We are incredibly honored to call local icon, Chuck Munson, one of this year’s Local Featured Tablers!  Chuck can’t seem to get zines out of his blood.  He is an artist, librarian, and web developer who has been publishing and writing about zines for over 30 years. He was a co-editor of Praxis and The Gentle Anarchist zines, published in Lawrence in the 1980s. In Madison, Wisconsin, he edited The Journal of Disjunctive Librarianship and started his long running zine, Practical Anarchy. In the late 90s he became a co-editor of Alternative Press Review, which published excerpts from zines and reviewed them. More recently in Kansas City, he co-edited Undercurrent: A Zine About Kansas City.

Chuck is a long time proponent of radical activism, and founder of the online hub, and the former Crossroads Infoshop in Kansas City.  Chuck was active within the American Library Association as an advocate for zines and small publishers. He even got Dr. Laura and the right wing mad about his library activism. He has a B.F.A. in Painting/Sculpture from the University of Kansas and an M.A. in Library Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He will be sharing some of his zines, including copies of historic ones, at KC Zine Con #1.  He may also be creating a few new ones just for the Con.
