Background: One of several ships dispatched to locate and retrieve Omega Squad after their escape from Starfleet. They and the starship Bolivar cornered Omega Squad’s runabout. Captain Stuart demanded their surrender and they could explain themselves on a return trip to Earth. Both starships came under attack by a Romulan warship and took heavy damage. The Romulans departed after Omega Squad’s runabout inflicted some damage to them (and the Romulans were sure that their asset was safe). Captain Stuart let them go trusting her instinct that there was more going on, officially blaming their crippled warp drive. Later that year they were assigned by Admiral Brand to keep a discreet eye on Cadets Nog and Yoshi as they inquired into the supposed death of the rest of Omega Squad. They followed the cadets to the Romulan Neutral Zone and waited for them there. Soon after they spotted one Romulan ship firing on another, into Federation Space. After the pursuing vessel refused to acknowledge their hail they opened fire on them, forcing the Romulan ship to withdraw. Aboard the fleeing ship were Romulan dissidents (of Spock’s Unification Movement) and Omega Squad. Most of Omega Squad was dropped off at DS9 while T’Priell/Selke and Astrun were delivered to Vulcan to help with the former’s identity issues carrying T’Priell’s Katra for so long.
