.Weekend in Photos.
This weekend has been the best weekend in what feels like forever. I know i’ve said it before but it always seems to be the simplest of weekends that leave you with such happy memories.
I had Friday off work as i needed to use up some holidays (isn’t that a wonderful position to be in?!) so i started with a trip to the RSPCA to do some volunteering! I had the pleasure of spending time with Holly an energetic little Jack Russell who took me for a lovely 45 minute walk through the local woods - it’s a good job i put my big coat and my wellies on as the autumn weather is certainly taking hold, but luckily the rain stayed at bay until the evening. In the afternoon mum and I went to the gym and had a spot of lunch before i filmed a new video and headed off to the boyfriend’s house for the weekend - so productive it hurts!
Friday evening the boyfriend and I went out for a stunning dinner with friends (our first ‘double date’!) and we were all completely stuffed from the humungous portions and ample glasses of wine. We shared an anti pasti starter and then I had a delicious slate of Belly Pork with apple chutney, bacon, braised cabbage and a cream sauce, followed by the biggest pistachio and belgian chocolate ice cream sundae you’ve ever seen! It was lovely to have a catch up over delicious food, it’s good to find time for these things despite everyone being so busy.
Saturday morning the boy and i enjoyed a well deserved lie-in before making pancakes with nutella and fresh strawberries for breakfast. Did you know that because it contains fruit, it’s actually healthy?! Amazing. Early afternoon we headed out for some (very)retrained shopping and a Toffee Nut Caramella from Costa before heading back home to add a few layers of clothing and grab our gloves ready for some fireworks! The display was amazing with a million different colours exploding right over our heads - fireworks forever amaze me and i’m really glad we took the time to go find some. After the show we drove back home, snuggled down into our pjs and I made us some Hot Spiced Apple Cider and a hearty Butternut and Carrot soup with crusty bread which we enjoyed cuddled on the sofa catching up on tv and chatting away.
From the outside looking in a weekend like this seems so mundane, but when i was stood there in the cold with my boy’s arms wrapped around me watching the lights dance above us i couldn’t have been happier in that very moment and I never wanted it to end. Sometimes it’s the little things that truly take our breath away and help us remember just how lucky we truly are.
I hope your weekend was just as wonderful ♥
