this is worth doing. I already said everything I wanted to about NGE already.
For completion’s sake, I would like to finish this movie over the next few days. But I’ll have to chat with the folk on the Discord to see if the second and third Rebuilds are truly worth covering.
deal was simple; we’d get to ask him a couple of questions and he got
to ask us a couple of questions. A bit odd if you ask me. What could The
Devil possibly want to know from us? I couldn’t tell you.
“Is heaven real?” I asked.
“Yes,” he replied, his voice like dying embers in a fireplace, “and so is hell.”
This took forever oh my gosh. I already have no time to draw, and then my painting turned into a 3-part piece… what was I thinking?
Anyway, some Angel Phil and (normal?) Dan just hanging out. Their friendship is so strong that neither heaven nor earth can truly separate them. (Also in this drawing it’s not like Phil’s dead I imagined that he was born an angel or something. Don’t freak out, this isn’t supposed to be sad)
I like Mary. I think she's awesome. I don't see why she has to be evil.
Oh, boy, okay.
Listen you can like Mary all you want – I loved her too before the fucked up her entire story arc – but her entire arc was building up to be a villain, and a badass one that was going to go down with a fight.
I’m REALLY not trying to be pedantic here, Nonny, but asks like this force me to pull out receipts, all of which I’m sure you’re not going to read, because who likes to be proved wrong, but I digress. I always end up sounding more harsh than I am when all I want to do is educate you on my perspective and what the narrative is teaching us.
THAT’S Why she’s a villain. When a character kills the title character of a show, they are coded as the bad guy unless they do a redemption arc that actually is a redemption.
Mary had NO redemption arc AT ALL. Even in S4, Mary is STILL manipulating and emotionally abusing Sherlock and John against each other with her fucking creepy-assed DVDs and her belittling of John in T6T. She still runs off to go do her little assassin things and still lied and manipulated everyone. And I know the argument is going to come up, but Mary’s gunshot was NOT a redemption. A redemption arc has the ex-villain doing a good deed and being genuinely sorry for their past actions. Not ONCE Mary has ever apologized for any of the shit she put everyone through. All of it was a plan, especially if she had creepy DVDs made FAIRLY RECENTLY (you can tell because of the hair style) to send out to people. Also:
YOU ARE EVIL IF YOU ACTIVELY OR POSTHUMOUSLY TELL SOMEONE TO GO KILL THEMSELVES.
That and Mary’s entire death scene was RIDICULOUS and completely contradicted EVERY rule that was established in this universe only 2 episodes prior on how characters die.
Nonny, Mary’s character arc is one I have been passionate about for many years, even before I was a Johnlocker, because her character was fascinating to me, and helped me understand the psychology and make sense of events that were happening in my life at the time. Right up until TAB, Mary was being coded as the next Moriarty. For some reason or another, Mofftiss decided to turn her into an “assassin with an heart of gold” and failed spectacularly.
If Mary truly was good, she WOULD HAVE TOLD JOHN FROM THE BEGINNING WHO SHE WAS, OR AT LEAST TOLD SHERLOCK SHE NEEDED HELP. HLV would have not played out as it did. Instead deciding that killing Sherlock was her only option so that she could continue to manipulate John, since she knew he was most malleable when he was grieving Sherlock.
You can read Mary’s character however you want, I could care less… well okay apparently I do because of this reply… But please, seriously consider that what became of her character really made no goddamned sense to the narrative arc the built for her and quite frankly really lazy writing. Just because she is a woman, doesn’t mean that she is nice and sweet and not abusive. Excusing her of her brand of emotional abuse and manipulation is really sexist.
