in search of paradise

Underrated Anime

Here are some titles that I feel deserve more love than they get!

From the New World - This anime was a masterpiece. Paced and well-planned, the show entangles you without you knowing until its too late. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to sink their teeth into a psychological fantasy that leave you with a strange mix of innocence and uneasiness.

Princess Jellyfish - A love story between a confident and fashionable crossdresser and an awkward, introverted girl. This is golden!

Welcome to the NKH! - Just the right amount of humor and psychological torment to keep every viewer enthralled. Is it a conspiracy?

Monster - What happens when a promising young doctor saves the life of a boy who was fated to die? A gripping thriller of justice and revenge!

Bokurano - A group of kids become the chosen pilots of a robot faced with saving the planet, a beyond awesome experience for them!…or so they think. They sign the binding contract and now each one of them must pay the price.

Wolf’s Rain - As legend has it, wolves will open the gate to Paradise in a dying world. This anime is a gripping, heart-wrenching tale of an unlikely pack of wolves searching for promised Paradise. Out of any of the shows on this list, Wolf’s Rain is worth watching. It is a legend it its own right.

Samurai Champloo - THE MUSIC. The music alone should be enough to draw you into this epic tale, but in case you need more persuasion, know that this show revolves around the two most badass fighters in town and their quest to help a girl they are indebted to find the samurai who smells of sunflowers. Ugh its so gooooood.

Mawaru Penguindrum - Weird and comical sum up this anime pretty nicely! It is a fun watch that you will find hard not to binge on once you start. Stay with me people: An alien penguin-hat grants a girl her life back in exchange for her two bothers’ help in acquiring the Penguindrum (whatever that is). I know what you are thinking, but please give it a try! You won’t regret it!

Eden of the East - “This nation faces a great crisis. One among you must save us. I cannot tell you how. I cannot tell you why. Should you fail, you will be eliminated.” 12 people have been chosen to save Japan, each given a phone with 10 billion yen on it and the simple instruction to save Japan–their lives are on the line. Despite this harsh description, the actual show also has an element of humor, so don’t be afraid to jump in! Noblesse Oblige.

Steins;Gate - Many of you have probably heard of this and thought that is was too stuffy or complicated for you, but I’m here to tell you that you will watch this show, make it to episode 22, and then thank me. YOUR WELCOME. Sure, this show takes some getting into, but once you delve deeper into the plot, you will find things falling into place. It has unconventional characters, a really great romance stuck in there, and a pretty refreshing, sciency tone. Enjoy.

Nodame Cantabile - To think that so many people have not seen this gift to humanity sickens me. Nodame is most assuredly the most interesting and unique anime character to walk this little anime earth. There is music! There is romance! There is SO MUCH HUMOR! There are 3 seasons!!! You can’t really pass up this opportunity to watch a legend.

Hunter X Hunter (2011) - This is the only long-running shonen series I will ever watch. This is a series for those of you who like action but not fight scenes that span multiple episodes and like actual character development and good animation consistently throughout the show (I swear its perfect the whole way). Gon wants to be a Hunter just like his father and he meets Killua, the boy-assassin (an resident cinnamon roll), Kurapika, the last of the Kurta clan hell-bent on revenge, and Leorio, a guy who wants to strike it rich. Follow these four on a journey you won’t forget!

I want to tell you about a garden, the great hunting park of an Assyrian king… Fragrant groves of cedar and box, oak and fruit trees, bowers of jasmine and illuru, iris and anemone, camomile and daisy, crocus, poppy, and lily, both wild and cultivated, on the banks of the Tigris. Blossoms swaying in a hot sunlight of scent, great hazy banks of shimmering perfume, a moving wall of scent…

The earliest gardens were walled not to keep out the animals, but to keep them in, so they could not be hunted by strangers. The Persian word for these walled sanctuaries was pairidaeza, the Hebrew, pardes, in the Greek, paradeisos…

The origin of the word ‘paradise’ is simply ‘enclosure’.

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, experience the story of Rex and his new friend, Pyra, and a mysterious being known as a Blade who grants him tremendous power. Together, search for Pyra’s long lost home Elysium, the ultimate paradise for all of humanity.

I feel like his victim

I feel like his victim
It’s so quiet and empty as he left
Let those who can oppress themselves oppress themselves
I feel like his victim and he seems my weapon of choice
If I pass a mirror I turn in the opposite direction
I do not want to look at my face
My reflection does not want to be seen
Creeping along the walls
Each minute is a room in hell
And I’m diving, diving, holding my head up
Laughing, bluffing, ashamed, ashamed,
Like a child trying to behave.
Like an angel insane.
You people never feel the pain
Of blue eyed cherubim in a desperate hell.
My soul is searching for a paradise
Tomorrow I’ll be crucified
Tomorrow I’ll cry
Tomorrow I’ll surrender to death

“They say there’s no such place as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the earth, there’s nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it’s always the same road. It just goes on and on. But, in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it?”

This might be a strange top 5, but how about a top 5 favorite anime main characters?

Ok this top 5 got me really shook because I suddenly realized that my faves are never the main characters of the shows I like the most. So this was a bit harder to do than I thought…

1. Hinata Shouyou. (Haikyuu!!). He’s my sunshine, my firstborn son, words are not enough to explain how precious he is to me. Literally, no one makes my heart explode with pride and happiness like Hinata does. Hinata started with a lot of self doubt, crippled by his own lack of skills and height, and had to work a lot to find his own place on the team, becoming a player of his own, and not just Kageyama’s weapon. He tried and failed so many times, and probably he still has a very long way to go…but I’m sure he’s on the good one :’)

2. Atsushi Nakajima (Bungou Stray Dogs). I’m so glad he’s the protagonist of this story. He suffered so much, he’s emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged, but still he managed to keep his heart of gold safe and beating. My heart broke into so many pieces when I read the extent of the abuses he suffered in the orphanage. Honestly, what the actual fuck. He’s not perfect, and that’s alright because he’s growing and becoming stronger each day. He just doesn’t give up on people, no matter which side they are in, and the world truly needs people like him. (also his reaction faces give me life)

3. Yuichiro Hyakuya (Owari No Seraph). YUU-CHAN!! He’s the most recent acquisition in my sons’ portfolio. He’s hot tempered and sometimes completely irrational, but just because he always chooses to follow his heart instead of his brain. He’s the most fearless, selfless and loyal character I’ve ever met. He doesn’t do a thing for himself, his every action is to protect his friends, his family, and love of his life.

4. Yukihira Soma (Shokugeki No Souma). Yuu and Soma are very very very much alike and, generally speaking, he’s the embodiment of all my favorite characters’ traits. He’s energetic, optimistic, always ready to help others and pretty much fearless. He always reminds me of a tiger (sorry Jinko) because of how fierce and confident he is. It looks like nobody could drag him down but, in truth, he’s only very good at hiding his fears from the others, because he knows there are people whose strength depends on his smile. He’s constantly seeking improvement and demands the absolute best from himself. He’s truly a good bean, no wonder everyone is a little bit in love with him.

5. Kiba (Wolf’s Rain). After two tigers, here comes the big white wolf. Beautiful and tragic, he’s the character that said one of my all time favorite anime quotes: “They say there’s no such place as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the Earth, there’s nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it’s always the same road. It just goes on and on. But, in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me…It says, “Search for Paradise.”. This is the very essence of his character.  Just do me a favor, watch this anime, you won’t regret it.

- bonus: an honorable mention goes to my princess, Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon. I grew up with her and she taught about hope, about pain, about sacrifice, about friendship, about love. She’s not my favorite character of the series, but still she probably taught me more than all of the characters on this list combined.

Ask me my top 5 things!

I could dream for a hundred years

God blessed child, soul decrepit in the dark
I could dream for a hundred years
Strike with love and cure my heart
If shame and ego are not forgotten lightly
We shall succumb as the years drag by
I fall on my knees asking God for rescue
But nothing is the holly answer
Love is the best present you can find
In vain I search my soul for a ghost paradise
Our plights are at last smothering
Swimming in hell with your excuses
Lost innocence is the best present we can find
We wait in the darkness of our own cinematic device
Intriguing death is the best present you can find
We smoke opium in the darkness of our own
Cinematic device and wait for mermaids
To crack our bones clean of sinful pride

You have to read this and reflect. When Shaykh Adib al-Kallas would speak about his wife, he would become extremely teary and very emotional. He would say, “I will never forget her loyalty and goodness. I will never forget her kindness and the way she treated me with honour. I will never forget how she stayed by my side and stuck by me even though I suffered with such high levels of poverty and we lived in such hard conditions!”

The shaykh lived in a small simple apartment. At times, the lights would go out, and they’d have to use torches and candles. They could not even afford to buy meat, yet a moment would not pass except she would show him how much she loved him. When they had no money, she never complained. Instead, she would tell her parents that he was the best husband in the world. When they struggled, she gave him ease. When he was in pain, she gave him cure. He had thousands of students, but before anyone ever knew him, she stood by him. Before creation chased him, she was praying to the Creator for him. When they got old and the years passed, she became ill and he would emotionally say, “Adib prays that he will be with you in paradise!” Search for a good partner and wallahi, you will experiences joys of paradise whilst on earth.

Antiope x reader, with a mother/daughter relationship with Diana

Anonymous said:

(sorry if this request is long but I can’t get it out of my head) Would you mind writing something where reader is a daughter of Ares and befriends Diana and helps her kill him, and Diana convinces her to come with her to Themyscria, and reader falls for Antiope, but tries to suppress it because she doesn’t feel worthy because of her heritage and is afraid of turning into her father?

(A/N: I really hope this is close to what you wanted, Anon :). And it’s not too long lol! This gives me more insight to the plot of the imagine so it makes it easier for me to write! Thank you!)

(Starting at the party that Diana and Steve went to before she went and found Ares. The party is where she’ll meet you and befriend you.)

“I really need a drink. Being around theses imbeciles is making me sick.” I muttered as I walked around the crowd and to the bar sitting just to the side. I was only here for the food, but seeing the man that my father corrupted to create war made me lose my appetite. “Gimme some vanilla-flavored liquor, please.” I asked the bartender.

As he was making my drink, I couldn’t help but notice a strong presence in the room. I looked to my right and saw the one and only Diana Prince, princess of Themyscira. I had nothing against her, but I feared that if I told her who I truly was, she would try to kill me or worse; my father would.

But what the hell, right? I thought it was worth the risk, as long as she would let me help her defeat my father. I walked up to her and I could tell that she knew I wasn’t a regular human. I gently pulled her into me and we started dancing, which took the attention off of her.

She narrowed her eyebrows in confusion. “I am sorry, but have we met before?”

“No,” I answered. “But I have known you since you were born. Well, from afar anyway. I am the daughter of Ares.”

She glared at me. “Your father must die. He does not deserve to live for causing so much death! That is why I am here. Where is he?”

“I don’t know, Diana. I was simply here for the food, but now that you’re here, I want to join you. You will need some help with finding him.” I said with a calm grin.

“How am I supposed to trust the daughter of Ares?” She asked.

I shrugged and shook my head. “I have always wanted out of this life, but my father never made it easy for me and he murdered my mother for sport. He isn’t the loving father I once knew and he’s killing millions of innocent people for no good reason. I didn’t have a way out until now, so please, let me join your cause and I promise you that I’ll be worth your while.”

Diana thought about it for a moment and then offered me a small smile.

“Okay.”

(Time skip to the end of the battle)

Diana actually defeated my father! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I mean, sure I helped her a lot by weakening Ares to a pulp, but she struck him with a lightning bolt. I haven’t seen that power since Zeus created Man and the Amazons.

Now she and I were walking through a bunch of guys that were forced to fight in this war. I could see the fear and confusion in their eyes as if everything was just a dream. I looked over at Diana, who had tears in her eyes. I could tell she was holding on to the little control she had over her emotions.

I stopped her and pulled her into a bear hug, which she fully reciprocated. She started sobbing into my shirt while saying she could have saved him. I immediately knew that she meant Steve. I kissed her forehead and rubbed her back, whispering sweet nothings in her ear which eventually calmed her down.

I pulled away a little bit and took her delicate face into my hands. “It wasn’t your fault, Wonder Woman. He did what he had to do to protect us and the world from destruction. He will come back to you in another form sooner or later, I can promise you that, my little one.”

She smiled through her tears and hugged me again before we left the battle scene.

(A few days later when the war is declared as won)

After Diana paid her respects to Steve, I took her to a restaurant to cheer her up and see where we were going to go from there. And to eat food.

As we sat down and waited for our food, Diana smirked at me. I tilted my head, confused as to why she was giving me that look.

“What?” I asked. “Is there something on my face?”

She laughed, making me smile. “No, I was just thinking about something.”

“Like…?”

She sighed. “You were saying something about wanting to start a new life away from here. I think I can help you with that because you chose to fight by my side instead of side with Ares. I want to pay my thanks to you by helping you start a new life in Themyscira.”

My eyes widened. “Diana, my little one, you don’t have to repay me! I’m flattered that you’re offering me a place at your home, but I do not think Hippolyta will accept me simply because I’m a child of Ares.”

She shook her head in disagreement. “My mother will listen to me. Besides, she will be surprised at seeing my return, since I am technically not allowed to.”

“If you’re not allowed to return, then how will we find the island?” I asked.

Diana smirked again. “Ever heard of breaking the rules? Plus, my mother will let it slide for us! I will tell her your story and about you helping me with the war. Meanwhile, you will probably be forced to stay in the dungeon until I can convince her that you mean no ill will.”

I groaned. “A dungeon? I may be the daughter of Ares, but I am scared of spiders.”

“Would you rather spend your life in misery, or spend it in paradise?” She raised her eyebrows, silently challenging me.

I rolled my eyes. “I would rather spend it in paradise. You happy now?”

“Yes, actually, I am.”

***

A few days after that conversation, we eventually set sail in search of Paradise Island, which surprisingly didn’t take long. Five hours after we left the mainland, we passed through the barrier of Themyscira and soon enough, we were on the beach.

“It’s more beautiful than I imagined.” I gasped, looking up at the buildings in the mountains. However, my delight was cut short when an army of Amazons came to us. I was kind of amazed at seeing them in person. Especially their general.

“Antiope…?” Diana was at a loss for words as her aunt got off of her horse and raced to hug Diana. As they hugged, queen Hippolyta showed up with her guards and was surprised to see her daughter.

“My beloved daughter.” She got off her horse and also ran up and hugged Diana. I was smiling at their reunion, but then when they stopped hugging, they noticed me standing a few feet away from them.

“Who are you?” Menalippe, Diana’s other aunt, asked me. I gulped.

“I am, uh, Y/N Y/L/N. I’m the daughter of Ares, but -” Hippolyta cut me off and drew her sword along with her warriors.

“You are not welcome here.” She growled. But before she could do anything, Diana came and stood by my side.

“Mother, she fought with me and we killed Ares together. She made sure that I made it out alive and for her services, I offered her a place here. A new beginning.”

But Hippolyta shook her head. “No child of Ares is allowed here, Diana. It is not my rule.”

Antiope stepped up, eyeing me carefully. “You know, with all due respect sister, we should give her a chance. She never sided with Ares when he waged war on us or humanity in the past. If we have her on our side, she can be our protector from him when he returns.”

Between looking at us and Antiope, Hippolyta finally nodded and agreed. “But if you turn on us, we will not hesitate to kill you. Understand?” I quickly nodded. “Good. Antiope will show you to the room that you will be living in. Do not make me regret my decision to let you stay.”

“You won’t, my queen.” I bowed in respect and then watched as she and Diana rode off toward the castle. I turned to the general, who was on her horse, and accepted the hand that she offered me. She pulled me up behind her and we took off toward the capital.

***

(Time skip ahead five months when Y/N’s comfortable and settled. This is when she admits to herself that she has feelings for Antiope.)

Don’t panic. It’s just a crush, that’s all. A very big crush that makes you want to cry when you think about not having your crush. No biggie.

I whined when I couldn’t lay my thoughts to rest. I wanted to sleep, but I couldn’t because I had so much on my mind. I was falling in love with the general and it was a bad thing. I was the daughter of Ares, god of war and death. I did not deserve the special present called “love”. I just didn’t. Just because I never sided with Ares in the past, doesn’t mean I completely did the right thing.

I could’ve helped the Amazons, but I chose to just let them fight on their own because I somehow enjoyed it. What if I turned into my father when the next war hits? Since he is dead, wouldn’t I have to take his place?

I groaned and sat up in my bed, not noticing the hot tears racing down my cheeks. I will never find the true thing that I want. I will never find love because rage was put into my heart.

I got up from my bed and quietly slipped out of my little cozy hut, not daring to stir my dog because once he was up, he would start barking in excitement and I would rather not draw attention to myself. I went outside and walked toward the bridge that overlooked a beautiful waterfall. I stood with my forearms on the ledge and gazed out over the island. It was all I could ever ask for, but what if I ended up destroying it one day?

I was so caught up in my thoughts that when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I quickly moved away and turned around, startled. Although, relief washed over me when I saw that it was only Antiope.

She smirked playfully. “Nice instincts, Y/N. You are getting better at trusting them.”

I chuckled and nodded in agreement. She and I had gotten pretty close, maybe a little bit more closer than friends would normally be, but I always pushed myself away from her. I didn’t deserve a woman as intelligent and courageous as her, not while I am a child of Ares. He caused her so much pain, and I did nothing to help when I could have.

Antiope saw through me when I gave her a smile and acted like everything was okay, even though it wasn’t. She gave me a look that was full of love and care, but I looked away. I don’t deserve her. She deserves so much better than a mere spawn of war.

“Y/N. Y/N, look at me.” Antiope demanded, but I shook my head as tears starting rolling down my cheeks for the second time that night. She gently held my face in her hands while I took a hold of her wrists. “You are not like your father. You’ve proven that to me and the others over these past five months. You are so much more than him.”

She wiped away my tears as I spoke with a broken tone and removed her hands from my face. “I do not deserve you, ‘Tiope. My father caused you and the other Amazons so much pain and I did nothing! Nothing! I do not deserve your love simply because I was born with a rage-filled heart! I could hurt you without even trying, Antiope. You just do not understand. You can’t possibly understand how much I care for you. If I were to hurt you, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.” I cried. I was in so much pain, but I knew it was nothing compared to the pain the Amazons had faced. It was nothing.

Antiope engulfed me in a hug and I tried to push her away, but she had a firm grip around me. Eventually I stopped trying to get out of her hold and just gave in to her.

“You have changed, my beloved Y/N. You’ve changed for the better and that is why I fell in love with you. Please, listen to me when I say that you are a good person. You are one of us now and I love you.” She pulled away a little bit and looked me in my eyes as she said this and grinned.

I couldn’t help but reciprocate her actions. “I fell in love with you when you hit me in the face with your shield during practice.” We both laughed at my confession and then she did something out of the blue.

She kissed me.

And I didn’t even hesitate to respond. We kissed for a few seconds before we pulled away and smiled at each other, not noticing queen Hippolyta, lieutenant Menalippe, and the rest of the Themyscirans smirking at us. At least, not until they started wolf-whistling and cheering, scaring the crap out of us both.

Diana appeared from the crowd and shouted “yes!” in excitement.

Hippolyta smiled in content. “You have finally found your soulmate, sister. I am proud.” She glared at me. “If you ever do anything to hurt her, Y/N, I will not hesitate to -”

“Excuse me for the interruption, Hippolyta,” Antiope held up a hand. “But I am sure that she gets the message. Although I highly doubt she will do anything to hurt me on purpose.”

I nodded to Hippolyta, understanding her protective nature. “Trust me, my queen, you have nothing to worry about from me.”

She smiled. “Then let us have a feast to honor Antiope and Y/N!” We all cheered and headed to the heart of the city, where we played games and ate food. I love food so much.

But I loved Antiope more, as cliche as it sounded.

(A/N: I really hope this was close to how you wanted it, Anon! If you have any more requests, ask me :)  The current requests should be up within the next few days! Enjoy!)

The death of a beautiful woman is the most gossiped topic in the world

bruised soul falls into a splendid tear.
pixies wings spreading to soiled victims
golden balloons in heaven’s tombstones.
heart is kind and heart is cruel.
in the beginning there were
just sensual dreams and love butterflies spinning,
in the heat of madness just
troubadours poems and blurring smog,
in the end just doomed solitude and ominous smoke.
somehow I still am addicted to you.
somehow after misleading misfortunes
I still am in love with you.
guilt in my head at last vanishing,
search for my crucified shadow in a paradise lost.
