in the pledge

Hello everyone.  As some of you know, I’m working on some storyboards for BANGARANG, the Rufio prequel.  When the campaign first came out, we didn’t have much of my art outside of concept art, but now we’ve updated the page with some of the boards I’ve done.  I can’t share most of the boards I’ve done, but the director has chosen these two to share on social media so far.

So if you’d like to help us reach that $200,000 stretch goal, feel free to make a pledge or share the project around to most of your friends!

The Chronological Superman 1961:

Superboy pledges his service to Pres.Franklin Delano Roosevelt in Superboy vol.1 No.144.

Keep in mind that FDR was the actual president when Superman debuted in Action Comics vol.1 No.1 in 1938. Now, enough time has passed that the Man of Steel’s teenage career began while Roosevelt held office. Not that you couldn’t do this math yourself, but a contemporary Superboy story set at least 16 years in the past would mean the Boy of Steel would be volunteering himself to George W.Bush or Bill Clinton …

Exhibit A—Oresha Hoh Var Fraternity Ring

Owned by one Rocky Hart, together along with commendations from the Frat for keeping it active during a period of slow pledging.

Exhibit B—Granted Maternity Leave Request

For one Goldie Hart, from a marketing firm called MacGuffin Industries.

Exhibit C—A strand of purple hair

Found in an upstairs bedroom at the Oresha Hoh Var House.

Exhibit D—Phone log from 2 Land Road

Detailing planned romantic rendezvous with one Julian Cooke.  Property of SCIA.

Exhibit E—Birth Certificate

Beaton Hart, female.  Mother, Goldie.  Father, Rocky.

Your honor—an objection.  It’s difficult to stay faithful in a long-distance relationship.

Reblog if you are willing to roleplay with an ESL student

For those of you who don’t know, ESL stands for English as a Second Language.

It has happened to me more than one time to be discriminated because my sentence structure is a bit different and since people care so much for being literate, I would like to know those who don’t really discriminate, as long as it is understandable and it doesn’t show horrible mistakes that makes it hard to read.

Native America high schooler’s grade was lowered because she sat through the Pledge of Allegaince.

Leilani Thomas has been exercising her First Amendment right not to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance since she was in second grade, KXTV reported Friday. But this year, a high school teacher took it upon herself to punish Thomas for sitting out the morning ritual by docking Thomas’ participation grade.

Thomas, who is Native American and a student at Lower Lake High School in Lower Lake, California, told local television station KPIX

She protests the pledge because, “of the history that happened here. On my land. My people’s land.”

Thomas reportedly took a recording of her teacher defending the punishment in which the teacher can be heard demeaning Thomas’ culture and ancestors.

So after the recent results of the election, I decided to exercise my right as an American to openly disagree who is our impending leader. I painted my face and wore red as a nod to the Make America Psycho Again. It may not do much, or anything at all, but I’ve caught the attention of several people at school. From this point, I’m going to continue painting my face until I run out and I refuse to stand for the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem. I may be black, born female, and queer, but now’s not the time to back down. Things have already begun going awry, people are scared, and I can’t just sit down and pretend this is fine. Please don’t feel like you’re hopeless and that you can’t make a difference. I got made fun of by countless people, but I also caught the attention of my digital arts teacher, who recognized this as a form of protest and took a picture of me. A small gesture, but if one person acts and several turn heads, who knows what several people can do.
