invisible staircase

strange dark mist thick to move thin to grasp
gathers swirling a shapeless column
devouring the corpses of stars

a great tunnel opens shattering the universe
beyond it a garden of hands weaving
incomprehensible colors a thousand mirrors

one stab through the forehead two to the hands
threads of blood climb an invisible staircase
we start to remember how to breathe the void

butterflies storm to the mouth sealing it
the throat caged hasted the fingers in gestures
multiple symbols appear in the air

what was banished does not return
and we feast of starts while painting
new dawns for the crows
