Just to be clear:

Some incorrupt saints are skeletons but not all skeletons are incorrupt.

Some wax effigies are incorrupt saints but not all incorrupt saints are wax effigies.

Some incorrupt saints are preserved but to be incorrupt you cannot be preserved.

Confused yet? Then take a look at my photo essay on Atlas Obscura and all will be revealed. And by the way, only three of the above saints are incorrupt… but you’ll have to read the article to find out which ones.

O Jesus and Mary, let my entire consolation in this world be to love you and to suffer for sinners. O Jesus, I would rather die a thousand deaths than be unfaithful to you!

I must die to myself continually and accept trials without complaining. I work, I suffer and I love with no other witness than His heart. Anyone who is not prepared to suffer all for the Beloved and to do His will in all things is not worthy of the sweet name of Friend, for here below, Love without suffering does not exist.

I shall spend every moment loving. One who loves does not notice her trials; or perhaps more accurately, she is able to love them. O my Mother, to you I sacrifice all other attachments so that my heart may belong entirely to you and to my Jesus.

I shall do everything for Heaven, my true home. There I shall find my Mother in all the splendor of her glory. I shall delight with her in the joy of Jesus himself in perfect safety.

From this moment on, anything concerning me is no longer of any interest to me. I must belong entirely to God and God alone, never to myself.

Love overcomes, love delights. Those who love the Sacred Heart rejoice.

Jesus, my God, I love you above all things.

Amazing, Beautiful, and Other-Worldly: Incorrupt Bodies Of The Saints

Amazing, Beautiful, and Other-Worldly: Incorrupt Bodies Of The Saints

The Incorruptibles are saints whose bodies, through no scientific reason, have been miraculously preserved after their death, defying decomposition.  They are not mummies, because their skin is soft and limbs pliable, unlike the dry, skeletal remains of the former.  Usually nothing has been done to preserve the bodies of the Incorruptibles.  Many of them give off a sweet, unearthly scent, while…

This is me with the incorrupt body of St. Paula Frassinetti. Now normally I wouldn’t dream of taking a selfie with a corpse but the nun who showed me her body was the nicest lady in the world. She was so enthusiastic when I asked if I could take photos that she insisted on taking a photo of me with St. Paula! There is no way I can say no to a nice nun…

I’m working on a blog post on incorruptible saints but until then, like my All the Saints You Should Know page on Facebook for outtakes and B-sides from my trip to Rome. I’m posting a lot of smaller one-off photos and anecdotes there.

Bella and Jack’s relationship is like the only incorruptable thing on this show.  Even the dogs were corrupted when they ate Mason’s flesh.  Hannibal intervened and meddled, true, but that didn’t change Jack and Bella’s relationship, and Hannibal’s stupid little note didn’t sour Bella’s funeral.  Their love is beyond Hannibal’s ability to tamper- it’s too pure.

but… scott mccall being the only one to remember allison and thinking she should be here,

not lydia, not stiles scott. Scott Mccall who will move on and who will be happy but who will always— in some small hidden incorruptible part of his soul—love Allison Argent with everything he’s got.

Scott Mccall who wrote Allison Argent right next to him, where she will always belong.

I liked Pierre Bellec a lot. A lot of people refer to him as a traitor but the way I see it, he was the only one with an incorruptible cause. He realised that the creed existed for reasons much noble than petty political favours and worked hard to see it restored. It’s a shame Arno was such a dick to him. Pierre would have made a great leader if alive.

anonymous asked:

So who do you think is the most pure of heart (incorruptible) of the heroes?

That’s kind of hard to answer

I think maybe Martian Manhunter or The Flash

I think The Flash is a lot more pure of heart, he doesn’t even fight his villains but rather try’s to help them out

I remember a quote that says “ The fastest man alive was always late because he stopped to help everyone he met”

Remember that time that Jaime Reyes parroted Superman? Remember that other time where the evil Titans of the future came back in time to kill him because he was one of the few that were incorruptible?

One thing I’ve always loved about Jaime is just how unerringly, uncompromisingly decent he is. He tries to have compassion for everyone, he tries to never give up on anyone, he tries to save everyone. While Supes and Wonder Woman and Bats all have their sidekicks and legacy heroes (and they’re all great, decent heroes) Jaime’s probably one of the heroes of his generation that most exemplifies that spirit of altruism and compassion heroes like Superman embody.

You just know he’s gonna grow up to be one of the greats.

For God created us for incorruption, and made us in the image of his own eternity, but through the devil’s envy death entered the world, and those who belong to his company experience it.

Can we please get rid of this discourse which divides people into “pro-science” and “anti-science” and as such lumps people who deny climate change or think vaccinations cause autism into the same vague grouping as people who are critical of genetic modification (like I am or like La Via Campesina is) or the pharmaceuticals industry.

Its a shitty discourse which elevates so called “scientific” knowledge above ideology and presents a view that science is somehow incorruptible and beyond control by elites, and that people don’t have totally legitimate reasons to not trust the health system, pharmaceutical companies or international food corporations.
