instruction page

hey everyone! since the holiday season is quickly approaching and this was (mostly) successful last year, i’ve decided to do another mass effect secret santa this year! (yes, i’m using the same banner as last year, because i’m too lazy to make a new one). for those of you who might not know what a secret santa is, you get assigned a person to make a gift for, somebody else gets assigned to you, and on a certain date, you reveal yourself and give them your gift! :)

here’s how it works:

  1. first, check out the INSTRUCTIONS page for details on how to sign up and important deadlines/dates. sign-ups are open until november 30th, so you have about two weeks to sign up!
  2. on december 1st, i will send you the name of your recipient. you can then look at their wishlist to see what they want, and start making your gift!
  3. on december 24th, you can start posting your gifts! again, please check the instructions page for specific guidelines on how to post your gift. i started a little late this year, so if you end up not having enough time to make your gift – that’s fine! just let me know.
  4. if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
  5. please be respectful of everyone’s opinions, and have fun! :)

when u completely bullshitted the last three papers in a class and then the prof says they love ur work and wants to use it as examples in the future

Lost hundreds of years ago, the Slayer’s tarot is an important artifact from Slayer history that came into existence after a group of women shared a vision of a rogue Slayer who would love a vampire and who would be aided in her fight against evil by a group of mystical allies. The heretical prophecy led to the suppression of the deck by the Watcher’s Council.

Written and conceived by Rachel Pollack, author of twelve books on the tarot, including the renowned 78 Degrees of Wisdom, she teams with long-time Buffy artist Paul Lee to create this one-of-a-kind tarot card set.

I’ve been seeing this lovely embroidery going around and I wanted to figure out where it was from.

I found scans from the craft book it came from with instructions:

I’ve labeled (in red) the stitch instruction pages with the letters from the key on the project page, so if you don’t read Japanese you can match them up more easily.

Have fun making your herb sachets!

I’m dealing with a problem. Many, actually.

I have this very strong urge to write nothing but completely nonsensical Luna Lovegood/Severus Snape interactions.

Snape: *lurking behind desks in the middle of Potions Class* Miss Lovegood…What are you doing?

Luna: I am making a Pepper Up Potion, sir.

Snape: ….You are supposed to be creating a Draught of Peace, Miss Lovegood. It is written on the board. I have been lecturing about this for weeks.

Luna: Yes, well, I’ve noticed that there is a bit of a cold going around the castle, and it stands to reason that there would be no better way to create a more peaceful environment than to help replenish the diminishing stock of Pepper Up Potion in the hospital wing, sir. Wouldn’t you agree?

Snape: That was not the assignment, Miss Lovegood.

Luna: The assignment was to create a Draught of Peace, sir, not THE Draught of Peace as per the instructions on page 397 of our Potions text. I believe my Pepper Up Potion will be a far better source of peace than most of the failed attempts at that potion which the other students are currently brewing. It’s quite difficult to make, you know.

Snape: That is why you are supposed to be learning how to brew it correctly, Miss Lovegood.

Luna: But I’d rather not, which is why I found an easier concoction that would fulfill the assignment of a draught which would induce peace.

Snape: I am not the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, Miss Lovegood. You cannot rationalize this blatant disregard for my instructions.

Luna: Is it rationalizing, when there is legitimate, sound reasoning, sir?

Snape: …*shakes head, walks away*

I just returned from my vacation, and was COMPLETELY stoked to see my Jinroh deck had arrived WAY before the allotted deliver time! I’m a little late to this train but I thought I’d post a couple of (shitty) pics of what came in the box. I so wish I had a scanner and a better camera, but what can you do? Tbh, I have no fucking clue how to play, but the art is mesmerizing (especially of Mephisto because I’m a slut for official Mephisto art…)

Top two: Full deck and box

Below top two: Hero’s

Three across: Villains, Neutrals, ref cards, instruction booklet, and a little card from Kato-sensei!

Bottom four: Close up shots of the front and back of ref cards, close up of instruction book, and the page explaining Mephisto’s card (the fuckin’ diva got a whole page to himself).

I still run on an older version of OBS, because I am too lazy didn’t download the new version yet, so I don’t know if it will help, but it’s worth a shot! :D

six word!

“I don’t think that’s right, Toph,” Aang said dryly from his place on the arm chair.

He lifted his brow at his roommate, slung over the couch besides him, her knees up, arms under her head, and a wide, self-satisfied smile pulled over her face. She knew it wasn’t right, and she knew Aang knew it wasn’t right, and she knew that he knew that she didn’t care.

“It’s what the instructions say, I’m just doing what ol’ Professor Fuddy-Briches wants me to do,” she answered back simply, still grinning, and added, “Just type it for me, will ‘ya.”

Aang frowned at her, then at the instructions, half the page dotted in brail, and sighed; he wasn’t going to win, and maybe it wasn’t even his battle to fight.

So, he typed, “Six Words,” on the empty Word document, and hit print, already telling himself this was not an event he would be sharing with his girlfriend Katara, less he want to live through another fight between her and Toph again.

I keep forgetting that the Hephaestus station doesn’t have gravity, so I was imagining the scene where everyone is playing Funzo. Cards everywhere, “where’s the wheel” “it’s over there”, pages of instructions floating away from Hilbert, Lovelace angrily throwing pieces behind her, Minkowski with her head in her hands at some point, Maxwell muttering something about calculating how to win, Hera actually calculating how to win.
By the way, I love Wolf 359.

dear all deitykin:

recently, as you may have noticed, nshrine has closed. i have come up with a way to put a shrine on your blog using the submit feature.

here is my shrine blog, which has a page with instructions on how to put a shrine on your own page.

if you need any help adding it, go ahead and shoot me a message at my personal blog, b-r-d-y. have fun
