intuitive controls

Sometimes, you do things and you do them not because you’re thinking but because you’re feeling. Because you’re feeling too much. And you can’t always control the things you do when you’re feeling too much.

I’m going to write my own review of Mass Effect: Andromeda when it comes out.

I plan to do one once I’m ~20 hours in, then another when I’ve completed the game and had some time to think about it. Because the initial joy and wonder of a new game is just as valid as your opinion of it later on, I personally believe. The opinions just come from different moments and perspectives is all. I want to be as fair as I can be, so I’ve come up with a very clear, thorough, and methodical rubric with categories and subcategories that ultimately add up to a possible 100/100. Multiplayer is excluded, however.

  • (10) Diversity/Interest of Environments

(10) Miscellaneous/Bonus

This is what separates the 90 games from the 100 ones, a great game from a “perfect” one. Here I’ll include anything that seemed groundbreaking or ingenious enough to make note of; the things that went beyond expectations and have the potential to influence the rest of the industry.

Expect a long essay from me in this format near the end of the month.
