Chapter 1

Chapter 2

Chapter 3

Pushing open the door to ‘Chloe’s Coffee’s’ I was hit by the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee and cinnamon.

Making my way over to the counter I spotted Chloe messing around with the coffee machine. She had mousey coloured hair that was tied back into a pony tail, although a few strands had come loose. She kept trying to tuck them behind her ear every few seconds, desperately trying to tame it, but to no avail, as they would never stay there for long. She was the owners’ daughter and the person this place was named after. She was seventeen too, so we were the same age.

“Oh hey, Nova. Did you want your usual?” she chirped after catching sight of me. The shop wasn’t that busy which I was grateful for. I just wanted to get my coffee and curl up in a booth at the back of the shop and work on some lyrics.

I paid and then thanked Chloe, before grabbing my extra milky latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top, and heading over to a booth at the back of the shop.

I placed my coffee on the table and slid into the red leather booth. I pulled my notebook and a pen out of my bag and begin thinking as I wrote down some lyrics, while simultaneously taking slow sips of my coffee.

After half an hour or so I got the sudden urge to look up.

Walking through the door to the coffee shop were the four Australian giants from earlier.

I watched them as they ordered their coffees and then looked around for a place to sit. The tanned one’s eyes scanned over my booth causing me to quickly drop my head and slide further into it, hoping he didn’t notice.

“Hey, you’re Nova, right?” shit, he’d noticed me.

Looking up, my grey eyes met with his dark brown ones. I nodded.

“Mind if we sit?” he asked, motioning to the seats across from me. Why the hell did they want to sit with me, they didn’t know me. I mean they seemed like nice guys apart from the blonde idiot who was standing at the back of his group, giving me the evils, but I hadn’t exactly made a great first impression.

Sighing, I gave him a small smile.

“Sure, go ahead.” What harm could it do.

Returning my smile, he slid into the booth with about as much ease as a person over 6ft could. He was followed by a guy who’s hair would put anyone else’s to shame.

The only way I could describe it would be to say that…Well, it looked like he had stolen a Nebula from out of space and stuck it on his head. There was some purple, some blue and even black. To say I was jealous would be an understatement. He was tall like the rest of the guys except his skin didn’t seem to have the sun kissed glow that the others did, instead he had a milky complexion, but he managed to pull the whole look off.

Sliding in next to him was the guy who I assumed was the eldest. He rocked a bandana around his head that kept his curly locks out of his face. He had slight stubble and he appeared to be the shortest but not by much.

Geez, what did they feed these guys?

I frowned when I realised that because they’d all sat across from me it meant that the only space left was next to me and the only person left standing was—

“Luke, are you going to sit down or what?” The guy in the bandana asked.

Luke eyed the space next to me, and for a second I thought he was going to make some nasty remark about having to sit next to me, but instead he sat down without a word.

As he sat down his leg grazed mine, causing me to tense and I immediately became aware of how close he was to me.

“So,” the guy in the bandana coughed, making me pull my eyes away from the Blonde god sitting next to me. “I’m Ashton, this is Michael” he said elbowing the galaxy haired guy next to him who gave me a cheesy grin “and this is Calum.” he motioned to the guy who had sat down first.

“I’d introduce you to Luke but apparently you two already met.” He chuckled.

“Yeah, if you count knocking me on my arse and calling me a bitch meeting.” I snorted.

“I’m Nova by the way.” I continued, sticking my hand out to shake theirs.

“Cool name.” The three said in unison which resulted in me letting out a small laugh.

“Don’t forget, we all just met again in the studio when I called you a dog as well.” Luke butted in with a smirk. I was going to wipe that smirk right off his face.

“Don’t be a dick, Luke.” Calum snapped, which seemed to rub Luke up the wrong way because he got up and stormed out of the coffee shop without so much as a word.

“What crawled up his arse?” I asked, staring after him before turning to look at the three boys opposite me.

Michael sighed and shrugged. “He just hasn’t been the same since his ex broke up with him, she really fucked with his head.”

So he was heartbroken? That makes two of us I guess, but that doesn’t give him the right to act like a dick. I didn’t voice that out loud though.

I spent the next couple of hours talking to the boys and they were actually pretty cool, they even got me more coffee. Their band was called Five Seconds of Summer and they’d just come off tour with One Direction and were now in the UK working on some stuff for their album.

“No offence but you don’t really look like the kind of guys that would want to hang around with One Direction, let alone open for them on tour.” I pointed out.

“They’re actually pretty cool guys and they gave us an amazing opportunity to get people to hear our music.” You could hear the respect he had for the boys in Ashton’s voice.

I held my hands up in mock surrender. “I’m not judging, I think it’s cool that you toured with them, it must’ve been amazing.” I sighed, resting my chin on my hand, wondering what it must have been like touring and playing your own music to people.

“Hey, I’m sure you’ll get your big break soon. I heard you playing and you’re good. Hell, you’re better than all of us put together. Although your lead singer, what’s her name, Cassidy?” Calum paused, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. “She’s uh, definitely one of a kind…” he finished.

I rolled my eyes and laughed. “You don’t know the half of it.”

Pulling my phone out I checked the time. 6:49pm.

“Well, I’ve loved talking to you guys but I’ve gotta head home.” I yawned, despite the amount of coffee I’d had. The low lighting at the back of the shop probably didn’t help.

“We’d better go going to, but hey, how about we swap numbers and maybe we can hang out again sometime?” Ashton asked, giving me a toothy smile, causing dimples to form on his cheeks.

They wanted to hang out with me again? Well, who was I to say no to these beautiful Australians?

They all gave me their numbers and I text them so that they would have mine in their phone.

“I’ll see you guys later then.” I said as I turned to head for the door.

“What, no hugs?” Calum called from behind me.

I looked over my shoulder and they all stood there with their bottom lips jutting out. I swear to God, they were such losers.

“Fine.” I sighed as if it was annoyance to have to hug three hot guys.

They all had to bend down considering I was only 5’3, it was actually pretty hilarious. I’m not going to lie, I sniffed all of them and my God, did they smell good.

Shit, I’m glad I didn’t say that out loud.

Pulling away from Michael who was last in line for hugs I picked up my bag and gave them all one final goodbye before shouting a goodbye to Chloe who was in the staff room and headed for the door.

What a day.

HEY, so it’s finally out, what did you guys think, did you like it, do you want more? Be sure to let me and Alex ( hemmingshurts ) know what you think of it because it means the world to us hearing that you guys like it :)

Jongtae Pets

Jonghyun shuffles into the doctor’s office, feeling large and awkward and very out of place. He’s really far too old to be still seeing his pediatrician, except that since he’s still in high school, his mother doesn’t see any point in having him switch doctors just yet.

Jonghyun supposes he sees the point in this. It still doesn’t make wandering into a waiting room full of small children and screaming babies feel any less awkward, however.

This time, he spots another teenager sitting crammed up in a chair at the far end of the room, scrolling intensely through his phone in an obvious attempt to pretend like he isn’t there. Jonghyun hastily fills out his paperwork and heads over to sit next to the kid, hoping that maybe they can bond over this intensely awkward situation together.

“Hi!” says Jonghyun brightly, flopping down in the seat next to the kid. “How are you? I’m Jonghyun.”

A pair of disinterested eyes lifts to meet his.

“I’m Taemin,” the kid says, in very clear tones of please don’t talk to me.
