I think it’s important to recognize that they first made Pietro and Wanda Nazis. In Age Of Ultron, they made Wanda and Pietro willingly work and subject themselves to experimentation by Nazis (Hydra). They are originally Jewish characters as well as Rromani, which is a HUGE IMPACTOR on their experiences growing up.
Then they erased Wanda’s Jewishness entirely by putting a cross in her room in CA:CW.
Yes it is important to recognize the wrongness of making Captain America a Nazi. And it’s way, WAY more important to recognize the absolutely TERRIBLE and UGLY way they’re making Magneto work with Nazis.
But it’s also important to realize that by doing what they did to Pietro and Wanda, that kicked off what’s happening.
Replaying Origins and doing the Orzammar section got me thinking. Is this a test of a sort? While Bhelen is a terrible person and obvious at least in part he’s in it for the power, but he uplifts the casteless and works to get rid of the frankly evil parts of Dwarven culture. I like to think the writers were trying to test us to see if we’d get so distracted by how kinder Harrowmont is to realize that he’s actually conservative who cares more about tradition than anything else.
AND FINALLY DONE! The pose took the longest because I didn’t know which one would be juuust right, but here’s akumatized Ladybug and Chat Noir. It’s my favorite AU type before kwami swapping though the story behind this version of them being akumatized is dark… and on my sideblog.
They’re a cruel couple, but love each other intensely. They don’t… attack just anyone, and who they do, you definitely don’t want to become their target.
ANYWAY, with this week over, I will… get ready to open commissions in April. SO if you want one, check back on the first of April! No fooling! Later followers!
On a slightly sciency-related note I have never quite understood religious resistance to science, especially in the Christianity umbrella.
If you say God created everything, would our ability to use science to decipher the world around us another tool He gave us to explore the world He’s put us in? What good is the beauty of God’s creation if we do not comprehend it enough to appreciate it? Why favor sticking to the status quo when we can go out there and understand things?
The human scope of understanding is such a small, narrow thing. Time is infinite, and we’ve only got so many lifetimes. So we break the wonders into strings of numbers and equations so we can process them better. It’s the same way an artist sees shapes in a drawing.
Haven’t anyone seen scientists talking about their trade? How their eyes lit up and they talk super fast, super excitedly when they approach the best part of their research? Science isn’t just hard facts, it’s a logical, step-by-step way to understand the world, just as imagination is growing meaning from metaphors. It’s no better and no worse, just different, and you can use both. Whatever helps you comprehend the world around you, and keep comprehending it more clearly.
I have two copies of DA: I. One on PS3, and the other on PS4. I’ve had the PS3 version since it came out. It’s embarrassingly amazing how much better the graphics are in the PS4 version. Example: I didn’t know that there were trees next to Cassandra when she’s standing in the Skyhold area next to the Tavern.
