Mogok ruby.

A town in Burma is the centre of ages old legends about the city of rubies, where metamorphosed limestones have turned into marble during the ongoing HImalayan orogeny and have concentrated the original aluminium and chromium content into beautiful rubies. Known for their ‘pigeon’s blood’ colour and odd shapes with many crystal faces and waxy lustre some of these specimens are truly stunning.
