Sooooo, I did a thing. Or rather, I got a thing done. Anywho, I found the picture on Pinterest and the music notes on the staff are certain parts of Oceans by Hillsong. I absolutely adore it, also thank you @erica_nicole for coming with meeee!

I wanted to get a bird, because so often birds symbolize freedom. There are so many things I’m seeking or have found freedom from - the most significant ones being my own self doubt and lack of self esteem.

“Freedom” also, to me, meaning the freedom to live the life I want to live, the way I want to live it. I’ve always suffered from what we all love to call “people pleasing.” But you have to come to a point where you make decisions for you and your own good.

Lastly, the song “Oceans” by Hillsong UNITED has really been my theme song - especially when thinking about working at summer camp and my first year of college. My comfort zone is only as large as my own skin - taking working at a summer camp and going to a new school (twice!) out of it.

The song “Oceans” is about God being with you through everything, about being out of your comfort zone and knowing that you can rely on your faith anyway. The first two lines can either apply to “in oceans deep, my faith will stand” or “you’ve never failed, and you won’t start now.”

The third line refers to the line, “your sovereign hand will be my guide,” but I only used the “be my guide” notes, something I need to remind myself to ask God to do, as well as remind myself that God will do without prompting.

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Oceans - Hillsong United

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown, where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep, my faith will stand

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find you in the mystery
In oceans deep, my faith will stand
