As a vegan can you eat fish?

As a vegan, I won’t eat fish. Fish are animals, so eating fish would be eating meat, from an animal. I avoid, as best as possible, eating any animal products. I prefer a plant-based diet for its diversity in options and flavor, alkaline nature, and escape from what others say I should eat. But, even when I wasn’t a vegan, I didn’t like eating fish–that ocean smell and flavor was never for me.
