How did you become a Reaper76 shipper? Was it someone's influence or you thought "Wow, they're HOT together!" by yourself?
Gather around children and let me tell you with the help of an unnecessary long post and answer, of how I came to be a reaper76 shipper…
(I honestly had to think long and hard on this ask bc I was also curious on how this came to be.)
During the Overwatch “beta” - or pre-beta so to speak (this was before I even drew or even new the lore of the game. Tumblr wasn’t even on my mind then) I immediately fell in love with the character Reaper bc he was mysterious and scary and all that good stuff, and I’m sure I’m not the only one that felt the same. I didn’t really ship him with anyone at that point. But after getting more involved in the development of the game I actually started shipping him with Mercy, and at some point Widow (mind you that Soldier:76 wasn’t even announced yet.)
But I got kind of bored of it, of the game in general. And it wasn’t even out yet! So I took a break from it. Until the day when new characters came out that rekindled my interest once more. Soldier: 76 was one of the new heroes, plus I think at that point they’ve told us all the hero’s backstories. That’s when I got to know that Reaper was ones Gabriel Reyes and Soldier: 76 was Jack Morrison, and they where ones good friends through the SEP and during the early days of Overwatch, where Gabe was the one leading the team that won the first omnic war.
I didn’t really think much about their past relationship after that. I was still fond of Reaper and I wanted to know more of his backstory. So I watched a lot of Overwatch gameplays and news channels about the game during my spare time. Hoping for some more lore or news about our favorite edge lord or the game in general. And that’s when I heard a lot of talk about Tumblr. So I checked it out. And I found a lot of art in the Overwatch tag that showed people shipping Reaper and Soldier together. I was like “hm, I haven’t really thought about that”. I started thinking about their backstories and I saw reasons why people shipped them. That’s when I grew more fond of them both. There was a lot of angst and fluff I went through, and I fell more and more in love with their story and the characters and the possibility that they could be a pair. And since I had a fondness to making comics I started to make some of my own.
And so I ended up here on Tumblr. And I don’t regret it. ❤
look it's very simple. They are drunk, Yuuri says Victor isn't as flexible as a shachihoko which is a mythological fish with a lion head which is can be a statue on buildings. Victor mishears him thinking it's a ex. Kinda like hearing Gayle or Gary instead of Gargoyle. So to prove his love he scales the castle and does naked stretching to prove his worth and his love
You watch a weird show
this wasn't in the show. It was a dramatic reading with the voice cast
still you watch a weird show
like you wouldn't watch that. And like you can't imagine that happening on Brooklyn 99
Damnit I can completely imagine Peralta being arrested for that and it would be hilarious
how could someone with a knife and a shield fight someone with a sword and not die, if running away wasn't an option?
Bash them with the shield.
It’s easy to look at shields as a strictly defensive item, but they are a weapon. Historically shields saw some pretty aggressive use in combat. Shields aren’t simply about blocking an enemy attack, they’re also for retaliating, and creating openings in your opponent’s guard. This may be as simple as (briefly) tying up your opponents weapon by swinging the shield away, after you’ve deflected a blow, or it may be something more involved, such as using the edge of the shield to wedge into an opponents armor, pinning them.
Shields do offer a lot of options to a creative fighter. Including allowing them to close distances, through an enemy’s guard, in ways that an unshielded combatant can’t.
One very simple (and risky) solution to your problem would be to rush the swordsman with the shield up, to prevent them from getting a good swing in, pin them against a wall, and run the dagger through their foe’s neck. It’s risky, because if they’re not able to pin the sword before closing the gap, they could end up running themselves through.
Remember, swords do have a minimum effective range. Get close enough to someone, and they won’t be able to get a good hit in with their sword. While this is also true of shields, it’s not the case with most daggers.
It’s not an optimal situation for dealing with a sword, but a shield does offer options to negate the sword’s advantage over a dagger. The shielded combatant has options for dealing with the sword’s reach. Without that, the knife fighter would be screwed.
Thanks for your clear and interesting answer! (I'm the anon that asked about how Bakugou could wake his urge to save, and I'm back with some rambling). Someone asked about occasions when Bakugou may have actually rescued others and, as you said it, it's not that simple. Bakugou may have helped others, but it wasn't heroic behavior. The problem is, he doesn't feel like saving people, like, not at all (and yeah that's why he failed his exam). Look at the UA entrance exam; (1/4, once again)
Comparing Bakugou’s Relationship with Midoriya to His Relationship with Kirishima
Yeah, I can go on and on about how Bakugou needs to learn how to care for others since the point of being a hero is to protect others. You can’t do that if all you know is how to bring the other down.
I pretty much agree with most, if not all, of what you’re saying anon.
Although, you say that Kirishima cares for others more than anyone else, and that’s what Bakugou needs to learn in order to improve himself. I agree with that, but I don’t think Kirishima’s strengths is what Bakugou needs the most. The manga actually makes an argument saying Bakugou and Midoriya have what the other is lacking.
In fact, throughout the manga, the series has been demonstrating how Bakugou and Midoriya complement each other and how they need to learn from each other in order to get better. You say Kirishima’s caring personality is something that’ll drive Bakugou into his character development. Kirishima may do that, but I think that’s more of Midoriya’s role. Midoriya is meant to be more of the opposite image of Bakugou, not Kirishima. Kirishima’s friendliness isn’t something Bakugou strives to be like. As you said, Kirishima’s friendliness is what helps Kirishima get close to Bakugou. If Kirishima and Bakugou weren’t close, then Bakugou would have almost no friends and have a harder time understanding what it’s like to care for others. Kirishima needs this nice, friendly, and outgoing personality in order to develop a healthy friendship with Bakugou. If Kirishima had Bakugou’s more mean-spirited personality, then they would probably get on each other’s nerves. This is all basically what you just said. I’m just rewording it.
Midoriya describes Bakugou and Kirishima’s relationship in these terms.
Midoriya is the bigger foil to Bakugou. Kirishima isn’t meant to be the foil. That’s not what the series is building up to. Bakugou needs to accept that his weaknesses are Midoriya’s strengths. Overall, I agree with you when you say Kirishima is meant to force Bakugou to be more accepting of others and to learn to care for others. Midoriya can’t do that. Kirishima’s friendship with Bakugou is necessary because if Bakugou can’t have a friendship with Kirishima, then he can’t have a friendship with anyone. At least, it’ll be more difficult for Bakugou to develop a healthy relationship with other people because Kirishima is the only one initially who works hard to develop that healthy relationship. Midoriya gives Bakugou all these negative emotions, and Bakugou can’t push himself to be more like Midoriya even though Midoriya shows what he’s lacking. Kirishima, on the other hand, has a much easier time to encouraging and motivating Bakugou to do the right thing and to learn to care for people. Eventually, this’ll lead to Bakugou learning to accept Midoriya’s strengths. This is REALLY hard to explain. The simplest way I can explain this is Midoriya is the person Bakugou should strive to be more like while Kirishima is the person who teaches Bakugou what it’s like to have a healthy and meaningful relationship. Bakugou wouldn’t have the friendships and relationships he does now without Kirishima.
Midoriya has more of friendly and motivating rivalry with Bakugou, where they both can look up to each other. While Kirishima has more of a close alliance and friendship with Bakugou. Bakugou getting close with Kirishima will teach him what it means to actually care for people and open up to others since Kirishima keeps making Bakugou become friendly and nicer to people. He helps make Bakugou become a part of the class and have friends. Kirishima is definitely someone Bakugou grows to like, appreciate, and respect. He helps show Bakugou that not everyone is scum. He helps Bakugou understand what it feels like to have a meaningful bond. Eventually, that will lead Bakugou to repairing his bonds with Midoriya and learning from his mistakes.
Actually, I used to think Kirishima is a satellite character for Bakugou, where the only point to his character is to be a “stepping stone” to Bakugou’s character development. He’s only mean to be “Bakugou’s friend”. Although, as the series moves along, it’s obvious Kirishima is his own character outside of Bakugou. His relationships with other classmates and his own development shows that.
Anon, I don’t know if that was a satisfactory response. You’re description of Kirishima’s heroic and caring personality reminded me or Midoriya. Thanks for the ask!

Kong: Skull Island is, first of all, a visual spectacle. From visual effects, cinematography to amazing locations. It’s beautiful. Soundtrack is A+! I won’t make a deep review just yet. I really enjoyed it even though it went by really fast (maybe too fast?)
I had small issues here and there but considering the type of movie it is I tend to ignore these things for the sake of entertainment.
I recommend watching in IMAX (I would prefer simple 2D because I have problems with the glasses but that’s not an issue of the movie but the technology itself) and PLEASE stay until the very end. 90% of the people in the room I was in missed a great thing.
Also, Conrad’s biceps and Conrad’s eyes. That’s all for now.

You slid onto the booth bench without so much as a greeting to the man that sat before you. You took the drink he was nursing and offered him a small scowl prior to tipping the glass back and draining it of its contents. You both knew a pleasant, emotional greeting was unnecessary.
You scowled deeper and sighed at the burning in your throat. You placed your hand flat on your chest and sighed. “That’s not my drink. Why would you order that?”
“Because it’s my drink,” he told you in a voice that rivaled your own in terms of irritation and a grimace that rivaled yours in terms of depth. You could have smiled at his Southern drawl, though. It still reminded you of warm peach cobbler.
Leonard then gave you a once over and seemed to be dissatisfied with what he saw. “You looked good a few days ago. What happened?”
“Oh, I’ve just been in a bit of a tizzy seeing as we spoke three days ago and you didn’t think to tell me the Enterprise would be docking here.” You cleared your throat and sat back, your head lolling against the cushion behind you. You frowned. “Didn’t even give me a chance to leave the planet.”
“Ain’t allowed to leave the planet while on parole— even I know that.” His scowl was slowly shifting into a half-smile that touched his eyes as if the largest grin. “Besides, Yorktown ain’t so bad once you stop thinkin’ about how a crack in the glass could kill us all— you’re lucky to be here.”
You hummed, smiling at the bartender that set your usual drink before you. Your polite smile turned to a rueful one as you swirled your fingertip over the rim of your glass and sighed. “Anything’s better than a jail cell.”
Quick drawings of Odd in his waiter uniform– ah… He ended up looking different from when I first drew him. I showed my bf these sketches and he said that he thinks Odd is cute and that he’d give him a big tip. 8)))

Notes: Future mature themes, talk of abuse, and more.
Hi, I'm the person who ran jdools and I'm really, really sorry for not asking permission for (and altering) your art. I realise this was very shitty to do, and should have asked before using it, as art theft is extremely rude to the creators who work hard on it and it's not fair to you or anyone for me to do that. Also, I (immaturely) locked my blog at first sign of conflict, and my intention wasn't to seem like I blocked you, but I realise that comes across as very defensive/fighty now. Sorry.
Honestly this apology feels empty to me it’s more so the “Sorry can we drop this now?” response and that’s not what I was looking for. Are you going to give me or any future artist’s work you use credit? Me asking for credit was a simple request yet not only did you not reply you thought locking your account was a safer route. I would never prevent someone from using my art as long as you ask for permission first. I was the one spending my time and energy working on my art and just like any other artist we want to get acknowledged.
The "maybe they had a good reason" scene was when I thought that Derek was the "hero" of the show. I had to go back and check, then when Scott lies to the police about Derek being the assailant at the school, when he knew it wasn't. Stiles gave him the best "WTF are you doing" look. A simple "I don't know who that was" would be more than fine, and he wouldn't have lied to the police
I let a lot of Scott’s behaviour in Season 1 slide, because he was a confused, scared kid dealing with a lot of shit. But he’s never called out for his behaviour in the show, and he never apologises to Derek–most significantly when he forces Derek to bite Gerard.
It’s funny, but I really don’t think Jeff Davis saw it coming.
He gave us Derek, a character with one of the most heartbreaking backstories ever, has him basically treated like shit by the hero of the show, and is surprised when he turns out to be a fan favourite?
They set up this antagonism between Derek and Scott, and guess what? Most of fandom went “Um, Scott, grow up. Derek might be a douche, but at least he’s trying to help you when there is an alpha and hunters after you. And you’re trying to get laid and play lacrosse. Priorities, you biscuit!”
If you were planning on sorting him in a later post it's fine, but I'm really curious which house you think Netherlands would be put in
Netherlands- Slytherin- The reason I put Netherlands in Slytherin is pretty simple and upfront. It’s because he’s focused on one thing and that one thing is money. He doesn’t care if it means selling weapons to a warring nation as long as he can profit from it. He’s out for himself. He’s constantly looking for ways to earn money and to better himself. This is a Slytherin 110%. I’ve seen him placed in Hufflepuff which I don’t really understand that. He’s ambitious and put’s his wants and needs first and foremost. He’s Slytherin ya’ll
r u ever doing a math problem and u are hard the fuck at work doing all these fucking math backflips and you have got this and you end up with a fucking monster of an answer that looks like it belongs in a movie on the supergenius theoretical physicist’s board like aw man look at this tough as nails problem with the long answer look how well i managed dealing with all these numbers
then u look in the back of the book and the answer was like fucking 3 or something
The movies; keep it simple and don't make it look like you tried too hard
Tourist attraction; pick one most convenient to you and use this as your excuse to end up wandering in and out of various cafes and stores and ultimately ending up in a park or somewhere else where you can both just relax and be comfortable
Outdoor cinema; then suggest leaving early and exploring/doing whatever and utilise this time to just wander around and talk, making it look like a spontaneous/fun decision even though it wasn't
a concert; and then after suggest staying at motel because it's so late, let them know you don't have any ulterior motives and say that you have a random/old pack of uno cards on you and spend the night playing that and rent a romcom movie
Bowling; pretend to be off your game (unless you're bad anyway then just be open about being awful at it) and use this time for the getting to know each other questions, which will make them feel more comfortable, once it gets a little tiresome do something more fun like laser tag - which will be made even more fun since the first bit of awkwardness is out of the way.
A nighttime market; one where there will be various, unique and fun stalls.
Dinner and a movie; or rather a movie then dinner because Libra's need to get the vibe off of someone before they feel comfortable and love classic romance. Then, at dinner talk about the movie and then slowly lead in to talking about them.
The beach; simple, natural + the ocean so they'll most likely love it
Theme park; it'll show that you're fun and while waiting in the endlessly long lines conveniently talk about your personal philosophies.
A party; take them to a random house party (actually your friends) and just spend the night having fun and make sure the party host (your friend) really loves party games (meaning spin the bottle)(I'm kidding not exclusively spin the bottle but still include it)
Fast food chain; tell them how much you love it when things aren't so "romantic" and "over the top" and say you just want to have fun, then conveniently end up somewhere where's there's something to do - "Wow! I didn't know there was a 24/7 arcade a short walk from this McDonald's! How about we go in just to have a look? How random! I'm not weird by the way, I always carry a bag of quarters with me."
A maze; and then "accidentally" get lost and spend the whole time laughing and getting to know each other
