Completed my Insanity Program today and it feels great dude.

After insanity, I plan to take a week to recover and do light work out, and then get right back into it again. This is how much I love this program.

Comparing my Fit Test #s from Day 1 to Day 70(I did 1 extra week to make up for a bad weekend I had in vegas), The numbers are shocking even to me.

Definitely feel way more fit, and my cardio has increased lots. 
I sound like an infomercial, but Shaun T has really put my life back on track. 

There was a time where I was super strict on my life style, eating only chicken and broccoli, salmon, fruits, etc. Strictly healthy. I would never break, never have cheat/treat meals. 

Eventually, I crumbled and gave up working out for a good 6 months and started eating terribly. I felt an enormous sense of guilt and changed slightly, but not in the way I live my life today.

Shaun T has taught me how to live healthily and happily. I get to eat healthy foods which are god damn delicious by the way, and I get my occasional treat meal once  every 2 weeks (In fact I am getting myself some Carne Asada Fries tonight to congratulate myself for completing the insanity program perfectly and healthily.)

I love Shaun T and I love this program. 

Insanity Fit Test

Okay, so I’ve decided to start the Insanity workout, but I’m not really planning on following it to a T - instead I want to use the workouts to mix things up a bit in between running and weight-lifting, so I was thinking of doing it a couple of times a week (on alternating days to lifting, so I don’t overwork my muscles and injure myself). I’m also going to be using their nutrition plan as a rough guideline (mostly just for ideas for new healthy meals because I really need to learn how to make new things).

Anyway, I started to workout with the scheduled Fit Test and ooohhh boy did it kick my ass. I’ve gotten really unfit in the last couple of months compared to where I was in the middle of soccer season (I’m actually really angry at myself for this, because Tough Mudder is only a few weeks away and I’ve gone from being able to run 10-12km easily to struggling to complete 3k… on the bright side, my lifting hasn’t suffered too much so strength-wise I’m not too hopeless).

So yeah, this Fit Test was BRUTAL and I thought I was doing really shit for each exercise.. but I seemed to be getting more of less the same numbers as the two people on the workout video (sometimes a bit more even!) so I’m not too unhappy. But I honestly had to lie down on the floor for 5 minutes after it was finished without moving just to recover. God if this is only the fitness test, I don’t even want to think what the actual workouts will be like..

Anyway, here are my results:

Daily update - Final Insanity Day 63 - Fit test

This is it. I’ve done it. I’ve completed my first Insanity round.
2 months, 63 days, 43 hours or 2581 minutes of hard, sweaty, fun, dedicated work. And here I am, proud as a peacock.

Like I told you before, this journey didn’t bring me where I want to be… but I’m thankful for not being where I used to be. I was a faithless, unconfident girl who hated herself, even though I had everything. Everything but self-esteem.

I learned to love my body. I truly love it now. When I look at the mirror, I’m not disgusted anymore. I’m not ashamed. I’m damn proud. Yes, I see flaws -nobody is flawless anyway-, but I look at them with optimism now, and I know that I’ll keep working, so someday, for example, I won’t have those flabby arms.

I feel strong now.

Here are my new fit test results:

HEY! So I took another rest day after my scheduled one because of family reasons. but I’m back!  Today I did my FIT TEST #2 and I’ll have to admit, I IMPROVED!

Here are my scores…

Overall I improved but I sucked up at Low Plank Obliques… but that doesn’t hurt me too bad.  Knowing that I improved for the majority of it I am proud to say THESE ARE MY SCORES!

Tomorrow is my Plyometric Cardio Circuit!  Let’s keep going! ½ done with the first month! 

Day 1 of Insanity: FIT TEST COMPLETE !

Mady: My little sister Leslie and I are at it again and this time we are not stopping! It takes 21 days to make a habit, and that’s what my sis and I are GOING TO DO! From keeping up with Insanity everyday, to eating right, to writing on our daily Fitblr blog!

As of that, Day 1 was good, did my best at everything! My sis and I are great workout buddies because today we kind of competed to see who did more on our results, which is always a good thing. I am excited for the next fit test to see the difference it makes. We will be posting our first fit test results tomorrow! :)

Leslie: I felt my body shaking during the fitness test, letting me know that I AM NOT IN SHAPE FOR ANY KIND OF WORK OUT. I felt like I could not continue  still found it helpful to know how much work I need to improve on my body and my health. But also whats gonna keep me going is the count down to the after picture !! 

Okay so today is the week I actually decided to take Insanity seriously (and when I say seriously, I mean diet properly - which in my opinion is essential to this workout)

I’m too sad to post any of my actual measurements.. but I will post my results.
I have absolutely no clue if these are rubbish or not, but I can and will say that I died a little at a time for those 25 minutes.

My favorite part was where Shaun T. decided to share the results and improvements of his fitness clones. They have abs and muscles. I have flab and death. But at least he’s not a sadist and smiling about the burn and pain you are experiencing but rather pushing you on. Good going Shaun T.
