I’m deep in clone Shiro theory rn, but I want him to be happy and loved if he is real. Shiro never thinks about his family so maybe he doesn’t have one..a family can be 1 original and 50 clones ok. also @ilovelocust had a cute idea of Keith giving Shiro clone a pep talk and I couldn’t not use it
this vlog was honestly so aesthetically pleasing :) this was really fun to do and it really the first big thing ive done digitally in a while and the first that im super proud of! i hope you like it too!!
Sugar has confirmed that the gems we know as fusions have single-gem equivalents on Homeworld...
And you know what?
THAT MAKES THE FUSIONS 10X MORE INTERESTING TO ME.
Smoky Quartz - A homeworld version of Smoky would look nothing like the one we know. Steven looks like a human (duh), and Amethyst is defective. So a Homeworld version? The only thing in common would be the color, probably. A regular Rose Quartz and Amethyst would make a giant, beefy powerhouse… not the round, cute, (somewhat) short and fun-loving Smoky we know.
Opal - Again, Amethyst is defective. So, right off the bat, you loose a lot of the size and shape that a “normal” Amethyst has. Pearl? I sincerely doubt Pearls are even allowed to fuse on Homeworld.
Garnet - Two gems from different classes fusing together is a big homeworld NO-NO, so a Homeworld Garnet would, again, look nothing like the one we know.
So basically, no matter what fusion you take, they’re all incredibly unique compared to their Homeworld counterparts… because each Crystal Gem is incredibly unique compared to the rest of Homeworld.
Also, this means your OCs are canon until proven otherwise. lolz
Sea urchins have modified mouth parts on the underside of their bodies called an Aristotle’s lantern. The lantern is made up of tooth-like plates that scrape up bits of food like algae, as seen here.
We specifically don’t scrub the algae in this habitat for the urchins, and I see them on the walls all the time, presumably getting a tasty meal. But I had never seen it in action before last week! Invertebrates are such cool little aliens!
The scene where Rowan outs Lysandra as a shifter really is a treasure
Rowan seated on Aedion’s right, cocked his head to the side. “Do you need an introduction?”
Lysandra’s smile grew. “I like your fangs,” she said sweetly.
Aelin choked on her grape. Of course Lysandra did.
Rowan gave a little grin that usually sent Aelin running. “Are you studying them so you can replicate them when you take my form, shapeshifter?”
Aelin’s fork froze midair.
“Bullshit” Aedion said.
