in live we trust

So lemme tell y'all a story:

I was in 10th grade honours English. I loved my teacher - she was super cool, but didn’t take any shit from anyone. During our time with her, she was going through a rough divorce.

Our teacher had developed this system: if we were good, she’d add “time” to our class, with each “time” being worth ten seconds, so we had to work hard. That meaning, she would give us a free period after we’d built up the exact time that a period extended to be. It was an earned privilege, and we always did our best to try and obtain it. Hell, playing puzzle games and reading was way more fun than a test or worksheet!

We were reading Animal Farm, a book my mom had given to me when I was ten bc she knew I loved to read and enjoyed anything that was thought-provoking. I’d read it then, and again later in my parochial middle school. Living in a big city, public schools aren’t well-funded, and I was lucky to have all my close family scrape together cash for a good education. Needless to say, I was rather familiar with the book.

Now back to the system! Our teacher had implemented a rule that every morning (she taught my first period class) we wood stand up and recite the commandments of animalism. We’d all try our hardest to do it perfectly, lest “time” be taken off our class. But one morning, she was… cold.

My classmates who’d recited before me were all told to sit down and stop reciting, because they were “wrong.” Knowing that, I was confused, as was everyone else. Yet, we all kept trying the same thing. She let the first few people finish. Then, she let people get partially through before she’d utter, “wrong” or something of the sort and deduct our hard-earned time.

It finally got to me; it was my turn. I stood up and started, and was immediately shut down by her. I was frustrated, to say the least. I replied after a second and told her that I was, indeed, right. She muttered for me to sit down. I refused, and by now she’d taken off twenty seconds. Everyone groaned, but I continued to disobey. Eventually, my classmates started telling me to just stop and it turned into yelling at me once I’d lost our hard-earned twenty minutes (meaning we had been halfway to a free period) as I continued to argue. Once we were in the negatives, people were literally yelling obscenities at me. They even yelled at her, blaming her divorce and period. Gross behaivour, mind you.

I didn’t stop.

The teacher said that she was going to call security and have me removed. I replied that it was a-okay with me to do so. I promptly walk out of the room and she followed up by telling me to wait in the hallway. I’d intended to walk to the office myself, but obliged figuring it was no matter to me.

I was in the hallway for about a minute before she rushed out and gently grabbed me by the shoulders. I was rightly confused. She gasped, and stammered out that she had never imagined it would happen. Why was she suddenly not being so ruthless? Why was she flabbergasted? Well, apparently what she’d “wanted” was for us to all fail. That it was a lesson, and she’d have given back the “time” she had removed. It was all about “knowing” what was coming, and how fascism meant that the rules could change at any time, without your knowledge and consent, but you could still be punished for it. She told me that she’d called security, and told them if they saw me in the hall during that call, to excuse me. Nobody had done that before. Apparently, throughout her decades of teaching, not one student had done that. They had all caved and sat down eventually.

You can be that person. In something that matters to us all. It’s not fun, but when has fighting for what’s right ever been easy?

They unfairly evicted a building full of black people on my mom’s black, only to fill it with hipsters to who put “black lives matter” signs in their windows.
This is why we don’t trust you fuckers.
They’ll destroy a whole community, then turn up to the protests that break out because of it . All like “I’m not like those other wannabe artists, I just moved here for the extremely high, yet personally affordable for me,rent!”

the foxhole court aesthetics (4/?) » nicky hemmick

“It’s about family. Not necessarily the one we were born with, but the one we choose. This one. The people we trust to be part of our lives. The people we care about.”

nicky hemmick masterlist (fave moments/most heart wrenching for me bolded)
  • Nicholas Hemmick was the only one who looked genuinely happy to see Neil, and he stepped up to the curb at Neil’s approach.
  • “If you take  German as your elective here, just let me know and  I’ll tutor you. I’m good with my tongue.”
  • “That’s not okay.” Neil said, pointing at the door. “That’s nothing.” Nicky said. Neil caught his arm as Nicky passed and hauled him to a stop. “Don’t let him get away with things like that.” Nicky considered him for a moment, his smile fading into something small and tired.
  • He smiled when he saw Neil. “Hey stranger,”  Nicky said. “What did you think of Matt?” “He seems fine,” Neil said, not slowing on his way by. “He is fine,” Nicky called after him with a laugh.
  • “I’m not willing to give up on them yet. I want to fix this.”
  • Surprisingly, it was Nicky who found the strength to cross the room toward her. He crouched in front of her, moving slow like he thought she’d run off if he startled her, and gazed up into her face. “Hey,” Nicky said, soft and nice like the two of them hadn’t spent all summer cutting each other down on the court. “Is there anything we can do?”
  • Neil expected him to fall, but Nicky slung an arm around Andrew’s shoulders and yanked Andrew close to him. It let him take some of Andrew’s weight without it being too obvious what he was doing. Andrew looked ready to say something about the unasked-for help, but Nicky didn’t give him a chance to argue. He pumped his fist and whooped. “That was awesome! We are going to own this season!”
  • “Kid, you’re killing me,” Nicky said. “Why do you always get that deer-in-headlights look when someone does something nice for you?”
  • “I can’t.” It was too ragged and too honest, but Neil couldn’t help it. If he didn’t get rid of that phone he was going to be sick. “Nicky, I-” “Okay, okay,” Nicky said, taking Neil’s hand in both of his. “We’ll figure it out.”
  • “You’re family, so i can tell you”
  • “I thought I could show Aaron and Andrew how to be brothers again. And I’m not giving up.”
  • “I thought God abandoned me; sometimes I thought I failed Him. Halfway through my junior year I started thinking about suicide.”
  • “Erik Klose,” Nicky said, sounding it out like he was saying it for the first time. “He taught me to believe in myself. He showed me how to balance my faith and my sexuality, and he made me okay again. I know it sounds dramatic, but he saved my life.”
  • It could have been the most awkward dinner in the world if not for Nicky. Nicky hated how isolated the twins were and was desperate to make friends with the rest of the team. It was as if he’d developed a sudden allergy to silence. Any time the conversation started to slow he threw out another topic to salvage it.
  • Nicky cradled Andrew’s face in his hands.
  • Nicky trudged across the room and sank into one of the empty chairs. He dropped his phone on the table and buried his face in his hands. Abby slid into the seat beside him and wound an arm around his shoulders.  Nicky leaned against her but said nothing else.
  • Nicky caught hold of Matt’s wrist instead. “Thank you,” Nicky said, quiet but fervent. “I don’t know why you did it, but–thanks.”
  • Nicky reached out and scrubbed a gloved hand through Neil’s hair. “You are going to be the absolute death of me,” Nicky said. “Yeah, kid. We’re friends. You’re stuck with us, like it or not.”
  • “It’s not really about the food. It’s about family. Not necessarily the one we were born with, but the one we chose. This one,” Nicky emphasized, gesturing between them. “The people we trust to be part of our lives. The people we care about.”
  • Nicky, on the other hand, looked absolutely crushed as he took in Neil’s wrecked appearance. He reached out as soon as Neil was close enough and wrapped his hand around the back of Neil’s head. Nicky was tense as stone but the long breath he let out was shaky. “Oh, Neil,” he said in a choked voice.
  • He could hear pain in his voice, thick enough to slur his words. Nicky looked stricken with guilt. “I can’t yet.” “I’m sorry,” Nicky said. “I didn’t–I wasn’t thinking. Here, here. Let me. I’ve got it.”
  • Nicky was too afraid to go after Andrew, so he slowly dropped to his knees and slid a hand across the asphalt. He curled his fingers around Allison’s and gave her hand a tight squeeze.
  • Nicky blew them a kiss when he was handed his red card.
  • “We’re such hot shit sometimes!”
  • Nicky was a disconsolate mess near the window
  • “A dashboard lighter.” He winced at the awful sound Nicky made.
  • “You can’t have him,” Nicky said. “He belongs with us.”
  • “Neil or Nathaniel or whoever,” Nicky said. “He’s ours, and we’re not letting him go. You want us to vote on it or something? Be you it’ll be unanimous.”
  • “As a family.” Nicky attempted a smile. It was weak but it was encouraging.
“Don’t Touch Her” [Jason Todd x Reader]

Requested by anon: “Jason x reader where the boyfriend of the reader’s BFF hits the reader for defending her friend (they’re in an abusive relation) and Jason finds out about it”

A/N: This is a really good idea. We’re gonna get some pissed Jason in here.

Warning: Abuse, mentions of sex, Swearing

[Bff/N] - Best Friend Name [H/Bf/N] - Her Boyfriend’s Name

You were out this fine after noon with your best friend. It was just a simple lunch date you both scheduled. But the moment you saw her, your stomach turned.

She had a black eye and a bruise on her wrist like someone grabbed her there. You knew that bastard [H/Bf/N] was hitting her but she wouldn’t admit it. Jason often heard you ranting about the asshole.

You stood up and strode over to her. Taking her wrist gently in your hands and looked at the black eye. “Did that bastard do this?” you asked softly. She stayed silent, “[Bff/N] please tell me the truth” sitting down at the table as she sat across from you.

“H-he promised not to do it again.” She whispered. You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. “[Bff/N] he said that the last time too didn’t he?”

She just nodded. “Please you can’t stay there. You can stay with Jason and I until you get on your feet. But you can’t stay there” you pleaded in fear for your friend.

“No I couldn’t impede on you guys. I know you and Jason need your couple time.” she shook her head vigorously. You chuckled, “Trust me, we live together, we get plenty of couple time” a teasing tone in your voice.

“I can’t leave him.” She murmured, “Can we just not talk about this now?”

You sighed, “Fine, but we’re not done here”

You spent the rest of the lunch just talking about life and random events. She especially liked asking about you and Jason. She always found you guys to be a perfect couple, but you knew that she hasn’t seen you two butting heads.

It was a nice lunch until her phone rang.

“Hey [H/Bf/N]” she answered shyly

“Where the hell are you?!” you heard his yelling from where you were sitting.

“I’m just getting lunch”

“Well get home now you should’ve told me first”

He hung up the phone after that. You felt your blood boiling. That asshole had the nerve to call, yell at her, then hang up on her.

“I have to go” she spoke, her voice was fragile like it would shatter if she spoke any louder.

“I’m walking you home” you insisted. “N-no [F/n], I-its —”

“No arguments, I’m walking with you” standing up and picking up your jacket.

She gave in and the both of you payed before exiting the small cafe. You were going to give that piece of shit a piece of your mind.

She unlocked her door when you got to her apartment. Immediately upon opening the door he was storming toward her but stopped when he saw you.

“What the hell are you doing here?” he spat. “A pleasure as always asshat” you gave him a unamused grin.

“What’d you call me?” he stalked toward you. “I think you heard me just fine by the amount of smoke coming out of your ears” you mused.

“You bitch” his face was red with anger. You knew you were poking the bear here but you had to get a point across.

“Me a bitch? If you ask me only a cowardly bitch would hit his girlfriend. What was wrong this time, couldn’t get it up?” you stepped up and got in his face.

Before you could react he had risen his fist and connected it to your jaw. You stumbled back, hand gripping your jaw. [Bff/N] ran over to make sure you were alright. He brushed by the both of you, “I need a drink” and out the door.

“Are you alright [F/n]?” she asked concerned.

“Yeah. Yeah I’m fine” you stood up feeling a bit of blood on your jaw. ‘Shit Jason will kill him’ you thought.

You went into her bathroom and cleaned up the blood. She brought you a bandaid and first aid kit. After taking care of the injury, she spoke up.

“I think that you should go, he will only be angrier if you’re here when he gets back.” she instructed. You nodded before heading to the door.

The walk home your jaw hurt like hell and you had to think of a way so that Jason wouldn’t up and shoot the bastard. Long story short you walked slow to gain more time.

Putting your key in the door, before pushing it open you took a deep breath. Mentally preparing yourself for the bombardment of questions you were just about to receive.

Pushing it open you walked inside. Hanging up your coat and setting your bag on the table next to the door. Making your way to the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror you examined the forming bruise. Peeling off the bandaid and cleaning it up with rag.

“I thought I heard you come home” hearing a familiar voice. You looked at Jason and his grin dropped.

He strode over lifting your chin up with his finger, “What happened?” concern was laced in his voice, as his expression mirrored it.

“It’s nothing, just got mugged” you shrugged before turning back to the mirror.

“Mugged, during the day. You and I both know that’s not what happened.” He crossed his arms. Why did he have to be so damn intuitive?

“Come on cough it up.” He waved to you.

You sighed knowing lying would be no use. “It was [H/Bf/N]. I stood up to him and he slugged me” keeping your eyes from his.

“The son of a bitch did what?” He growled. His eyes darkened and his demeanor changed to vigilante rather than boyfriend.

“Jason please don’t, you know, murder him” you followed as he walked out of the bathroom. You knew where he was going, straight to his gun safe.

“Jason” you stopped him as he turned around. He looked at you, he was pissed off.

“I’m not going to let the bastard get away with it”

“I know and we shouldn’t but I think the police might be the best way to go on this one. Maybe we can make it so she won’t lose the apartment or anything. I have a friend in the police force, let me reach out” you persuaded, slowly removing the firearm from his grasp.

His tense body relaxed. Setting the gun back into the safe and turning back to face him.

He examined your face, gently brushing his thumb over the bruise. Then leaned and rested his forehead to yours. “You know I’d never hit you like that right? I know I have a temper but I’d never take it out on you”

“I know Jay. I know” brushing your nose against his.

You and Jason headed over to see [Bff/N] to try and convince her to talk to the police. She had told you he was out so the both of you left that minute. It didn’t take long to get there.

“Hey, how are you feeling?“ you questioned as the both of you walked into her apartment.

“I’m fine, what’re you guys doing here? Is something the matter?”

“Yeah, something is. We’re not letting you live like this anymore. I’m begging you, will you please talk to a police officer. I’ve reached out and a friend of mine is more than willing to talk with you” you begged as she began to think.

Though you all heard the door open, “I’m back.” You flinched slightly at the voice. Jason wrapped your hand in his when he noticed your flinch.

“Who the hell are you?” he questioned upon seeing Jason.

“I’m [F/n]’s boyfriend” Jason answered simply. He laughed, “Sorry for you man”

“Excuse me?” Jason stepped toward him. You kept a grip on his hand, keeping him from getting too far.

“She’s got a mouth on her that one, but I bet you keep it busy with other things huh?” He chuckled.

Okay, yeah… he’s a dead man.

Letting go of your hand he punched [H/Bf/N] right to the jaw” He fell to the floor within the instant.

“Agh, shit” he groaned, getting to his hands. When he stood up Jason pinned him to the wall, “Don’t ever tough her again. You do and you’ll be leaving in a body bag”

The two did not know how serious he actually was. You put a hand on his shoulder, “Bastards not worth it Jay”

At that he let him go before punching him again, knocking him out. “[Bff/N] how about you go grab somethings, you’re welcome to stay with [F/n] and I for awhile. Until you’ll be safe from this douche.”

She nodded and quickly ran into her bedroom. Grabbing some clothes and necessities.

Turning to him, you wrapped your arms around his waist and laid your head on his chest. “That was hot”

You felt his chuckle vibrate in his chest, leading to a smile to grow on your features. “I’m always hot” he teased, making you punch his arm lightly.

You ended up taking [Bff/n] back to your place and convinced her to talk to the police. [H/Bf/N] was soon arrested and received a guilty verdict for assault.

She moved back into her old apartment, you and Jason gave her a hand with getting rid of [H/Bf/N]’s things. She thanked you for everything before you returned home.

Both collapsing on the couch you nestled into him. “Who would’ve thought, Jason Todd’s a hero during the day and night”

He chuckled, “I think you deserve the credit for helping her”

“Yeah but you knocked him out”

He smiled down at you. Before softly kissing your forehead, eliciting giggles from you.

“You’ll always be my hero though” saying it into his chest. Muffled by his shirt.

A smile grew on his face has he wrapped his arms around you tighter. How could anyone ever say they love someone and end up hitting them? He would never dream of hitting you. He just loves you too much.

The Not-So-Glamorous Side of Being an Angel

-eating way to much or not enough because you really can’t tell how much this body needs
-a l w a y s t h i r s t y
-“what do you mean I have to wash the vessel AGAIN I just did that 36 hours ago”
-never really adjusting to having to use the bathroom regularly
-saying something that only divines/angels would understand around your human friends and they don’t get it and it makes things awkward
-“should I tell this friend who I really am I mean we’ve been friends for like 10 years and we trust each other with our lives but STILL”
-seeing fictional angels being depicted or described completely inaccurately and getting unreasonably frustrated
-being super clumsy because you can’t quite get the hang of piloting this dumb human body
-lying awake at 3am because you just feel so lonely and empty inside
-“what if my brain is just making all this up and fabricating memories because I subconsciously want to be Different and Special”
-being afraid to have children because you’ve heard nephilim described as “abominations” and you fear you won’t be able to protect them
-running into someone irl and just KNOWING they’re Angelic too and “omg do they realize I am too do they even realize /they/ are wHAT IF THEY KNOW ME”
-being Fallen and wondering if you actually are the bad guy of your story
-having a disability or chronic illness and wondering if it’s because your vessel can’t handle your powerful soul

Just…being an angel isn’t all fun and games.

Simon Imagine - The meeting (mentions of Joe Sugg, Dan and Phil, etc)

REQUESTED:  “Hi!! I have a quite different imagine request but one where y/n is a beauty you tuber who lives in america and has a beauty release or something like that “think zoella” and her and Simon have been dating for a while and he surprises her at her product launch party”

The minute I entered the room a giant smile erupted over my face. Everything looked beautiful. The polished wooden floors were sprinkled entirely with glitter, sparkles and confetti, leaving my heels completely covered in a coating of shine. Over every wall were photos, polaroids, all from the several shoots I’d done in the past few years building up to this very moment. Pastels and neons, metallics and glitters, the entire room screamed colour, and it was very reflective of the way I felt in this very moment. I could not believe the job that had been done, and as I thanked everyone I was ecstatic; nobody could have done a better job of promoting the launch of my first ever beauty range.

It wasn’t long before people started arriving. I stood at the door for a while, welcoming those I had not yet met, admiring the clean city streets of London whilst I did so. The entire atmosphere was worlds apart from what I was used to back in LA, and I couldn’t help but feel like I knew which one I preferred. London was smaller, more comforting, less dramatic - there was a definite home vibe to it, and it was massively enjoyable.

“You must be Y/n, right? This event is incredible congratulations!”

I turned around at the mention of my name, and was instantly greeted face to face by Zoe Sugg, the woman who had inspired me most to construct this event. I felt the blood rush from my face.

“Oh my gosh, Zoe! Thank you so much!”

“Aw it’s okay! Come on, let’s go inside, you shouldn’t be missing out on all the fun!”

I complied politely, taking her arm and walking through the hallway towards where my event was taking place. Inside everybody had arrived. There were youtubers everywhere, taking photos, vlogging, testing out the products lined up along the stands and tables. Zoe turned her head towards me.

“Have you tried anything from the sweet table yet?”

“There’s a sweet table?” I asked, astonished. Her face softened into a humoured smile and I couldn’t help but feel envious of her beauty.

“Yeah, I thought I as much. I know when you’re planning these things it’s hard to actually experience them. Let’s go get food!”

She tugged on my arm slightly, taking me in the direction of where three tables stood consecutively. Each one was decorated in different types of confectionery; jars of brightly coloured sweets, plates of cupcakes, bowls of marshmallows and chocolates. I picked up a mason jar of pink lemonade as Zoe pulled me over to her group of friends.

“Y/n, I want you to meet Alfie, Joe, Louise, Dan and Phil. Guys this is Y/n, the creator of this event and it’s products.”

I was greeted with a chain of hellos and hugs, and it occurred to me how attractive the British vloggers truly were. I sipped on my straw to suppress my nerves as I made small conversation. I had met so many lovely new people tonight, and yet still there was one left; Simon Minter. I had met him over twitter, and skype, and facetime and Snapchat and every other social media currently existing, however face to face was still yet to happen. Despite our lack of actual human interaction I felt hugely attracted to the boy, something that was no secret to my fans and followers, who had been tweeting me since sunrise asking if today would be the day of our meeting. Secretly I had been hoping for months that it would - I was desperate to see him, hear his voice without the robotic alterations, touch him for the first time. Even my managers were keen, set on the fact that the presence of someone with that large of a following would do nothing but good for the sales of my products. However, realistically, a place as pink and glorified as this would be no place for a fifa youtuber. I tried to shake this thought in order to keep up my high spirits.

“So Y/n, what made you decide to host your event in London, why not LA?” Dan asked with genuine interest.

“It’s where most of my following is,” I smiled. “And I’ve always wanted to visit anyway, so it seemed to make sense.”

“Ah. Yeah it’s a decent area!”

“Does that desire to visit correlate in anyway with a certain Fifa youtuber? Someone who’s name perhaps rhymes with Dimon?”

I blushed as everybody laughed at Joe’s comment. “There is that, I suppose. May I ask how you know of mine and Simon’s interactions? Big fan of my Q&A’s?”

“Well of course Y/n!” Joe laughed, a flirt of light hearted mockery laced in his voice. “Although it definitely helps that I’ve been blessed with the privilege of playing cards against humanity with the Sidemen, so I’m pretty clued up on the extent of your relationship, actually.”

My face heated as I squirmed. “I won’t ask anymore on that one!”

“Probably for the best.”

The conversation continued for a while. Louise complimented me on my dress, Dan and Phil quizzed me on my life and I tested out some of my scrubs and moisturisers on Joe’s face. As I l talked, my eyes turned to Zoe and Alfie, who were whispering just beside me, Alfie’s eyes down at his phone. I raised an eyebrow as Zoe looked up at me.

“You know what Y/n, I think you and I should go and take some photos in the photobooth.”

“Um, sure..?” Her spontaneity threw me off slightly as she took my arm once again, speed walking me out of the room. There’s a photobooth too now??

“And here we are!”

I admired the golden machine, my name sprawled on the side in large, sparkly letters.

“It’s pretty, isn’t it.” She smiled. “And talking of pretty, you look amazing, so get your bum in there first!”

I smiled. Someone like Zoe was impossible to say no to. She watched me eagerly, Alfie not far behind as I pulled back the red curtain..

“Oh my God!”

Sat on the swivelling stool inside was none other but Simon. He looked outstanding, all clad in a black and white suit, his collar opened slightly missing a tie. His hair was still red toned, and it looked surprisingly good as he climbed out of the machine and picked me up off of the ground.

“Hello Y/n.”

His voice sent shivers down my spine. It was much deeper than what I was used to, although still just as soft and comforting, especially whilst blessing the syllables of my name. My cheeks ached from grinning.

“Simon! I didn’t think you’d be here!”

“Why would you think that? I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“I didn’t exactly think face masks and bath bombs were your thing, funnily enough.”

“Hey, you don’t know my lifestyle.” He joked, and I smiled.

“Very true, I don’t.” He released me from his arms. “But I’d like to.”

“Well, if ever there was a moment I was more sure of wanting you to find out, I think it’s this one.” My cheeks heated for what seemed to be the tenth time tonight as Simon held me at arms length, his eyes scanning up and down my body, focusing on the curves of my silky red dress. “You look..incredible, Y/n.”

“And you, Simon.”

We stood for a second, just watching eachother. I paid particular attention to his eyes and their deep blue pigment. He looked younger in real life, his face fresher, a lot brighter without the dim of a computer screen in front of it. I felt zoe touch both our arms.

“Right you two love birds, let’s go back to where the party’s at, come on!”

We both grinned as her and Alfie shuffled ahead.

“11 million subs just touched my arm. I’m gassed.” Simon whispered, and I hit his arm playfully.

“Aren’t you used to it? You live with the KSI.” I quizzed him as we walked along.

“Oh trust me Y/n, 15 million subscribers touches you in a very different way.”

Auston Matthews - Part 30

So… remember what the “~~” symbol means.

I can hear my own breath as I walk through the foyer and into the back hallway, careful not to step on the lights. My heart is pounding my chest, there’s no fear just wonder. The lights end at the slider that leads onto the back porch and right when I reach the door, another strand on the other side turns on. I slowly open the door and step back out into the subtle cold of Toronto air, my breath just barely visible.

The lights lead down the short stairway into the backyard where someone has shoveled a path where the lights rest. I step onto the freshly shoveled path, my hands deep in my pockets and my pulse pounding in my ear. Half of my backyard is open and the rest in sheltered by trees, which is where the lights lead to. Auston’s words come back to me about being alone and no one knowing where I am. I shiver and push my hands deeper into my pockets.

Continuing on, I follow the trail through the dusting of trees to just the other side of them. I pause next to the trunk of one, my hand grazing the rough, cold bark as I follow the rest of the trail with my eyes. What I see at the end of the rope takes my breath away. I stumble forward, all previous hesitation gone. The lights lead up and wrap around the slender tripod of legs which are holding up something that I’ve dreamed about since I was eight years old.

I drop to my knees and stare in astonishment at the telescope in front of me. Raising a shaky finger, I trace the engraved words on the side of the telescope and let out a shaky laugh. “Arabian Nights” catches the glare of the lights all round me and I wipe at my cheek, a single tear slipping down from my eyes. This is the exact telescope that I begged my parents for every Christmas and birthday. I look at the position it’s pointing in and realize that it must be pointed at something in the sky. Climbing to my feet, I bend over and look through. Polaris quickly comes into focus and I put my hand over my mouth to stifle the noise that comes out.

“So, what do you see?” A voice says behind me and I whip around, tears still falling silently down my cheeks as I can make out Auston’s face, watching me warily as he makes his way slowly to me.

Utterly speechless, I stare at him in wonder, my mouth gaping open. Auston comes to a slow stop just a few feet away from me, his eyes dark and an expression I can’t put my finger on playing across his features.

“Because when I look through it, all I see is you,” he says softly and I realize how hard I have been breathing while trying not to cry.

I step towards him at the same time he closes the distance between us, my hands grabbing hold of the lapels of his jacket and his hands are on my cheeks as our lips come together. The ache that had been in my chest for the last few days comes boiling to the surface and I push all of it into our kiss. My nails dig into his coat and pull him as close as I possibly can to me as he opens his mouth to me. I lose track of the time as we speak without words, letting all the frustration and sadness from the last few days out.

When we break away neither of us can hardly breathe, our foreheads against each other. His eyes are on my hands still against his chest, mine are on his.

“You want to know what I see?” I whisper, and he closes his eyes at the sound of my voice. “Since I got here, since my very first night sleeping your couch… I’ve been home.”

Auston opens his eyes and stares into mine, almost looking like he’s trying to validate my words by staring into my soul.

“I love you,” he whispers and I feel like I’m about to float up into the night sky myself.

“I know,” I whisper back, smiling.

“Well you could have told me that I love you, would have saved us a lot of misery the last few days,” he scoffs and I laugh, pulling my head back to get a full look of his face.

“You sure about that?” I ask, quirking an eyebrow at him and his eyes go to my brow.

“I missed that,” he says, smiling softly as he brushes his thumb against my forehead.

“I missed you,” I say back, tilting my head up and kissing him gently. “And I think you earned yourself a lot of bonus points with your little scheme tonight,” I add looking over my shoulder at my new baby.

“Did I get the right one?” He asks, putting an arm around me and taking a good look at the telescope.

“Yes, I can’t believe you were able to find it and you even had it engraved,” I say breathlessly, caressing the body gently and Auston raises his eyebrows.

“I get the feeling I now come second to a piece of metal…” he says and I look at him.

“What do you mean? You’re third; dogs, telescope, boyfriend,” I make a face at him. “I thought that’s how everyone thinks,” I tease and he rolls his eyes.

“I see how it is,” Auston sighs and looks away with a pouty face.

I tuck my fingers into his waist band and tug him to me, he instantly tilts his head down to me like he’s going to kiss me, his eyes dark.

“But I think you could possibly lobby your way into the second spot…” I whisper and grin at him as his eyes narrow at me. “After all,” I continue, tilting my head up to his and whisper against his lips, my fingers flexing just inside his waist band. “A telescope can only keep me occupied for so long.”

Auston takes a deep, shaky breath in staring hard at me.

“Please tell me you don’t want to stay out here and play with your new toy,” he finally mutters, shutting his eyes and looking like he’s in pain.

“You don’t want an astronomy lesson?” I ask, overly enjoying myself.

“Not in the slightest right now,” he answers, his eyes opening and going from my mouth to my eyes.

“Hmm, guess that changes my plans a bit then,” I muse, letting out a heavy sigh.

Auston makes a noise in the back of his throat and I bite my lip to keep from laughing.

“But it sounds like you had other plans for the night, what did they entail?” I ask, tilting my head to the side.

“Honey, I don’t think I can even begin to describe what I had planned,” Auston sighs, the pained expression again flashing across his face and I decide he’s had enough.

“Then you’ll just have to show me,” I say, taking his hand and tugging him away from the telescope, backing towards my house.

I don’t have to say it twice, Auston instantly follows and soon is pulling me towards the house. My heart hammers in my chest and a nervous yet excited feeling blooms in my belly. Auston quickly unplugs an extension cord that I didn’t notice and my backyard instantly gets dark again before Auston drags me inside. He barely takes the time to kick off his shoes, tugging me along and I stumble slightly as I peel off my own.

“In a hurry?” I ask, stifling a laugh as we fumble through the dark living room to the stairs.

“Trust me, Y/N, nothing about tonight involves me being a hurry,” he says, looking over his shoulder at me, winking at me and my heart drops into my stomach.

I don’t say anything else as we make our way upstairs, my dogs barely open their eyes as we pass by their beds in the den upstairs. Auston pulls me into my room and slowly closes the door behind us, letting go of my hand. I back away a few steps and we both stare at each other, neither of us making a move towards the other.

After a few seconds of heavy breathing on my part and I reach up and unzip my coat, letting it fall to the ground beside me. Auston never takes his eyes off of me as I then reach for the hem of my shirt and tug it up and over my head, throwing that to the side as well. This time he audibly gulps and I can tell it’s causing him physical pain to keep looking at my eyes. Still not saying a single word, I reach to the waist of my jeans and unbutton them, shimmying out of them, kicking them and my socks to the side.

Auston shifts slightly as I take a slow step towards him. Reaching for his jacket as well, pushing it off his shoulders, I finally break the silence.

“You know, we could get to the fun part if you actually moved,” I tease him, reaching for the suit jacket as well, Arizona boy must have been cold.

Auston seems to snap to life at my words and his hands are suddenly around my waist, clutching at my bare skin as his mouth covers mine. I lose interest in unbuttoning his shirt and let him walk me backwards to my bed. When the back of my legs hit the edge of the bed, I make to lay down but Auston lifts me instead, settling me down in the middle of the bed before covering my body with him. My knees move apart and he settles between them, one hand on my neck as he kisses me with such ferocity that my lips will be swollen.

The buttons of his dress shirt dig into my skin and I wiggle beneath him, trying to get a hand between us to undo his shirt. He seems to feel what I’m trying to do and lifts himself slightly so I have more room but that results in his lower half pressing against me harder and I gasp. Auston takes the opportunity to move his mouth to my neck, his hand moving down to my chest and caressing me.

I’m quickly losing focus on Auston’s shirt and accidently rip the last two buttons open. Auston breaks away from me to look at his shirt and then at me, an amused look on his face.

“Sorry,” I say and he laughs, sitting back on his heels and freeing his arms from the confines of his now ruined shirt. I watch him as he undoes his belt and pants, not taking them off but making it easier for me to do it later.

He lays his body back down on mine, his hand exploring my bare skin and my not so bare skin. I wiggle beneath him as his hand takes advantage of the fact that my legs are pinned on either side of him and causes me to make a few inhuman noises. Auston smiles against my neck as my breathing gets harsh and uncontrollable, even more so when my back arches off the bed as I try to find some sort of relief.

“Auston,” I whine, trying to shift my hips which I find is very difficult when there’s a 200+ pound boy on top of you.

“I feel like I’ll be hearing that a lot tonight,” he whispers in my ear and I scowl at him.

“I swear to God if you don’t stop teasing me I’m gonna…” the rest of my words are lost in a broken moan as he finally listens to me and puts me out of my misery and into sweet bliss.

As I float back down to earth I can feel Auston’s eyes on me and I’m too disoriented to be embarrassed. Giving him a lazy smile I stretch out beneath him.

“I can’t believe I actually get you,” he whispers, kissing my jaw and cheek gently.

“What do you mean?” I ask him, tilting my head back in hopes that his kisses will move down a little.

“I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was fifteen,” he answers, oblivious to my attempt for a neck kiss.

I blush and turn my head away from him to hide my smile. Auston grabs his chin and forces me to look back at him.

“That’s my favorite smile of yours,” he says gently, his thumb brushing my lip.

“Because I’m the only one that gets to see it,” he answers, a soft smile peeking at me.

I bite my lip and take the moment of distraction to buck my hips and roll him to the side. I follow his roll and sit myself on top of him. He blinks up at me in surprise.

“You can tell me everything you love about me later,” I say, leaning down and kissing his jaw. “Right now I need you.”

Auston groans under my sudden assault and his hands rest on my thighs. I’m quick to rid him of his remaining clothes as and he returns the favor. When I’m back settled beneath him, he looks at me a little unsure.

“Um… do you have…?” He asks and I laugh, apparently he hadn’t thought the entire night through. I nod to the nightstand to my left and he raises his eyebrows at me.

“You weren’t the only one trying without being successful,” I grin at him and he scoffs.

“Yeah, right. If that were so this would have been done a very long time ago,” he mumbles and reaches into the drawer, ripping open the little packet and adjusting it into place.

I can’t help but tense slightly, the nervous feeling coming back into my belly. Auston seems to sense this or he notices the change in my body and he leans back down to kiss me gently.

“I love you,” he whispers and just like that every nervous feeling floats away as quickly as it came.

“I love you, too,” I whisper back, wrapping my arms under his shoulders as he reaches down and soon enough I feel the pressure. Breathing in deeply, I tilt my head back and can’t help the quiet moan that escapes my throat. Auston makes a similar noise above me and I can feel his breath against my neck as he gains his rhythm. I bring my legs around his waist and he gasps, going still against me and I don’t move either.

“Remember what I said about hurrying?” He asks a little hesitantly and I giggle, kissing his neck as he begins to rock against me again. Our breathing synchronizes and we climb higher and higher together, our lips occasionally finding each other. We break the surface as one with Auston whispering my name, and never in my life have I ever felt as vulnerable and surrounded by love in my life.

Auston lifts his head from my neck after a moment and kisses my lips lazily, an adorable, ruffled expression on his face and I have never loved him more. I run my fingers through his hair gently and shyly smile as my fingers trail down his face to his cheek and he turns his head, kissing my palm and fingers.

“What did I do to deserve you?” I ask him, my heart fluttering in my chest.

“I really don’t think you’re the one who should be asking that,” he replies, still not bothering to get off me, which I don’t complain about.

               “I do,” I whisper.

“I hope you know that I’m never letting you out of this bed,” he says, giving me my favorite playful smile.

“But I have a new telescope to play with,” I pout and he kisses my lips.

“Alright, fine. One hour a night is all you get,” he admonishes and I giggle, pressing his lips for another kiss.

We lay in silence for a few minutes, basking in the slightly moonlight coming in from the window. Auston tangles his fingers with mine, playing with them, a thoughtful look on his face but I don’t ask him what. After a little while he pinches my side and I squeal.

“Round two?” He asks, a devilish grin on his face and I laugh.

“Is that even a question?” I ask him, wiggling against him.

“That’s my girl,” he says, his lips seeking out mine once more.

Moving On

Pairing: Steve x Reader

Prompt: ‘it hurt me to realise you didn’t love me anymore, but it hurt even more when I saw you fall in love with her.’

Word Count: 3547

A/N: God I don’t know how this ended up so long, but I hope you enjoy it regardless. It’s been so long since I’ve written anything, but here goes nothing. Pleaaaaseeee if you have any comments let me know, hope you all have a lovely day :)

“Are you sure you want another one of those?”

I squinted my eyes, “you want my money don’t you?” My speech was slightly slurred—even I was taken back. I never got to the point where my speech slurred.

“(Y/N)—“ Dan sighed heavily before swiping my glass from the bar, “you’re not having anymore, I’m cutting you off.” He placed the tumbler into a large plastic tub by the kegs and brought me a glass of water. “And you know I don’t want your money anymore, I haven’t wanted your money for years.” It was true, most nights I didn’t pay for my alcohol—but most nights I wasn’t getting blind drunk to mask my overwhelming sadness.

I gulped down the water, slamming the glass onto the wooden counter as soon as I was done. “I’m so pathetic Dan, look at me.” I could feel my eyes well up, “I don’t even know who I am anymore.” the lump in my throat began to rise as I tried to fight back the tears. “He’s getting married tomorrow and I’m here! I’m here getting drunk and the saddest part is for a year and a half—a fucking year and a half I’ve told myself, told everybody! I’ve told anyone who I could that I was fine—But I’m not, I’m not fine, I haven’t been fine since he left me.” I was flailing my arms; the guy beside me was blatantly staring.

“Aren’t you one of those superheroes?” He asked, a hint of disgust in his tone.

“Fuck off.” I flipped him the finger and turned back to Dan.

“Sorry buddy.” He rushed to apologise to the patron, “why don’t I get you another beer?”

“Forget it,” the man declined the offer, instead he got up and grabbed his duffle coat from his chair. “You’re right,” he said looking me in the eye, “you are pathetic.”

I felt the blood rush to my head, the glass beside me shattering without warning. “(Y/N)!” Dan screamed, before grabbing my hand, “control yourself!” I suddenly jolted back to reality.

“And these are the people we trust with our lives?” The man scoffed before scurrying out the door.

“Fucking prick!” I called after him, knowing it would fall on deaf ears.

“Jesus Christ (Y/N) you can’t just pull shit like that!” Dan slammed another glass of water down in front of me. “You know I love you, but I’m going to have to call someone to come get you, you need some rest.”

“I was dead!” I cried out, “I was dead for 9 months, is that enough time to grieve?” whatever I was saying, Dan wasn’t interested—he was far too busy on the phone trying to deal with the mess that I was. “9 months.” I whispered the words to myself again and again.

“Someone’s coming to get you.” Dan returned to me, “are you done with this?” he gestured to the water.

I nodded solemnly, “please don’t tell me you called Tony, he’ll be really mad with me.”

“I didn’t call Tony.” Dan mumbled as he wiped down a glass, “God knows I don’t wanna deal with that asshole again.”

“Why don’t you come back to the team Danny?” I grabbed his hand, “I miss you, I need you back.”

“It’s been five years (Y/N), I’m not coming back.” He whipped his hand away. “I can’t live like that anymore—it fucks me up, my head, you know?” I could see the pain in his eyes; the job had been tearing him down.

“I never was and never will be cut out to be a superhero.”

The sound of the bell above the bar door interrupted me before I could say anything, I didn’t bother to look at who it was—I already knew they were there to collect me, not that I needed collecting.

“(Y/N)” a familiar voice spoke as they placed a hand to my shoulder, “let’s get you home.”

My body went rigid as I stared at Dan in contempt, “how could you?” I muttered. I didn’t even have to look to see whose hand was on my shoulder, I already knew and I’d never felt so betrayed in my life.

“He’s the only one who’ll take care of you properly.” Dan couldn’t meet my eyes; he knew just how badly he’d hurt me. “The only one you ever listen to.”

“Don’t fucking touch me Rogers!” I shook Steve off of me.

“What’s gotten into you?!” He was confused; he had no idea how I felt. I’d pretended to be fine with his new situation—buddy, buddy, like he hadn’t chewed my heart up and spat it out.

“Nothing!” the rage that had been building up inside me was returning and it was coming back stronger. I could feel my scalp heat up as the hair on my head turned purple.

“Jesus Christ!” Steve pulled me into his chest and wrapped his arms around me. “Stop,” he whispered to me, “stop please.”

All I could think about as he held onto me was, “why is this happening?” Why was he there? Why was he taking care of me when only a year ago he’d tossed me aside like I was no one? “Let go of me Steve.” I pushed him away, the anger refused to subside.

“How much did you give her to drink?!” He directed his frustration towards Dan.

“Don’t blame me Rogers, she’s here because of you!”

Steve opened his mouth to say something but was taken back by the comment, “what?”

Dan rolled his eyes, “you heard me.”

“(Y/N)—“ he grabbed ahold of my hands and looked me in the eyes, “listen to me—I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m gonna get you home and make you a cup of tea, two sugars, no milk—just the way you like it, okay?”

My heart rate began to slow as he recited the way I liked my tea back to me—he still remembered. “You still know.”

“How could I forget?” He quirked an eyebrow.

“I thought—I thought you wouldn’t remember anything anymore, because you stopped loving me.” I was blabbering, but that was a sign I was calming down. My blood stream was going from turbulent to a steady pump and my scalp was cooling—I imagined the purple was slowly fading back to brown.

Steve stared at me for a second, “let’s go home.” He ignored my comment; instead he steadied me on my feet—shaking off his coat, so that he could wrap it around me.

“You’re gonna be cold.” I mumbled, forgetting that he barely felt the seasons.

“I’ll be fine,” he pulled me into his side and walked me towards the door. He didn’t bother to say anything to Dan, but I couldn’t help myself—I had to turn back to look at him, an apologetic look etched on my face. I knew deep down he was just trying to help.

True to his word Steve managed to get me back home in one piece and even stayed to make me tea. I couldn’t help but stare at him as he stood waiting for it to brew. My heart felt like a weight in my chest—a weight heavier than a boulder. Just staring at him made my eyes well up—it was ridiculous, I was an international superpower, there were countries hunting me and nothing scared me more than my love for him. It was so strong and I couldn’t seem to get rid of it, no matter how hard I tried to escape it.

I pulled the blanket he’d draped around me tightly, my knees pressed to my chest as I sat waiting for him to say something.

“What’s wrong with you (Y/N)?” he asked as he placed my mug down in front of me—his eyes fixated on mine. He was searching them for answers, but I wasn’t sure I could tell him. It hurt me to even think about it, how was I supposed to say it out loud and to him of all people.

“You’re getting married tomorrow and not to me.” I averted my eyes to the floor as soon as the words left my mouth. “You expect me to sit there and be happy for you, but how can I? How can I when that was meant to be you and I?”

“(Y/N)—“ he sighed heavily, “I—you were dead, I thought you weren’t coming back. Last time I waited for someone, I waited too long and that ruined me. I thought if I waited again it’d kill me—It’s not easy you know.” There was clear pain on his face “I loved you, I loved you so much and when you came back I didn’t know how to feel—But she, she was there for me when you were gone, she gave me a second chance.” It had always been hard for Steve to love I knew that. Everyone he’d loved either moved on or died—time had not waited for him and fate had not been easy on him.

“I was only gone 9 months Steve.” I couldn’t stop the single tear from rolling down my cheek. “You know it hurt when I realised you didn’t love me anymore, but it hurt ten times more when I saw you fall in love with her.” Being stuck with Stephen Strange meant death wasn’t really death; the whole time he was bringing me back I was able to see everything that was happening back on earth—I was a ghost.

“I still love you, I really do. You were my best friend and god it was hard for me when you died—I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat, typical withdrawal you know? I was so damn depressed.”

Hearing him say he still loved me almost killed me inside, but hearing him say he’d been depressed brought me physical pain. I still remembered seeing him struggle and feeling helpless—feeling like it was my entire fault.

“Then why won’t you come back to me?” I couldn’t help myself, the tears started to flow freely and I hated myself for it. I had always tried my best to look strong in front of him and now I was breaking down the perfect façade I’d built.

“It’s not that simple (Y/N),” he reached out to hold my hand. “I thought I—how could I break someone else’s heart like that?”

He was right, but I couldn’t care less. She stole him from me, so why did I deserve the pain and not her? I knew I sounded selfish, but I didn’t care—I deserved to be happy too. “You need to leave Captain.” I set down the cup of tea; “I can’t deal with this anymore. You’ve heard my peace; you know I’m still in love with you. If you still want to marry her, then go ahead—but if you change your mind, you know where to find me.”

He got up from his seat and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. “Why did you wait a year and a half to tell me the truth?”

“Because I care about your happiness more than mine.” I always had and I knew it would never change.

“I would’ve left her, if you had just said something earlier.”

“I just need you to leave right now, I already tried to drink myself to death. God knows what’ll happen if you stay any longer.” Crying in front of him made me feel so small, so weak—he’d never seen me cry before, he’d always been the emotional half of our whole, so having him watch me cry made me angry.

“I’m sorry,” he kneeled down in front of me and wiped away my tears. “I really am.”

“Please go,” I sputtered, “please.”

He nodded, “I won’t see you tomorrow will I?”

I laughed through my tears; he really had the audacity to ask.

“Yeah,” he sighed at my reaction, “that’s what I thought.”

“That doesn’t look like a lovely formal dress to me.” Tony remarked as I shoved a spoonful of cereal into my mouth. He was referring to my bright purple pyjamas.

“Considering I’m not going anywhere today I thought these would be the perfect attire.” I continued to shovel down my cereal—all that drinking had left me with the most unfathomable craving for frosty flakes.

“I’m fairly certain we have a wedding to attend today, or Pepper just shoved this suit on me for no reason.” He tried to shove a spoon into my cereal, but I swatted his hand away.

Get your own,” I sputtered, my mouth still full

“Well, I can’t—“ he gestured to the empty box, “you’ve eaten them all.”

I shrugged, “too bad.”

“So wait,” he spoke as he rifled through the cupboards. “You really aren’t coming today?”

“No.” I said monotonously before gulping down some orange juice. “How can I watch the man I love marry someone else?”

He stopped searching for food and slowly turned to look at me. “You still—?”

“Wow I must be really good at masking my feelings.”

“I—wow, just—wow. Count me as not fucking surprised.” He slammed a box of fruit loops down on the counter. “You know for elite crime fighters we really do have an unnecessary amount of sugary treats around.”

“Wait what?” I almost spat out my last beloved mouthful of frosted flakes.

“Well, you’d think that because we were always on the move we’d eat healthier—you know? Have a balanced diet!”

“Tony!” I knew he knew what I was questioning; he was just choosing to avoid it. “I was not talking about the sugary treats.”

“Ah yes, well Rogers is an idiot for not realising that you still love him.” He sat down in front of me, “and marrying her of all people? I’m pretty sure he’s shot her twice, no idea why he’d want to marry her after that.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “You know I still remember the day—“ I was cut off by the sound of Pepper shouting for Tony.

“Oh no, she’s going to find me.” He says it like he’s worried, but sits calmly in his place—looking quite unnerved.

“Oh thank god there you are—(Y/N), why aren’t you dressed?” She asks as soon as she sees me.

“I’m not coming,” I gulp down more juice and trace shapes into the skin of my leg.

“Oh,” her face falls, “understandable.”

“See,” Tony speaks up from his fruit loops, “even Pepper can tell.”

“Well it’s not hard to see.” She marches up to the table and slides the bowl away from Tony “we’re going to be late, hurry up.”

He lets out a heavy sigh but gets up anyway, “see you later kiddo.” His tone is different, somewhat apologetic.

“See you.” I say quietly, before grabbing his bowl—not wanting to let the sugary goodness go to waste.

I was watching the time—I knew the wedding would be over, but I couldn’t bring myself to head back home. I’d made my way over to the park just below the tower—it was the worst decision I’d made all day. Everything there reminded me of Steve. It was the most convenient place for us to go on picnics, or to just relax—he even had a favourite tree. The feeling of being surrounded by all those memories made me sick, but I knew I couldn’t go back home. Knowing that everyone would be there celebrating his new life with someone else was the most horrible feeling in the world. Memories of our past seemed better than having to deal with that.

My phone buzzed from inside my pocket, a message from Wanda illuminating my phone

‘Where are you? Come back quickly, something’s happened.’

It was a very vague message, but something inside me told me that I needed to suck it up and head back home. I didn’t bother to respond, it would only take me a few minutes to get back to the tower anyway.

As I got up I noticed someone jogging towards me—someone in a suit. Assuming it was someone from home, I picked up the pace. Surely if someone had left the reception then the situation at headquarters was bad.

When I notice exactly who was running towards me I almost threw up. “Steve?” I questioned, my voice shaky.

“(Y/N)—“ he stopped in front of me, barely out of breath. “I didn’t do it.”

I felt my heart pound in my chest like it was trying to escape. “You didn’t do what?” I held my hand out to cradle his face, before averting my eyes to his left hand in search for a ring.

“I didn’t marry her—the whole time, all I was thinking about was you—thinking about how I call your name in my sleep when I have a nightmare, or how I can remember every small detail of your body and end up looking for them on her, thinking about all your small quirks and how I loved every single one of them. The whole time, for the past two years, I’ve been trying to find you in her—and for a second there I had myself convinced, because I thought you didn’t love me—But I know now, I know it’s you.”

“No—“ he raised a hand to silence me, “don’t try and tell me otherwise.”

“I’m sorry I lied to you,” I squeaked out the words as the lump in my throat began to rise. “I’m so sorry, I just didn’t want to look vulnerable, but I am—I am vulnerable and I need you.”

He pulled me towards his chest and wrapped his arms firmly around me. “You don’t need me (Y/N), you love me and I love you—but don’t ever say you need me, because I know you. I know how strong you are, and no woman as strong as you could ever depend on a man and nor should she have to.”

I wriggled myself out of his grasp and stared at him in awe, “this is why I love you so much.” I was crying again, but this time I wasn’t angry with myself. Because, for once showing emotion got me what I wanted. “You’ve always known the right things to say.”

“Somehow it’s all natural with you,” he grinned before looping his fingers through mine.

“Don’t get cheesy with me Rogers,” I moved towards him so that our faces were only millimetres apart.

“Is this the point where we dramatically reconcile with a kiss.” He raised an eyebrow, a cheeky smirk spread across his face.

“It won’t be if you keep talking.” I whispered, before his free hand made its way to the back of my neck, pulling me towards him—before I knew it our lips were slowly moving against each other. I knew he was smiling even though my eyes were clamped shut—Steve untangled his hand from mine and used it to grab my waist and pull me closer. I hadn’t felt happiness for a year and a half and yet in the space of five minutes I couldn’t think one unhappy thought—everything felt right again. My whole body was buzzing, from my toes to the hair on my head—he was like a drug, my body responded to him automatically—like he’d said before, it was all natural with us.

He pulled himself away from my lips and kissed my neck, a small shiver ran up my spine as his soft breaths hit the sensitive skin. “God—“ he whispered, making me twitch “I’ve missed you, I’ve missed you so much.”

“Stop,” I sneered, “or you’ll make me cry again.” I wasn’t lying, if he kept going the way he was going I was bound to end up a puddle.

“I can’t help it,” he pulled away. “It should feel strange to be with you again, I should feel bad, but I don’t I mean—“

“It’s okay to feel bad,” I knew deep down he had an ounce of regret.

“I know it is, but she understood. I think she saw it coming—I think everyone saw it coming.”

“How are we going to go back in there?” I bit my lip as I looked up at the tower, “they’re going to be angry.”

“I don’t think so,” he shook his head. “Sure it might be uncomfortable for a few days, but I’m certain 95 per cent of that room didn’t want me to marry the wrong person today.”

“Are you sure?”

“Definitely, I mean Natasha and Tony practically ambushed me before the ceremony and asked me if I was sure I wanted to do it.”

I couldn’t help but laugh as I imagined the two of them just sitting on Steve’s bed, waiting to have an intervention. “Well then Rogers I think we should take this public display of affection and turn it into a private one.”

He re-looped his hand with mine and shot me the biggest grin I’d ever seen. “I think you’re right.”

Summary: High speed vehicles and life threatening races, the fun you weren’t aware of until you got invited to this place. Where police are no where to be seen and people make bets on other’s life. You may just find yourself befriending a group of dorks along the way. Jump right in for the ride of your life.

“Come on, you can’t leave me alone in this. You promised we would go out tonight!” Your bestfriend Yeri said to you. You groaned and replied “Yeah but not to a car race that’s strictly illegal!”

It was spring break, the perfect time to go out and get a way from your studies. You had planned to go out with Yeri for a long time and tonight was your free night to do whatever you wanted. In fact, you were sleeping over at her house and your parents knew but what they didn’t know is that you both are about to escape in the middle of the night to go wondering around where you weren’t allowed to go.

You told her you’d go where ever she wanted, imagining she’d want to go to the movies, shopping or worst case scenario a party but went even higher than that. You aren’t an extroverted person in comparison to her, you prefered not having to deal with crowds and staying as far from danger as possible.

Yeri explained how she was invited to a car race and how it would be such memorable moment to see the cars and know more people. You kept telling her not to go because so many things could end badly. What if the cops show up there? What if your parents found out where you were? You would be so grounded and possibly held captive at your home for being a bad child even though you were close to becoming an adult in a few years.

“God what are you scared of? We should live in the moment! Everything’s gonna be fine just trust me” Yeri said still trying to convince you “Plus, there’s gonna be some cute boys there and you could really use a date” you scoff at her comment. She look back at you shrugging her shoulders “I’m just saying, you have been single for a while and it would be nice to see you letting loose” she said and you reply “Yeah, yeah whatever”

She stood in front of you asking “Well?… Are you going?” anticipating a yes because she knew you’d do anything for her. And you’d feel much more worried if you let her go on her own. You sighed and replied “Okay” making her squeal and embrace you in a hug. You wanted to be mad at her for dragging you into situations like this but she was your best friend after all and you loved her.

“I knew you’d say yes, you’re the best” she said excited “Stay there, I’m going to let you borrow some of my clothes” and with that she started searching on her closet for an outfit for you. She picked out a tight night dress and some high heels for you, similar to what she was going to wear. “Here you go, you’ll look so hot every boy will not take their eyes off you” she said handing you the clothes. You look at them and push them back to her “Nah, I-I think I’m good” because you weren’t really comfortable with that kind of revealing clothes.

Yeri rolled her eyes and asked “And you’re going to go on that?” pointing at your current outfit which was a oversized red hoodie with a band name printed on the front, light wash ripped jeans and a par of white converse. You looked at yourself and shrugged, you didn’t really care that much since you weren’t exactly thrilled to go to the car race initially. She sighed “Fine, whatever floats your boat” then grabbed her clothes and headed to the bathroom to change.

After a few minutes, Yeri was fully changed and you were both ready to go. You escaped from her house carefully and you took her mom’s car to get down town. You were the one driving since Yeri was in heels and she gave you the directions of where to go.

You got there and parked the car. There were so many cars there and it only meant one thing, there must be a whole lot of people there too. You started to feel anxious as you got out of the car and walked. Yeri looked at you, noticing your expression and lightly pinched your cheek “Calm down Y/N, you look like you’re about to puke” she said jokingly “Let’s just get this over with” you said and continued walking towards the crowds of people around some sports cars.

You walked behind Yeri and into the crowd. As you walked, you instantly felt eyes on the both of you. They were looking at Yeri because of how hot she looked in her outfit and looking at you because of how different you dressed in comparison to the rest of the girls in there. Hopefully not noticing that you weren’t old enough to hangout in these types of places.

You looked around and saw how most girls were in dresses and heels, making you stand out from everyone. As you looked around, your eye caught a glance of a group of guys, they were also undressed like you, but they looked unremarkably handsome with their effortless clothes. You quickly turned to look another way before any of them noticed your staring and continued walking with Yeri.

“Yeri, over here!” someone shouted making her turn their way, grab your hand and walk rapidly to them. You met with a group of 5 guys who looked like rich boys. Their cars were clearly expensive, their clothes looked high end and they themselves looked like they had their own hair and make up team. You were starting to wonder, why would they waste their money in such races? And how exactly did Yeri know these people?

“So nice to see you made it” one of the guys said to her. They hugged lightly and he turned his attention to you, looking at you up and down “Who is it that you brought with you?” he asked as he pulled her closer “She’s Y/N, my best friend” Yeri said and he nodded. The rest of them had other girls around them, talking and doing other things that made you feel slightly uncomfortable. Yeri and said guy were now whispering to each other on their ears and ignoring everyone else’s presence, including yours.

You quickly felt neglected by your friend who had insisted you to accompany her in the first place, so you slowly stepped away from the group and began to walking away. You weren’t just going to stand there for god knows how long staring at them. You walked around and you found yourself close to the group of boys you saw earlier. You stood close to their cars, observing them closely but not that close. You didn’t know that much about cars but you had an appreciation for nice looking cars.

One of then stood out for you. It was a red modified sport car, it was shining like a brand new car and looked fairly expensive. You took a step closer and looked inside. The interior was even better. It was white all around and the seats seemed to be of leather. You wanted to drive that thing so bad, it probably costed more than your entire house.

“Like what you see?” a voice comes from behind you suddenly, startling you and making you squeal. You turned around to see it was one of the guys of the group. He was pretty tall, had really cheeky smile on his face and fluffy hair. You put your hands on your pockets, feeling a bit embarrassed for being caught practically gawking at one of their cars “Yeah, it’s pretty cool” you said looking up to him and seeing how his smile now widened. “Thanks, we work hard on it” he said “My name’s Chanyeol” and you replied “I’m Y/N” smiling back to him.

“Y/N, no offence but you don’t really seem like the type of girl that enjoys these kind of things” he said to you and you responded “I was dragged in here by my best friend so you’re totally right” he laughed at your annoyed tone as you mentioned your best friend and asked “Oh I see, and where is she?”. You looked around and pointed to where she was “Over there with those guys”, Chanyeol followed your gaze and as it landed on him, his expression changed. He looked bothered by them and you noticed.

“I’m guessing by the look in your face that you’re not friends with them” you said making him turn to you. He sighed and said “Nope, not at all. Do you know them?” you shook your head and replied “Not at all, my friend is the one who apparently knows them” he nodded slowly. He turned to look at their direction again “Their just a bunch of privileged assholes who think they’re superior to everyone because they have money” he said in a irked tone “We are basically rivals, every time we have a race, the five of them appear; Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Chen and Baekhyun” you nodded your head understandingly.

They did seem to fit the description he was giving to them. They didn’t seem humble at the least, by the smirks on their faces and aura you could see where Chanyeol was coming from. “But forget them” he said “You seem pretty cool and different, I like that. Do you want to meet my friends?” you nodded and followed him as you felt your cheeks flush. Any guy complimenting you would make you feel a bit abashed and hearing it from a cute guy makes it even worse.

“Y/N, these are my friends Sehun, D.O. and Kai. Guys, this is Y/N” Chanyeol said introducing you to his friends. Sehun smiled slightly and waved to you, Kai smiled sweetly and D.O. just nodded his head. He seemed like a serious guy, which kind of intimidated you at first but you smiled to him and the others either way. The one that didn’t scare you at all was Kai because when he smiled his face resembled one of a cute puppy, which warmed you heart. “Nice to meet you! And also, good luck on the race tonight” you said and they all thanked you. “Actually, only two of us are racing tonight” Chanyeol said and then Sehun stepped up “And me being the best of the four of us, of course I’m racing tonight” he said earning a hard slap on the back by D.O.

“Don’t start getting cocky Sehun” D.O. said “Yeah, respect your hyungs idiot” Chanyeol added. Sehun rubbed the part of his back where D.O. hit him and said “I was just joking” in a whiny tone making you giggle. “And who else is racing?” you asked and then Kai spoke with excitement “Ah, our best racer D.O.!” you looked at him and he still had the same expression from earlier. “He may give off a cold vibe but he’s a good guy and also really good at racing” Kai said as he patted D.O.’s shoulder.

After a while of talking to them, a bunch of people started crowding up in the center. You looked around and saw the guys that were with Yeri also joining in the crowd. “It’s time” D.O. said and started walking to the crowd “Time for what?” you asked, Sehun leaned to you and said “Time for the bets”. You were still left a bit confused but of what you could gather, they were going to bet on who will be the winner team. Joining the crowd with Sehun, Kai, D.O. and Chanyeol, you noticed that the so called rivals were right in front of you.

“Settle down now” Xiumin exclaimed to the crowd and nodded torwards Suho for him to speak. “From my team, the ones who will be racing are Lay and Baekhyun” he finished and directed his gaze to Chanyeol making him step forward and he simply said “D.O. and Sehun are up against them”. Suho mockingly chuckled and said “Sad to say this will be awfully easy then, I would prefer to see the leader race for once” Chanyeol gets closer to him and says “I can say the same to you, but hey when was the last time you stepped foot on a sports car that you didn’t have to buy with your daddy’s money?” the crowd ohh’d and Suho’s smirk dropped. But slowly grew on his face again as he replied to Chanyeol “Well you can say whatever you want but you can’t call me broke, can you?”

Chanyeol didn’t respond as Xiumin spoke again “Now that you know the racers, let the bets begin!” and with that a lot of bickering filled the area. People pulling out money from their pockets and purses and betting on their favorites. At one point Suho started talking again, saying rude remarks which were directed to Chanyeol and his team. Chanyeol started to feel bothered and it showed on his face “Why don’t you stop talking and start betting?” Chanyeol said and Suho replied “No, please you go first” Chanyeol raised his eyebrow but contined talking “Alright then, a hundred bucks on my team” Suho giggled mockingly again and said “Just a hundred? Come on Chan, you can do better then that”.

There was a pause where Chanyeol was thinking of his options and Suho took the opportunity to speak “What’s wrong? Can’t pay the rent this month if you spend more? I can lend you a check if you’re so desperate” and that’s what set Chanyeol off. “Five hundred” Chanyeol said, earning looks from his team “Wow, now we’re talking. I’m betting seven hundred on mine” Suho said and Chanyeol quickly said then “Eight hundred” making Suho smirk and they began to bicker to who bets more.

“A thousand dolars” Suho said, Chanyeol looked back at his team and then at Suho. You could see he was having a conflict on his head and didn’t want to be humiliated by Suho. Chanyeol raised his chin and loudly said “I bet my life on my team” earning gasps. “WHAT?!” Kai exclaimed quickly coming close to Chanyeol “What are you doing?” he asked him but Chanyeol wouldn’t take his eyes off Suho. Suho himself was suprised by the words that came out of his mouth, his expression went blank as he didn’t know if he was being serious.

“I said what I said and I’m not backing down” Chanyeol said and you felt worried. You didn’t know him at all but he didn’t seem like a bad guy and why would he just bet his life on a race? It seems so dangerous and scary to you. You would never dare to make a statement like that, serious or not. Maybe he was really trusting of his friends, or maybe it was the heat of the moment. Either way, something in you made you go next to where Kai was and place your hand on Chanyeol’s shoulder. At the contact, he turned his head slightly to you as you mumbled his name in a concerned tone.

Suho noticed you as you walked up to his rival and said “Who’s that? Is that your little girlfriend?” Chanyeol turned his gaze back to Suho “She has nothing to do with the race, stay out of it” he barked back. You were a bit shocked that he would defend you, just with a few minutes of knowing each other but it made you feel protected by him. “Ah don’t get do defensive on me Chan, I was just asking. Make sure to say your goodbyes doll face because he isn’t going to win this one” and with that Suho walked away to his friends and towards the cars to get started.

Chanyeol had his hands balled into fists as he said “I swear I would love to smack that smirk off that prick’s face” and Kai said “Forget him, why the heck would you say that?!” clearly concerned for him. “Why would you do something so stupid like that?” he continued referring to the last bet “What if we don’t win, huh?” Chanyeol looked at Kai and then at his other friends “You HAVE to win” he said making D.O. scoff and reply “It’s not my fault you did such a dumbass decision”. Chanyeol took a hold of his shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes “I didn’t know what I was saying, okay? Yes I’m probably the biggest idiot in the world but please, my life is on the line now” D.O. took his hands of his shoulder and walked towards their cars saying “Calm down will you? I swear, sometimes I question why we ever let you be the leader”

As they lined up the cars together, everyone got ready to see the race. You were looking at Yeri who was still with those guys, especially with their leader Suho. You wanted badly to talk with her but she was fairly away from you and also you didn’t want to have any type of interaction with those guys.

Kai took you out of your thoughts as he stood next to you and said “Have you ever been to the races before?” you shook your head “Not at all, this is my first time” his eyes widened a little and he asked “Really?! Do you want to ride on the race?”. You looked at him confused and asked “What? Ride on the race?” he nodded and said “Well, on the car but you’ll be on the race. It’s super fun and you’ve never done it so you can’t say no!” he grabbed your wrist and pulled you closer to the card and where the rest were.

“Y/N wants to ride with Sehun!” Kai said and you quickly shook your head “No, no, you don’t have to really! I’m good” Chanyeol then asked “Have you ever done it?” you slowly replied with a no and he replied like Kai, saying that you had to do it. “Isn’t this a bit dangerous?” you asked feeling anxious already “Yeah but that’s what makes it fun” Sehun said not helping your anxiety at all. Chanyeol noticed you were getting worried and said “Hey, it’ll be okay. I do it sometimes and I’m still here alive! But if you really want to be secure, go with D.O. because Sehun tends to be a bit reckless sometimes” and Sehun stepped in to defend himself “I am not reckless, I just get too excited on the race”

You giggled at him and saw D.O. rolling his eyes eyes at Sehun “This kid” he mumbled. “Well you have to go, like now. The race starts in a few minutes” Kai said, Sehun and D.O. nodded. They walked to the cars and you followed D.O. to his. He opened the car door and reached over to grab something. Before he got it out, he looked at you and said “You don’t have to, if you don’t want to just say so” referring to joining him in the race. You couldn’t say you weren’t scared, because you were but something in you wanted to do it, have the experience and step out of your comfort zone. You shook your head and replied “I want to” he took out a helmet from the car and handed it to you without a word.

You got in the car with the helmet on. You turned to him and noticed he didn’t have one “Hey, where’s your helmet?” you asked and he responded “I gave you mine”. You started pulling the helmet out of your head “Oh no, this is totally unsafe. I’ll just see the ra-” he stopped you placing his hands over yours “I will be fine. I’ve done this many times without protection” he said and started the car. You nodded and sat in place again.

Suddenly everyone stepped away from the cars and a girl stood in between them. She had a black and white flag in her hand as she began counting down. “3” she shouted and it really made you realize this was really happening, making you have a mini panic attack “Wait, wait, it’s starting?!” you say/yell to D.O. You were in panic mode while he looked calm. “2” oh god, you thought in your head. “Buckle up” D.O. said and you widened your eyes “YOU DIDN’T TELL ME THAT BEFORE” while frantically looking for the seatbelt. He chuckled at your reaction and then “1” the race started.

For a few seconds everything went in slow motion for you. The cars accelerated and shoot foward. You began vigorously yelling for your life as even more panic went through your body. You saw as D.O.’s eyes were fixated only on the road and didn’t look at you for a second even though you were in a concerning state. “OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, MAKE IT STOP” you yelled as the car began speeding up even more.

Everything moved to a incredible speed around you and you began feeling a rush go throughout your veins. After a few seconds of constant yelling, you stopped. You still felt like you were on the verge of dying. Your heart felt like it was going to burst from your chest. But the overwhelming feeling was oddly likeable. You felt really reckless for even agreeing to a situation like this but you liked it, a lot.

“Feels good, doesn’t it?” D.O. finally speaks up “The rush, that’s why we all do it. Well, that and the money” he said while still looking at the road. You were starting to calm down a bit until a hard clash was felt. There was a car right behind you and D.O., hitting the car from the back. You began panicking again as you didn’t know what was going to happen and the car was shaking from the hits. “Shit, hold on” D.O. said as he accelerated the car even more. Making the car in the back appear far away. “How fast can this thing go?!” D.O. looked over to you for a second and asked “You want to see?”. He didn’t even wait for your answer and did his thing. The speed was unexplainable. You were definitely fearing for your life now, eyes closed shut and muscles tensed while he didn’t seem faced at all. Everything went rapidly and you were close to the finish line.

You felt like you were going to pass out if the speed kept going so fast but thankfully everything came to a stop. You opened your eyes to see that the car had stopped and people were soon surrounding you all. You let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding and stepped out of the car. You took out the helmet from your head, letting to show your now messy hair but you didn’t even care, you were just happy to be alive.

The other cars began to appear next. Sehun stepped out with a smile on his face and walked toward you and D.O. Chanyeol and Kai also came through the crowd of people to you both. “D.O. does it again!” Kai shouted “You’re my man” Chanyeol added as he tried to embraced him in a side hug. D.O. wiggled out of Chanyeol and said “Did you really expect something less of me?” in his serious tone and expression.

You walked to them and stopped yourself because of the dizziness still affecting you. Your legs were wobbly and your head was still pinning but luckily one of the guys noticed and hurried to help you out. He got a hold of your arms and helped you walk “Hey, hey, easy now” said Chanyeol as he held you. You looked up to him and thanked him for helping you and he replied “Don’t worry, it’s normal to get dizzy. But it was cool, wasn’t it?” you nodded your head and continued walking.

Soon enough, you began to feel normal again and also you started walking with the guys over to Suho and his team. Chanyeol walked proud as ever with us behind him and as he got close to them he shouted “Suho, you should start calling your daddy because I’m expecting it to be in cash” making Suho turn to him and roll his eyes. “I’ll take them from my black card later, don’t be so desperate Chan” he said back but it just made him look salty about the race. Chanyeol laughed a bit at his comment and said “Come on, just accept the defeat old man” extending his hand for him to shake. Suho looked at him and took his hand. They pulled away and as Suho left he said “Meet me at the same place, I’ll give you the money there”  and with that he was gone to his group.

You stayed talking to the guys for a while but soon enough, it was getting too late and most of the people had already left. The guys offered you a ride home but you insisted on waiting for Yeri. They said their goodbyes and started to walk torwards the cars to leave. You were about to dial Yeri but you stopped as you felt a hand on your shoulder.

You turned to look and it was Chanyeol. He took his hand off your shoulder and said “Look I don’t want this to come off in the wrong way or anything but I think you’re a really cool girl and I’d like to see you again” almost instantly you felt yourself blush at his comment, specificly the part where he said he’d like to see you again. He noticed your reaction and quickly changed what he previously said in fear of scaring you away “I-I mean, we, we’d like to see you again. The guys thought you were pretty cool too…”. You nodded while a smile crept it’s way to your face and he smiled back. “Here’s my number, we can all hangout again soon or I’ll let you know when another race comes up!” he said giving you a piece of pape with what you assumed to be his phone number inside.

You said your goodbyes and saw as Chanyeol walked back to the group of guys waiting for him. As he got closer to them, they starte hitting him in the back and saying stuff to him but you were to far to hear. You were about to put his number in you contacts but then your phone lit up with Yeri’s face in the screen.

You answered the call and she replied “I’ve been waiting for you by the car for like 20 minutes now, where the heck are you?” You looked around and spotted her and started walking to her. “I’m close, calm down stupid. And you have a lot of explaining to do missy” she gasped and said “Me? What about you? You were hangout out with that tall kid, who’s he?” You rolled your eyes and said “ Okay, we both have explaining to do but let’s head home before your parents notice we were out in the first place” and then you hung up, and got in the car.

As you drove home, Yeri was telling you all about how she knew Suho but you were to lost in your thoughts to pay to much attention to what she was saying. Would you see Chanyeol, Sehun, D.O. and Kai again? was the main question running through your brain in the moment but, you’d just have to wait and see.

A/N: Ohhhh, did you guys like it? I really liked writing it. I don’t know if it can be classified as “action” but hey, it’s close enough. And also there isn’t a mayor love interest in this one as you can see, so that’s new. Anyways, if there’s any questions or just something you’d like to said about the story, hit up my inbox fam. I’m active again, *cracks fingers to emphasize my point* I’m ready y’all! ♡

  • he turns into a whiny baby when the other boys aren’t around
  • its like he knows he’s cute or something
  • anyway
  • you’re answer is still a firm “no.”
  • he keeps bugging you but your lips are sealed
  • and this bothers seungcheol so much that he goes ranting about it to his roommate
  • (even though he already tells his roommate everything anyways)
  • this continues on a daily basis for weeks
  • and lucky for seungcheol,
  • his roommate (AKA seungcheol’s fav music major - don’t tell seokmin AKA lee jihoon) isn’t as dense as he is
  • and this roommate eventually gets fed up with the ranting
  • “with your lives. i get it.”
  • “it’s been weeks and i still dont know. and who knows how long Y/N had a crush on this guy. Why can’t they just tell me? I deserve to know blahblahblahblah
  • its the start of another seungcheol rant and jihoon’s done™
  • “it’s bc the person is you, you dense buckethead”
  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! moment for cheol
  • or
  • it should be
  • but no
  • coups is, as jihoon v nicely put it, “a dense bucket head”
  • “that can’t be true.”
  • jihoon rolls his eyes at his dense roommate and just gets back to work
  • seungcheol brushes off jihoons comment and goes to mope some more
  • goddang it coups
  • his reasoning is basicallly
  • Y/N can’t like me like that bc I don’t like Y/N like that
  • right?
  • which is dumb
  • but he’s dense
  • smh
  • anyyyyy waysssssss
  • after jihoon’s comment
  • seungcheol starts to become hyperaware of everything relating to you
  • he starts to reallly notice everything
  • he notices you laughing from across the room
  • he notices you blushing when he lands a little too close to you after a climb
  • he notices that your lockscreen is a group pic of the climbing team
  • but cut so that you and him are in the center of your phone
  • and he notices that maybe you do like him…..
  • and maybe,
  • just maybe
  • he likes you too
  • and he starts to consider the what ifs
  • what if you were actually dating?
  • what would it be like to hold your had everyday, and not just the rope you were attached to
  • what would it be like to go on dates and spend time together outside of school and climbing
  • what would it be like to share more of his life with you
  • what if he could hug you in a non CONGRATS YOU FINISHED THAT SUPER HARD 5.13! (5.13 is a hard level in climbing) way
  • what if he could call you whenever to tell you about his horrible professor
  • what if he didn’t have to hold back?
  • and that’s when it hits him
  • oh dear lordy.
  • he likes you.
  • took him long enough
  • this realization makes him start to take the jokes in a v diiff way when the team jokes about the two of you dating
  • and you notice
  • “are you ok? your face is kind of red”
  • “he’s not ok. he’s sick with love”
  • *whack*
  • “shut up mingyu - seriously, are you ok?”
  • you take him outside to make sure he’s not sick or anything
  • but then he opens his mouth
  • “what if we actually dated?”
  • ???????
  • wat.
  • you’re struggling to process what’s going on but he keeps talking
  • “what if we actually dated? I think i like you. i think i’ve liked you for a while now”
  • and you’re like
  • !!!!!!!!!!!!
  • is he really confessing to you right now?
  • *flips out*
  • but you being you,
  • do not know how to accept a confession
  • and you being the awkward bean you are,
  • start to ramble
  • “well, if we did start dating we’d have to deal with a lot of teasing from the team. and i’m p sure mingyu has a bet going with eunwoo about when we’ll get together so we’ll see who betted what and who’s losing money and -”
  • you’re still rambling when coups grabs your hands and looks you square in the eyes
  • “jihoon said you like me. is that true?”
  • *nod*
  • bc
  • what are words?
  • and your head barely moves before seungcheol is squishing you in a huge hug
  • and suddenly you’re a thing
  • and your crush doesn’t seem so ridiculous or onesided
  • you get to actually do coupley things now
  • (to the delight of both you and the dense one)
  • and now jihoon gets to hear about how fabulous your dates are instead of how you don’t trust coups
  • yeyyyyyyyyy
  • the two of you walk into the next holding hands
  • and amidst the “FINALLY” and “TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGHS” when you tell people that you’re dating
  • you see Mingyu slip eunwoo a few bills
  • rip gyu’s wallet
  • and when seungcheol hugs you from behind playfully
  • and the chorus of awwwws ensue
  • you can’t stop the smile from taking over your face
  • bc even with mingyu commenting “aww look at how disgustingly sweet”
  • you wouldn’t change a thing
