it was also perfect

I think one of my favourite moments in BotFA is when Dain and the Iron Hills dwarves immediately prepare to fight the Orcs, whereas Thranduil and the elves are hesitating.

In my opinion, that is the very thing that really sets the races apart.

Regarding the snow post ( it was beautiful by the way ), but don't you think Sera would identify also with the sheer like...POWER snow can have in like blizzards or avalanches?

mn, sometimes. because there is a part of her that has only developed really recently ( recently, as in, when she became fully like. solidified as her place as mother nature ). the megalomaniacal, power-hungry side to her developed immediately post-release from her star prison / torture chamber, because for a very long time ( an amount of time she herself doesn’t even know ), she was rendered powerless. the megalomania thus is a direct method of overcompensation for that wretched feeling of not being able to change her lot in life or direct her own path of fate. it’s what makes sera a MAJOR control-freak.

so. regarding the power you’re talking about ( whether it be from snow, the ocean, storms, etc. ), yes. she also identifies with that. but!…

at her very core, past all things having to do with mother nature, past all the crap she uses as DEFENSE mechanisms, she is ultimately very…eh, shy isn’t really the right word, because we’re talking about something too menacing to be shy but. reticent, maybe? she’s very withdrawn & very quiet, & isn’t really that big of a fan of engaging large, flashy displays of power unless she absolutely needs to. it draws attention to herself, & the last thing she wants is to have attention drawn to her ( &…technically…it’s the first thing, as well, but that’s a discussion about feeling insufficient & a discussion about how sera is a contradiction incarnate & those are both discussions for another time ). anyway.

snow can also be quiet, standing out in an icy tundra with only icy winds & small eddies of snowflakes…it’s a desolate landscape, to be sure, but it’s also incredibly beautiful. which perfectly encapsulates everything that seraphina is. she’s had her innocence ripped from her like the roots of trees. there’s nothing left but a frozen landscape in her ribcage. & the way that snow kills people, like the way it just sort of…silently, very slowly puts people just…to sleep. only for them to be swallowed by each of these deliberately falling little flecks of white, it’s just…it really is one of the most ideal ways to kill, because ultimately, her goals are to be QUIET & OUT OF SIGHT. she’ll hang in just the peripheries of one’s awareness, be very patient, & will silently take what she wants ( what is HERS by r i g h t ), without them ever knowing what happened before it’s too late. she’s a creature of evolution, of slow change, that is literally what her job is. there is certain satisfaction to her in being able to exact DRAMATIC change without people ever seeing it coming.

Starting selfie Friday a bit early in deference to the blackout, so here’s me in my FIRST JERSEY EVER LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS LOOK AT OUR STARS I’VE NEVER LOVED SOMETHING MORE

Potter has done too much for me for me to ever want to shit all over it. I’m never going to say: ‘Don’t ask me questions about that’. I remember reading an interview with Robert Smith from The Cure. Somebody said to him: ‘Why do you still wear all that makeup, don’t you feel a bit past it?’ And he said: ‘There are still 14-year-olds coming to see The Cure for the first time, dressed like that. I’d never want to make them feel silly.’ It’s a similar thing with Potter. People are still discovering those books and films. It would be awful for them to find out the people involved had turned their backs on it. Though sometimes, people do come up and say ‘I loved you in The Woman in Black,’ which is really sweet. That’s them knowing that it matters to me that I’ve done other stuff.

I am a princess, long may I reign

I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty, or smart, or young. They’re still princesses. All of us.

Do you ever just see a thing that reminds you of something you miss so much you kinda want to rip your heart out and cry a bit but you still smile because you remember how happy you were at that time and yeah?

And then there was this, which wouldn’t have worked in a picset, really, but how much do I love it? Five out of six barricaders just done with being up so high on this windy, rainy day, caked with dirt and muck and getting soaked on ye olde heavenly barricade—and then there’s Killian, still waving his flag and all YES INDEED I HEAR THE PEOPLE SING AND THEY WILL BE HEARING ME TOO FOR THE NEXT WEEK IN THEIR SLEEP.

I guess I’m not like my brother…

I KNOW THIS QUOTE IS OLD BUT I STILL LIKE IT anyway i hope you had a merry christmas
