I know I’m gonna regret asking this, but Why is it acceptable for there to be a Jewish State, but not a Christian or Muslim State? Why do white nationalist discourse is bad, but when Israelis use similar language it’s okay?
Racist assholes, please refrain from answering. Israelis and supporters: Naw, you can get mad if you want
Hamas tunnel discovered underneath UNRWA school - Gaza - 10 June 2017
A Hamas terrorist tunnel was discovered under a school in Gaza run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA), Israeli media reported on Friday. The tunnel was discovered a week and a half ago, according to the reports. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, confirmed the discovery of the tunnel in a post on his Facebook page in Arabic. “The tunnel was discovered underneath a school for boys in Al-Maazi…It is clear that the entire Arab world understands that it is the Hamas terror organization that destroys Gaza and eliminates any chance of a good future for Gazans,” wrote Mordechai. Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon reacted harshly to the revelation of the existence of the terror tunnel. “This tunnel verifies what we have always know, that the cruelty of Hamas knows no bounds as they use the children of Gaza as human shields. Instead of UN schools serving as centers of learning and education, Hamas has turned them into terror bases for attacks on Israel,” said Ambassador Danon. This case follows a number of incidents exposed recently of ties between UNRWA personnel and the terrorists of Hamas. Ambassador Danon called on the Secretary General and the Security Council to intervene to ensure the implementation of strict oversight over the UN body. “The UN must act immediately to ensure that their structures and institutions are not being used to harbor the terror infrastructure of Hamas,” Ambassador Danon concluded. Hamas has been busily reconstructing its terror tunnel network breaching into Israeli territory which was targeted by Israel during the 2014 counterterror Operation Protective Edge. A senior Israeli security official estimated several months ago that the terror group continues to dig 10 kilometers in tunnels leading into Israel per month. Digging a tunnel underneath a building used as a school is nothing new for Hamas, which regularly uses civilians as human shields and hides rocket launchers in places such as schools and soccer fields. During the 2014 counterterrorism Operation Protective Edge, Hamas rockets were discovered inside an UNRWA school building. Likewise, a booby-trapped UNRWA clinic was detonated, killing three IDF soldiers. Aside from the massive amounts of explosives hidden in the walls of the clinic, it was revealed that it stood on top of dozens of terror tunnels, showing how UNRWA is closely embedded with Hamas.
Yes, You came when I called; you told me, “Do not fear.” Lamentations 3:5 Fear is one of the most damaging emotions that can paralyze you. Prophet Jeremiah had to deliver the most unpopular message to the nation of Israel. He was so hated that they tossed into a pit and threw stones on him. In his fear he cried out to the LORD. The LORD comforted him saying, “Do not fear!” God is in control of whatever you are going through. If you are afraid that your life is falling apart, don’t be. God is saying to you, “Do not fear!” No matter what you’re going through, no matter how bad your circumstances appear, turn from your fear, Jesus is able to rescue you and restore everything you have lost. Trust Him.

Some years after I first channeled the Jets to explain my Judaism, I had a conversation about religion with a devout Catholic friend. When I explained that I was an observant Jew and began each day by reciting the morning prayers but wasn’t really sure how God fit into my life, he was perplexed. When I admitted that these theological questions didn’t really occupy much of my attention and certainly weren’t particularly germane to my life as an observant Jew, he became agitated. And when I told him that I certainly wasn’t sure if Jewish law was divine or simply the result of two millennia of rabbinical interpretations, he threw up his hands and said: “How can you do everything you do, and live a life with so many restrictions and so many obligations, if you don’t even believe in God?”
I responded that there is a long tradition in Judaism of engaging first in religious practices and letting matters of faith come later. In the book of Exodus, after Moses has received the Commandments from God, he begins to instruct the Jewish people in the law; their immediate response is na’aseh v’nishma: “We will do first and understand afterwards.” I explained that while I understood that Catholicism, along with the other branches of Christianity, was essentially a religion based on the belief that Jesus is the son of God and the savior of humanity, Judaism is a complex blend of radical monotheism and peoplehood. In the Bible, the Jewish people are referred to not as a religious denomination, but asb’nai Yisrael, the children of Israel, the descendants of Jacob. Throughout history, Jews have referred to themselves as am Yisrael, the nation of Israel. The vast corpus of Jewish law, all 613 biblical commandments as well as the Oral Tradition, is a guide to how one lives a Jewish life as a member of the Jewish people.
And so for me, and I imagine for many others like me, the key to Jewish living is not our religious beliefs but our commitment to a set of practices and values that foster community and continuity.
spoke Wednesday in Jerusalem a day after she berated the U.N.’s top
human rights body for ignoring countries with horrendous human rights
records while focusing obsessively on Israel.
Israel has long complained of ingrained anti-Israel bias within the
U.N., where Israel and its allies are far outnumbered by Arab countries
and their supporters.
Haley told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the approach toward Israel
at the U.N. was a “habit.” She said “the U.N was such a bully to Israel
because they could.”
In a meeting with President Reuven Rivlin, Haley said “I have never
taken kindly to bullies and the U.N. has bullied Israel for a very long
time and we are not going to let that happen anymore.” She said “it is a
new day for Israel in the United Nations.”
Rivlin said Israel sees in her support a new era where “Israel is no
longer the U.N’s punching bag.” He added that “we have a long way to go”
for change there and also at the Human Rights Council which he said
“has been hijacked as a weapon against Israel” and in UNESCO “where they
seek to rub out the history of the Jewish people.”
Recent resolutions by UNESCO, the U.N. cultural body, drew outrage in Israel for diminishing the deep Jewish ties to Jerusalem.
Haley is in the region after speaking in Geneva at the U.N. Human Rights
Council which she rebuked as a “forum for politics, hypocrisy and
evasion” that allows rights abusers to whitewash their images and foes
of Israel to criticize the Jewish state unfairly.
Haley used an academic forum in Geneva to pinpoint two reforms sought by
the United States: the use of competitive elections to choose the
council’s 47 members and removal of Israel as a permanent fixture on its
agenda — the only country in the world that is.
Later Wednesday, Haley met with Palestinian Prime Minister Rami
Hamdallah in Ramallah, her office said in a statement. It said they
discussed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as well as the
work of UNWRA, a U.N. agency that helps Palestinians.”
Nikki Haley calls for UN resolution to condemn Hamas as terrorist organization - 21 June 2017
The Security Council should designate Hamas as a terrorist organization and issue a resolution condemning it, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said on Tuesday. “Every ounce of what we do should be against Hamas,” Haley said as she spoke at a special meeting that marked the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War.
Torah’s purity rules were rules of access and welcome. Over time, Israel turned the good laws of purity into instruments to bar the way not only to Gentiles but also to other Jews… Purity laws designed to provide access to God for people in the flesh, designed to regulate social connections within Israel, designed to prepare Israel for her mission to the nations, become instruments of exclusion and brute marginalization. At its worst, Pharisaical oral tradition is the law turned back to flesh - turned into a means for reinforcing fleshly distinctions, restrictions and enhancing fleshly boasting - which is why Jesus so ferociously attacks the Pharisees.
I’ve seen that JOC post going around (and may have even reblogged it myself?) and reblogged by Jews and non Jews alike. That’s good! What’s not so good is that part of the post doesn’t show Jews at all, it shows people who belong to a Christian congregation founded by a man who is a fervent believer in Christian Zionism/Messianic Judaism.
The Wikipedia page for that church states:
The Holy Ecclesia of Jesus also known as the Congregation of Jesus is an independent Japanese church founded by Ōtsuki Takeji in 1946. It is the third largest of the Japanese-founded churches. The Holy Ecclesia of Jesus is a movement aimed at recovering apostolic Christianity and entrusted with a special mission regarding the nation of Israel in these “last days.” Ōtsuki writes that its authentic mission is not to transmit the doctrine or theology of Christianity, but to manifest the living Christ in our lives. As of 2007, the movement had approximately 5,000 members throughout Japan.
The JOC post shows a choir from “Beit Shalom in Japan.” Beit Shalom was created by Takeji:
Ōtsuki’s concern for the nation of Israel clearly reflects the views of Nakada Jūji, his mentor in the Japan Holiness Church, whose theology was dominated in his later years by eschatological concerns and the idea that Japan was somehow connected to the salvation of Israel. Without denying this influence, Ōtsuki claims that he also received a special revelation concerning the movement’s responsibilities toward Israel while he was a missionary in China. He reports that the Lord instructed him:
To pray for the restoration of the nation of Israel;
To pray for the spiritual renewal of Israel, which is the condition for the return of Christ;
To pray for the peace of Jerusalem, which is the key to the peace of the world; and
To pray for the coming of the Messiah of Peace.
Ten years after Ōtsuki received this revelation and began praying fervently for the restoration of Israel, the nation of Israel was established as an independent state. This provided important confirmation for Ōtsuki and his followers at an early stage of this movement’s development. This apocalyptic consciousness and the concern for the nation of Israel pervades all aspects of this movement today.
In 1946, Father Ōtsuki Takeji founded Beit Shalom (also known as Japan Christian Friends of Israel), according to what he said were the instructions of God. At the time, he had not met a Jew in his life; indeed, he had to wait until 1962 before he would ever meet an Israeli. Beit Shalom was created as a guest house for Israeli and Jewish visitors to Japan, where they could stay for free for up to three nights. Beit Shalom also holds concerts in the visitors’ honor, presented by the Shachar Choir (Dawn Choir) composed of native Japanese members of the Sei Iesu Kai congregation. The choir sings songs in Hebrew for Israeli guests in order to “express the love of Israel and to promote friendship between Israel and Japan.” Beit Shalom also created and runs the Holocaust Education Center in Fukuyama, near Hiroshima. Many members of the Sei Iesu Kai clergy have studied in Israel and speak Hebrew, and Father Ōtsuki himself received the Honorary Fellow of Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1994.
So while there is a Jewish community in Japan, Beit Shalom is not one of them, and it’s quite frankly alarming to see that a decidedly Messianic organisation is running a Holocaust education centre and even functioning as a diplomatic hub. It’s important to support our fellow Jews but also recognise fakes.
i think its funny yall wanna talk about very selective things in the bible but don't want to stop eating pork lol
“Leviticus chapter 11 lists the dietary restrictions God gave to the nation of Israel. The dietary laws included prohibitions against eating pork, shrimp, shellfish and many types of seafood, most insects, scavenger birds, and various other animals. The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than the Israelites. The purpose of the food laws was to make the Israelites distinct from all other nations. After this purpose had ended, Jesus declared all foods clean (Mark 7:19). God gave the apostle Peter a vision in which He declared that formerly unclean animals could be eaten: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He fulfilled the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.”
The United Arab Republic ordered the mobilization of its entire 100,000-man Army reserve yesterday and said that units of the army and air force of Iraq would be sent to Cairo to support the Egyptian build-up. At the same time, leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization proclaimed that Arab commandos would begin waging a campaign of terrorism against Israel.
As tensions continued to mount in the Mideast, American officials at the United Nations took a leading part in negotiations to find a way out of the crisis that threatens to bring war between Israel and her Arab neighbors. Ambassador Arthur J. Goldberg spent part of the day conferring with other members of the Security Council.
In Washington, meanwhile, it was noted that there had been no change in a commitment. dating back to 1950, whereby the United States promised to preserve the frontiers of Israel and the Arab states.
One day last week President Johnson had a luncheon for 16 of the most respected intellectuals in his Administration. The purpose of the lunch and conversation? Mr. Johnson wanted to find out why he was having trouble communicating with the nation’s intellectual community.
The Food and Drug Administration published new regulations for prescription advertising that in effect, told advertisers to claim nothing for their products that could not be supported by evidence.
Appearing on a television interview pro. gram and later at a news conference, Mayor Lindsay delivered a rather negative blueprint for his personal political future. Mr. Lindsay ruled himself out as a possible candidate for Vice President is 1968. He also said he had “no other ambitions to run for any other office” than Mayor.
