in this photos she's looks like taylor swift

We can actually hear Swift’s critics rolling their eyes. But here’s one of the best things about the star , Even when she’s mocked for writing thinly veiled songs about her love life or criticized for going completely pop and not sticking to her country roots, Swift still follows her own path.
This is a woman who will tell her record label, when instructed not to venture too far off in a new direction, sorry, “but this is how it’s going to be.” She knows what she wants. She knows who she is. And if you don’t like it, she’ll just shake off the criticism and write a song about doing so that you secretly won’t be able to stop singing.
That’s pretty gutsy in an industry that’s running scared. Here are five other reasons why you can’t help but like Taylor Swift, even if you’re not a fan:
1. The catch factor
Have you ever caught yourself singing a catchy ditty and not even remembering how you know the lyrics? It was probably a Taylor Swift track.
Her music has a way of permeating every facet of popular culture, to the point that you don’t have to buy her albums to recognize the twang from “You Belong with Me” or sing the hook from “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
2. Ten Grammys later, still more likely to be found baking with cats
Taylor Swift is one of the most recognizable pop stars on the planet, and we can only imagine the access that kind of fame can yield. We would not be at all surprised if the singer could jet from Milan to Tokyo in the blink of an eye in a private jet with seats lined in mink.
But instead of the usual shenanigans you hear about from the very young, privileged and wealthy, Swift is more likely to be found baking cookies or playing with a new kitten.
In other words, probably the exact same things she’d be doing if she weren’t famous, which is a rare thing to witness.
3. She obsesses over the same TV shows
Speaking of those cats, one of them is named Olivia Benson, as in one of the starring detectives on “Law & Order: SVU.” Another one of the star’s feline friends is named after Meredith Grey on Shonda Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Many celebrities claim to be fans of their famous peers work, but Swift appears to be just as obsessed with your favorite TV shows as you are, almost as if she forgot that she, too, is on the A-list.
4. She’s BFFs with everyone, including her fans
It’s not hard to rattle off Taylor Swift’s famous friends, because she has a growing collection that includes everyone from Selena Gomez and Lorde to actresses Jaime King and Lena Dunham.
But what makes Swift win over in the skeptics is her connection with her fans. She knows at least one of her supporters so well that she could make a surprise appearance at the fan’s bachelorette party with complete ease, posing for pictures and handing over a gift that she knew her fan would like. We’ll say that again: She knows her fans well enough that she can buy them personalized presents. Who does that?
5. Her parties are as dorky as yours
While some stars are always sharing photos of their exclusive vacations in exotic faraway locales, Swift’s get-togethers look like they could’ve been photographed in your neighbor’s backyard. Fourth of July? She’s baking a holiday-themed cake and hitting the Slip N’ Slide. Christmas season? She’s even constructed homemade holiday cards . And of course, as endlessly chronicled on Social media , you know Swift will always dance like no one’s watching.

Yeah I think if you can't see her face, then it's a waste of money for publications, and sure you can see Joes but he's unknown/doesn't get website hits.

the pictures blew up in the days since. And i think that the one i’m posting below from Vanity Fair is *exactly* what Taylor wanted the public to take away from all this time. things maybe like: – My life is mine not yours for entertainment, since you cant seem to leave me alone, let me prove that to you. You’re tired of me i get it, peace out. Im tired of you up in my rs. When i say im layin low i mean it. You’re gonna be making stories up about me based on pics to make money, i see how it is, im gonna give u nothing now! Welcome to the privacy era!

IN HIDING Taylor Swift Is Really Committed to This Laying Low Thing, Huh?

The singer was photographed with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn—allegedly. Both of their faces were concealed beneath hoodies.

Ever since Taylor Swift vowed to stay out of the public eye, she’s largely kept that promise. Well, her exact words were, “As far as I know I’m only doing one show in 2017, and as far as I know, this is that show,” spoken during a pre-Super Bowl concert in February. So that’s maybe less of a vow and more of a calendar update. Regardless. In October 2015 she ventured this thought: “I think I should take some time off. I think people might need a break from me.” And then, off-the-record, she told Kanye West in the infamous call tapes, “I’m like this close to overexposure.”

Like many celebrities before her, Taylor recognized that it was possible to be too famous. But unlike many of them, she took action to fix it, and then actually kept her word.

Fourth of July came and went without her annual Rhode Island celebration, known colloquially as Taymerica. The only photos of the star released publicly since the February concert have been taken with new boyfriend Joe Alwyn, and they’re grainy, as if taken with an incredibly long lens. (Unlike, say, the remarkably sharp paparazzi photos that first introduced Taylor and Tom Hiddleston to the world.) There’s the one on a Nashville balcony and the one supposedly boarding her jet in the U.K. The only social media we’ve seen from her is in service of her friends’ music releases—one Instagram for each, Selena Gomez, the sisters Haim, and Lorde, plus a small video shout-out to Russell Westbrook, this past N.B.A. season’s M.V.P., and a word of support tweeted after the Manchester bombing.

So enamored were we with the idea that Swift has been acing the laying low directive that when a Splash News paparazzi claimed the singer was carried out of her Tribeca apartment in a big box, it didn’t feel completely beyond the realm of possibility (the photo service since retracted the claim). And now, for further proof that Taylor Swift is still committed to giving the world a breather from Taylor Swift, compare what going to the gym in 2016 looks like to what going to the gym in 2017 looks like:

Swift is known for her creative paparazzi-avoidance tactics, like walking backward so they can’t train their lens on her face. But all these hoodies and grainy photos just go to show that if the most famous people in the world don’t wish to be seen, they won’t be seen. Swift is no exception, and it’s unlikely we’ll see her until she ready for us to see her—with an album in tow.

(x)

I hate that people are liking and rebloging those candids because I think it’s absolutely disgusting that they were even taken. Taylor wants to be out of the spot light. She wore a sweatshirt with the hood up in the summer! No one does that unless they don’t want to be seen! So please just so some respect for Taylor.

ED SHEERAN IS TAKING A PAGE FROM TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAT-CRAZY PLAYBOOK

63% CHANCE HE’S THINKING ABOUT CATS IN THIS PHOTO TBH

HILARY HUGHES 6h ago

First, Taylor Swift got Meredith. Then, she brought home Olivia, and her Instagram was suddenly flush with adorable vids of her cats pretending that they’re people and their little smushed Scottish Fold faces in various states of cute.

Then, her bff Ed Sheeran — also a feline enthusiast, as proven by his cat tattoos (dude has a lion chestpiece, FFS) and his own adopted kitty, Graham — took a year-long social media hiatus, only to return with new music and photos of a super cute Scottish Fold that looks like it could be the British cousin of Meredith and Olivia.

Caught in the act

Meredith and Olivia may be weirdos who like to stand up all the time, but Ed’s cat is a snack bandit that makes the best “IT WASN’T ME” face pretty much ever. This is the face of a cat that can get away with anything, and it’s definitely the face of a cat that was born for Instagram fame.

So, c'mon, Taylor. MOAR CAT FOTOZ PLZ. Ed’s outdoing you, here.

@taylorswift

every day i take a little moment to myself to be like…wow taylor swift had a YEAR last year didn’t she? like that was a YEAR that she just had… girl probably didn’t know what inspiration meant until 2016 like i’m literally shaking in my boots thinking about what kind of music is going to come out of this i mean honestly this is the woman who took one look at an old photo and wrote a song… this is the woman who says she can write a song about making eye contact with someone from across a room??? and now she’s got THIS to work with??? i’m speechless

When in Paris! Celebs Pose With the Eiffel Tower

Look out, Paris! This year’s Bastille Day celebration will bring none other than our Twitter-obsessed president, Donald Trump, who will attend the traditional July 14 military parade down the Champs-Élysées with French President Emmanuel Macron. But all through the year, celebrities love visiting the City of Light — and being in the capital city gets them posing like tourists.

Chris Pratt

“Just had a groundbreaking idea to touch the tip of the Eiffel Tower in this photo,” joked the Jurassic Park star in November. “I said, ‘Hey, I’m about to do something nobody has ever done before… This pose is now legally called a #chrisPratt. I have patented it. If you do this pose you can be sued.” Good luck with that. (Photo: Chris Pratt via Instagram)

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian never misses a photo op, so it’s no surprise she rounded up her girl gang for a shot in front of the iconic monument before her 2014 wedding. (She reshared the pic a year later.) These days, she has mixed feelings about the city though. (Photo: Kim Kardashian via Instagram)

The Impact of Taylor Swift's Victory

I think that when taylor won, everyone won. Taylor’s victory shows that it doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like but if someone hurts you and you feel discomfort, you should stand up for yourself and you shouldn’t be scared. Taylor is an a-list celebrity who’s followed by the paparazzi, critics, and media that criticize her all the time, but she still stood up for herself. Even when mtv or tmz (i forgot which one) released the photo. Even when the trial became public. She stood up for herself and won. And if you feel like you were hurt before, you can stand up for yourself too.

just remember to always be brave, like taylor :)

@taylorswift @taylorswift @taylorswift

I am constantly misunderstood; a lot of people just don’t get me. It’s like how I’m perceived to be constantly going out with people. I’m just not. It’s like she’s a hopeless romantic so she’s a serial monogamist, always dating. They look at me and think: ‘Oh she has to be in love or she’s not happy.’ It is possible for a woman to be a romantic but also to be single and to be happy.

We are dealing with a huge self-esteem crisis. These girls are able to scroll pictures of the highlight reels of other people’s lives, and they’re stuck with the behind-the-scenes of their own lives. They wake up and they look at their reflection in the mirror, and they compare it to some filtered, beautiful photo of some girl who’s really popular and seems like she has it all together. This is not what you and I had to deal with when we were 12. It’s so easy and readily available to compare yourself to others and to feel like you lose.

The Day Pigs Flew (AKA The Day I Met Taylor Swift)

I wanted to write this experience about the 1989 Secret Session in Nashville, not only so others who have been asking could read about my amazing night, but so that I too will be able to look back at this and reminisce on the happiest time of my life. I guess before getting into the story of what happened Sunday, I should tell you a little bit more about my history of loving taylorswift. It all started when I was 17 and I heard my first Taylor song: Teardrops On My Guitar. At the time I had the BIGGEST crush on a boy I sat next to in Home Ec class. He, of course, had a crush on a girl who was in the class as well. When I first heard Teardrops, I was blown away by just how similar my experience was to Taylor’s with the infamous Drew. I had always loved the lyrics of songs before and connecting to music, but that song was the first time a song every really spoke to me. I played it over and over SO many times that year. It was also my Myspace song for a long time, so you all who remember Myspace know how big of a deal this was!

I was a casual fan of Taylor’s for a few more years, right before the Fearless era began. By the time that album came out I was in my freshman year of college and I remember specifically being in my dorm room and purchasing the CD off Amazon. It was right around the same time that Love Story truly took off and Taylor’s career began to skyrocket. Many of the angrier/sadder songs off of Fearless (Forever & Always, Tell Me Why, You’re Not Sorry) helped me through that first tough year of college where, for the first time, I was experiencing real relationships – and real heartbreaks. Once again I was blown away by Taylor’s ability to really put my own feelings and frustrations into lyrical form.

My love affair with Taylor truly began during the Speak Now era. I fell deeply in an intense like with someone and then went through one of the toughest heartbreaks of my life the same year this album came out. This particular someone who made my world a very dark place for a while, in the same way that the man who inspired Dear John did for Taylor. I connected to the song so deeply and every lyric was so accurate. I didn’t even know how to feel after it all ended, but it was Taylor’s music that kept me going. There were days of my crying on the bathroom floor to Last Kiss. Days of me being angry and bitter listening to Dear John. This was also around the same time that I cut many of my “friends” out of my life. These people had never supported me, consistently cut me down, and used the guise of “friendship” and “jokes” to continue doing so. Eventually I’d had enough and it was the song Mean that spoke to me and helped me break away from these toxic people, even when I felt so completely alone. Luckily I was able to become good friends with a girl named Kara, also thanks to bonding over Taylor’s music. Kara, her sister, and I even dressed up as Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook (a reference to Never Grow Up) for the Speak Now World Tour in Lexington in the hopes of meeting Taylor, to no avail.

The album Red was announced right before my last year of college began. I didn’t know how important the album would become at the time, but it traced the next two years of my life so painstakingly perfectly. During those two years, my own Red years, I went through an even bigger heartbreak – one that nearly destroyed me and killed my belief in love altogether. Red was the album I turned to in these dark times, because I knew that, although no one else understood, Taylor would. There is nothing more comforting than knowing someone else has felt what you’re feeling. Right before graduating college in May, I attended the Lexington Red Tour show at the very end of April. I was so stressed about getting ready to graduate, but planning to see Taylor made me forget about all my worries instantly. My best friend and I dressed up in matching outfits and headed to the concert, unaware of what would soon happen. Right after Ed finished his set and Taylor went on, I spotted Andrea Swift walking by and SCREAMED as loud as possible. She turned right around, walked up and said to me, “You two look like you need to be in the front row.” I could not believe it! Mama Swift ushered us to the front. I kept noticing two of my friends, Conner and Delani, pointing and trying to tell me something. That something turned out to be that, right at the end of State Of Grace, Taylor Swift gave her hat to the person sitting in the front row. That person? ME! I was absolutely hysterical when this happened and there are plenty of photos and videos to prove it. That night helped me to believe in impossible things and made graduating not seem as absolutely daunting and horrifying as it once had been. It gave me hope for the future, which is exactly what I needed.

The announcement of 1989 and Shake It Off arrived at another perfect time in my life. I had just went through another breakup of sorts (I promise I don’t do that as often as it may sound) and Shake It Off’s message of being yourself, moving on and learning to be OK again helped carry me through. I had applied to go to NYC for the livestream reveal and Kara even wrote a really wonderful email to Taylor’s team telling them to pick me, but after I did not get picked I assumed all hope was lost. That was all proven so wrong when, last Tuesday, I got the call from Taylor’s team that I had been chosen for a top-secret opportunity in Nashville involving Taylor Swift. Little details was given, but, thanks to the secret session LA the week before, I was fairly certain this what would be occurring. Amazingly enough, Kara also got picked! Having to keep this secret from so many of my friends and coworkers was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. The five days in between were the longest to get through and I was so sick for so long, but I somehow managed to make it. Sunday morning I woke up early and headed to Target for some last minute things. I found socks with pigs flying on them and purchased immediately, because this was the day I would be meeting Taylor swift; the day I wasn’t sure would ever come; the day pigs literally flew. Kara and I ventured to Nashville, playing all of taylorswift’s CDs in chronological order, reminiscing on our favorite songs and talking about the boys and memories that we related to them all. The entire day I was one big ball of nerves. What if this was a joke? What if I’m being sold into sex slavery? I couldn’t be too sure about what awaited me. Finally the time came to arrive at the meeting spot and we all lined up to give the secret password, get wanded, have our belongings taken, and get on a bus. Everyone I met there was SO friendly. I could tell everyone was nervous, but seeing people that I have known online for so long and other friends bonding over seeing one another made me realize how deep our love for Taylor runs. Bonding with other Swifties who love Taylor as much as I do made the experience even better, because I knew they understood me unlike most other people.

After getting on the bus and being told by a security guard that we were chosen for this event because we weren’t crazy and we needed to respect the house we were going to, we headed for the secret location. Soon after pulling into the gated area we were ushered to the nicest ports-potties I’d ever seen – complete with S paper towels and walked to the back of the house in groups. Here we were able to mingle with one another, eat food, drink Diet Coke (naturally), and get filmed by a cameraman. During this time I could barely consume anything. I think in total I had 4 grapes and 3 pieces of cauliflower. I was interviewed with a few other girls I met and Kara, where they asked about what we thought we were there for, how excited we were and more. Members of Taylor’s team (who are all SO AMAZING and SO NICE) came around taking Polaroids of our groups and then walked us all into a living room covered in comfy pillows. There were so many of us there that it was extremely hot and crowded in the beginning and the anticipation of what was about to happen made it even crazier. I knew something was about to happen when tissue boxes started being passed around and, soon enough, Taylor Swift herself appeared! The room went wild and Taylor greeted us by announcing that Becky was dead and we must have a moment of silence. She instantly made us all feel welcome and comfortable, something that I’m still amazed from given where we were and who we were in the presence of. She told us that she had been watching us all on social media, calling out many fans by name and referencing specific photos and tweets. Sure enough, we were there for the second listening session to hear 1989. She also told us that we were in her parents’ home and in the very same room where she wrote I Knew You Were Trouble. Before every track Taylor would explain what inspired the song, giving us backstory, cowriter information and more. She would lip-sync the words and bounce her head around and make eye contact with each and every one of us, it was so cute and adorable! Let me tell you, Taylor is so extremely grateful for us fans. She told us all how appreciative she was that we were out there fighting the good fight and making sure people knew that she was more than just boys and other stupid stuff. After playing the first half of 1989, Taylor announced an intermission and told us she was going to get more snacks. Right when she stood up she and I made eye contact and she literally made her way through the crowd to hug me and said, “I’m so glad you’re here, you have no idea.” I couldn’t believe it. Taylor Swift, the girl I have loved and listened to for nearly a decade knew who I was and was happy to see me. Soon after, Taylor returned with these delicious chai cinnamon eggnog cookies, dark chocolate peppermint cookies, and heart-shaped Rice Krispies. I only got to try the chai cinnamon egg nog cookies, but I told Taylor, and I quote, “They taste like Christmas in your mouth!” to which she replied, “That’s what I was going for!” Taylor Swift and I just had an actual conversation with actual words in her actual parents’ home. WHAT EVEN. Taylor and I also got to talk about her favorite cooking blogs and her knowledge of cooking terms (and my lack thereof). Olivia was brought out and the room went just as wild as they did when Taylor herself walked out! Olivia is the cutest cat in existence, a tiny white ball of fluff that you just can’t help but love. Taylor told us that Olivia was actually the last one to be picked of her litter, which is part of the reason Taylor chose her. We started the second half of the album and Tay once again told us about every song, singing along and bobbing her head to each one. The way she made a conscious effort to look at everyone in the room was amazing to me. She even looked at me quite a few times, singing directly to me! Once the album was finished, Shake It Off began playing and a dance party started – a dance party I’m pretty sure unlike any other. The floors of Taylor’s parents’ home was SHAKING, it felt as though they would collapse under us at any moment. But I had just met Taylor Swift and she knew who I was, so I think that would have been pretty OK. Let me tell you, you haven’t truly danced to Shake It Off until you’ve danced to Shake It Off with Taylor Swift. Once this ended, we were all ushered back outside to line up for Polaroids with Taylor. I was in group 3, so I was able to go in pretty early on. I got to watch Kara introduce herself to Taylor and tell her all about the bond that she and her sister had thanks to Ms. Swift’s music and Taylor was so happy to hear about that. Kara asked that we all three get a photo together and Taylor happily obliged.

After Kara finished talking, it was my turn! I walked right up to Taylor and hugged her, reminding her of the time she gave me the hat at Red Tour Lexington. I had thought long and hard about questions I wanted to ask Taylor so I wouldn’t screw up what might be my one chance at meeting her. I was able to finally ask what song the guy didn’t get in Begin Again and she told me. (That’s something I’m choosing to hold onto and I hope you all understand). I also told her about my recent breakup and how it was just like one of the songs on 1989. She then gave me the best love advice I’d ever been given: “Imagine it this way: You’re selling your house and he offers to buy it for 17 cents. And you say ‘No deal,’ because it’s only 17 cents. He gets mad and is like, "But I’m offering to buy your house!” and you say, “But you’re offering to buy it for 17 CENTS.” And you are worth more than 17 cents.“ Those words I will carry with me for the rest of my life and I can never thank her enough for sharing that metaphor with me. Taylor then told me she loved how emotive I was while listening to the album and that she loved watching my expressions, because she would be able to tell what a crowd’s reaction would be based on my own. I guess being so emotional does have its advantages sometimes. ;) Taylor asked me how I wanted my picture to be and I told her that I had to have a Taylor Swift hug one, so that I could remember it for the rest of my life. As I was leaving I said, "Thanks for stalking me!” and she yelled back, “Any time!” I was interviewed by the same cameraman once more once I left the house and then given a bag of new Taylor merchandise from her team. They hugged me and told me how cute they thought I was as well and I then got back on the bus. All of us on the bus waited (im)patiently for our Polaroids to develop and all reminisced on what had just happened. I think everyone was still in disbelief. We arrived back at the meeting location and were reminded about not sharing any song titles/lyrics/etc. and it was off we went. The internet was insane the entire way home and I was so glad to finally be able to share my secret. Words can’t truly sum up how happy that night made me. I had dreamed of that day for so long and it surpassed even my wildest dreams. I have to also thank Taylor’s team for being so kind and wonderful and for rewarding fans in such an extraordinary way. I can’t wait for all of you to hear 1989! It truly is her best album to-date and I know all of you are going to be so proud of our girl in the same way she is so proud of the perfect album she has crafted. I can’t thank taylorswift enough for inviting all of us into her parents’ home, for trusting us with this amazing album so early, for treating us like her friends, for writing music that resonates with us all, for EVERYTHING. She has traced my formative years with her music, guided me with her lyrics, and evolved right along with me. She gave me hope when I had none. She showed me light when all I saw was darkness. She reminded me to have strength even when I felt so weak. I could never repay her for all she’s done for me. As I told the cameraman when I left, that day is the day I will think back to even in my darkest moments, a day I will carry with me wherever I go.

My senior prom was on May 9th, 2015 and you could probably say I was the biggest Swiftie there. ;) Months earlier I happened to stumble upon Taylor Swift’’s “Begin Again” music video dress and I died. I just had to have the dress for prom! Last year I had already worn a purple-y dress so I decided to go with another color. The website I got it from ( thecelebritydresses.com ) could practically do it in any color so I chose red. This way I could also wear my red Nars “Dragon Girl” lipstick just like Taylor herself. ;) Last year for my junior prom I had a date and this year I did not, so it was a different experience. I was totally fine going single, and was thankful for my best friend letting me third wheel with her and her boyfriend. I had a lot of fun, but the slow dances were a little lonely for me. So I looked to Taylor for help. With the release of 1989 she has inspired me to be even more confident in myself and has helped me embrace the single life. :) I still had a blast with my friends and practically dropped dead when Shake It Off started playing. I can never thank Taylor enough for all that she does for me. She inspires me everyday and I look up to her tremendously. Thank you TayTay!! love love love, Danielle

My sister and I are going to the Seattle 1989 Tour show on August 8th, 2015 and I am so excited to meet other Swifties and see the queen of course! :)

Please help me get taylorswift to see this

This is one of my favourite pictures ever. I remember this moment so well. She came over and touched my hand and tried to reach to people behind me but no one reached back. Taylor looked at me again and we kinda giggled at that and I remember she kept looking at me as she started to walk away. It was so amazing and I’ll never forget it, it just felt like we were friends or something. taylorswift (Photo credit to Vincent)

You should post this article from Denver Post - it's timely in light of TMZ photo leak. DP writes about depositions that reveal Taylor and Andrea struggling to decide what to do after the assault - whether to go to police or not: denverpost(.)com/2016/11/12/taylor-swift-struggled-over-seeking-groping-charges/

Here is the article, most of it below the cut, as it might be triggering for people. But for anyone wondering why “she didnt go to the police” i think its evident she didnt want this out there, to define her, to follow her for the rest of her life, for a very private matter in which she describes feeling humiliated, embarrassed and violated, because news, become the subject of jokes, bc she knew it would. Which is absolutely understandable. And yet, like abusers do, he has continued to make her life hell even after the incident itself has concluded.

After claiming she was groped, Taylor Swift struggled over whether to seek charges against man

The night Taylor Swift claimed that a radio-show host groped her before a Denver concert, witnesses said she smiled bravely during numerous subsequent photograph sessions with fans before breaking down in sobs in her mother’s arms in her dressing room.

It was June 2, 2013, and the superstar singer’s evening was just beginning.

Inside Taylor Swift’s Quarter-Life Retrospective by the Grammy Museum

One of the museum’s most successful exhibits ever arrives in New York.

“The Taylor Swift Experience,” an exhibit on the life and accolades of 26-year-old Taylor Swift that the Grammy Museum put together, starts at the very beginning. Ensconced in a glass case is Swift’s first ever outfit, the “hooded sweater gown” in which her parents took her home from the hospital. The tiny dress would be deemed super cute by any fair standards, but it’s also perceptively ordinary. It’s a woven garment that could have been worn by any baby carted home by any parents in any place; it just happened to be the first look of a 10-time Grammy-winning, world-class musician.

The gown, along with some other pieces from the first few years of Swift’s life, are new additions to the exhibit, which just moved from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, where it resided for nearly a year, to a two-story space in New York’s Seaport District. The newest iteration opened Friday morning. I didn’t see the exhibit when it was in L.A., but the baby clothes along with a few other curiosities from her childhood seem to give it an important bookend to the story it’s trying to tell—that is, this everygirl has been grinding since day one, and that’s why a quarter-life retrospective is warranted at a museum that’s put together similar shows for Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra.

“It’s important for us to have [the childhood items] in this exhibit because we really want the fans and the visitors to go through the journey with her,” Nwaka Onwusa, the exhibit’s curator, told Vanity Fair. “This wasn’t an overnight success. Taylor’s been working at her career since she could talk, so we captured those moments in videos, like [the home-video installation] ‘Taylor Swift in Her Own Words,’ where you can really see her in those baby clothes, coming from the hospital to banging on a little piano to just singing along at the radio.”

The first installation, located beside the glass case holding Swift’s baby clothes, is full of childhood ephemera. A collage of family photos, children’s books she owned, and framed glamour shots of the singer and her brother that look like they were plucked from her parent’s mantel, are among its artifacts. But the kid stuff is quickly interrupted by the flowing green dress that she wore in her “Teardrops on My Guitar” video in 2009, and the handwritten (and hand-bedazzled) letters she’d send to record producers. Though she wasn’t an “overnight success,” she was an early success.

The carefully assembled evidence of nose-to-the-grindstone work is one of the reasons it doesn’t seem strange that a person in the spring of her life has essentially a museum dedicated to her. In fact, with the sheer volume of meticulously laid-out items—from Grammy-performance costumes to tour costumes to red-carpet dresses to guitars to the giant silver piano from her 1989 tour—a visitor can almost forget the singer is just 26 years old.

The exhibit keeps getting bigger every year, as one might expect for a life in media res. The dress she wore while giving the now-legendary 2016 Grammys speech in which she alluded to her appearance in Kanye’s “Famous,” now sits adjacent to the M.T.V. Video Music Awards momentthey shared in 2009. A video compilation of her 13-hour fan meet-and-greet in Nashville in 2010 is across the room from a flat-screen playing home videos on loop with Swift voice-over, narrating her origin story, from Reading, Pennsylvania to Nashville, Tennessee. The story is never over until it’s over, and—I can’t stress this enough—Swift is 26 years old; her story is nowhere near over.

A few points to be made

1) Taylor wouldn’t cheat
2) It’s extremely possible that Taylor and Calvin broke up before we were told, so it may not be as sudden as we think.
3) Taylor is a level-headed human, and she’s mature. Don’t make posts about how awful she is, we’ve been following her for 10 years.
4) She’s probably really happy, she looked like she was in the photos. Please respect that.
5) This is only getting so much press because she’s Taylor Swift. Remember, she’s 26, and a person.

Taylor Swift Is 26 and a Free Woman Yet She's Still Having Trouble Shaking Off That Serial-Dater Rap

Surely we can all agree on one thing:Taylor Swift is a free woman.

She’s 26, the face of a one-woman musical empire and rather stunning to boot.

But thanks to the songs that have fueled her rise to the top of the pop-star pyramid, it’s become impossible to separate Swift, the woman, from Swift, the starring character in her own long-running, ingeniously packaged relationship drama.

Hence the uproar every time she has broken up with a guy—an uproar that gets even louder when she, gasp, tries again!

There are of course no rules when it comes to “proper” windows of mourning after one relationship ends and before another begins. When we break up, our first instinct is usually to swear off dating for awhile, but hey, if someone wants to come along and sweep us off our feet…

Shrug, we’re open to that, too.

We can’t picture Swift—assuming for the sake of argument that, despite her living in a fish bowl, her emotions work the same way as a lot of the rest of ours do—operating all that differently.

But seemingly only a few weeks removed from the end of her approximately 15-month relationship with Calvin Harris, cue the excitement to figure out just when she intended to get all cuddly with Tom Hiddleston on a rock in Rhode Island. Which she did, the evidence of which was first published yesterday by The Sun, the London tabloid seemingly going to bat for Harris (who’s Scottish) in tone and tenor.

First of all, let’s go out on a limb and call Taylor what she is: lucky.

Not because Hiddleston’s so great (though don’t you just love him?!) but because surely she felt bad—no matter who ended it, breakups can be rough on the dumper and the dumpee—and lo and behold, she met someone she liked enough to share a snuggle with.

The fact that she danced with Hiddleston at the Met Gala on the evening of May 4, a few short weeks before she and Harris had broken up, added some fuel to the fire of what happened and when. But while we know Harris and Swift fizzled, we don’t know exactly when the fizzling began and, despite certain obvious explanations (long distance, etc.) the ebb and flow of feelings is reliably inexplicable.

And though the photos of her and Hiddleston are certainly romantic-looking, they don’t mean Swift has hopped right into another relationship.

“Taylor is hanging out with her friends and keeping busy. She wants to be single for a while and have a relaxing summer,” an insider told us earlier this week—and the two aren’t mutually exclusive.

If Swift were most other people, there’d be a mass round of applause for how wonderful it is that she’s found someone to dry her tears. And if she were Leonardo DiCaprio or George Clooney circa 2012, everyone would have a good smirk and make memes. But unfortunately Swift got saddled with the ever-searching serial monogamist tag years ago and labels can be hard to shake.

Ask Jennifer Aniston, who despite her huge career and other boyfriends carried the stigma of a scorned woman around for years, her marriage to Justin Theroux last summer just barely releasing her from her former life.

Of course, it’s not as if Swift hasn’t been at least somewhat complicit in her relationships-as-performance-art persona—Taylor’s as shrewd a businesswoman as they come, and like Beyoncé, her lemonade has made her a millionaire.

But she’s still had to multitask like a champ, both learning the hard lessons that are part of growing up while in the spotlight, and simultaneously having to shake off whatever pain and anger she might be feeling so that she can put on a great show night after night and then sound measured and rational when she fields the next round of questions about her love life.

And underneath it all, she’d probably just like to eventually find a guy who she’s into, who’s nice to her and, most importantly, wants what she does.

In the meantime, however, Taylor Swift’s relationship history—or future—shouldn’t be used to define her as a person. Her personality factors into what goes on behind closed doors, but meeting someone, trying it out, breaking up and then dating someone else isn’t a character trait.

Along the way she’ll make mistakes. The men will make mistakes. She might not even be done talking to one when she starts talking to another, making her part of the 99 percent for a change.

Like everybody else, she’s just trying to figure it out.
