Chubby Secrets [REQUEST]
I don’t know why Xiumin would ever be insecure about his chubby days! He was so adorable! But here you go! I hope you enjoy!
“Did you bring them?” you asked as soon as Minseok walked through the door of the little café.
He rolled his eyes and sat down opposite you, taking one of the coffees from the middle of the table and cupping his hands around the warm cup. “Hello to you too,” he joked, grinning at you over the top of his mug.
You waved your hands away, dismissing him quickly. “Stop trying to distract me Minnie!” you told him, leaning forward on your elbows to get closer to him. “You promised you would bring the photos.”
“And I did!” he replied, taking a sip of coffee while your face lit up with excitement. “But you barely let me sit down and I have something to talk to you about first.” His expression was different to his usual fun and excitable self, like he was nervous about something.
Minseok had been your friend for just over a year, ever since he walked into the little coffee shop you were working in at the time. You knew exactly who he was as soon as he ordered his coffee but unlike the rest of the girls working there, you tried to stay cool and relatively normal. Inside you were screaming with excitement – he was bloody EXO’s Xiumin for crying out loud. As he left, he slipped you a napkin with his number on and since then, you had been practically the best of friends.
You knew him very well and you knew when he was bottling something up, like now. Leaning back in your chair, you furrowed your brow and pulled your hot chocolate closer to you. “What’s wrong Minseok?’ you asked cautiously. Unless it was before a performance or a TV appearance, he never really got nervous like this.
Coughing past the lump in his throat, he took a small sip of his coffee and shuffled his chair closer to the table. “I want to show you the baby photos but I’m a little bit worried of what you’ll think of me afterwards,” he said quietly, his eyes fixed on the mug in front of him.
Ok, now you were worried. “Minnie, they are just baby photos. You saw mine last week and they are terrible. My mum had absolutely no fashion sense back then. She wouldn’t have any now if it wasn’t for my little sister,” you joked, trying to lighten the mood so he would stop being so nervous. “No matter how cute your photos are, you still going to be my annoying Minnie who drinks way too much coffee.”
“I like you,” Minseok blurted out suddenly, making you almost choke on your hot chocolate and splutter it down your chin. Minseok didn’t seem to notice, he was just staring at his mug nervously. “I’ve been meaning to tell you for months but I didn’t know how you felt about me. And I didn’t want these photos to change your opinion of me. That’s why I needed to tell you now before you saw them.”
With a napkin, you mopped up the hot chocolate that you had practically spat out, cleaning your mouth and chin, plus the table in front of you. The task helped you digest what Minseok had said. Was this really happening to you? Was he on crazy coffee or something? Maybe it was a dream. You pinched your leg just to be sure.
Yep, this was definitely happening.
“Minnie don’t joke around like this,” you said defensively, focusing on the hot chocolate and not the very attractive idol in front of you.
His hands reached out and cupped yours as they held onto your mug. “I’m not joking around,” he told you sincerely. You could feel his eyes on you, although you refused to check, fixing your stare on his hands over yours. “I really like you and if there’s even the smallest chance that you like me, I really want to know.”
“The smallest chance?” you scoffed, holding back the laughter in the back of your throat. “Minseok are you serious? I’ve liked you since the day you came in for coffee and asked me about my day. If anyone should be doubting anyone’s feelings, it should be me and not you.” You still couldn’t look at him, knowing his dark eyes would just melt you. His touch on your hands alone was making your heart pound loud and hard.
He let go of one of your hands and moved it to your chin, tilting it up so you couldn’t help but look at him. “You really have no idea of how beautiful you are, do you?” he murmured, his eyes never leaving yours. “Ever since I met you, I’ve been drawn to you and only recently did I realise that I really like you. I think I always have.”
“I really like you too,” you muttered quietly, afraid to say it too loud in case all of this was just a dream.
Minseok pressed his palm to your cheek, grazing his thumb just under your eye. “Does this count as our first date then?” he asked cutely, pulling your face slowly to the middle of the table. He also leaned in so your faces were merely inches apart.
“Only if you show me your baby photos,” you murmured softly, looking into his warm eyes and instantly melting.
He rolled his eyes and let go of your cheek, leaning around the table for his backpack. Meanwhile you moved your chair around to be closer, your legs now brushing up against his. You had touched Minseok before, brushing up against him all the time, but now it felt different, more intimate. It was hard not to be hyperaware of where your body came into connect with his, even if it was for the briefest of touches. You kind of liked it though, as you slowly rested your head on his shoulder, smiling to yourself as the butterflies in your stomach took flight.
“You promise not to laugh?” Minseok quickly asked, holding out his little finger while his other hand hid the photos against his chest. His voice quivered slightly, and you knew it was because you were so close all of a sudden.
Gulping past the constant nerves, you tried to act like you normally did, forgetting he was EXO’s Xiumin or your boyfriend Minseok and focusing on the fact he was just Minnie. “Stop being silly and show me the photos,” you joked, batting his hand away.
Quite reluctantly, he passed you the handful of photos, his hands quickly moving so his mug of coffee was occupying his attention. “As long as you’ll be my girlfriend after you see them,” he muttered into the mug, resting his head on top of yours.
“What are you talking about Minnie?” you exclaimed as you looked at the first photo, smiling at the little boy with his little chubby cheeks practically bulging out of the photo. “You were so cute!”
Another photo had you squealing at the cuteness. “Oh my god, you were so cute! What the hell happened?” you laughed, wishing you could reach inside the photo and squeeze his adorable chubby cheeks.
“HEY!” Minseok exclaimed loudly.
You dropped the photos into your lap and turned to look at him, placing a hand on his shoulder. “What? Just because you’re not that cute anymore, doesn’t mean you aren’t extremely handsome,” you teased softly, reaching up to stroke your hand along his jawline. Without thinking too much about it, you leaned forward and pressed your lips against his. “Urgh, you taste of coffee!” you exclaimed, immediately pulling back and dropping your hand.
He ran a hand through his hair and rolled his eyes, stubbornly taking another sip of coffee. “How can you not like the taste of coffee? You used to work in a coffee shop,” he mocked, placing his arm around you confidently.
“Maybe I’m sick of the taste,” you retorted, sticking your tongue out at him and making a show of drinking your hot chocolate.
“Well it’s lucky I like hot chocolate too,” he replied, pulling you closer for another kiss.
