Goro Miyazaki & Polygon Pictures' Ronja the Robber's Daughter Wins International Emmy

“The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the International Emmy Kids Awards on Tuesday. Goro Miyazaki and POLYGON PICTURES’ Ronja the Robber’s Daughter television anime won the Animation category.

Goro Miyazaki (Tales from Earthsea, From Up On Poppy Hill) directed the Ronja the Robber’s Daughter television anime series, titled Sanzoku no Musume Ronia in Japan. POLYGON PICTURES (Knights of Sidonia, The Sky Crawlers) animated the 3D CG series in collaboration with Studio Ghibli. Hiroyuki Kawasaki (The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Sorcerer Hunters, Ryoko’s Case File, Psychic Detective Yakumo) handled the series composition. NHK Enterprise produced the series, and NHK and Dwango handled production and writing.

Ronja the Robber’s Daughter (Sanzoku no Musume Ronja) premiered in Japan in October 2014 and ran for 26 episodes. United Kingdom-based distributor Serious Lunch acquired the worldwide rights to the series and announced last June that it is seeking English-language broadcasters.”

Do you know if we can see the Emmy Kids anywhere? Vanessa is presenting an award isn't she?

IDK really, I’m “viewing” the award’s show through their official Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/iemmys - I’m not entirely sure if it’s televised and if it is, which network, where, and for who. My guess would be Canada, except they are in NY.

Almost 10 mins ago, (aroud 9:10PM/EST, according to their Twitter feed): Vanessa presented an IE Kids award in the TV Movie/Mini Series, and it went to Lost Christmas (from the United Kingdom), not sure if she’ll present another or not, but I’ll keep keeping my eyes out!

Anyone else know?
