hi! i’m shout. im a freelance pixel artist. ive been around for like 4 years now helping people make video games and sometimes things that arent video games. anyway, i specialize in stupid anime bullshit

i’m opening commissions to tumblr again for pixel art, for gamedev and otherwise, which really just means that i’ll do like standalone avatar portraits and vanity shots if you pay me, too

(it went well the first time, so the second round should be even better, right?)

my rates start at 10usd / 32x32 sprite + 5usd / additional animation frame / tile + 20usd / character design, but for large projects like video games ive been known to put out discounts and for very complicated characters (like, for instance, if you want me to draw and animate a 64x64 tetsuya nomura character) (’ses zippers) i tend to markup. i also markup slightly for sprites with a larger base resolution then 32x32, but can do pretty much any scale from like 8x8 to like 96x96 (and really at that point it’s not even pixel art anymore, just really fuckin small raster art)

(if you want, i can usually provide sketches of any characters you have me design, as well)

i’m also an experienced game maker dev (going on like, 6 years at least) so inquire within about other gamedev work, in case you want my expertise (not just my art) (please do both, though) on a game you’re working on

if you have questions, dont be afraid to just speak up, by the way! like, i dont bite. i mostly just talk about cel animated anime and say the word ‘xabungle’ over and over like im trying to summon it in a mirror

you can also reach me at shout#6597 on discord, and shoutscion@gmail.com if you genuinely enjoy writing and sending emails or somethin

Lipstick Magick

Wine red/Maroon/Crimson: Powerful words, strength, queen/king-like beauty and power, cursing. Wear when you want to put a bite into your words.

Poppy Red/Scarlet/Bright Reds: Love, playfulness, draw attention, courage. Enchant these colors for when you have to give a presentation, or for love spells.

Rose Pink/Lighter Shades: Friendship, Love, peace. Enchant for maybe going out with friends, setting a dispute, etc.

Peach: (My personal favorite) Use this color in beauty and confidence spells, or anything requiring some bravery and/or emotional strength.

Purples/Violet/You get the Idea: Love, astral realm, psychic abilities, intelligence. Ladies- if you are like me and deal with men who frequently claim you are less intelligent because you are a woman, enchant a purple color.

Reddish-Brown: deceit. Idk how or why you would use this but its a common color so.

Black: protection, the otherworld, litterally anything you want really.

  • What she says: Star is jealous of Marco and Jackie's relationship
  • What she means: Star is so overtaken by jealousy and negative emotions to the point where they affect the way her spells are cast. They become much more powerful and destructive as seen when she sends one flying towards the Love Sentence sign and DEMOLISHES it effortlessly. She was bottling up that kind of frustration as she talked to Marco and assured him that everything was alright, which was an amazing cover-up of how she really felt. And it's no surprise that she feels like this if you really think about it: Marco is her BEST FRIEND. They live together, ride the bus to school together, walk home together, fight monsters together, and have developed a friendship that works amazingly well. They're earnest with each other, support each other, and they work out their problems in a very healthy way. But Jackie throws an unintentional wrench into their dynamic by dating Marco, because Marco has someone else to do all those things with now. Jackie is the girl of Marco's dreams, and a girl who he is getting to REALLY know after admiring her from afar for so long. He finally has a chance to become someone important to her, and to cherish her like he always wanted to and their relationship will pave the way to doing all the things that Marco was able to do with Star and MORE. While that does not mean friendships are worth less than romantic relationships, it does mean that Marco will inevitably feel more attached to Jackie and carry that obligation to treat her the way a girlfriend should be treated. This obviously interferes with Marco's attention to Star, because he will spend less time with her and more with someone else who he deems a significant other. Now Star has to pretend that everything is okay since she doesn't want to admit that she's upset while her best friend is happy with another girl. It's something she can't help but feel, but because she feels too ashamed to tell that to her best friend of all people, she continues to put on a fake smile in front of him and vents in other unhealthy ways.

The Boring but Important Basics of Witchcraft

Let me start by saying CLEANSING CLEANSING CLEANSING. It’s the most basic, first thing you learn, exciting and boring part of witchcraft.

Negative energy is a scientific fact based on positive and negative charged ions that make up everything.

Clearing out negative energy and replacing it with positive energy is not something you should only do during spring cleaning.
Cleanse after a very stressful or negative experience like a fight or finals. Cleanse if you’re feeling lethargic or upset. Cleansing may not fix everything but it definitely doesn’t hurt.

The best way I’ve found to cleanse it a salt water, sage, pine mix. It’s in a spray bottle and I just spray it around the room. It works best if you’ve cleaned up any clutter that may be lying about. It also helps to declutter your mind. For me that can be hard between my anxiety and depression so it really helps to sit down and work things out in my head.

Another basic is protection and casting circles. When you perform spells or rituals you open yourself up to outside interference. It’s like how your laptop limited to what’s on it by itself. When it connects to the internet it becomes part of all these other devices that are connected and its no longer limited. Without a firewall your computer can get a virus. So casting a circle is like activating a firewall.

You can create a mental circle but it can be hard to keep up if you’re performing an energy costing spell or ritual. Salt is your best friend!

Creating circles and walls from outside energy is essential for most empaths to function some days. It all depends on who you come in contact with. Even if you don’t spend much time with a person you can still pick up on their emotional energy. If you do get interference cleansing can help clean out other people’s emotions.

A lot of witchcraft is visualizing and focusing your will and releasing energy from things like crystals or herbs. Meditation and mental exercises will help you in whatever spells or rituals you want to do.

My last basic isn’t witchcraft but it’s essential for doing spells or rituals. Take care of yourself. If you are too tired and don’t have the energy, for whatever reason, to focus or use energy in a spell, it’s not going to work. So drink water, exercise, sleep, relax. Do what you can to take care of you. Self care isn’t always easy but it’s important in everything you do. I’m a big advocate of those occasional and unavoidable mental health days. Mental sickness will cause your body to become sick.

Things I've done/said while writing

• “Oh my God this is taking too long, just shut up and get to the fucking place already.”

• Forgets I have the power to make the characters get to the fucking place already

• Constantly checks word count to see if I’ve written as much or more than I had for the last chapter

• Opens doc and rereads to remember what I was planning to write and can never remember what I was planning to write

• Opens doc and immediately closes it

• Dad: “What are you working on?” Me: “..A story?” Dad: “Oh! When do you plan on letting me read it?” Me: “I’m lying, I’m talking to a friend.”

• Panics after I’ve closed the doc without saving, forgetting that I use Google Docs

• Forgets how to spell the word ‘wet’

• “Can I say a character tied her hair into a ponytail? Are ponytails in fantasy settings still ponytails?”

• “Why can’t I just write this part already? I really want to write this part.”

• “How many times can I mention this story to my friends before I get them to read it or make them annoyed by it?”

• Looks up definition of a word several times just to make sure it means what I think it means

Imagine: Lucifer teaching you Enochian

“What do you want, Lucifer?” you ask, patently annoyed.

“What? I’m not allowed to visit you?” He’s sat in the previously empty chair.

“You’ll be bored. I’m a little busy.”

Lucifer pouts, “I can tell. You haven’t even looked at me.”

You didn’t answer his statement, being too caught up in your contemporary work. For the past twenty-four hours, you’ve been accumulating whatever books you could find on a certain angelic language, which wasn’t much. Not only was there a lack of information on the language, but it didn't produce pronunciation. Although you didn’t attain much from the books, you managed to fill over half of a leather bound notebook full of it. Unfortunately, the amount you attained was only about as much as finishing French Class I. You wipe off your pen and set it down, running your hands through your hair before standing to look for whatever book you could find.

After you disappear behind a bookcase, Lucifer pulls the notebook to himself and reads what’s written. To his surprise, it’s filled with the symbols of both Enochian and its English meaning. Of course, he noticed that some angelic words were spelled wrong.

You come back, not with books, but with a computer, hoping to get some information off the internet.

“You spelt this one wrong,” Lucifer points at your notebook.

“Yeah, right. What do you know about Enochian?”

Lucifer glared at you, looking genuinely insulted.

“Oh. I’m so sorry, I forgot. I’m just really stressed,” you apologize.

“Just grab your pen and fix the spelling.”

“I don’t know how to spell it. I thought what I wrote was correct.”

He takes the pen himself, dipping it in the ink and quickly writing the correct spelling. He hands it back to you.

“Lucifer?”

He hums.

“Can you teach me? I can’t find much, and who knows Enochian better than an angel?”

Lucifer smirks, “Are you asking for my help?”

You sigh. “Yes.”

“I thought you’d never ask.”

He pulls out the chair closest to you and sits you down, ready too help with both spelling and pronunciation.

happy pokemon day everyone!! we’ve come a long way since generation 1, and i cant wait for future generations for even bigger adventures!! :3

Grounding Theory and Application

Recently I was asked by wrecklessheartofg0ld and devinaswitchyhaven to describe my personal method of grounding because I don’t use the ‘growing roots’ method that I see a lot of people using. The way I describe my method would be more along the lines of ‘equalising myself’ and ‘connecting to the web’.

The reason I describe my method of grounding in this way is because, for me, grounding is a lot like equalising the pressure when you go scuba diving.  And you do this by ‘connecting to the web’ and letting yourself ‘equalise the pressure’ you feel from spellcasting or energy work.

If my analogy doesn’t make sense at the moment I promise I’ll go into greater detail later but first I should probably explain what grounding is and why you should do it for the people who have never come across the term.

Alright. So the term Grounding actually comes from the process of electrical grounding in which an object is allowed to discharge (get rid of its excess charge). If an object is negatively charged, grounding lets excess electrons to flow from the object into the earth, and if an object is positively charged, electrons flow from the earth into the object.

Within the magical community, this process of electrical grounding has been applied to create the witchy equivalent (though really it’s almost the same process and it’s called the same name).

This is based on the theory that magic is a form of energy and when a witch casts spells or practices energy work, it’s likely that they’ll end up with either too much or not enough personal energy. For a witch this can be an extremely uncomfortable experience especially if you are close to either side of the spectrum (i.e. very little personal energy or way too much personal energy).

Unfortunately there are also physical symptoms which usually accompany being unequalised such as headaches, migraines, uncomfortable buzzing sensations under the skin, nausea, vomiting, pain, irritability, insomnia and exhaustion. The symptoms are typically worse the further out of alignment you are.

Grounding also helps people who practice astral travel, dreamwork, journeying, and hedge hopping with reconnecting with ‘reality’ and feeling like you’re ‘in the now’ and present in the world.

Overall, grounding serves two purposes:

  • It stabilises and equalises your personal energy
  • It reconnects you with the earth and it’s systems (what I like to call ‘the web’) and helps you focus on reality and being ‘in the now’

In a perfect world, witches would learn how to ground before attempting to perform any magic or energy work, but unfortunately I see a lot of witches jump straight into casting spells without thinking of what it can to them.  Grounding really is an essential skill for any witch who wants to keep practicing witchcraft without horrible side effects.

So while there are many grounding techniques available, this one is my personal method. If this method does not work for you I would recommend looking at the classic ‘growing roots’ method.

Connecting to the Web

Everything has its own energy/frequency/vibration/magic. Whatever you want to call it – everything has it. To ground effectively you need to be able to connect to this mass of energy and equalise your own personal energy.

For me, I visualise all of this energy as an intricately interwoven web (like a spider’s web or the internet); a mass of connections each transmitting their own energy and connecting to the whole. This is why I call it connecting to the web. Because for me, it is a web.

I developed this method of grounding because I found that I didn’t always have the time to sit down on the ground outside and sometimes it’s not appropriate (for example: At work or in the middle of class. Really whenever you feel that you need to equalise the pressure of either too much energy or not enough).

1)      First you have to visualise your own energy. You can do this sitting down, standing up, listening to a lecture, watching tv, sitting at your computer – ANYWHERE. You can close your eyes if that helps you however if you close your eyes for a long time in a public place this will become quite noticeable. The more you practice the faster you will be.

2)      Then you need to visualise ‘the web’. You won’t see all of it. You should be able to see the energy of the world around you and how it connects to each other. You won’t see the whole web. Maybe if you were out in space you could, but down here on earth you can only see the bits around you.

3)      You’re already connected to the web. That’s the best part. As a living, breathing organism which has its own personal energy; you are already connected. You just needed to be able to see it so you can get yourself back into alignment again. You should see a little tendril of energy coming from you and connecting to the web. You need to reinforce that connection.

I’m not gonna lie; grounding is hundred times easier if you can stand barefoot on the ground or sit outside with your palms resting on the ground. However, like I said earlier, that’s not always an option.

4)      Now for the equalising process. Like with scuba diving, I found the best way to equalise the pressure from either too much energy or not enough is to breathe. I know this may sound ridiculously simple – but it works. Take deep breaths and as you breathe in, draw in energy from the web. As you breathe out, send out your own energy to mingle with the web.

5)      It may take a few repetitions but you should feel settled once you finish. That buzzing under your skin will be gone and you will feel lighter and refreshed.

And that’s my method. Now I know some people recommend grounding every month or every week but really you should ground every day. I know that may seem like way too much work, but it really isn’t. The more you ground the faster and better you’ll be at it, so if you do it every day it becomes second nature. The second you start to feel off or out of alignment – equalise.

I hope this helps!

How It's Going To Be

How It's Going To Be

Gerard Way // How It’s Going To Be

Across the city steam and light
Off a runway to the manufactured night-
In storybooks you’ll never find
In paper armor that you’d mind
They’ll hold the match to you this time-
And watch the smoke rings fit the crime

In moments you cannot reprise
Like a soldier or a watch that you can’t wind
We fought the world with hands twice-tied
The people cheered, the captain cried
I’ll keep the souvenir inside
It’s just better in my mind

And I wouldn’t lie
I never really wanted more
Than what I ever really needed after all
Someone that hates to see me go

You made a promise then you hide
And you said we’d all be dead by twenty-five
It’s not your disappointed sigh
It’s not you traded this for pride
Not that we really even mind
We’re just bored you’re still alive

And I wouldn’t lie
If I tried, take me down
And if I die here now-

Wishing wells and magic spells and everything
between
Can you tell me what it’s like?
Or how it’s going to be?

The New Dragon

After becoming friends during your time at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, you now traveled with Newt Scamander the magizoologist. You both shared an interest in magical creatures, caring for them in particular. It also meant that you got to travel the world in search of the creatures. You were both so passionate about this that Newt decided to plan on writing a book on how to protect and look after those fantastic beasts.

You were tidying up the shed in the suitcase. It was not that messy but various herbs needed to be reorganised to make them more accessible for the both of you. After dusting off your dress, you excitedly walk out into the enclosures. You could not wait to see what Newt was making.

Walking towards you was the familiar silhouette of Newt. He was wearing a mustard coloured waistcoat, white shirt and dark trousers. His green eyes were partially covered by his reddish brown hair.
“Is it finished?” you ask excitedly as you bounce up and down.
“It’s ready.” he replies laughing at your excitement. “W-would you like to have a look?“
You smiled as you nod your head. "Ok” he chuckled “but close your eyes. I want it to be a surprise.” You knew that he had been working on it for a while, so he had every right to build up the suspense. As you closed your eyes he gently held onto your hand as he guided you to your destination.

“You can open them now.” he said whilst releasing your hand from his. As you opened your eyes you almost fell backwards in awe at what was in front of you. Luckily Newt held his hands on your shoulder and back to steady you.
“It’s perfect.” you said as you gazed at the beauty in front of you. The space looked like a vast grassy but rocky field with a pool of water in the distance. Hidden was a cave lined with various rocks. You both stood in the centre of the brand new enclosure. It resembled the landscape of the higher mountain regions in Wales.

You looked at Newt who you didn’t realise was staring at you to see your reaction. “Does this mean we can go and and get her?” you ask.
“Yes, it is time.” he replied smiling.
You both practically ran to the shed and then up the ladder and out of the suitcase.

Newt had heard of a female Common Welsh Green dragon that resided in the mountain regions of Wales. Townsfolk had been complaining that something had been feeding on their herds of sheep. Lately it had been eating so much that soon Muggles would notice that something unexpected was the culprit.

Steadily you both walked on the rocky terrain, which proved challenging in your boots. Newt held the suitcase in one hand and kept a firm grip on your hand with the other. He was scared of you falling over. Finally the ground leveled out as you looked at the field in front of you. Newt had received a tip off that the dragon was already out, gazing hungrily at the herd of sheep again. Everything was quiet until a roar boomed in the distance, somewhere behind the field.

Newt could feel your hand trembling in his and he looked at you with a worried expression. You were nervous because this would be your first ever encounter with a dragon. Remembering your lessons at Hogwarts about how dangerous dragons can be, made you shake a bit more. "It’s alright. Just follow my lead.“ he said reassuringly.

You copied Newt as he began to walk with silent, lengthy strides. As you both walked further, a large silhouette began to become visible. "Dragons can be a little unpredictable but as long as you appear confident then they won’t see you as an easy target.” he whispered.
Both of you stood up as straight as you possibly could, to make you look bigger than what you really were.
“But how is it going to get into the case?” you asked with a concerned look on your face.
Newt chuckled. “Offer it something that it loves.”

You opened the suitcase and laid it on the ground. Slowly Newt pulled his wand out of its holder. “Wingardium leviosa” he said in a quiet voice. A toy of a sheep moved out of the case and around your feet. Newt was controlling the spell in such a way that the movement of the sheep decoy looked realistic.

As soon as she caught sight of it, the dragon’s eyes were fixed on the toy. The large creature began to stalk it. You remember reading about these dragons and how competitive they can be. When they spot that another creature potentially wants the food that the dragon has its eye on, it then becomes an obsession for the dragon to get the food, no matter what it is.
“We should begin to move forward now that she’s seen it?” you whispered. Newt nodded. You both began to dart forward a step towards the toy sheep. The dragon caught a glimpse of you both. The game was now on.
The dragon lunged forward towards the toy and followed it. You noticed that there was something a bit odd with the way she moved. With a wave of Newt’s wand, the sheep decoy jumped into the case. The dragon froze in front of it. It knew that it was too big to fit in it.
Newt darted towards the case. Not to be beaten, the dragon jumped forward. She stumbled into the case with a lot less grace than you thought it would have.

Back inside the suitcase you rush over to the enclosure Newt built, to see your newest arrival. You cautiously approached the area. Even though this breed of dragon were relatively subdued, it is important to give new creatures their space so they can grow accustomed to their environment.

Newt was holding two buckets of meat and handed one to you. Both of you emptied the meat into the cave, making sure that the dragon was watching you. It was important to show a new beast that you are there to help provide and care for them.
You looked at the dragon, amazed by her gorgeous green scales and ferocious presence. Newt stared at you with a smile on his face. He loved watching you as you studied the creature with fascination and pure joy. Newt was glad that you shared the same passion for magical creatures as he did.
You caught a glimpse of Newt staring you, causing a light blush to fill your cheeks. He quietly chuckled at your reaction. "It’s amazing what you’ve done Newt. Building this and housing these amazing beasts.“ you say whilst looking at the puzzled expression on his face. "It really is.” your words now caused him to blush.
“I’ll just return these buckets to shed.” he said smiling proudly whilst he took the bucket from your hand.

The dragon began to walk around to get used to its new home. There was still something not quite right about the way it moved. It was as if it was limping slightly as it walked. Your eyes studied the body of the dragon until they focused on a drop of blood running down its side. The contrasting red line on its green scales stood out just behind the wing.

“Newt, I think that the dragon is hurt.” you called whilst keeping your eye on the dragon. You moved further towards the back of her to try and get a better look at the wound. You could see that the dragon was following your movements with her eyes. For a moment you stared at each other and you couldn’t quite explain it but it was as if you both knew what the other was thinking. Slowly the dragon lifted her wing, revealing a large branch that was impaled under her scales. The size of it must be causing her great pain and definitely explained why she had trouble moving.

You slowly walk towards the dragon, making sure to look at her face the entire time incase she did not want you to. The scales looked even more beautiful up close, like shards of shiny green shell. Blood continued to trickle from the base of the branch but there were patches of darker red. It must have been there for days if not weeks. Looking at her face again, it looked as if the the dragon knew what you were planning to do and was bracing itself. Part of you knew that you should wait for Newt to get back so he could help but you had come this far, the dragon was ready and looked like it wanted it taken out as soon as possible.
“Shh” you soothed, though it was more to calm your own nerves.

Slowly you grabbed the base of the branch. You could not believe that you were doing this and that you were touching a real dragon. Looking at where it was, it was going to be easy. You were so focused on the task that you did not notice the sound of footsteps in the distance. Mustering up all of your strength and courage, you pulled the branch out in one swift movement. During this action the dragon squirmed in the brief pain. That’s when suddenly.

It all happened so quickly, that you did not have time to reach for the wand in your pocket. The dragon unconsciously raised its claw and scratched your arm. Great pain searing through it. You let out a scream as you stepped back several paces out of the enclosure. You had not seen your injury but you knew that you should not appear weak or hurt in front of a dragon.

“(Y/N)!” you heard Newt yell as he ran towards you. Looking down you could see your blood soaked sleeve as your arm grew warm and wet. The cut must have been deep as you were losing quite a lot of blood. Feeling dizzy, your legs give out and you sit in the floor. The pain in your arm and the shock made you shake. Newt rushed to your side and knelt down beside you. “Merlin’s beard.” he exclaimed as he looked at you, worry etched on his face.

“I’m so sorry Newt. The dragon had a branch lodged in her side and it was hurting her. I managed to get it out. This was only an accident.” you whispered, breathing heavily. He glanced up and saw the bloody branch on the ground.
“I know.” he soothed as he gently stroked your face. Trying to keep his composure, he lifted up the soggy sleeve of your dress. He looked at your blood covered arm and you start to do the same. “(Y/N), keep your eyes on me.” he said whilst trying to smile reassuringly. Damn your arm must be worse that you thought. Obeying his wishes you focus on his face, slowly getting lost in his green eyes. He was deep in thought whilst looking at your arm, though a smile flashed across his face as he caught a glance of you staring at him.

“There’s too much.” Newt mumbled as he lifted his waistcoat slightly. He ripped a couple of strips of fabric off of his white shirt. Using one strip he wrapped it tightly around the top of your arm to lessen the blood flow. He picked up the other piece and hesitated. “This is going to hurt a bit.” he said softly. You could see in his face that he did not want to hurt you in anyway. Slowly you lifted your other arm and took his free hand in yours. He stroked your hand using his thumb.
Using the fabric he started to clean up the wound as gently as he could. You squirmed as your arm stung, a few tears rolling down your cheeks. Newt looked away in guilt.
Feeling tired you begin to close your eyes involuntarily. Newt squeezed your hand to force your eyes open again. You looked at Newt’s face again.

“Sorry I hurt you. I had to do it so I could see what I’m doing.” he said, his voice cracking slightly, with red tear filled eyes. You could see how uncomfortable he was with hurting you.
“You are silly.” you giggled. He smiled in response whilst taking his wand out of its holder. Waving it above your arm he said a healing spell. You looked at your arm, all that remained of the cut now was a small scar.

Looking back up, Newt’s eyes meet yours.
“Thank you” you said smiling.
“For what?” he said with a confused expression.
“For being amazing.” you grin.
Newt’s cheeks flushed red as he chuckled.

If I am right, which i hope so, there are people who take care of orphaned kids for a while to help the orphanage or something like that. So, maybe Lance used to help that way, but then he took care of Shiro and they have a connection or something and Lance decided to adopt him. Maybe that's how Lance got custody of a small Japanese boy...? (How do I put this thing in anonymous? Oh well, It doesn't matter. Sorry if there are misspellings, I'm not that good at writing english)

like foster care?  that could be one possibility.  the only thing is I feel like Lance wouldn’t be THAT old. So I don’t know if he would have been a foster parent that early in his life in time to first foster Shiro for a little bit and then adopt him

I started thinking more like he messed around a lot in his first year or two of college and accidentally got some girl pregnant and she dumped the kid on him.   That would make Shiro his actual son then and I don’t think I want it to be like that.

unless like, Lance went on a trip to study abroad in Japan and just found baby Shiro abandoned or something and was somehow able to adopt him. But I feel weird doing something like that because I’m american and have no idea if stuff like that even happens in japan or how that would work exactly. I guess I could make Shiro a prom night dumpster baby that Lance finds still alive (which is REALLY sad but it happens I guess) and he just works really hard to convince child services that he can take care of him and wins. therefore adopting Shiro.    Tragic backstory

btw, your english is awesome. I can’t spell well either and its my first language

What is a Spell? How does it work? And why do we do them?

When you boil down a Spell to its roots, what a spell is and what it does is focus your will/intent. We add correspondences in attempt to boost our will with the energy from those items or actions, but when all is said and done, we’re really just using the power of our thoughts to manifest our desires. Simply put, it’s a dressed up version of “Positive Thinking.”

With that being said, we know that “Positive Thinking” can’t solve all our problems, and to be honest, neither can Spells/Magic. Sometimes it a matter of mind over matter. You can’t will you hair to change colors, but you can buy some hair dye and wish yourself luck that it’ll turn out the way you want. Other times it’s that there are too many forces/energies working against you. This makes your spell-work (or intent) take longer to manifest, and requires more groundwork.

This is why you’ll find in a lot of books the phrase “magic can’t exist in a vacuum.” You have to act on your intentions as much as you have to will your intentions. You can do a spell to attract money or a new job, but it sure would come sooner (or be easier for you) if you did the leg work too and applied for jobs you were suited for (or increased your training so you would qualify for the job.) Something can’t come from nothing.

That is not to say that magic and spells aren’t useful, because they are. The mind is a powerful thing. Your thoughts, your words, your actions carry weight. Spells are the purposeful use of those thoughts, words, and or actions to manifest a goal. There is power there, and it’s up to you to decide when and how you will work it.

Don’t under estimate the power of your words and your thoughts. Simple phrases can change lives. For example, think of the phrase “I love you.” That phrase can bring joy, pain, heartache, or suffering depending on whom says it to you, can it not? Word spells and focused intent is no different.

Only you know your personal energy limit, and it’s up to you to decide how much you want to do spell work and for what reasons, but it’s important to be thoughtful of the costs of that spell-work.  (My energy is low, so I do spells that require little effort and have little energy forcing against it because I know the success rate will be higher and my energy won’t be wasted.) It’s your life and your path, you can do spells for whatever reason you feel like, and no one can tell you otherwise, but it doesn’t hurt to ask yourself these questions when considering doing a spell: Do I really need to do a spell to achieve this goal? Would my energy be better put to use in a different way? What are other ways I can achieve my goals if not through magic? What would be the path of least resistance to focus my intent?

Lastly, I just want to remind all my Witches that how many spells you do does not gain or lose any credit you have to be able to call yourself a ‘witch.’ You don’t have to cast x amount of spells to prove you are a witch. You don’t have to prove you are a witch to anyone! You don’t even have to call yourself a witch if you don’t want to! The pressure you feel to prove how witchy you are for the sake of being witchy, is all in your head. You are valid, your spell work is valid. As long as you realize that you have a magic energy inside  you, and that everything around you has its own energy, and you are conscious of your use of that energy to bend your will and intent, you are magic, you’re a witch.

That’s just my two cents. -Keta

I checked my grades and saw that my English grade went from an A to a B— Idk why, I spent two days– a total of 12 hours working on my annotated bibliography for my research paper– What did I do wrong. I swear it’s because I pointed out how my professor couldn’t spell when we were in class, not only that but I got into an argument with him last class for being biased about my topic rather than giving me legit critique about my thesis, so I called him out on it.
