“Giant Stag Beetle” (Dorcus titanus)

…a large species of stag beetle (Lucanidae) which inhabits tropical rainforests throughout Indonesia other areas in Southeast Asia. Dorcus titanus individuals can grow quite large with males averaging from 32-111 mm and females averaging 36-54 mm.

Really neat multi-level waterfall in rainforest, West Java


In every jungle around the world, you’re bound to find some animals most people find “scary”, usually hiding between the leaf litter. Some of the most well-known of these “scary” animals are snakes and spiders. So I’ve given three species of those from  jungles all over the world a nice house to live in, in a hill that’s cut in half for the purpose. And they’re behind glass, so visitors don’t have to worry about anything crawling up their pants.
