Hotel L'Era De Can Burges by Brad Downey in collaboration with AKAY, 2014.

A massive 9 bedroom country house hotel, 14 km outside of Girona, Spain is turned inside-out over the course of a week.  An entire football field was covered with fabric, they carried out 168 chairs, 23 beds, and emptied the house of all its lights and art. The cook shrieked to find all of the cookware and cutlery floating in the full sized swimming pool, clinking melodically on the calm surface, when she came that evening to prepare the 10pm dinner for the thirty hotel guests.

ayyyyy more fan art for @thatsthat24 The inevitable Pixar crossover has come to fruition. This was a lot of fun, since I used a more cartoony style and simple cell-shading instead of trying to paint for once. It’s not my best pic, but I’m happy with it!

(note: classic case of the colors looking different on every monitor, sorry if they seem a little wonky!)

Feminist: There’s no positive females in Disney movies!

Me: What movies have you been watching?

[Talking about Warrior:] “I don’t think I’ve cried like that since I thought I was lost in the woods when I was 8 years old.”

Tom Hiddleston, weeping during films since 1981

  • Big Hero 6: treats emotional trauma seriously, rather than brushing it off
  • The Good Dinosaur: assures kids that having fears and anxiety is okay but you need to control it and not have it ruin your life
  • Inside Out: explains emotions well enough for children's therapy offices to use it as an example
  • Zootopia: addresses racism in a family-friendly and easy to understand way, so much so that even adults understand it better
  • Frozen: teaches young girls that they don't always need a prince to save them, sometimes they can rely on their family just as much
  • Society: but they're just kids movies :/
