another thing that annoys me is the whole “nah the thing is only good because RDJ is playing himself” like no bro RDJ is a real person who is playing tony stark, a fictional character he probably relates to in some level so he’s able to bring a special something to the role. RDJ is an iron man comics nerd RDJ walks around wearing vintage iron man t-shirts RDJ peppered comic references in his improvised lines RDJ tried to push for specific comic arcs RDJ has brought up specific iron man issues during interviews i am about 96% sure that RDJ secretly wants to fight people who diss iron man canon
my library needs expanding, my vocabulary needs improvement; my imagination needs to grow and worlds need to be added to my own, personal universe, so; can you recommend me your favourite/most memorable book(s), and tell me why you enjoyed it so much?
I am so here for seductive, powerful, badass, full of confidence Lena. But I’m also really down for ball of mush, internalized guilt, secret nerd, super sensitive Lena. I’m a slut for both. Give me both! Both is good.
Blue Beetle making Star Trek references. More to be added as I find them. I’m currently 45 issues deep in Justice League International, though, so it might take some time for me to go back through them and check for the geeky jokes.
Also, I completely forgot about the reference he makes in Convergence (thanks for reminding me, babemagi)! I need to figure out where my copy of that issue is (probably buried under my 45 retro comic books) so I can add it to the post.
EDIT: Babemagi was rad and found some more! See her post here.
Also, someone remind me to grab the issue numbers for my first couple of pictures. I think the first two are from the same issue but I’m not 100% sure.
Also also, macgyvertape is gonna try to look for/scan some more, so keep an eye out for links(?) to that! Gosh you are all so awesome.
Please fire me. The power went out at work today, and my boss asked me if I could fix it. I thought he was joking—apparently he was serious. I’m a part-time secretary. He’s a member of MENSA with a PhD.
I hope all the Black adults who were teased or bullied growing up because of their interest don’t let that justify internalized racism. What happened to you was wrong. What happened was bullying. It was inexcusable. Your experiences and feelings about it matter. It just doesn’t excuse internalized racism.
Day 10 of my 100 days of productivity! Today was yet another lazy day. I didn’t get around to doing much work, but once I made myself a nice cup of tea I managed to at least get the bare minimum done. I aimed to finish all of my re-written Psychology notes… but that did not end up happening. So it looks like I’ll be spending my weekend finishing that up :/
