I’m trying so hard to forget you. I just wish that you would leave my dreams and stop clouding my thoughts. But you can’t, because you didn’t choose to be in my thoughts and dreams, I imprinted you there. I held you captive in my mind, because that was the only place I could call you mine.
Heey I love your art! What are your top favorite 5 Nalu momentas?
thats really hard to choose oh my god! i love even when they are looking to each other but for you ill choose so
Number 5: Unlike the other scenes when Natsu threatens his enemies who are trying to hurt Lucy with his already well known quote “ Ill burn you to ash” This one is different. Natsu has already experienced how it is to loose Lucy so this time, he is angrier than other times, He points there “ It is still Lucy” No matter what happens to her, Lucy will always be Lucy for him. Even so, look at her face. After staying near his bed, worried about him dying, look how happy she is.. her smile here is precious
Number 4: Lucy sleeping near Natsu, She has been worried about his life and she didn’t move away from him one single second, no matter that Freed told her he will be okay and anyone else. Natsu had a lot of friends, each one doing his fights but it was Lucy staying near him all this time, like in the earlier chapters when she got naked to save his life.
Number 3: Lucy hugging Natsu from behind
She now does this quite often, but this one was a relief for her. She needed it, she wanted to thank him for everything he has done. I dont think i Can explain this that much, but i just love this moment
Number 2: Lucy jumping from the tower She chooses to jump, to have faith in Natsu. She knows that wherever she is, whatever she does, he will always be there protecting her, catching her from falling. I dont think she really heard his voice, but she says “ I am sure” she knows he will hear her, he will save her once more time. I loved how this scene was animated, because I love hearing Lucy screaming “ Natsuu” Aya really did put passion voicing that scene lol
And there he is, catching her right on time before she hits the ground.
Number 1: the last and my favorite: LUCY!
How I said before, he experienced already how it is to loose her, he doesn’t want to loose the most important person in his life, after loosing Igneel. He climbs onto her, protecting her with all of his body. He was faster than he was with Future Lucy, he was with all of his on her, taking the impact to protect her. You can see into his eyes all of his feelings: Agony, desperation. He would do everything for her, even sacrifice his own life
Mashima shows us how Nalu grew into a strong friendship-relationship. More than friends but less than lovers. Their time will come. Natsu cares the most about Lucy and Lucy cares the most about Natsu. Being put in face of one another`s death, it shows not once, but every time that each one of them would do absolutely everything for one another, giving their own lives for the other one.
The indifference of the world which Keats and Flaubert and other men of genius have found so hard to bear was in her case not indifference but hostility. The world did not say to her as it said to them, Write if you choose; it makes no difference to me. The world said with a guffaw, Write? What’s the good of your writing?
I lied. I’m not out of this relationship. I’m in. I’m so in, it’s humiliating because here I am, begging. Okay.. Here it is: Your choice? It’s simple. Her or me. And I’m sure she’s really great, but Derek.. I love you. In a really, really big pretend-to-like-your-taste-in-music, let-you-eat-the-last-piece-of-cheesecake, hold-a-radio-over-my-head-outside-your-window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me.
*This evening was GREAT! Sarah is so charming and charismatic in person and has the sillies laugh in the world! Here are some things she said and talked about:
*Quote of the night (in reference to being nervous her grandma reading about the three day sex session in ACOMAF):
“Apparently my grandma’s cool with the smut.” In fact, her grandma said that the graphic erotica was right up her alley!
*Chaol was going to be named Chaos but it was too much like Final Fantasy. He also has a much more difficult last name that even Sarah had a hard time pronouncing so her editor made her change it.
*If she had to be bound by a blood oath to one of her characters, she’d choose Rhys from ACOTAR and Manon from TOG. She said Manon would probably be a cruel mistress and that she (Sarah) would probably be kicked out or not qualify for the 13 and be shoved into the coven that does everyone’s cooking.
*She is a huge fan of Batman and Gotham so she’s super excited to write Cat Woman, who is huge feminist icon for her. It should come out August 2018. To get the gig, she was asked for 3-4 pg synopsis of what she’d write about and she sent in a 22 page synopsis bc of how excited she was.
*ACOTAR is still a trilogy, the Feysand arc will be done in book 3. New book information is super secret. They Start coming out 2018, it’s 2 new books and a novella. They may be spinoffs or prequel, depends on who makes it through book 3 (😱), which she has already finished writing.
*She is NOT emotionally prepared to write book 6 of TOG but already has the ending and last line in mind and has for years.
*If she was Lysandra she would shape shift into “God’s finest creature, the velociraptor.” She has a stuffed one named Sarah Jr. that she sleeps with every night. If she had to shift into a character, she’d shift into Manon with the iron teeth and nails to torment people on the street. Or she’d shift into Feyre and summon wings to fly or Amren bc she scares everyone.
*She writes and edits chronologically to get into the character heads and hearts to go on the journey with them. Hof was one of the hardest books bc Aelin’s headspace was so dark and sad. She went on the journey with Aelin back to the light.
*ACOTAR and TOG don’t exist in the same planet or solar system, but the same megaverse, they’re on different planes of existence and if you opened a Wyrdgate you could cross over. She doesn’t currently have plans to connect them, but “you never know.”
*Doesn’t know how involved she’ll be in the tv show, she doesn’t have anyone in mind for the actress. It will be on Hulu. Kierra Snyder who write for the 100 will be the writer and SJM loves the show the 100. Also Anna Foerster who directed the wedding episode and other great episodes of Outlander will be the director. Sarah is excited about how many women are involved, she is all about female empowerment!
*Had fun writing EOS bc so much paid off from all of the little ties she’d been putting into precious books, but on an emotional level, HoF she is proudest of bc of the hard journey both her and Aelin went through. She loves all books bc reads them so much during the writing and editing process.
*Also, the original cover of ToG, the one most people hate, called it the “cheerleader barbie” cover and was so happy they changed it!
She said a lot of the cool stuff too and I got to sign a copy of her first book that she brings with her to her events to have her audience sign. She is so amazing!
No one likes to fall. And few people would ever choose to drown. But in struggling through the ocean of this life, sometimes it’s so hard not to let the world in. Sometimes the ocean does enter us. The dunya does seep into our hearts.
And like the water that breaks the boat, when dunya enters, it shatters our heart. It shatters the boat. Recently, I was reminded of what a broken boat looks like, of what happens when you let everything in. I was reminded because I saw someone, just like me, fall in love too much with this life and seek to be filled by the creation. So the ocean of dunya shattered her boat, as it had shattered mine, and she fell out into the water. But she stayed down too long, and didn’t know how to come back up or what to hold on to.
So she drowned.
If you allow dunya to own your heart, like the ocean that owns the boat, it will take over. You will sink down to the depths of the sea. You will touch the ocean floor. And you will feel as though you were at your lowest point. Entrapped by your sins and the love of this life, you will feel broken. Surrounded by darkness. That’s the amazing thing about the floor of the ocean. No light reaches it.
But, this dark place is not the end. Remember that the darkness of night precedes the dawn. And as long as your heart still beats, this is not the death of it. You don’t have to die here. Sometimes, the ocean floor is only a stop on the journey. And it is when you are at this lowest point, that you are faced with a choice. You can stay there at the bottom, until you drown. Or you can gather pearls and rise back up—stronger from the swim, and richer from the jewels.
If you seek Him, God can raise you up, and replace the darkness of the ocean, with the light of His sun. He can transform what was once your greatest weakness into your greatest strength, and a means of growth, purification and redemption. Know that transformation sometimes begins with a fall. So never curse the fall. The ground is where humility lives. Take it. Learn it. Breathe it in. And then come back stronger, humbler and more aware of your need for Him. Come back having seen your own nothingness and His greatness. Know that if you have seen that Reality, you have seen much. For the one who is truly deceived is the one who sees his own self—but not Him. Deprived is the one who has never witnessed his own desperate need for God. Reliant on his own means, he forgets that the means, his own soul, and everything else in existence are His creation.
Seek God to bring you back up, for when He does, He will rebuild your ship. The heart that you thought was forever damaged will be mended. What was shattered will be whole again. Know that only He can do this. Seek Him.
And when He saves you, beg forgiveness for the fall, feel remorse over it—but not despair. As Ibn ul Qayyim (ra) has said: “Satan rejoiced when Adam (peace be upon him) came out of Paradise, but he did not know that when a diver sinks into the sea, he collects pearls and then rises again.”
There is a powerful and amazing thing about tawbah (repentance) and turning back to Allah (swt). We are told that it is a polish for the heart. What’s amazing about a polish is that it doesn’t just clean. It makes the object that is polished even shinier than it was before it got dirty. If you come back to God, seek His forgiveness, and refocus your life and heart on Him, you have the potential to be even richer than if you’d never fallen at all. Sometimes falling and coming back up gives you wisdom and humility that you may never otherwise have had. Ibn ul Qayyim (ra) writes:
“One of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) said: “Indeed a servant commits a sin by which he enters Paradise; and another does a good deed by which he enters the Fire.” It was asked: How is that? So he replied: “The one who committed the sin, constantly thinks about it; which causes him to fear it, regret it, weep over it and feel ashamed in front of his Lord—the Most High—due to it. He stands before Allah, broken-hearted and with his head lowered in humility. So this sin is more beneficial to him than doing many acts of obedience, since it caused him to have humility and humbleness—which leads to the servant’s happiness and success—to the extent that this sin becomes the cause for him entering Paradise. As for the doer of good, then he does not consider this good a favor from his Lord upon him. Rather, he becomes arrogant and amazed with himself, saying: I have achieved such and such, and such and such. So this further increases him in self-adulation, pride and arrogance—such that this becomes the cause for his destruction.”
Allah (swt) reminds us in the Qur’an to never lose hope. He says: “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against their souls [by sinning], despair not of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful,’” (39:53).
And so, this is a call to all those who have become enslaved by the tyranny of the self, imprisoned in the dungeon of the nafs (self) and desires. It is a call to all those who have entered the ocean of dunya, who have sunk into its depths, and become trapped by its crushing waves. Rise up. Rise up to the air, to the Real world above the prison of the ocean. Rise up to your freedom. Rise up and come back to life. Leave the death of your soul behind you. Your heart can still live and be stronger and purer than it ever was. Does not the polish of tawbah remake the heart even more beautiful than it was? Remove the veil you have sewn with your sins. Remove the veil between you and Life, between you and Freedom, between you and Light—between you and God. Remove the veil and rise up. Come back to yourself. Come back to where you began. Come back Home. Know that when all the other doors have shut in your face, there is One that is always open. Always. Seek it. Seek Him and He will guide you through the waves of the cruel ocean, into the mercy of the sun.
This world cannot break you—unless you give it permission. And it cannot own you unless you hand it the keys – unless you give it your heart. And so, if you have handed those keys to dunya for a while—take them back. This isn’t the End. You don’t have to die here. Reclaim your heart and place it with its rightful owner:
Yasmin Mogahed, excerpt from “Reclaim Your Heart”
I live in PA which is currently being hit hard with an opiate addiction epidemic. For whatever reason, I choose to comment on stories about it. They usually go something like this:
some lady: “I don’t want my tax dollars paying for nalaxone (a drug used to reverse opiate overdoses and save lives) just so a junkie can get high again!”
me: “what happened to compassion? would you really rather save money instead of helping save a life?”
some lady: “Compassion? They continue or even start knowing drugs are addictive. Not my problem or everyone else’s to pay.” (this is a direct quote actually)
me: “actually, many people get addicted to opiates after getting routine surgery or getting legally prescribed painkillers”
some lady: “
I don’t think we should have to pay for the drug to bring them back to life after they OD. Bill there insurance if they have it. Why should my tax $ have to pay for it” (another direct quote)
me: “It costs a lot less to provide nalaxone than clean up a dead body”
some lady: “yeah but *some unrelated topic that somehow relates and disproves everything I said*…”
like…. why do people purposefully shut out new information…. this is good information. it benefits you. you’re saving money and people aren’t dying, but you want it to be the bad situation that you made up in your head because you can’t accept the truth. why.
Alright listen up haters, no one gives a damn what you think. You can call Scorbus out for being too gay. You can call them out for being in the same house. You can call them out for having ‘Always.’ You can call them out for befriending each other. You can go on your rants to undermine them. Guess what? All of these things are canon in the play. I can pull ten quotes at the type of my head to prove this so watch:
Make that 12
“I’d choose you.”
“You make me stronger.”
“I didn’t much like my life without you in it either.”
“You two-you belong together.”
“You’re giving up your kingdom for Albus, right?”
“If she finds us, we will be forced apart forever.”
“I wasn’t sure. Whether we should. In this new version of us-I had in my head.”
“Every owl he sends, I can feel your absence. He’s destroyed by it.”
“And if I won’t? Stay away from him.”
“He is all I need.”
“You have no idea how glad I am to see you.”
My favorite excuse: Not every character in Harry Potter has to be gay.
Albus and Scorpius are the gayest Harry Potter ever had. That’s not everyone.
