AU Ideas: 4 (with Artist Steve?? that'd be amazing) or 13 or 15

  • 15: My friend made me a grindr/tinder profile without me knowing and you liked my profile and then sent me a message which just said ‘Bees?’ and I’m a little confused but intrigued.

— —

Steve’s phone buzzes.

“If this is another Grindr notification, I swear to God—“ Steve starts.

“That you’ll answer it and go get laid?” Sam says. Natasha snickers.

“That I’ll kick your ass,” Steve says.

Sam raises an eyebrow. “Will you?” he asks.

“Yes, I will!” Steve says.

“He’s very scrappy,” Natasha says. “He once managed to scratch me.”

“Check your messages,” Sam says.

Steve sighs, rolls his eyes, and pulls out his phone. He reads the notification from wintersoldat3255. It says, Bees? and nothing else.

He holds the phone up to Sam. “See?” he says. “See the weirdos who message me because you made this profile?”

Sam takes the phone from Steve, reads the message, and snorts. “Okay, well, maybe they’re not all winners. Let’s see what he…” he trails off, eyes going wide. “Shit, those are some pectorals.”

“Oh, pass it here,” Natasha says, taking the phone. Even Natasha — who is rarely impressed — raises her eyebrows. “Maybe you should see what this guy has to say,” she says, passing the phone back to Steve after a long moment.

“I’ve seen what he has to say, and what he has to say is ‘bees’, apparently.”

“It was a question,” Sam says. “You should change your intonation.”

Steve exhales. “Bees?” he asks, exaggerating the raised end of the question. “That better?”

“Very,” Sam says. “Now let’s look at your other prospects.”

Steve gets up to get another round of drinks.

— —

He doesn’t know why he goes back to Grindr that night, after he’s back home and has had a few drinks. It’s not that he wants to get laid — honestly, he doesn’t want to get out of bed — but he’s sort of curious about who saw his photos and thought ‘yeah, I’d hit that’.

He scrolls through a few generic messages, then sees the one from wintersoldat3255.

Bees?

What the fuck.

So he types out, what the fuck? and sends it back to the guy.

He doesn’t expect an answer — the guy messaged him hours ago — but it only takes a minute or so before he gets a response:

You say save the bees in your profile, which is noble and everything, but I know for a FACT that you’re allergic to bees.

First of all, Steve is a little heartened knowing that Sam knows him well enough to include the fact that the bees need to be put on the endangered species list and should be protected on his dating profile. But then he realizes that this guy… somehow knows that Steve is allergic to bees, which is creepy as hell.

No I’m not, Steve lies, calling the guy’s bluff.

No, you are. I’m the one who shoved an Epipen in your thigh after you got stung during Gilmore Hodge’s birthday party and his mom was too freaked out to do anything about it.

Steve stares at the message, then shakes his head. It can’t be right! The person who stuck the Epipen in his thigh during Gilmore Hodge’s birthday party was Bucky Barnes, and this guy can’t be Bucky Barnes.

Can he?

Steve quickly clicks over to his profile. He scrolls through the pictures, but there aren’t any of his face, just abs and pecs, which makes Steve roll his eyes a little. When he goes back to his messages he has another from wintersoldat3255:

Yeah Steve, it’s me.

Steve’s eyes go wide.

Bucky? he asks.

Long time no see.

Can’t actually see your face, so I don’t really know it’s you.

A photo appears. It’s of Bucky Barnes, mugging for the camera with a toothy grin.

You wanna catch up? Bucky writes.

Sure. Where are you? Steve asks, heart beating fast.

It’s Grindr. The whole point is that you can see.

Steve rolls his eyes, they make plans to meet-up at a local 24-hour diner in a half hour, and Steve saves the photo that Bucky sent him, just in case.

— —

Bucky is already sitting in a booth when Steve walks in. He perks up, grins, and waves. “Steve!” he calls.

Steve straightens up a little, takes a breath. He shouldn’t be so nervous; it’s not like there’s anything riding on this. He’s just seeing his childhood best friend for the first time in over ten years. No big deal.

Doesn’t help that Bucky was Steve’s first crush, but no big deal, either.

He walks over, and Bucky’s just grinning at him, like he’s the best thing he’s seen in years. “Hey Buck,” Steve says.

“Steve,” Bucky says, kind of breathy. “Wow, you look fantastic.”

Steve shrugs. “I look like me,” he says. “Don’t have abs like you do, apparently.”

Bucky laughs, ducks his head. “I’ll be honest — my friends made that profile for me. I thought Peter was taking pictures for his art class of me at the gym.”

“Why didn’t he include his face?” Steve asks. “It’s not like your face is a bad one.”

Bucky laughs. “Thanks for that, I think.” He pauses, starts playing with the edge of the plastic menu on the table in front of him. “And it’s because I’m out but I’m not out out.”

“Okay?” Steve says, a little confused.

“Anyhow, what have you been up to? How’s life? Do you still like pancakes? Because this place has the best pancakes.”

— —

It’s weird how easy it is, reconnecting with Bucky. Steve never spent much effort trying to find him after they lost touch. He just assumed that Bucky thought he was too cool for him when they got to high school, and it was almost a relief when he moved away during the summer before their junior year, just so Steve wouldn’t have to be reminded of the best friend he lost.

He wants to ask Bucky about it, but he doesn’t have to. Bucky just opens up during their second round of milkshakes.

“I’m sorry,” he says.

“For what?” Steve asks.

“For when I stopped talking to you during high school. I know that it must’ve made you feel like shit.”

Steve fidgets. He doesn’t want to answer that.

“You know my parents were in a bad place.”

“They got divorced, right?” he asks.

Bucky nods. “But the last two years were… really bad.” He pauses, clears his throat. “I wasn’t hanging out with a great crowd. And I think I justified not talking to you because I didn’t want you to get involved with that crowd. But I more just think that I didn’t want you talking me out of the bad shit I was doing.”

Steve remembers the way that Bucky walked down the halls with his friends, rolling his eyes at Steve when he tried to talk to him. Of course, Steve tried to talk to him, tried having a showdown of some kind, but Bucky would just… walk away. He never bothered listening.

It hurt.

“And then my parents got divorced and my mom and I moved in with my Uncle Pierce, and…” He trails off.

“That’s the uncle who I met that one time, right? Who said I should be sent to a pray away the gay camp?”

“We had no money,” Bucky says.

“How was it?”

“I joined the Army as soon as I could,” Bucky says with a weak smile.

“Shit,” Steve says.

He shrugs. “I’m out now, and I’m doing pretty well for myself. Got my issues, but everyone else does.” Steve nods. “And besides, I’m free to do whatever I want now, so.”

“So you’re spending your time on Grindr?” Steve asks.

“You are, too!” Bucky says.

“My friends made me a profile!”

“No, Steve, you can’t take that excuse. I already used it.” He’s laughing, and Steve kicks him underneath the table.

“It’s true!”

“Yeah, yeah, Steve Rogers.” He stops laughing, just smiles. “Steve Rogers,” he repeats, quieter.

“That’s my name,” he says. The ‘don’t wear it out’ is implied.

He glances down at his shake, and stirs it with his straw. “I wanted to find you again for a while,” he admits, still looking down. “I debated about sending you a message for about an hour before I did.”

“I’m glad you did,” Steve says. “I’ve wondered a lot about what happened to you.”

“Do you think…” Bucky starts, looking up. He clears his throat. “Do you think that we could meet again sometime? I just… I feel like this is a second chance, and I don’t wanna mess it up.”

“I’d like to see you again,” Steve says, stomach tingling, and not from the milkshake.

“Cool,” Bucky says, and Steve feels his foot shift against his. He doesn’t move it away.

Steve doesn’t mind, just presses his own foot closer to Bucky’s, and looks forward to their future together.

Could you write some more supercorp? Just any supercorp? :) how about a jealousy fic where either kara or lena are jealous? And we could throw in some - I wasn't sure if you were going to assassinate me but I'm glad you didn't because I fell in love with you anyway... I'm really bad at this, sorry :D. I would be happy about any story if you have the time :) :) You are amazing, just like in general. I love your writing, delicately crafted and heart-wrenchingly beautiful!

“what on earth is this? and it must be from earth because this, this in front of me?” kara wiggles her finger slightly, somehow encompassing the entirety of the scene in front of her. “this is some earth bull crud.”

“bull crud?”

“don’t change the topic, lena! what is going on here?”

lena narrows her eyes for a moment, before a small annoyingly smug smile crosses her lips. her really nice lips. kara has to focus on something else. not her lips.

“supergirl, are you jealous?”

“what?”

“you’re jealous i got rescued by the guardian.”

“NO.” kara crosses her arms. to prove it, she turns to james and smiles. “thanks for rescuing her by the way, ja- guardian.” the guardian sets lena carefully on the ground and makes a very purposeful thumbs up before taking off around the corner. kara watches through the wall as he jumps into a van and takes off his helmet. if he’s going to be any kind of hero, kara should probably give him some lessons on disguises. sure she has some issues with secrets but at least she waits until she’s hidden before putting on her kara disguise.

“supergirl?”

“i can take you home, if you want,” kara offers. she doesn’t look right at lena because for some reason her insides are all twisty and uncomfortable. “or to the office.”

“supergirl…” kara folds her arms over her chest. lena sighs. “my office. please.”

normally, she would take her time flying lena anywhere. she likes to show her the city and let lena enjoy flying. today, she just wants to leave.

“is everything okay?” lena asks, and she steps in front of her mirror to pat down her hair. “supergirl?” she calls.

kara can still hear her, and the slight trace of hurt, even from several blocks away.

//

“hi kara, it’s lena. i was just wondering if we were still on for dinner tonight. there’s this new restaurant-”

kara presses the off button on the recording grumpily as she paces her living room. she is supposed to meet lena in, she checks her watch, seven minutes and she’s still not sure whether she’s going to go. she has no good reason not to except that her stomach still feels….weird.

people use that as an excuse all the time though, and it makes her stomach feel worse but she types out a message to lena and sends it.

-be there in five, comes lena’s reply and kara stares down at her phone with slowly dawning horror.

lena is coming to her home, where she is in fact not sick or ill or barely clinging to life as she may have implied in her message.

“i see you meant to join me tonight after all,” she says sweetly from the front door which, yeah, alex may be right in saying she should start locking that. “nice dress.”

“oh, uh, thank you.” kara glances down at the dress and flushes. it was the seventh one she had tried on, she’d been as nervous about this as she had with adam or james or- oh no.

“you don’t look sick,” lena says. “if you wanted to stay in tonight that’s all you had to say.”

“I-”

“unless you didn’t want to hang out at all.” lena rolls her eyes to the ceiling, shakes her head. “i’m sorry, how foolish of me. i’ll go-”

“no, no stay.” kara zips to the door, blocks it with her body. “you can stay.” she thinks she’s misreading the way lena is staring at her: a little bit amazed, a little bit in awe, and smug. mostly smug. which makes very little sense but lena makes everything senseless. or she makes kara senseless. kara doesn’t know which, because she doesn’t have the sense to figure it out.

“thank you. you can stop blocking the way, i know when i’m beaten,” lena says, and she places her handbag on the bench. “shall we order in?”

“yes. but no seafood, right?”

“that’s right.” lena looks surprised. “i’m allergic, how did you know?”

kara frowns. “you mentioned it last time we went out.”

“well now i know if i see any around that it’s no honest mistake but an assassination attempt.”

“why would i try to assassinate you?”

“who needs a reason?” lena laughs. “are you sure you’re feeling up to this? you don’t look very well.”

“i’m fine,” kara tells her. “are you alright? i heard you got saved by the guardian.”

“yeah.” she shrugs. seems to glance sideways to kara but why she would do that kara has no idea. “he was alright but supergirl catches me far more neatly. i have a bruise.”

“a BRUISE?”

“it’s alright, I’ll just make sure to never get into trouble without supergirl in the future.”

“good idea.” kara nods, the knot in her stomach dissolving. “good. yeah. she’s great, you do that.”

Five Times Ladybug Didn't Recognize Her Partner and One Time She Did

A sequel to Five Times Gabriel Agreste Didn’t Akumatize His Son and One Time He Did. I really wanted to leave it as it was, but I had to come back and give this a happier ending. And of course it ran away from me and got way longer than I meant it to.

I hope you enjoy!

“Is everything okay, kitty?”

Chat Noir looked over at her. “What?”

“You seem a little out of it.”

He shrugged. “No, just…” He sighed. “My dad’s not coming to something kind of…important to me.”

She frowned. “I’m sorry.”

“I mean, I knew he wouldn’t, but… I guess I hoped things would be different now.”

“Different?”

“It’s nothing.”

By the way he looked at her, she knew she shouldn’t press. After all, there was only so much they could share without revealing their identities. “Well…” she gently patted his shoulder. “Maybe you can ask some friends to come instead.” She wished she could attend, but without knowing who he was, that would be impossible.

Sometimes, keeping their identities safe was difficult and even painful, but she knew it was better this way. Once they’d discussed it, he’d even agreed with her.

Still, as Marinette watched Adrien play at his recital, painfully aware of Gabriel Agreste’s absence, she couldn’t help but wonder if someone had gone to Chat Noir’s event to support him the way she, Nino, and Alya had attended Adrien’s recital. She hoped so.

Emma knows she shouldn’t be so worried. It’s a simple appendectomy, after all—the removal of an organ human biology deemed no longer very useful years ago. She shouldn’t be so worried, especially after the doctors assured her she brought him in just in time.

(“A few more days and we would have had a mess on our hands. You did good, Emma, even if it meant dragging him here against his will.”)

Doctors assurances don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, because it’s Killian, after all—

Killian, who spent two weeks in pain because he didn’t want to trouble her.

Killian, who sat through Henry’s ceremony in utter pain because he didn’t want to miss it.

Killian, who let his appendix almost burst because he didn’t want to be a burden.

— And yet she’d murder him herself if he didn’t make it out of this, adding a whole new meaning to the whole “til death do us part” portion of their vows.

For @abloodneed, one of the most amazing, beautiful men alive. Thank you for always being you.

There were certain things that Magnus feared. The loss of a loved one—his mind flashed to quick strides, dark hair and hazel eyes—, the loss of a friend—his breath caught at the image of dark eyes, dark hair streaked with grey, twin horns, and skin grown cold—, and the loss of his children—the downworlders he’d taken underneath his wings. His fingers dug into the oak coffee table, scouring the wood as his mind supplied him with images of everyone of them that he’d lost. Drawing in breath was hard, like he was suffocating, a direct contradiction to the cool breeze wafting into the outdoor patio of the mundane bar he’d decided to visit. Sometimes, he just needed that time to himself, amongst the mundanes that entertained him with how they scurried about in their daily lives, unaware of the world that existed in the shadows.

He did just that at the moment, watching them go about their lives when suddenly, everything… froze. From the waiter who had been heading to his table, to the lovers celebrating their recent engagement. Even the late night dog walker and her dog were frozen in place, her with a hand halfway up her hair, and the dog with his tongue half pulled into his mouth. As he took in the the sight, everyone frozen as far as he could he could see, and as he heard those footsteps, calm and unhurried, that oozing mass of power that would cower a lesser man, have them scurrying away or bending their heads in submission, Magnus came face to face with his biggest fear.

“Drinking alone,” a voice he’d heard only once in his life and had hoped he would never hear again wafted out to him, moments before the owner of the voice slid into the seat across from him. White suit—expensive as expected, stretched over a tall lanky form. “Now that doesn’t suit you Magnus,” he drawled as he casually shrugged off the jacket, undid the diamond studded cufflinks so he could roll up his sleeves and show off his forearms. Long lean fingers reached up to run through hair that was kept in place by the crown of barbed wire on his head. He waved his hands and men—shapeshifting demons, Magnus was sure—who’d accompanied him all gave them a wide berth.

“And how would you know what suits or doesn’t suit me,” Magnus tossed back as he reached for his glass of bourbon. “You don’t know me.”

The man grinned, teeth sharp in the moonlight. “Now, now Magnus. Why would you say that? Is that how you speak to your father?”

Magnus raised a brow and took a sip of his bourbon, eyes hard as he stared back at Asmodeus.

Ain’t Got Nothin’ But Love

A Highschool AU SnowBaz fic for the Carry On Valentine’s Celebration

Admittedly, it might not be entirely truthful to say that Baz joined Vocal Jazz because he loved singing.  This is not to say that he didn’t love singing, it just wasn’t something that he tended to broadcast. And yes, Vocal Jazz was a good way of coming out of his shell, breaking past that barrier of shyness when it came to his own voice, plus maybe making some friends.

However, let’s just say that Baz might not have auditioned if it weren’t for the blonde-haired blue-eyed tenor.

And maybe he didn’t get up for those early morning practices before class purely because he loved singing, but because he loved something else.  Someone else.

***

Baz was more than a little disappointed when the group was split into two for the Valentine’s Day Musical Candy Gram event.  Granted, some might find it a little overwhelming to have ten people singing at them in front of the class, but couldn’t he at least have been put in Simon’s group?

No, because the ensemble only had two basses and two tenors.  Both groups needed one of each, and Simon couldn’t miss third class.

So Baz was left to swallow his disappointment as he followed his group down the halls of Watford High, singing excerpts of Beatles songs at poor unsuspecting students.  Objectively, it was a cute little setup.  They would barge into a classroom with the chorus of “She Loves You”.  Then Trixie, one of the sopranos, would call out the names of any “lucky” students, who would then have to make their embarrassing way to the front of the room to accept a flower or a card or both from Trixie and be serenaded with “8 Days A Week”.  All in all, not horrible.  Objectively. Baz was just glad he wasn’t on the subjective side of things.

After fourth period, which he spent both quietly chuckling at the sound of his choir mates in nearby classrooms, and also praying they wouldn’t burst into his classroom or, heaven forbid, bestow a Musical Candy Gram upon him, Baz returned to the empty music room for his coat, which he had left there when the group had met at lunch.  As he buttoned up the coat, he couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit melancholy.  He hated to admit it to himself, but while singing was great, it was nothing compared to singing with Simon.  Because when he was singing with Simon it made “I’ll Be Seeing You”, their competition piece, feel different.  He wasn’t just singing words; it was more of an outlet.  Like pouring his bottled-up feelings down a drain.  They weren’t going to Simon, but at least they were going somewhere.

“She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah…”

Baz’s heart sank when all nine of his choir mates filed into the room, singing and snapping their fingers, this time directing their song at him, but he had to smile a little.

“Really?” he smirked as Trixie came forward to hand him a single rose with a card attached by a ribbon.  “Is this all necessary?”  In response, they burst into “8 Days A Week”, beaming at him like he’d won some sort of prize.  It was mortifying, but it was almost nice.

Baz snuck a glance at Simon, who was singing through a grin, and even though he knew he was probably blushing, Baz held his gaze for a few more seconds, saving the sight to replay later.

“Alright, who’s it from then?” he demanded when the others had finally finished singing.  “There’s no name on the card.”

“Oooh, a secret admirer!” squealed Trixie, but nobody had an answer for him.  Baz didn’t miss the smirk that twisted Simon’s mouth though, or how smug the boy looked when he left the room.

 ***

“You know, don’t you?”

Simon didn’t answer right away, but Baz saw his mouth twitch.  “Know what?”

“Who sent me the card and the flower yesterday.” Baz tried to sound indifferent as he trawled through the philosophy section of the library.  “I could see it on your face.”

Simon pulled a book on Aristotle off the shelf, not looking at Baz.  “It’s possible,” he drawled.  “After all, you are my best friend, I ought to know who has a crush on you.”

“What you ought to do is tell me, best friend.”

“I can’t.”

“You won’t.”

“I can’t,” Simon turned to him giggling.  “If I tell you who sent the Valentine, it would be breaking confidence.” He solemnly put one hand over his heart and one in the air by his head.  “I am under oath.”

“Under oath to whom?”

“The person who sent it, of course.”

Baz shot a look at him.  “So you’ve talked to them about it?”

“You could say that.”

“You’re being annoyingly cryptic.”

“Do you have any suspicions?”

Of course Baz had thought about it all day yesterday after school, but his mind had kept wandering back to what Baz wanted.  Because there was only one person he wanted to be behind the Valentine.

And if Baz was being honest with himself, it Simon hadn’t sent it, Baz didn’t want it.

He just shrugged.  “No one I can think of really makes sense.”

“Most love doesn’t make sense,” Simon murmured in reply, so softly that Baz thought maybe it wasn’t for him to hear.  Granted they were in a library, but still.

“Would you tell me if I guessed correctly?”

“No guarantees, but you have permission to interrogate me.  Ask away.”

“Boy or girl?”

“Hopefully a boy.”

Baz raised an eyebrow.  “What do you mean ‘hopefully’?”

“Well, in theory,” Simon stammered, “whoever sent it cares about you enough to know that you’re gay, and if it were a girl, hopefully she would respect you enough to know better than to send you a Valentine.”

Baz had to admit he had a point.  “So basically what you’re saying is that it was a boy?”

Simon smiled.  “If that’s what you think.”

A thought occurred to him.  “It wasn’t Agatha, was it?  Just to get that off the table?”

“No it was not,” Simon admitted, “that would be a bit weird.”

“Especially since she’s still carrying a torch for you,” Baz snorted, maybe a little louder than was appropriate in a library.  Simon gave a wry smile that Baz couldn’t quite interpret.

“It wasn’t her,” Simon assured him, “guess again.”

Baz was honestly stumped.  There just wasn’t anyone else who seemed even the least bit interested in him.  He had thought that maybe Dev had had feelings for him a few years earlier, but now Dev was happily involved with his girlfriend, which eliminated that possibility.

“Really?” Simon smirked.  “No one?”

“There just isn’t anyone who shows any signs of liking me like that,” Baz shrugged.

“You might be surprised at the number of people who would gladly date you.  I mean, you’re certainly not hard to look at.”

Baz shot a surprised glance at Simon, who was apparently very interested in a chapter about nihilism.  Did he just…

“Is there anyone you want it to be from?” Simon asked quickly, like he didn’t want Baz to question him further.

You.

“Yes.”

Simon looked up at him with a smile that seemed just a little bit painted, and looked back down quickly.  “You should ask them,” he said in an overly cheery voice, “you could get lucky.”

“There’s no point,” Baz shook his head.

“Why not?”

“There’s no way it was them,” he chuckled sadly, “absolutely no way.”

Simon shrugged without looking at him.  “Maybe that’s for the best.  If you never know who it was, you can just imagine that it was who you wanted it to be, and the person can just imagine that you like them back.”

Baz didn’t have an answer for that.  It sounded like an easy solution, to just let the whole thing fade away and imagine that Simon had picked out the rose with care, that he had skirted around Baz when the group prepared all the Candy Grams so that Baz wouldn’t find his own name among the Valentines. That he had done something silly like kiss the card before tying it to the bloom.

But it was too good to be true, and Baz knew it. He would never stop wondering if he didn’t find out for sure.

So he steeled himself and forced the words out of his mouth: “Was it you?”

Simon looked up at him with practiced innocence, but his eyes betrayed a touch of fear.  “Why would you think that?”

“I just had to ask,” Baz floundered, hoping he hadn’t gone as scarlet as he felt.  “So that’s a ‘no’ then?”

“… No.”

“No, what?”

“No, it’s not a ‘no’.”

Baz’s brain was going at a thousand miles per second, and yet he couldn’t for the life of him comprehend what Simon was saying. “Oh,” was his scholarly response. “So that means…”

Simon stared straight ahead into the bookcase. “I sent it.  You got me.”

“Why?”

Simon finally turned to look at him.  “Why?  Gee, I don’t know, Baz!”  He was whispering, but with so much force that it felt to Baz like he was shouting. “Maybe because in all the years we’ve been friends you have astounded me and I only just made sense of it all! Maybe because you’re brilliant and gentle and so goddamn beautiful and when you sing I never want you to stop, and even if you never found out who sent you the stupid flower or if you didn’t care, at least I would have tried to tell you how much I like you, at least I would have -”

The next sound he made was one of shock as Baz’s mouth covered his own.

The sound after that was one of oh god, finally because Baz had him backed against the philanthropy section and was tangling his fingers in Simon’s curls, burying his lips in heat and need and oh, this is what all the hype is about and it was a million times better than Simon could have hoped for.

“Under oath to whom, again?” Baz teased against Simon’s lips, and Simon laughed lightly as he snaked his arms around Baz’s neck, already desperate for more.

“You got me,” he whispered, reaching up for Baz’s mouth again, and Baz couldn’t help but grin as Simon pulled him down to meet him.  Baz angled his head and deepened the kiss, a low sigh escaping his throat.  In the back of his head he remembered the rose and the card, and took to moment to appreciate the fact that he wouldn’t be throwing them away after all before setting up a long, slow rhythm against Simon’s mouth like they had all the time in the world.

“Hi Laur,” He says in surprise, a smile spreading across his face, and now you turn your attention to the girl and her friends. You recognize the one in the middle from old pictures you’ve seen on the internet. She’s Shawn’s ex and she’s gorgeous, no doubt. You don’t know how Shawn could possibly choose you over her. You wonder if he ever regrets it, if he ever sees pictures of her and misses her, or wishes he was still with her instead of with you. You always knew she was pretty, but you had never met her in person until today, and it wasn’t even intentional so you weren’t able to prepare yourself.

That evening, you brought Jun back to your apartment, unsure where he’d be left out on the streets if the police figured out what he was.

You still struggled to fully grasp what he was also, but you were at least willing to learn and keep it a secret as well. Parking the car out front, it wasn’t raining as you stepped outside anymore, but the wind was harshly blowing, which wasn’t any better for your cold.

Jun seemed to notice this, as upon your first sneeze, he called out from inside the car, “Are you alright?"

After all, he couldn’t get out. The car door handle was still broken.

Opening the door, you nodded, watching Jun quickly step out and wrap his arms around you. "Your body temperature is quite cold. I shall warm you up.” The gesture would have been sweet, but it was already late and you were still out in public. “Um, Jun–,” you stammered, trying to close the car door while still in his embrace. “—we need to get inside."

Jun’s temperature sensors really did the trick, as once you were inside, you no longer felt freezing from your cold.

The boy-bot stared around, curious about the abode. "Make yourself at home, I guess. Are you hungry? Wait, do robots need to eat?"

"I am actually completely self-sufficient,” Jun replied. “There is no need for me to eat, sleep, shower, or rest at any time.” You sighed in relief, knowing that you would still only mainly need to provide for yourself at best.

“Wait, so if I asked you to eat, would that be impossible?"

"No, I could eat. I simply don’t need to."

"Oh. Well, what about your battery? Something robotic has to have a battery, right?” Jun pointed to the back of his neck, where you could see a small indentation sticking out.

You pressed it, and a control panel popped out, with different stats that confused you the more you tried to understand them. Regardless, the word ’battery’ was there, and next to it was a 99% symbol, so you assumed he’d be okay for quite a while.

In fact, most of the control panel looked like this:

Model: JW61096
Version: 1.0
Current status: idle
Battery: 99% (5.5 months left)
ES: 2% discovered
HC: Not in progress

You weren’t sure what HC or ES stood for, but you noticed two ports and a button on the outside of the panel.

One of them must be to charge him, you thought. ‘Reset’ sat under the button, which you refused to press.

Closing the panel, Jun sat up once again, looking at you attentively. “Did you find everything you need to know?” You nodded. “Just a few more things. How long does your battery last?” “Six months."

You blinked. That was already a long period of time. "How do I charge you?” “Most cords work, however, I believe your cellular device’s charger would function.” “How long?” “Five to ten minutes.” “It takes you five to ten minutes to charge up to 6 months?!"

Well, that’s bizarre

It was already close to 9 pm at that point, and being accustomed to sleeping earlier, you yawned, drowsy. A pair of strong arms picked you up bridal style, and you yelped at Jun, who replied, "My love is tired, she must go to bed.” He held a strong grasp, “Wait, wait, but we didn’t get to talk about—” Jun stopped in his tracks, still mid-hallway.

“Why’d you stop?"

"You said wait, my love."

Groaning, you forgot how literal he was to your every move. "Take me to my room and we’ll talk about it there.”

You had to admit, being carried around by Jun wasn’t half bad, especially if he was willing to do it. He didn’t break a sweat, nor make any sounds of struggling.

Opening the door to your bedroom, you turned on the light, Jun sitting down on the bed, you still in his arms. “Jun. You can put me down now."

"Is that what you want?" Honestly, no

He put you down anyway, a bit to your disappointment. "So this apartment has two bed rooms, but the other one’s kind of empty.."

"Going into sleep mode helps me save battery,” he murmured.

“Good, because from now on, you’ll be sleeping anywhere from 7-9 hours at night every night."

"I do what my love asks,” he replied with a golden smile. “Where will I be sleeping?"

You don’t have any other beds in the apartment, and the couch in the den is not only small, but it’s cold at night in the den, and you don’t own many blankets…

You sighed. "You’ll just have to sleep in here with me, I guess. Just until we find you a new bed!"

Jun cheered. "I’m so happy, I get to sleep with my love Y/N in her bed!” The happiness was truly an innocent type, the bot’s naivety coming out to play again. Emotional sensors rising..

“I don’t know what I’m going to about Nayoung’s car, though..” You checked your phone, and you had a few stray calls and messages from both her and Wonwoo. Jun rose from the bed. “I will be back, my love,” he chimed, and left the room.

You heard the front door open and close, and gasped, watching him through the window as he walked towards Nayoung’s car. He walked with a normal gait, making him look even more normal. It was dark, and you couldn’t see much of what was going on except for Jun crouched against the car door. It took him only thirty seconds to close the door and walk back towards the apartment.

The front door opened and closed again, the lock clicking.

“I fixed it, my love!"

Eyebrows furrowed, you ran out to the hallway, where Jun stood, a smile on his face. "It is all fixed, so please tell Nayoung that she has no reason to worry."

You gaped. "What kind of weird robot tools did you use to fix that?” Jun cocked his head to the side. “Weird to you, possibly, but not to me. How is your sickness doing, my love?"

You sniffled. "It could be better,” you wiped your nose on your jacket, “but I thought we were going to call me by my first name now?"
Jun gasped in horror, bowing and apologizing. "I forgot, please forgive me!"

Coughing, you laughed a little. He’s not real, right? "I guess it’s okay if you call me by that in private.. but not in public! People will give you weird looks if you start yelling 'my love’ everywhere."

 Jun rose, and nodded. "Understood.”

While spending a little more time with Jun, you learned that his brain worked as a database; he compiled information as much as he could inside it. He didn’t lack emotions, but he hadn’t discovered most of them yet, nor has he had the chance to understand the ones he has already.

You also learned that he was a master chef, and did most things efficiently and quickly. While he planned on making you a four-course meal with a massage, you went against that, instead asking him for toast and some meds for your cold.

(He had to look up what toast was; “Burnt bread?” “Not burned. There’s a toaster in the kitchen.”)

While he took care of that, you changed out of your work clothes, swapping them for comfy pjs.

Thankfully, Jun walked in as soon as you were done changing. “Common courtesy is to knock, Jun.”

“Noted.”

You were nearly ready to snuggle into bed, until you realized; Jun was still dressed in the same clothes from two days ago, and he had to sleep in your bed right next to you..

Scurrying to your drawers, you looked for any old clothes or oversized shirts that would hopefully fit the boy-bot. He cocked his head to the side in curiosity as he watched.

Finding one of your largest shirts and a pair of sweatpants that were three times your size, you handed them to Jun, who took them tentatively, probably doing research. “Go change, we’ll need to wash those clothes sometime soon.”

You paused, gasping.

“Are you wearing underwear?”

The boy-bot blinked.

“Give me a moment while I do my research on underwear.”

It took fifteen minutes to at least find something that looked like a pair of boxers, and then you sent him to your bathroom. “Change!”

You stood outside the door in case he needed help. A question had suddenly crossed your mind; one you didn’t want to ask.

“J-Jun..?”

“Yes, my love?” he called from inside, voice muffled by the door.

“Do you have a..?” you struggled to find the right word.

“A…?”

You looked down at your fingertips, shy. “A r-reproductive organ..?”

The door opened, and in the doorway stood Jun, looking unfazed by your question. “Yes, I do. Why do you ask?”

Jun looked more decent now, wearing one of your brother’s old college shirts, and a pair of sweatpants which were loose enough on him, thanks to his lanky exterior.

“H-how is that even possible? You’re a robot, are you supposed to have those kinds of organs?”

“Well, I was doing my research, and I believe I identify better with the term ‘android’. Mostly because I looked up ‘human robots’ and got negative responses, with bots that looked nothing like me. Androids seemed to be better received. And I do have human skin, and am supposed to operate like a human, so it’s only important that I have the organ as well. I can’t reproduce, my love, but I will do my best to satisfy you in case that day ever comes,” Jun rambled, grabbing both your hands.

He was kind of right, android sounded cooler than robot. When you thought of robot, you thought of something metalloid with hinges and sensors that beeped every second.

The ‘pleasing’ part caused you to whimper a little, only because of how vulgar it sounded.

“Trust me Jun,” you stared at him, “humans take a long time in relationships before they ever get to.. that stage.”

Having eaten your toast and taken your medicine, you only inspected that the back and front doors were locked, and that Nayoung’s car was also locked and still in your driveway. You considered texting Wonwoo to make sure that Nayoung was alright, but he was most likely already asleep himself, and you could see his car in the driveway all the way from the apartment’s front window.

Jun lied on your bed, still making interested noises with the familiar teen girl magazine that you’d bought for him in his hands.

Looking up, he grinned, watching you stand in the doorway. “Is it time for sleep now, my love?”

“Pretty much. How do you go into sleep mode?” you asked.

“Almost like a normal human would. I close my eyes for 30 seconds, and I am asleep.”

You turned the light in the room off, feeling the need of sleep for once. “If you’re going to be staying here, we’re going to have to buy you more clothes,” you yawned mid-sentence, feeling sleep want to take you over as you slipped under the covers of the bed.

“That seems like a nice idea,” Jun muttered quietly, turning towards you. “You look tired. Sleep, my love. I won’t sleep until you will.”

“Goodnight Jun,” you murmured, resting into the comfy mattress of your bed. Turning off the lights didn’t do much for the android himself, as he had night vision to rely on, but feeling the peaceful atmosphere of the room, and hearing the light patter of rain against the window once more, Jun was certain he had learned a new emotion—calmness.

“Goodnight, Y/N,” he replied, and felt his internal sensors shutting down, entering the human-like sleep mode. Breathing enabled.. database shut down, bodily functions paused.

In your dreams that night, you dreamed of a particular boy-bot, one with a shining smile, and a mind that was both innocently naive but also incredibly smart.

The following morning, you were the one to wake up first, and you almost forgot that Jun was 75% metal. His mouth was slightly parted open, and you could hear distinct breathing, along with his chest rising up and down.

You hesitantly reached a hand out to touch his hair, which was surprisingly soft. It was a chestnut color, combed in a floppy way, however now it was all over the pillows as the boy peacefully slept.

The attention to detail of this creation still had you questioning why he was tossed aside in a dumpster, as you could make out the gentle callouses on his fingertips, the length of his eyelashes, and his pillowy, soft-looking skin.

You grazed the side of his face with your hand, gasping quietly at how soft and realistic his skin truly felt.

A knock at the door interrupted your thoughts, and you scoffed. It was Saturday morning, so you had no shifts until the afternoon, and even then, those were optional.

Being cautious not to wake the boy-bot up as you stepped out of bed (after all, you weren’t sure what would and what wouldn’t wake him up), you put on a pair of slippers, making your way towards the front door.

Opening it, you sighed. “Hello?”

“Morning to you too,” Wonwoo snorted, taking in your appearance. “It’s eleven and you’re still dressed like that?”

It’s already 11 am? Damn. “And so what if I am? Did you need something?”

“Actually I did, Nayoung crashed the fuck out at my place yester—” “My love?” Another voice called out.

Wonwoo’s eyebrows raised, and he stared at the floor awkwardly. You turned, only to see Jun standing close behind you, bedhead wild, and even worse, shirtless.

“Well.. nice turn of events. Nayoung wants her car back, by the way. She’s at my place right now, but she’s still sleeping, so I thought I’d stop by, but uh, you seem to be busy,” Wonwoo said, awkwardly scratching the back of his head.

Gaping, you realized how bad this looked. “It’s not what it looks like! He just—”

“Nah, I got it. Uh, pop in when you have the chance, yeah?”

He waved, and it almost seemed like he speed-walked back to his own apartment, shutting the door with a slam.

Closing your own door, you looked at Jun, who stared aimlessly. “Why are you shirtless?”

“When I woke up, I was starting to overheat, so I took it off.”

You sighed. “Jun..” “Was that your coworker?” You nodded. “He lives right next door.”

“It would seem I’ve done something wrong again?” he asked, a somber tone in his voice.

“No, no, no, it’s fine,” you quickly muttered, rushing over to Jun. “It was just bad timing, is all. People think it’s weird when you answer the door late and then have a guy come up behind you without his shirt on.”

“Really? I will make note of that as I make breakfast.”

Jun was surprisingly a good cook, although you wondered if his skills would have been the same provided he was human. You didn’t have many groceries, but he was able to make a decent omelette and pancakes with what you did have.

Needless to say, it was a lot better than eating instant ramen.

“Considering I don’t know where else to take you, you’ll have to stay here at home,” you said between mouthfuls of egg.

Jun looked at you in horror. “At home.. away from you? Is that safe?”

You nodded. “Should be fine, as long as you don’t go anywhere.”

Jun thought about it. “I do not think I feel safe leaving you there alone. However, research I am doing shows low statistics of assault, and forums say that any responsible boyfriend lets their beloved come and go as they please if they truly trust them. I trust you, my love!”

The sheepish smile on his face was adorable.

“I will miss you dearly, my love,” Jun chimed, watching you standing in the doorway. You laughed. “I’ll only be gone for a few hours Jun, and Nayoung will both take and bring me back. If anything happens, you can dial my phone with the number I told you. Remember it?”

He recited the number perfectly. Perks of having an automatic brain.

Once you were gone, Jun looked around him, still unfamiliar with many of the objects in the apartment. “Time to do research,” he mumbled.

For once, you weren’t on register duty for once, and you calmly made conversation with both Nayoung and Wonwoo for most of your shift.

“So Y/N,” Nayoung pressed, leaning over the counter, “how did yesterday go? You never called me back.”

You scoffed. “I returned your car, didn’t I?” Shoving chip bags into aisles, Wonwoo laughed. “Her boytoy spent the night with her.”

That emit a gasp from Nayoung. “Y/N!”

Shut up,” you hissed at Wonwoo, who had a shit-eating grin on his face. Turning back to Nayoung, you placed your hands on the counter. “It’s not like that,” you began, “Won’s just mad because he didn’t get to see me all pretty for once.”

The male snorted. “Since when do you call me Won?”

“Since when do you care about my love life?” Scoffing, he shoved a bag into your hands. “I don’t.”

“We’re not done, Y/N,” Nayoung playfully sang. “We are so talking about this later.”

“Later? Like over text?”

She laughed. “No, silly! We’re going out for drinks later.”

“A reminder neither me nor Y/N are legal,” Wonwoo pointed out, raising his eyebrows at a box of condoms.

The oldest sighed. “Fine. We’ll grab a few slushies from here and hang out back at your place,” she replied, looking at you.

“My place? I don’t think so.”

“Why not?” Nayoung whined. She gasped. “Don’t tell me… he wasn’t just a one night stand!”

You didn’t see it, but Wonwoo’s head whipped around, and he gripped the box he was holding tighter.

“Aw! Y/N! I’m so happy for you,” she yelled, running over to hug you. “It only took you a month to get a boyfriend!”

You groaned. “He’s not my boyfriend! We didn’t even do anything! Honestly, I’m not even sure what we are.. but that doesn’t matter! Neither of you are allowed over until I say so!”

Nayoung pouted. “Bullshit. But fine, have it your way. At least tell us what his name is!”

“Wen Junhui,” you replied, sweeping up dust off the floor.

“That doesn’t sound Korean.”

“Isn’t Wen the name of that rich owner of some Chinese company?” Wonwoo asked, suddenly now more interested in the conversation then in honey butter chips.

“Ooh, I think so! Do you think he’s rich? Oooooh, Y/N, you scored yourself a good one!”

“Thanks,” you replied flatly.

After your shifts, the three of you each got a slushie. Since yesterday, your cold seemed to have worn off, and the weather was pleasant enough, far nicer than it had been days ago.

Wonwoo was the one who drove you back home, since Nayoung couldn’t actually come over after all (”I have family issues!”), and you lived right next door, it wasn’t much of a problem. The three of you all seemed to be growing closer with each other at a rapid rate.

“So he isn’t your boyfriend, then?” Wonwoo asked, eyes seemingly focus on the road. “N-no, I wouldn’t say so.”

“You sound like you’re lying.” “How would you know that?”

Wonwoo chuckled. “Wow, always so feisty. You’ll be a challenge for him.”

The car pulled up in the driveway of the apartments, and getting out of the car, you thanked him for the ride. “See you later!”

“Yeah, I will be,” he waved passively, disappearing inside his apartment.

“What kind of a response is that?” you asked. Shaking your head, you opened the door to your own apartment, which still appeared in pristine condition, the boy nowhere to be found. Locking the door behind you, you removed your jacket, setting your slushie down on the table.

“Jun, I’m home,” you shouted into the hallway. “In here, my love!”

You pushed the door to the den open, and the sight that greeted you couldn’t have been any more adorable.

Jun was sitting, legs crossed on the couch, watching a drama on your laptop.

“You left your laptop open, so I figured I would take a look. I’ve already mastered its usage!” He looked proud of himself.

“That’s good,” you replied, ruffling his hair. Still soft. “At first, I was only watching these to help me memorize human behavior, but I think they’re also helping me with speech patterns as well,” he noted, pausing the drama on the screen.

“It sure sounds like it, you sound a lot more understandable,” you noticed. “You learn this much in only one afternoon?”

He nodded. “I promised you I would be the ideal lover, and that is what I plan on doing!”

Jun’s cheesiness was as usual as ever, but you’d be a liar if you said it wasn’t working on you.

“I brought you something new to try, if you’re interested.” “Always!”

He followed you out into the hallway, eyes widening at the drink on the table. “That is a very dark shade of blue.”

You put the straw up to his lips. “Try it!”

He tentatively closed his mouth over the straw, and you watched as he calmly sucked some of it up, pulling away from it afterwards. “Artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, water, and raspberry flavoring.”

“You can tell all of that just from tasting it?”

“No, I looked up the ingredient list in my head while drinking it.”

Giggling, you shoved his shoulder lightly. “You’re such a nerd.”

Jun gasped, and you stopped. “What?”

“She did that in the drama too!”

Sighing in relief, you glanced at the clock on the kitchen stove. It wasn’t too late, but considering tomorrow was your day off, you didn’t feel too much of a need to sleep.

“Time for sleep already?” Jun asked, taking another sip.

“Not if you don’t want to, but we should probably try looking for some other clothes for you..” you drawled, noticing he was still wearing the same pajamas from last night.

Rummaging through your drawers and through other boxes you hadn’t unpacked yet, you discovered an old black and yellow striped sweater. It looked hideous on you, but when Jun pulled it on himself, it looked decent, great even. That would become one of his usual outfit tops until he went shopping for other clothes (or until you took him), along with the dark jeans he’d shown up in.

He still lacked underwear though, and you stammered, unsure what to do about that.

“Should I flip it inside out?” “That’s disgusting, no.”

For now, shorts replaced boxers, and another pair of your old pajama pants went on top.

“This will have to do for tonight.”

Throwing his other clothes in the dirty laundry pile, you stared at Jun. You hated to say it, but it was only the second day and you were already growing fond of him, unsure if you wanted to let him live anywhere else.

He noticed, and laughed. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

You blinked, looking away quickly. “No reason.” He laughed again, a cheerful, human-sounding laugh. “Bed now?”

You nodded. “Yeah. Bed.”

“Taking references from a few of the dramas I watched,” Jun muttered, “I saw some typical character tropes and I was wondering if you could tell me which one of their personalities suits me best.”

You nodded in understanding. “Go for it.”

“Well, there was the smooth, suave and mature type. He seemed to always have everything under control.”

You shook your head. Doesn’t really fit Jun.

Well, then there was the overtly sweet and caring type. He let himself get stepped on all throughout the drama.”

You shook your head again. Still doesn’t fit him, except for the overly caring part.

He blinked. “Then there was the charming and playful type. The drama called it the ‘Boy Next Door’ type.”

Bingo.

You nodded your head in favor of that one. “Personally, I think that one would suit you best, but it’s really up to you which personality you want to adjust to. This is still a little weird to me, but I want you to have a little bit of your own mental freedom as well, Jun.”

He beamed, and you knew he understood what you meant. “That’s quite kind of you. I thank you for that, my love.”

Idle talk in the dark carried on for another twenty minutes until the two of you muttered your mutual ‘goodnight’s, lulling yourselves to sleep, Jun even feeling a bit more human by the end of it.

From what the both of you knew at this point, the world was at peace.

hoLY SHIT THIS CHAPTER WAS LONG AND IM TIRED

so originally i had this cut after the part where they go to sleep the first night but that made the chapter way too short and i was NOT posting a filler chapter no thank u

unfortunately the continuation of it led to this lengthy nonsense which i hope was enjoyable

hopefully i’m not panning out jun’s character development too quickly—i’m not trying to have this story pan out over 2 years, and he is a robot so i’m trying to have his character develop as quickly as i can

anyway mostly slice of life stuff in this chapter but more action is def coming up soon i promisseeee

(also updates wont be this close in between each other so enjoy it while it lasts)

Swan queen prompt: Regina finally found a way to reverse the potion that didn't let her have children and is thinking of getting pregnant, then emma finds out and gets jealous because "YOU'RE ONLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE CHILDREN WITH ME"

(Well then, this came out a lot different than I expected. But here we go!)

Down in her vault, Regina flipped constantly through pages of various spellbooks. Her potions sprawled out over the place. Books thrown around the floor around her. Candles lit up to keep the light. Some almost completely burnt out as the wax trickled down onto the cobblestone it sat on. Regina herself sitting on the ground looking exasperated. Her face flushed, bags under her eyes from the lack of sleep.

“Useless… why did I do this to myself…” she muttered under her breath. “For what? To spite my own mother?”

She shook her head as it dropped down. “I can’t keep doing this…” her voice lowered exhaustively. Lids finally closing tightly over her eyes. Regina slunk down to her right side in a deep sleep. Finally, all her research and lack of sleep had caught up to her.

“Mom?” a teenage voice called out as Henry entered the vault. Stepping further inside he saw his mother collapsed on the ground. Quick to her side he checked to see if she was alright. A sigh of relief to find that she was just sleeping.

Shaking his head he looked around seeing all the books surrounding her. “Oh geez, mom….” Henry sighed as he sat down beside her. Stroking his hand over her head, through her hair. “What have you been doing down here?” he asked quietly.

Fingers brushing over the pages of the opened books. Brows furrowed as he picked up one of the books setting it on his lap. “What’s…this?” his eyes scrolled over the words, fingers tracing with as he mumbled under his breath. “Mom…” he sat down the book in front of him. Shaking Regina slightly, “Mom, we need to go home so you can sleep.”

Groaning Regina’s eyes fluttered open. “Henry it’s late…”

Laughing at her he rested his hands on his knees. “Not really, it’s actually only after seven in the morning.”

Shooting up from the ground Regina looked around. “Did I fall asleep here?” he clenched her teeth tightly. Another failed night of research…

“Yeah you did and I got really worried about you. Wasn’t sure where you were so I asked mom and grandma if they knew. Since they didn’t know I assumed you were either here or at your office…” Henry said as calmly as he could, a hint of worry lingering in the back of his tone. “Mom, what’s going on anyways? What have you been doing down here? I thought you stopped with magic…”

Sighing Regina rubbed her head as an oncoming migraine was beginning to form. Biting down on her bottom lip she looked at Henry. Large sad brown eyes as she took a deep breath. “I was trying to find a way to reverse a potion I took long ago… So far I’ve been coming up empty…”

“What potion was it?” he asked her curiously.

“To spite my mother… I took a potion that would leave me infertile… so I may never have children…” she said quietly.

“Oh…” Henry reached back down to the book in front of him. Handing it to his mother. “Is this what you were looking for then?”

Regina quick to take the book skimmed over the spell. Tears building in the corners of her eyes causing them to swell up she sat down the book. Reaching to wrap her arms around Henry. “Yes.. how did you….?” she choked out the words.

Returning the much-needed embrace Henry smiled teary eyed himself. “It was opened next to you… you probably didn’t notice it when you fell asleep.”

Pulling away Regina wiped her tears. Picking up the book she collected herself as she stood up tall. Walking over to the cauldron and potions she began to mix the ingredients it called for. “Thank you.” she said looking over her shoulder as Henry approached beside her.

“Welcome, mom.” he smiled as he watched her make the hopeful reverse potion.

As it finished mixing together Regina poured it into a vile. Looking at Henry who’d been by her side waiting for her. “Well, here it goes…” she smiled faintly. Anxiously she pressed her hand against her stomach while drinking the vile in her other hand.

“Did it work?” he asked as they left the vault.

Shoving a hand into her coat pocket, the other wrapped around Henry. “I don’t know…”

“Well do you feel different?”

She smiled at him and kissed the top of his head. “Yes… actually, I do.”

LATER……

Brushing her hands nervously over her black dress Regina took in a deep breath. “I can do this… I’m… excited to do this….” she whispered to herself before opening the door to Granny’s. The Charming family sitting at their usual booth Regina walked over taking a seat next to Henry.

“So what did you want to talk about? You seemed so excited when you stopped by the station.” Emma said looking over at her with a smile. A hint of curiosity hidden behind it. She hadn’t been able to figure out what Regina was so excited about since she stopped by to see her. Her heart fluttering when they exchanged a long tight embrace.

Crossing her leg over the other, fingers entwined as they rested on her knee. “Well, I have exciting news…” She took in a deep breath before looking at all the curious faces.

“It’s okay mom, just tell them.” Henry said reassuringly.

Emma nudging him, “Kid you know what this is about?”

“Yeah, I helped her out today with it all.”

“With what all?” Emma’s smile soon faded into concern as she looked to Regina.

“Well…. Emma.. everyone… I found a potion to reverse the one I took ages ago… I can now have children… I had stopped off at the hospital afterward to make sure it worked… and… it did!” Regina grinned from ear to ear. “So I was looking into having treatments of some sort since… let’s face it I’m never going to find my true love.” she said bitterly. “So this is the next best thing.”

Snow and David’s smiles stretched widely from ear to ear in the excitement of the news. “Regina! That’s wonderful news! We’re so happy for you! If you need anything, anything at all just let us know.”

Snow extended out her hand to rest upon Regina’s.

“Thank you, Snow, David.” Regina grinned nodding at them. Her heart pounding against her chest soon to halt at the sight of Emma’s expression. “Emma?” she asked worriedly. “Is everything alright?”

Biting down tightly on her bottom lip Emma nodded. Her voice low as she gestured for Henry to move from the booth to let her out. “Yeah, everything’s great. I’m happy for you. I just… remembered something is all.” She swallowed back after giving a quick faint smile. “I’m sorry, I have to go. Good luck. Regina.” she said with a final smile. This one sadder than the others before. Emma gripped tightly onto her red leather jacket as she stepped back turning around facing the door.

Regina puzzled at Emma’s reaction. Feeling her heart as if it was ripped from her chest.

Snow’s brows furrowed as she watched her daughter. Passing baby Neal to David she slid out from the booth. “Just give me one moment please.” she said excusing herself.

Her footing quickened as she headed out the door. Stopping and crossing her arms as she saw Emma standing at the edge of the sidewalk. Hearing her sobs. “Emma?” Snow stepped a little closer towards her daughter. Seeing the tears flooding down her cheeks as she turned to her. “Emma, what’s wrong?”

“It’s not that…I’m not happy for her.” She replied wiping her tears. Stiffening her posture. “I really am… I’m just….”

“Just what? Emma, I’m not unde—”

“Of course you don’t understand.” Emma spat out shaking her head. “I’m thrilled for her. How can I not be? I LOVE HER. I’m just wishing that I could have known and been beside her when she was staying up late looking for a way to reverse this. To be the person that was beside her looking into treatments. TO BE HER TRUE LOVE. IT SHOULD BE MY CHILD SHE IS HAVING. I mean, why not? We have Henry together…”

“Swan?”

Emma’s eyes shot back over from behind her mother. Seeing Regina pacing elegantly toward her. A blushing smile shining brightly as she approached her. “Do you really feel that way?”

“Yes of course I do,” Emma said staring into brown eyes.

One final step, tears building the corners of her eyes. Cupping her hands over Emma’s cheeks she smiled even wider. “Then let’s start a family together.” She said before pressing her red lips against Emma’s.

buttonfanatic  asked:

Lance is crazy good at play fighting and pulling punches, he probably had a lot of younger siblings or younger cousins growing up and he didn't want to actually hurt them (Also he probably took some drama classes). So basically imagine someone sparing hand to hand combat with him (lets just say Keith for simplicity's sake) and lance is about to get a lucky shot in, his fist flying right towards Keith's face, and he just stops it a millimeter before contact and triumphantly declares that he won

Yessss

Lance always played with his younger siblings and cousins when they were around for the holidays.

He prefered playing with them over his older relatives since he could have more fun with them.

By the time Lance was 12 he had mastered play fighting and could make a punch look real but he never hit anyone.

It was always fun, Lance always felt important when he played with them because the kids would always beg for more and wouldn’t let him leave.

-

Lance had forgotten about his skill when he left for the Garrison, he didn’t exactly need it anymore.

Lance focused on his studies and piloting and make sure he stayed a fighter pilot.

-

When Lance found himself in space with two aliens and his hero who went missing for a year he started to remember his skill.

He only remember at first when he would think back to his family on nights when he couldn’t sleep. Homesickness consuming him so his eyes wouldn’t shut.

Lance didn’t mind though, the memories were nice, he missed playing with them.

-

“Lance and Keith! You two are going to be partners in hand-to-hand combat training today.” Shiro spoke to both of the boys and moved to tell Hunk and Pidge what he needed to do.

“I guess it’s you and me mullet.” Lance silently laughed as they walked to the area reserved for them.

“Guess so, but don’t hold back alright?” Keith sifted into positions, fist raised.

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Lance gave a sly smile and copy Keiths position and they were off.

Even though Lance didn’t look it, he was almost as skilled as Keith. Lance usually faced people calling him weak simply because he wasn’t buff. But Lance could still pack a punch.

The more the two boys fought, the more Lance kept seeing his younger relatives in Keith’s position. Lance swung over Keith’s head and thought he saw his little brother.

Lance went to kick Keith away but saw his little cousin. Every time Lance went to hit Keith he saw his relatives.

He couldn’t hurt them. Even when Keith’s fist collided with Lance and his boot hit his stomach Lance didn’t make contact with Keith’s body.

Keith was obviously getting aggravated with how Lance would avoid hitting him when he treated him like a punching bag.

Lance would always move his fist or feet a few inches off so he wouldn’t hit Keith.

Then it happened, Lance managed to knock Keith down. Before Keith could stand up Lance had his knees on both side of Keiths hips, pinning him down.

Lance rose his fist and started to bring it down. Keith closed his eyes, anticipating when the pain would come, but it never did. Keith slowly opened his eyes and say Lance’s fist a few centimeters from his cheek.

Lance smiled “ I won.” Lance got off Keith and extended his hand to the raven haired boy.

Keith took his hand and stood up. “How did you win? You didn’t even hit me.”

“Well back at my house I would always ‘fight’ with my siblings and I would never hit them So it’s just a habit I suppose.” Lance scratched his neck avoiding Keith’s gaze.

“But I’m not one of your siblings or relatives.” Keith was slightly confused. None of it added up.

“No, you may not be a blood relative, but you are family. All of you are, and I would never hurt my family.” Lance gave Keith a small pat on the back and made his way over to Shiro to tell him they were done.

I hope you like it!!!

Sorry it took so long!!

Thank you!!!

Hello, Aga from Poland. :D I really love your fics. If you have time I have a prompt: It’s Derek birthday after he leaves town and Stiles drunk dialing. Bonus if Sheriff walks in and take his phone and wishes Derek happy birthday.

Oh, thank you!! <3

Since the fandom’s pretty much agreed that Derek’s birthday is on Christmas, I decided to use that here. Hope you enjoy!!

He’s had entirely too much eggnog to be left alone with his phone. His dad should know that. His friends should definitely know that.

But Scott’s busy, caught up in some kind of mating dance with Allison that involves hanging out awkwardly in doorways under the mistletoe and sending her sad eyes, and Lydia’s keeping Allison company at the other side of the room while she sends covert, longing glances back. His dad’s laughing with Melissa with that love-struck sort of look that’s been building up in his eyes for years long now, and probably hadn’t even noticed Stiles swiping the bottle, adding way too much rum after he’d ducked back into the kitchen with it. It’s a holiday, after all, and he’s allowed to have a drink to celebrate.

His dad just didn’t specify how much drink the drink was allowed to have.

So when Stiles ends up in his bedroom, staring at his phone, it’s everyone’s fault, really, and no one’s. Honestly it feels kind of inevitable. Him lying in his room, on the outskirts of the mating dances, scrolling idly through his contact list until he pauses on a familiar number. He has it memorized even though he probably shouldn’t, but this might not be the first time he’s opened up his contact list to stare at it these past few weeks. To look at the name typed out over the digits, to wonder at the way so few letters can leave his chest writhing with so many unresolved feelings.

He lifts his thumb, brushes across the short word fondly, and jumps as the phone registers an attempt to call and starts dialing.

Stiles seriously shouldn’t be surprised that it happened. He’s a clumsy, melancholy drunk, and it’s about time he accepts it.

The phone continues to ring while he stares, transfixed, at the tiny image of a phone blinking on his screen. Connecting… connecting…

It’s the phone’s fault, he decides. That stupid, sensitive touch screen, stirring up trouble by calling people it has no business in calling, just because Stiles had been maybe brushing his thumb across that name, thinking about hearing that stupid grumpy voice. And so maybe he’d been imagining the smooth screen was a rough, stubble-covered jaw, been half lost in imagining what it might feel like under his fingers… but that’s no reason for his phone to go ahead and call him.

And Derek’s surprised too, it seems like, because while Stiles is busy scowling at the stupid device, he answers, and there’s a startled lilt in his voice when he says Stiles’ name.

Stiles should probably just say he’d dialed the wrong number, or shoot out a quick, cheerful “Merry Christmas” and let that be that.

“You’re not here,” is what slips out instead, his hands clenching a little, his lips twisting into a pout that probably carries into his tone.

There’s a short silence from Derek’s end, and then an amused huff of air.

“Are you just noticing that?”

Shy

Hello, Love bugs.

Draco X Reader

Hi could I get a Draco x reader where the reader is shy towards Draco which he just finds adorable :) - @nicolesyneah25

It feels like you just can’t escape him. Every class you have he is there. Every time you walk around the grounds you seem to run into him. You have always had a crush on Draco. Since the day you met him on the train you knew you were going to be caught up in him. Even when he was a royal ass to everyone you knew that he was sweet deep down.

He constantly makes you blush when the two of you lock eyes. Usually, it’s when he catches you staring out into space. Space happens to be his face but that’s not the point. The worst was in the third year potions class. He had heard a rumour that you may have a small crush on you. Being Draco he simply waltzed up to you with grace and confidence. It didn’t help that he was wearing his famous smirk as he made his way up to make you flustered beyond belief.

For the prompt thing, pretty please 10 or 29 or both in one 🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is kind of the opposite of what I wrote yesterday. So here be fluff and nothing but fluff. It’s a sequel to this (sappy) prompt. But you can read it on its own as well. Thank you for the prompt!

10. “I can never unsee that.” + 29. “Y-you love me?”

When Mulder finds himself in the car en route to Mrs. Scully’s house, he is not sure when it happened.

Or how.

But here he is, in the passenger seat, forced to listen to classical music that’s supposed to be calming. That’s what Scully told him 20 minutes ago, anyway. She’s quiet, tapping along on the steering wheel while Mulder keeps trying to come up with something clever to say. Or really anything. He has questions, plenty of them, but he doesn’t ask any of them. Why am I here, Scully? He would like to know. Why do I have to see your brother twice in one day? Mulder grows agitated just thinking about it.

Why did you kiss me earlier, Scully? That’s the one he really wants to know about.

In good old Mulder and Scully fashion, they haven’t talked about it. The kiss. It’s been hours and Scully hasn’t mentioned it once. If he didn’t know better, he’d think it never happened. Just a figment of his vast imagination. He’s imagined kissing Scully a million times over the years. But no; it definitely happened. Her hands were on his thighs, he can almost feel them still, and her lips grazed his oh so softly. Oh yeah. It happened.

“You’re awfully quiet.” Scully says in between songs. As if the music should not be interrupted.

“I thought you wanted me to shut up.”

“That was… earlier.” Mulder thinks he sees her blush.

“Yeah well, I didn’t know when you wanted me to stop.” Mulder cracks open a sunflower seed, realizing how hungry he is. With her kissing him and then convincing him to go with her to her mother’s made him forget everything else. Like having lunch.

“About the time I – never mind.” The kiss, he thinks, suppressing a smile. She certainly shut him up with that.

“You mean the… you know.” Here he is complaining that Scully doesn’t mention their foray into new, more intimate territory and he finds himself shying away as well.

“It wasn’t fun, Mulder.” Oh.

“I’m sorry, Scully, I didn't… you started it. I just – then why did you ask me to come with you to your mother’s? If I’m no fun.” Mulder sounds bitter; he tries not to, but what can he do? He’s been wanting to kiss Scully for ages and when they finally do, she hates it.

“That’s why,” she tells him, her voice even, her eyes on the road, “You made fun of me. You know I thought you had something important to tell me and you let me believe it, Mulder.” Oh, again. She wasn’t talking about the kiss at all.

“Scully, I’m sorry. Your brother unnerves me,” he sees her nod in agreement, “He said all these things and then when you finally showed up at the office I felt like… I just wanted you to know there was something to come back to. As stupid as it was.”

“An espresso machine in accounting.”

“I realize it wasn’t my brightest moment, Scully, but I had to say something.”

“But do you realize that I hurried through lunch with my brother because I thought something important was going on?”

“I’m sorry, Scully. What else can I say?”

“Next time your exciting news turn out to be about kitchen appliances, tell me right away and don’t make it a secret.”

“In my defense,” Scully shoots him a look and Mulder ignores it, “I never said it was exciting. I didn’t keep it a secret either. So that’s why I’m here? As punishment?”

“Partly,” she admits.

“And?”

“And what?”

“What’s the other reason?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” Scully chuckles and Mulder adds it to his long, long list of things they, apparently, don’t talk about.

*

Mulder doesn’t know what he expected, but it’s not this. This is not, as Scully assured him earlier, a small family gathering. This is dozens of people running around Mrs. Scully’s house.

“Oh Dana, you made it!” A woman, who is almost as tall as Mulder, hugs Scully tightly.

“Mom made me promise.” She replies with a soft smile. If only she would smile like this more often.

“And who is this nice young man, Dana?”

“This is Fox Mulder. My partner,” she startles, “my friend,” Scully turns to him, searching for the right word, “my work…” She trails off with a confused hand gesture.

“Oh Fox,” the large woman shakes his hand heartily, a huge grin on her face, “Maggie told us so much about you. She didn’t say you were coming today!”

“Ah yes, I cleared my schedule for this,” Mulder puts on what he hopes is a charming smile, and judging from the woman’s face it works well enough, and sighs, “I wanted to be here.”

“That’s so lovely, Fox. I’m Dana’s aunt, Millicent.” She’s still holding his hand, he realizes. “Now, go say hello to everyone else. I hope I’ll see you around, Fox.” Aunt Millicent winks at him and Mulder blushes. When she’s out of sight, Scully sighs audibly.

“So I’m your work, huh?” Mulder bumps her shoulder playfully.

“Oh shut up, Mulder. You know what I meant.” Scully doesn’t look at him, instead she seems to look for someone else among all these small and not so small heads. There’s a whirlwind of noises and voices surrounding them.

“Do I?” Scully glances up at him, brows furrowed. Her mouth opens to say something when a loud, distinctively male voice chimes:

“Is that Dana?” In a quick movement, Scully grabs Mulder’s coat sleeve and drags him with her right into a room he’s never seen before. It’s dark, it’s small and for the moment, surprisingly quiet. It could be a coat closet, he thinks, as a soft fabric brushes against him.

“Scully what-” She puts her finger on his lips to quiet him. Not as effective as her earlier mode of shutting him up, but it works. He’s not going to complain that she’s touching him. Her finger is warm, it’s soft, and he just can’t help himself; he kisses it. Scully’s eyes open wide, but she doesn’t take her finger away, and so he kisses it again.

“Oh for fuck’s sake, Mulder.” Her angry whisper shocks him, but even if he knew what to say, he couldn’t. Scully’s lips find his again and this time he makes sure she’s not cutting their kiss short. His arms tighten around her and hold her close. She moans into his open mouth as one of his hands wanders up her spine.

“Why would they – Dana! And Fox!” The door opens and their mouths separate with a loud smack. Their arms still around each other they stare into the faces of Scully’s mother, her brother and man Mulder doesn’t know. Oh well.

“I can never unsee that.” Bill Scully mumbles shaking his head in disbelief.

“Why are you hiding in here?” Maggie Scully, a laugh in her voice, opens the door wider so they can step out. Mulder tries to secretly wipe at his mouth, but the nameless guy watches him intently. As does Bill.

“Bill wanted to introduce you to his Navy friend.” Now it’s Mulder who eyes the other man warily. This is the guy Bill Scully told him about earlier in his office. On his turf. This, he figures, is neutral ground. Not to mention that he just kissed Scully for the second time in one day. That should count for something.

“This is Frank,” the blond stranger waves awkwardly, uncertain if he should shake Scully’s hand, “My friend I told you about earlier.” Bill finishes, his eyes full engaged in a glaring match with his sister. For once Mulder is glad to not be at the receiving end of that death stare.

“And what did I tell you?” Her voice sounds like pure ice.

“I’m just asking you to meet him. You don’t have to marry him.” Bill glances at Mulder, who briefly considers hiding behind Scully or even her mother.

“I’m not interested,” she tells him, “Sorry, Frank.” The man blushes furiously.

“It’s because of him, isn’t it? I mean what you just did…”

“Bill.” His mother’s voice warns him.

“That’s none of your business.”

“He has nothing to offer you, Dana!”

“Bill, leave your sister and Fox alone. Now come on, all of you. We’ve got a house full of people. Behave yourselves.” Mulder watches as Scully raises her eyebrow as if challenging her brother and of course, he bites.

“What is it about him, Dana? He doesn’t love you.”

“Hey,” it’s the last straw and Mulder can no longer keep quiet, “I do love your sister. I love her more than I could ever put into words.”

“Y-you love me?” Out of the corner of his eye Mulder sees Mrs. Scully lead her son and the ominous Frank away. Not that Mulder still cares. His eyes are on Scully, and hers are on him. Right now, in a house full of people, they’re the only two that matter.

“Scully, I am not drunk,” he begins, his voice slightly wavering, “I am not drugged either. I am just me and I am in full capacity of my sanity,” Scully’s eyebrow rises, “as much as is left of it anyway. So let me tell you that yes, I love you. I am in love with you.”

“That’s really nice,” Scully tells him and it’s only now that he notices how close they are once again; like magnets drawn to each, he figures, “Because you know what?”

“What?”

“I love you, too.”

No more words are needed and so he kisses her again and again and again.
