it didn't turn out the way i hoped it would

hya-ichor  asked:

Since we all know belief is the single most powerful force at EU, what would happen if someone believed they had fae blood (even if they didn't?) Like, they grew up with their mother telling them stories of the old country and nature always seemed to be more welcoming to them than to anyone else they knew, and they just assumed that they had fae blood somewhere way back in their genealogy? (I mean, all children hope that they'll turn 11/16/22 and find out they're a wizard/mermaid/werewolf) (1/2)

When they arrive at Elsewhere, having purposely found -through Internet whispers- and applied to a place where reality is a little thin, how would the belief that they are a tiny bit fae affect them? (2/2)

It may be the single most powerful force on campus, but there’s some things even sheer bloody-minded stubborn belief can’t change, and the line between immortal and immortal is one of them. I think the most likely effect this would have would be to give you an allergy to common protection charms on campus.

I wish you would write a conversation between queen regent Elia and a returning Arthur over the abduction, Aerys threatening Elia, & the Tower of Joy being in Dorne. Assume Rhaegar and Robert are dead.

She’s put this off long enough, and she’s commanded herself to be calm and detached, but it doesn’t hurt any less when he’s escorted into the throne room. Without his Kingsguard armor and his sword, he seems…less. She hadn’t wanted to put him in the black cells, but failing that she hadn’t known what to do with him either; Doran had suggested confining him to a room, and so she had.

She straightens her posture on the throne, trying to ignore how uncomfortable it is. Aegon the Conqueror had constructed it to be so–and had succeeded. Arthur only glances at her briefly before going to one knee.

“I presume you know why you are here,” she says without preamble. “I have filled six Kingsguard positions, but the seventh…”

Oberyn had pressed her to strip Arthur of his white cloak, and Elia had agreed his transgressions merited at least that, yet she hasn’t brought herself to do it. “I submit myself to your judgment.”

For some reason, his obeisance irritates her. Since they were children, he’d never shied away from voicing his opinions, and that hadn’t changed when she became Rhaegar’s wife either. For all that she’d planned on being levelheaded, she realizes that what she truly wants is to argue. Even the remaining rebels had been courteous enough, not to mention the sycophantic loyalists.

She turned to the guards at the doors and commands, “Leave us.” They hesitate, but one glare from her has them doing as she says. Once the heavy doors bang shut, Elia descends from the throne and stands in front of him. “Oh, for gods’ sakes, get up. The time for standing on ceremony is over.”

He looks up at her and slowly gets to his feet, for once unsure. “What is it you wish of me?”

“I want your head,” she snarls. “There are two rebel soldiers on my son’s Kingsguard now, and do you know why? Because they swore an oath to their leader, and they saw it through to the end. But you?” Her hands clench into fists at her sides. “My uncle gave you your knighthood, my mother opened our home to you. You swore yourself forever to House Martell, and at the first opportunity you betray us. Rhaegar may have started all this, but you were right there by his side. What do I wish of you? I wish to hear one reason why I shouldn’t let Oberyn poison your drink the way he longs to.”

Marco rants to Ponyhead and Star about Tom. Ponyhead sgets annoyed and jokingly tells Marco that if he likes him so much he should ask him out. She then grabs his scissors and sends him to the underworld to do so as a prank. Star tries to bring Marco back through, knowing Ponyhead won't do it until he goes along with it. Marco sheepishly asks Tom out to a date and he says yes as if he's expected it the whole time. Marco has also had feelings for Tom but he didn't know quite what they were.

Was this an idea or a request? Either way I wrote it! I had so much fun writing this! It really was an amazing idea! Sorry it takes a sad turn in the middle but I ended it fluffy and happy! I hope you enjoy! I played with the idea a bit because I thought about how I would feel if somebody asked me out on a dare, which is not good. But we all know that’s not what ws meant, I can’t explain haha just read it! Enjoy!

“Marco just do it so she’ll let you come home.” Star complained over the phone. Marco ran around the underworld, desperately trying to find a way home. He shook his head and looked around for some sort of way out.

“NO! I can’t ask Tom out! He’s TOM!” Marco complained. Star shrugged and twirled with her wand.

‘You know, by the way you get so defensive about it, I would think you have a crush on him.” She teased. Marco blushed furiously.

“NO! No way do I like him! It’s TOM! I do not like Tom at all!” Marco assured. Star laughed and put the phone on speaker so Ponyhead and Janna could hear his yelling and defending. He was going on and on about how much he hated the demon while the girls laughed.

“Okay Marco, this is getting crazy.” Star laughed. “I’m hanging up, Tom lives at the end of the road we sent you to.” She giggled. When she hung up the phone all the girls started laughing.

“He’s got it so bad and he doesn’t even know.” Janna scoffed and ate a handful of popcorn. “You think he’ll do it?” She asked. Star shrugged.

“He is in deep denial. Let’s see how this goes.” She suggested. Star took out her wand and chanted the spying spell.

“Hey? Isn’t that evil or something?” Ponyhead asked. Star was quiet for a moment.

“This is an important circumstance.” Star defended. The girls looked through the magic window and saw Marco walk near the old Halloween-looking house at the end of the road. “ He’s going for it!” Star cheered.

“Well we don’t know that yet.” Ponyhead assured. “Just shut-up and watch, girl.” She insisted. Marco knocked on the door and stood there for a while. As soon as he was about to leave, think the demon wasn’t home, the door swung open and Tom pulled Marco in, he seemed enraged, but once he saw whom it was he at once calmed down.

“Oh! Marco! Sorry about that. I didn’t know it was you.” He laughed lightly. Marco gasped in fear from what happened.

“Who did you think I was!?” He demanded. “What a welcome…” Marco said with sarcasm. Tom rolled his eyes and motioned for Marco to sit down. The human did so and Tom flopped down on the chair right across from his, laying diagonally across it and looking up at the ceiling. He seemed like he was falling off the chair in an uncomfortable manor, but he didn’t look like he had any intention on moving.

“What’s up?” The demon asked. Marco blushed and rubbed the back of his head.

“I uh… am here.” Marco spat out. Tom looked at him curiously.

“Yeah… I got that part.” He assured. Marco blushed deeper and played with his hands, hoping the girls would just bring him home already. He waited a minute in silence before realizing that wasn’t going to happen.

“I actually… wanted to talk to you.” Marco admitted. Tom sat up and looked at him with interest. “It’s actually… a question…” Marco continued.

“He’s gonna do it!” Janna cried. Star leaned closer to the magic window and they watched the boys closely. Marco cleared his throat and shuffled nervously, trying to find the right words.

“I uhm… do you…” Marco started,

“He’s gonna choke.” Ponyhead assured. They watched as Marco continued.

“Do you want…” Marco cut off and started coughing. Tom shot up and walked over to him, asking if he was okay. Ponyhead leaned back smugly.

“I told you he was gonna choke.” She reminded. The other girls hushed her and watched as Tom handed Marco a glass of water.

“Dude? You good?” He asked again. Marco nodded.

“It’s just… I’m a little nervous is all because… I wanted to ask you something.” He mumbled. Tom rolled his eyes, getting bored.

“You said that! Just ask already.” Tom assured. Marco swallowed hard and gulped down the glass of water. He finished and took a deep breath, looking up at Tom with big eyes. Marco cleared his throat.

“Do you want to go on a date with me?” Marco asked. All three girls gasped and Tom was silent for a long while. Marco watched him with a nervous expression. When he didn’t say anything Marco sighed and got up. “I’m sorry, this was a bad idea.” Marco said, about to run out. Tom stopped him by grabbed his shoulder.

“No! It’s not stupid it really isn’t.” Tom assured. He then blushed a little bit. “I uh… I’d love to go on a date with you.” The demon smiled and Marco blushed a little bit. He was actually happy Tom accepted! This wasn’t so bad after all. Marco smiled at him and the two stood there for a moment until a portal opened.

“Oh my gosh!” Ponyhead cried. “I didn’t think you’d do it but you did! This is crazy, I guess you can come home now, dare finished.” She smirked. Marco was about to climb through the portal when he looked back at Tom. He stopped when the demon was looking at him with a confused look.

“What does she mean? What’s going on?” He asked. “Dare?” Tom inquired. Marco rocked on his heels a little bit.

“Oh… yeah actually the reason I asked you out is because… she sort of trapped me here… to ask you out… on a dare.” Marco explained. It sounded a lot worse when he said it like that. Tom’s eyes lit up and he stared daggers at the human. “Are you mad?” Marco asked.

“YES!” Tom hissed. “You asked me OUT on a DARE!? That’s so messed up!” Tom screamed. He fell back, his eyes turning back to normal. “I was… I was happy! I thought you LIKED me!” He yelled. Tom was growling at the human, but more hurt than anger was showing in his eyes.

Star and Janna jumped through the portal. “Tom! It’s not like that, we dared him because he likes you!” Star tried. Tom hissed at the girl.

“You too? I expected this from Pony but I thought a little more of you.” Tom told her, looking away.

“Ouch, offense taken.” Ponyhead announced. Marco went over to Tom but the demon shoved him away.

“Get out of my house! I don’t want to go on a dare-date with you!” Tom screamed, pushing the group out. “I can’t believe I actually thought… get OUT OF HERE!” He yelled, throwing a picture frame at Janna. The group ran out of the demon’s house and closed the portal, sitting on the floor of the couch.

“Guys… I feel bad.” Star said, pulling her knees to her chest. Janna and Ponyhead nodded and Marco put his face in his hands.

“He… he didn’t let me explained. I do like him!” Marco cried. “I just didn’t really know until you guys…” He trailed off. “I can understand why he’d be mad… who would want to be asked out on a dare? That’s pretty hurtful.” Marco sighed. “I wish I could explain to him the truth.” Marco wished.

“Well he does not want to talk to you, or any of us, now. I don’t think he’ll listen.” Star admitted. Janna cracked her knuckles.

“Don’t worry, I’ve disappointed many-a-people in my time.” She assured. “And I know how to get through to them even when they’re this mad.” Janna promised. “I can get you two on good terms, somebody hand me a pair of scissors.”

Tom hissed when there was a knock at his door. He didn’t want to answer it, he just wanted to lie on the floor and feel bad. Tom groaned when the knock came again, this time louder and he got up. “Okay! Okay! I’m coming! Hekapoo if this is you I already lost you scissors so you can’t get them back.” Tom called, slumping down the stairs to the front door.

Tom opened the door and scowled when there was nobody there, he took a step out and hissed when he stubbed his toe on something, but his expression softened when he looked down and saw a big basket. Tom looked curious and bent down, he picked it up and saw it had a heart-print fleece blanket in it with a note that said ‘To keep you warm because I was so cold to you’ with a frowny-face. Tom tilted his head and saw there was a big heart-shaped card. He brought it inside and opened it, he rolled his eyes when he opened it and a bunch of pink glitter spilled out on his lap.

Tom looked down and read the note.

Dear Tom,

Hey! It’s Marco! I know you probably don’t want to talk to me right now, and I deserve that. I did something really mean to you without thinking twice about it. The thing is, the girls were teasing me about having a crush on you, and then dared me to ask you out. It actually had good intentions and we didn’t mean to hurt you. I never thought it would hurt your feelings because I assumed you would just say no. Which is still wrong of me. I understand how you could have been hurt by the situation and I’m sorry. A dare is not the right way to ask somebody on a date.

But the dare wasn’t meant to be something I didn’t want to do. In fact, it’s something I’ve been hoping for. So I’m sorry. And I would like to ask you on a real date.

PS. Star, Janna and Ponyhead helped me with the card. They feel bad about daring me in the first place and wanted me to add that they had good intentions. Sorry about the glitter, it was Star’s handy-work.

Love, Marco

Tom smiled a bit at the note and felt the soft blanket between his fingers. He giggled a little and brushed the glitter off hip lap. He rolled his eyes, but was still smiling fondly. He put the not up in his window so he could see it and shook his head. “Oh Marco.”

“do you know what you’ve done?” also for corvosider

Corvo swallowed and let out a shaky breath, his hands tightening as he looked around. The sight in front of him was as though taken from a nightmare; bodies littered the floor, the walls were splattered with blood, and everywhere Corvo could see the shattered remains of the overseers’ music boxes. They had apparently been of no use in the fight against this opponent. He couldn’t say he was surprised.

“Do you know what you’ve done?” Corvo asked, looking at the figure standing in the middle of the carnage, untouched by the blood and dirt surrounding him.

“Of course,” the Outsider answered simply, turning to face Corvo. The sword in his hand moved and flickered, as clearly a product of the Void as anything Corvo had ever seen. “I’ve eliminated those threatening to kill me. Is that not the way when fighting to survive? Or am I not allowed to protect myself?”

guy-with-naruto-jacket  asked:

Just curious, how do you feel about su crits saying that Peridot is a horrible example of an autistic protag?

How do I feel about it?

Well…if the criticism is coming from another autistic person, I can’t say it holds no weight. Other autistic people are perfectly justified in their worries about Peridot’s character, where accurate representation is concerned. If it’s criticism that’s coming from someone who ISN’T autistic, though…then they don’t really have a place on saying what is and what isn’t good representation. Just like straight people can’t say what is and what isn’t good LGBT+ representation.

As for my personal opinion, I can’t necessarily say I agree with the statement that Peridot isn’t good autistic representation. I’m on the autism spectrum, and I’ve been able to completely identify with Peridot since the events of Gem Drill. After that episode was around the time when people began to dislike her, and pull back to say the crewniverse isn’t doing a good job with her character.

A lot of Peridot’s traits that can be considered symptoms of autism are still prevalent in her character today. Her performance in social situations is, for the most part, the same. She still seems pretty unaware of social cues; IE what is and what isn’t okay to say or do. Another trait I’ve noticed in myself and nearly all the autistic people I’ve met in my life is a very stubborn, or persistent attitude, which is something that can also be attributed to Peridot in her newer appearances.

None of these traits apply to ALL autistic people, of course. Autism is much less a pattern of symptoms, but moreso a grab-bag of symptoms that vary heavily from person to person. Me, my best friend, and my little brother are all autistic, and the three of us all have very different experiences, because all of us have different symptoms.

Some traits of Peridot I can relate to in particular are her immaturity and naivety, which are traits of hers that are shown in The New Crystal Gems and Room For Ruby. Peridot’s immaturity and naivety have been core parts of her character since Season 2, and as far back as Marble Madness. To say Peridot isn’t still the same character is to admit you aren’t even paying attention to her.

For autistic people who don’t have any of the above traits, it’s fine if you can’t relate to her this way, and it’s fine if you don’t like her because she doesn’t represent you. But, if I could ask one thing, it would be to not invalidate the opinions of autistic people who can relate to Peridot’s character as it currently is, like me.

TURN and André’s Execution

I promised this post was coming, and here it is.

Let me just preface with the fact that I’m going to try and be as unbiased as possible while also trying to voice my feelings/concerns on last night’s episode of Turn. I’m going to try and analyze everything that happened scene by scene, to focus on historical inaccuracy and its overall effect on the show/André’s character. Everything is below the cut because this is clocking in at over 1,500 words. I’m sure I’m going to miss a few things, but you’re more than welcome to hit me up if you’ve got any questions.

How would Jungkook, V and J-Hope react if you didn't want to go out cause you're just too lazy

J-Hope/ Hoseok: In both cases (not joining him at all or just staying at home) Hoseok would be such a pain… He would beg you to go out with him, jumping around you throwing disgusting aegyo faces at you or using a cute voice on the phone to make you crack up. He would just go on, still smiling, certain that he’d find a way to convince you to get out. But if after all his efforts you would still turn him down, I think he would just find some logical reasons to your attitude to persuade him that it has nothing to do with you getting bored of him. Cause he couldn’t think it was just laziness.

V/ Taehyung: Taehyung would be hurt even if he won’t admit it. He would just act like he don’t care that you turned him down on a date, saying you would see each others another time. The call would be really short as he wouldn’t show you how disappointed he really is. But if it was to spend a date at home, I think he would enjoy it even more. I think Taehyung likes simple things and always manage to turn simple home dates into really fun ones, so it wouldn’t be a problem.

Jungkook : I think Jungkook is the kind of understanding boyfriend. But if you told him that you’re too lazy to go on a date with him he would be really hurt. He wouldn’t spend too much time begging, it wouldn’t be his style, but at least he would try to make you change your mind. If it is just about not going out but still having a date at home, then he wouldn’t mind it at all, as soon as you’re happy with it and that he can spend time with you.

Hope that’s what you expected :) and hope you liked it! Thank you for your request!

Recovery/dealing with mental illnesses comes in phases

For us, dealing with DID, we’re going through some different phases, which can and do overlap and can and do come back. These aren’t usually either there or not, more like, the intensity/frequency of what characterizes each phase shifts from high(er) to low(er).

For example:

  • Trying to accept we actually have it
  • Trying to get over this quickly, thinking we should be able to function “like everyone else” (study, work, fit into society etc)
  • Learning about it
  • Trying to get to know ourselves/each other
  • Trying to fake neurotypical-ness (trying to act un-traumatised and singlet and non-depressed etc)
  • Trying very hard to be ourselves without knowing how (having no role models or representation)
  • More specifically: Getting lots of clothes, accessories, toys, books, stuff for all the different system mates; system children getting the urge to buy every colourful/glittery/shiny thing they see - and then being unable to use those things and getting sad that they just collect dust even though we’d really love to wear them/use them/play with them…
  • doubt, denial, self-invalidation “I’m not really sick/not sick enough/not in the right way”

I think/hope we are now at a place where we’re getting better and better at accepting ourselves and our illnesses and getting to know ourselves and each other and organizing our life as best we can (pretty well all things considered!) and we even started actually using the stuff we collected so far, to express our different selves :)

  • Lucas: Maya I'm sorry about what happend at the campfire.
  • Maya: ( remains silent )
  • Lucas: I didn't mean to put all that pressure on you and make you scared of me.
  • Maya: Lucas, if you kissed me and Riley knew about it, she would be crushed.
  • Lucas: I didn't know what I was doing!
  • Maya: Clearly.
  • Lucas: It's never going to happen again.
  • Maya: Agreed. Can I leave now?
  • Lucas: Yeah. I'll walk you out.
