in fact you can see the result

Any dream can become a reality if only you accept the hard work. It is very rare, extremely rare in fact, that success will be handed out on a plate with a ‘free for all’ sign, those who put in the hours are the ones who earn the dreams. Stop telling yourself you’ll work harder tomorrow, that you will work more as of Monday or that you will when you have the time. Dreams only come slow if you work slow, put in the hours and see the results. You can be anything.

Calling all Fire Emblem fans!

Whether you are artists, sprite editors, writers, or just casual fans, we have a project for you.

Introducing fe-communitydesign!

Run by @exaltedgrimleal and @lightningbug-lane, each month, we will be giving you a prompt. Based on the prompt of that month, we invite each of you to draw/edit/write something related to the theme.

Themes can vary from vague words to styles to stories to characters, almost anything you can imagine!

Given the fact that February is a short month, we have decided to start a little early and give you the theme now. The theme for February(and the end of January) is: Valentines/Hearts!

If you decide to participate, make a post or submit it to the blog. We’ll be following the tag #FECommunityDesign so we’ll be hoping to see your results.

Will you design something for this theme? We’d love to see it. Hope you are able to participate, and if you do, hope you have a lot of fun!

When you hear the term “global warming,” you probably picture a freeway packed with bumper-to-bumper traffic, the commuters collectively belching a cloud of deadly gas directly up Mother Nature’s nostrils. The fact of the matter, however, is that transportation emissions account for just 14 percent of human-made greenhouse gas emissions.

As a point of comparison, agriculture is responsible for much more – nearly a quarter of said emissions, all told. In fact, livestock alone is responsible for at least 14.5 percent of the planet-baking gases being released worldwide, and you know what they say: You can lead a man to a Prius, but asking him to give up prime rib is a good way to get a motherfucker shanked.

See, modern livestock are fed a grain-based diet that, while efficient, results in greatly increasing the animals’ gas production. The animals simply didn’t evolve to efficiently digest such a rich diet, and this results in the continuous release of methane, which has as much as 36 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide. Meanwhile, demand for meat, while stable in the developed world, is steadily increasing in developing countries – there are now 1.5 billion cows on earth.

And much like your trucker-hat-loving uncle whom you only see at Thanksgiving dinner, the burps and farts of our livestock are spoiling the environment for everyone.

The solution isn’t metric shit-tons of Beano, but it’s close. Australian researchers discovered a species of seaweed (Asparagopsis taxiformis, which sounds like a spell Harry Potter would cast to make Voldemort’s pee smell bad) that, when fed to livestock in amounts as little as two percent of their diet, almost magically slashes the animals’ methane production by 50 to 70 percent.

6 Incredibly Overlooked Scientific Breakthroughs From 2016

I haven’t been drawing Enjolras for so long time it physically hurts. I’ve tried to experiment with the angle and colors, and… you can see the result. Anyway, I enjoy his facial expression here, and colors, I suppose, emphasize a mood.

I’ve bought myself a english version ot the Les Mis book (here it’s pretty rare). It’s hard to read due to the difficulty of the language (and the fact that my English needs an upgrade) but I’m facinated by the beauty and poetry some of the figures of speech can provide. Especially when it comes to comparison. I hope to use as much quotes from the english version as from the russian one. And life for all around me who’s not Les Mis fan will be even more unbearable)

#1 Tip for AP Classes

So, I see a lot of people – not just here, but in my classes – that are pushing themselves to memorize tons of terms and then become frustrated that they aren’t getting the results they want. And, I think this idea that you need to memorize entire textbooks worth of terms to do well in AP classes is totally inaccurate.
The absolute most important thing you can do is: make connections. AP exams have been reconfigured to see how students can make connections between topics and draw conclusions based on information – not just spout facts. For instance, the AP Biology exam used to ask relatively simple identification questions such as, “Which organelle is responsible for cellular respiration?” The reconfigured exam would instead have a question such as, “Christae are folds found within mitochondria in eukaryotic cells. How do christae provide an advantage in the processes undergone in mitochondria?” (please bear with me I came up with that off the top of my head). Or, in APUSH, there is less focus on the actual battles of the Civil War and a greater emphasis on the Antebellum Period that led up to the conflict.
My point is, the key to success in AP classes (in my opinion), is to not focus just on memorizing facts, but understanding big ideas and trends, and THEN having facts/details to support those ideas.

Studymotivation for when you feel insecure

• Take 5 minutes to think about the fact that you are this far for a reason.

• Make the decision to study to expand your knowledge, not only because you have to

• So that you can explain it to and talk about it with others

• Take a whole evening to make your new plan and enjoy this moment

• In one glance you will see all the things you already finished

• And then get a goodnight sleep, REMEMBERING yourself that you HAVE THIS! You got this.

• Wake up, eat your breakfast and sit with a cup of whatever you love at your desk or somewhere else.

• Pick up your study journal, planner & notes. Focus on that goal, expanding your knowledge.

Yes, we can do this :)

The Angels of Supernatural:  An Illustrated Guide

1.  This is Castiel.

He’s an ancient, mass-murdering Biblical personage wearing the skin of a middle-aged man in a trench coat.

Demons fear him, looking at him in his true form could burn out your eyes, and he’s first introduced by dragging a human soul out of the depths hell.

He is also legitimately one of the most adorable fictional characters in television history.

You will want to protect him.

2.  This is Anna.

She just wanted to do her own thing.  But sadly, the universe doesn’t work that way, and no one would leave her alone.

As a result of this, she eventually sort of snapped.

Also, she slept with her brother’s boyfriend.  Not cool, Anna.  Not cool.

3.  This is Gabriel.

He’s one of heaven’s most powerful archangels.  As you can see, he takes this responsibility very seriously.

Gabriel is much beloved by the fandom due to his seemingly infinite supply of sass.

And, you know, the fact that he sacrificed his life standing up to Lucifer.

However, like all of us, he’s not without flaws:  like most of us, he can have trouble dealing with his family, or with mildly bullying younger siblings.

Or with making people watch their loved ones die horribly an infinite number of times.

Or with the fact that he’s still pretending to be dead.  But hey, nobody’s perfect.

4.  This is Lucifer.

He’s what you might call a “problematic fave:”

For one thing, he has weird ways of showing affection.

And maybe not the best relationship with his family members.

(I’m so sorry for making you look at this.)

And, of course, we have the minor detail that he is literally Satan.

All portrayals of him are creepily endearing.  It will make you uncomfortable how much you start to like him.

5.  This is Zachariah.

His hobbies include causing apocalyptic events to get time off work and yelling at people.

He has no friends.

6.  This is Balthazar.

He’s the vodka aunt of the angelic race, yet manages to make promiscuity, drunkenness, and complaining about everything seem like ridiculously endearing qualities to have.

One of Supernatural’s most popular angels.  Naturally, this means he had to die.

7.  This is Naomi.

Her professional skills include severe psychological torture and interfering with people’s relationships.

No one likes her very much.

8.  This is Samandriel.

Complete cinnamon roll.  He is the one angel who has done literally nothing wrong.  Like, literally.  Ever.

So, naturally, he had to die almost immediately.

(I’m so sorry for making you look at this.  Fuck the writers.)

9.  This is Hannah.

As far as angels go, Hannah is actually pretty cool: she’s super pretty, nice, and generally opposed to the unnecessary massacre of humans, which is always a plus.

Of course, she also spends a large portion of her screen time trying to seduce her brother, and I have a bit of trouble getting past that.  But considering she’s one of the only angels who hasn’t committed genocide or mass-murder at some time or another, I suppose it’s something I can forgive.

10.  This is Metatron.

He is the worst and I have no idea why he’s still alive.

That is all.

The "MUST KNOW" Labs for the NCLEX

It is common to see “normal lab values” that differ slightly from what you see in your textbook or at the hospital. Laboratory reference values often vary among reference sources and are highly dependent on the analytic methods used.

The NCLEX will not ask you to identify lab values with only slight variations from the norm because of this widely-known fact! Instead, questions on lab values will be obviously “off” or else you will be told about an abnormal lab result and then tested on your understanding of the implications of that result: can you anticipate the manifestations, the risks associated with it, or how to intervene?

Don’t focus on memorizing every reference range, but do learn the ones that are likely to show up on the NCLEX.  The following labs are specifically listed on the detailed version of the NCLEX Test Blueprint:

• pH: 7.35 - 7.45

• PO2: 80 - 100

• SaO2: 95 - 100%

• HCO3: 21 - 28 mEq/L or 21 - 28 mmol/L

• BUN: 10-20 mg/dL or 3.6-7.1 mmol/L

• Creatinine 0.5-1.2  mg/dL or 44-106 µmol/L.

• Cholesterol (total): <200 mg/dL or <5.0 mmol/L

• Glucose: 70 - 110 mg/dL (fasting) and  ≥ 200 (casual) or  <6.1 mmol/L (fasting) or ≥ 11.1 mmol/L (casual).

• Critical glucose levels are <40 and >400 mg/dL or <2.22 and >22.2 mmol/L .

• Hematocrit: 37-52% or 0.37-0.52 volume fraction

• Hemoglobin: 12-18 g/dL or 120-180 mmol/L

• HbA1C: 4-5.9% (nondiabetic), < 7% (good diabetic control), > 9% (poor diabetic control)

• Platelets: 150,000-400,000/mm³ or 150-400 x10⁹/L.

• Potassium: 3.5-5.0 mEq/L or 3.5-5 mmol/L.

• Sodium: 136-145 mEq/L or 136/145 mmol/L.

• WBC: 5,000-10,000/mm³ or 5-10 x10⁹/L.

• Critical WBC: <2,000 or >40,000/mm³ or <2 or >40x10⁹/L.

• PT: 11-12.5 seconds (normal) or  ≥1.5-2 x control (with anticoagulant therapy)

• aPTT: 30-40 seconds (normal) or  ≥1.5-2.5 x control (with anticoagulant therapy)

• INR: 0.8 - 1.1 (normal) or 2 - 3 (for A - fib) or  3 - 4.5 (for prosthetic valves)

NCLEX Mastery provides lab reference ranges from Mosby’s, 5th Edition (2013) and Mosby’s Canadian (2012). In a few instances, SI ranges have been sourced from Stedman’s Online or conversions made from Mosby’s conventional values, calculated using the AMA Manual of Style SI Conversion Calculator.

Hi there, hope i wont disturb you with my kind of childlish and stupid question, but could you please tell whats the point of the white guilt? Like all of the nations and people did horrible stuff to the others. Not only whites, but people of colour did exactly the same thing. Besides, people shouldn't live by the choices and behaviors of their ancestors. I call myslef a feminist but im not really concerned about this one.

White guilt, according to Google, is “the individual or collective guilt felt by some white people for harm resulting from racist treatment of ethnic minorities by other white people both historically and currently.”

I think, generally, we can say people have “white guilt” when we look back at history, honestly, and can see the horrible atrocities you’ve alluded to and not see them simply as historical facts but events whose consequences have carried through to times we live in.

They understand that THEY didn’t personally do those things but they have benefited from the inequality it created (white privilege).

And maybe guilt isn’t the right word…. But I think it results in people just being aware of the inequality in our society, why it’s there, and (hopefully) using some of the privilege they’ve gained by working to undo those consequences.

Like, adding onto that post on faking fat positivity, a lot of people really do just reblog things, or parrot other people’s sincere words, to seem nice and supportive or whatever, but, like, that’s meaningless.

The fact is, beauty norms exist and impact a tremendous range of elements in our lives, and both influence and reproduce a lot of oppressive structures. Your ____ positivity is empty if you’re not also unlearning the impact of it in your own politics of desire, if you’re not aware of why positivity can only be real if there’s change involved. because fat people are seen as less than, because black people are seen as less than, because trans people are seen as less than, etc., those views get inscribed into beauty norms, and people as a result see fat people, black people, trans people, etc. as less attractive (or straight up unattractive) and less desirable. Politics of desire are a window into understanding social forces at play.

Like, again, to reference the previous post, if you’re making posts about how “fat tummies are beautiful/great/wonderful/etc., squishy thighs are beautiful /great/wonderful/etc. !” but you yourself do not see those attributes as acceptable in a partner, if you even remotely attribute laziness, or slovenliness, or or any other negative judgment onto someone based on those features (whether alone or in part), then you cannot provide actual positivity about those features. It wouldn’t be sincere…you’d be offering up some hypothetical other as someone who can *actually* see those traits as beautiful without actually challenging the social reality that those traits are not deemed beautiful.

Social beauty norms condition people to respond to certain bodies and forms, and it’s all relative, it all changes decade by decade, century by century, and they impact the whole range of a person’s experiences, from platonic and romantic relationships, to how likely a person is to get hired, to how trustworthy or moral a person is, etc. They fuel a lot of oppression, conditioning people’s passive responses across, say, race, which can be seen clearly in racial dating biases.

Like, no one says you HAVE to date X person, but if your reasons for not doing so are tied to oppressive forces that have conditioned you into those beliefs, then that should at least be acknowledged. And if you want to actually do something about how, say, fat people are treated like shit for being fat, you have to make being fat acceptable. You have to challenge how society has tempered your views on fatness in your politics of desire. You have to do your part, you can’t just wish it away with empty words and call it a day

anonymous asked:

What can I do to keep myself from binging after I see results?? :(

Plan your normal craving foods into your calories. Like if you feel like a hamburger, plan a day you exercise off enough calories to eat it. If you want chips, eat some, exercise off like half the calories. It’s okay to have higher intake days, and they can in fact help avoid future binges

Lots of love

Guild Marks

Mirajane accidentally reads a spell that makes everyone’s guild marks stick together!

“Ah! Juvia, I told you to walk slower!”

“Juvia’s trying, Gray Sama!”

“Natsu, if you make a fast turn like that again I will kill you.”

“It’s not my fault, Lucy, you’re the one who’s always pulling on me!”

“Ow! Watch where you’re going Gajeel!”

“Why don’t you look and see where you’re stepping, squirt?”

“I can’t!”

“Get off—“

“Ouch!”

“Ugh,”

“My hair!”

Walk slower!”

It was utter chaos at the Fairy Tail guild. It was obvious just by looking at the pub itself. The tables were destroyed, the windows were smashed, and it was all the result of one stupid spell. No one tried to stop the livid mages from going on a rampage. In fact, there was absolutely no one who dared.

No one was in the right place to oppose an action against the wills of their angry friends; not after what had just happened to them, at least.

It had all started when Lucy had pointed out a strange piece of paper lying on the ground one day while Team Natsu was walking home from a job. It was old and wrinkled from being tossed around in nature, but everyone could make out vague writing scribbled carelessly across the page in black ink.

She decided to ask Levy about it.

The small bluenette had told her that the writing was in a different, ancient language and had to be deciphered in order to be understood. That’s when the lovely Mirajane decided to pop in.

“That looks interesting,” She had said, plucking the paper from Levy’s hands, “what does it say?”

Thoughtlessly, the model started reading the random letters out loud, trying to make out some kind of meaning.

“Ah—oo—ee—maarg, est—org—gah—mey?”

She kept reading until all of the text had been spoken. The three of them sat there in silence, waiting for something to happen, when suddenly a loud shriek was heard from across the room.

“AAAAH!”

The scream had belonged to Juvia, who was literally being flung through the air by some unknown force to the closest person to her—who happened to be Gray. He too was being moved, and it was obvious that he had absolutely no idea what the hell was going on.

The second that Lucy and Levy uttered the words: “Oh, no,” they too were being whipped around the room to the closest person to them—Gajeel for Levy and Natsu for Lucy. The murmured cries for help and the loud bangs from furniture breaking when the flying bodies crashed into them around were heard across the pub.

Suddenly, everyone became stilled.

Mira gasped and looked around the room as the smoke from the broken tables cleared. Lucy’s hand was resting on Natsu’s shoulder, Levy’s back was attached to Gajeel’s shoulder, and nearly everyone else in the guild was stuck together in some way. Evergreen and Elfman, Lisanna and Bixlow, Wendy and Romeo, etc. The list went on and on.

“AAAAH!” Juvia interrupted the shocked silence by shrieking again upon realizing that Gray was basically clinging onto her leg, his dark guild mark on his chest basically glued to Juvia’s light one.

“What the–?!” The ice mage had stammered, trying to crane his neck around to see where he was and what had happened.

“No, no, no!” Lucy started yanking on her hand, trying to pull it off of the Dragon Slayer’s arm, but it wouldn’t budge. It only caused Natsu to be thrown around.

“Lucy! Stop it! Get your hand off of me!” He cried.

“I can’t!” She screamed.

Soon, everyone who had been attached to someone started flipping out and yelling, trying in every way possible to get away from the other person.

“Everybody calm down!” Mira pleaded, amazingly calming the crowd. “We need to figure out what happened!”

“It’s pretty obvious what happened…” Levy muttered. “Our guild marks are stuck together.”

“Well how do we un-connect them?” Gray murmured with a crimson blush on his face. He was very uncomfortable, and could tell that Juvia felt the same.

“Um…” Mira quickly started trying to read the paper to find any words she could understand, but there were none.

“J-Juvia loves Gray Sama, but this is all happening too fast…” The water mage covered her face in her hands and tried to cover the skin of her exposed leg. “She is so embarrassed!”

“You think I’m not?” Gray shot back, the blush turning redder and redder by the second.

It was at that very moment that Master Makarov walked through the guild doors. He stopped, looked around, sighed, and then slowly turned around to face Natsu.

“What did you do this time?” He asked, already exhausted from the issue in front of him. Natsu leaped forwards and used the arm on which Lucy was attached to point at Gray. The blonde was pulled so roughly that she lost her balance and fell. The only thing that was holding her up was her hand glued to her friends shoulder.

“I didn’t do a damn thing!” He cried, “If anything, it was Gray!”

“How does this involve me at all?! You think I wanted this?” The ice mage tried to stand up, but stopped himself when Juvia flipped over backwards from the sudden movement.

“Maybe, maybe not, but I can totally tell it was you!” Natsu shouted.

“A-ah…” Mirajane guiltily raised the hand that was holding the flyer in the air and sweat-dropped, “I-it was actually me. I’m so sorry; I promise I’ll help fix it!”

“Let me see this.” The master stretched one of his short arms so that it could grab the paper out of Mira’s hand. He scanned the text and the guild hall was silent for a while, watching him. Finally, he set it down on a table next to him and breathed an exhale of relief.

“What is it?” Juvia asked eagerly, “Can you reverse it?”

“Well I have good and bad news.” He started out with, “The good news is that this curse is temporary. Only the caster is not affected when it is read out loud.”

“Good…” Gray sighed, “So what’s the bad news?”

“The bad news is that this spell will last at most for 48 hours, but sometimes it will take a lesser amount of time.”

All at once, the whole guild screamed back,

“Forty eight hours?!”

“That’s two fricking days!” Natsu groaned.

“No shit, idiot,” Gajeel snapped. He stood up and Levy was hoisted up so far off of the ground that her legs were a good few feet above the floor.

“Waahh!” She flailed her legs, “Gajeel, put me down!”

At the same time as this was happening, Juvia was busy trying to stop hyperventilating.

“Two days?” She kept repeating, “What? How will we walk around? How will we eat? AH! How will we go to the bathroom?!”

“C-calm down, Juvia,” Gray stammered, twisting his body around so that he could try and look her in the eyes. “We’ll figure out something.”

“I trust that all of you will be able to survive until I next see you,” Makarov waved, “and I have to attend a meeting a ways away. I just wanted to return to let you all know. Good luck.”

And then the little man left, not wanting to see what happened next.

.

The first thing that everyone had tried to do was leave the guild hall, which proved easy for some people (like Natsu and Lucy, who had almost no trouble at all), but very difficult for others. Levy was still dangling from Gajeel’s shoulder like some kind of ornament, and would scream every time he tried to walk anywhere.

“You’re going to drop me! Why are you so tall?”

“I can’t drop you!” He argued, “You’re physically stuck to me!”

The most awkward pairings in the room had remained there until the rest of the people had left. There was Elfman and Evergreen, who were seated in the corner. Elfman’s face had unfortunately been placed near the woman’s chest, and he was doing his best to crane his neck to get away. Bixlow and Lisanna were also there. They were somewhat in the same position as Gray and Juvia, except Bixlow’s mark was on his tongue. Then there was Gray and Juvia.

They didn’t really know what they were doing at first; Juvia had tried to speed-walk away from him as fast as humanely possible, which ended with Gray’s body being dragged across the floor. Then they tried to think up a plan for walking around.

“So I’m going to stand up,” He told her, “I’ll try and hold you up, since you’ll be lifted off of the ground.”

Her face turned red and she nodded, allowing the man to slowly bend his legs and hoist himself up, taking the girl up with him. Not knowing what to do, she tried to twist herself so that the top half of her body was upright instead of flopping upside down. This did not end well.

“Wait! Ow ow ow…” Gray groaned. Gray had stumbled and whacked his head on the bar table when Juvia had tried to move. This caused him to let go of Juvia, who fell victim to gravity, and in the end, both of them had crashed to the floor.

“Sorry!” Juvia basically shrieked.

“I-It’s okay, ugh,” Gray used his free hand to touch around the new bruise to figure out how bad it was.

“We just need to figure out how to move. How about I hold you like this…” He flipped them both over and held her bridal style (something like that, anyway). Her body was high up on his, so he could pretty much carry her in the crook of his right arm so that her leg was still attached to his chest.

“O-okay,” Juvia agreed, bracing herself for the motion about to occur. Gray gave a strained grin and stood up again. This time when Juvia fell back, Gray could catch her with his right hand.

“Hold on to me,” He said quickly. She rushed to wrap her arms around his body to hang on to his opposite shoulder.

Gray stood like that for a few minutes, to make sure that their weight was balanced equally and that if he were to move, neither one would topple over.

“Okay, let’s try this out…” He took a deep breath and then stepped forwards, surprised at how easy it was. It was like giving someone a piggy back ride, except sideways.

“Is Juvia too heavy?” She asked, embarrassed.

“No way,” He assured her. “It’s easy to carry you now that we’ve figured out how.”

“Where will we go until the spell breaks?”

“Uh,” Gray paused to think for a second and then decided that the best place to go was somewhere no one would see them, but since it would make it way more awkward if they walked all the way to his place looking like this, he changed his mind.

“Let’s find out where everyone else is,” He told her, “Then maybe we can all try and think of a way to break the spell before it wears off.”

.

It was a long journey, but Gray and Juvia finally found themselves right outside of Fairy Hills. At first it was just because Juvia needed to get some of her things if she was going to be staying at Gray’s house for the next two nights, but then they realized that some of their other cursed guild members were gathered there, too.

“Natsu, for the last time before I snap your neck, stop moving around so fast!” Lucy’s loud and shrill voice was by far the most recognizable out of everyone else’s there. She was trying very hard to make Natsu stay still while she explained to Erza about what had happened.

“A spell? It looks more like a curse to me.” The re-quip mage observed as she noticed Gray and Juvia struggling to walk up the hill.

“Hey guys…” Gray greeted everyone. Natsu did his best to refrain from laughing at their positions, but couldn’t help a small snicker from slipping through his lips.

“Hi,” Lucy answered for the two of them.

“I do hope you’re not enjoying this, Gray.” Erza warned, irritated.

“I am not enjoying this, believe me.” Gray hissed in return, trying not to prove himself wrong by staring at Juvia’s lovely legs for too long. Juvia’s expression, which Gray was unable to see, was full of embarrassment.

“Juvia is so sorry, Gray Sama,” She apologized in horror, “She didn’t mean for this to happen!”

“It’s not your fault!”

“Yeah, yeah, we’re all sorry and crap. But how are we going to survive for two days like this?” Natsu groaned.

“I hope no guys are thinking that this is a reasonable excuse for them to be able to stay at Fairy Hills,” Erza said, “it’s still against the rules.”

“But why,” Gray asked, exasperated, “Juvia and I were planning on staying at my place, but what about Gajeel and Levy, or Bixlow and Lisanna? It’s not like anything bad is gonna happen.”

Erza blushed and folded her arms, not thinking quick enough to come up with a valid argument other than muttering;

“Rules are rules.”

Gray just rolled his eyes.

“Erza, we won’t be there long, but Juvia does need to grab some things from her room in order for her to stay at Gray Sama’s apartment.” The water mage said softly. Erza nodded and sighed, motioning to the front doors.

“Okay, but Lucy and Natsu should help you. You two can hardly move around on your own.” She instructed.

After twenty minutes or frantically trying not to fall down the stairs, the four of them miraculously made it to Juvia’s room. It was clean and very organized, with books and clothes and a few dolls of Gray that everyone chose to ignore. The situation was already awkward, and making it even more uncomfortable wouldn’t help anything.

“So Juvia, what do you need us to get?” Lucy asked, trying to be as chipper as possible.

“Well, she needs clothes… and her toothbrush and toothpaste. Oh! And a pillow, and her Teru Teru Bozu doll over there,” She pointed to on top of a bookshelf. “There’s a bag in that cupboard that you can put things in if it would be easier…”

The two mages nodded and then quickly got to work, clumsily tripping over themselves as they did so. Lucy decided to grab some simple, thin clothes that would be easy to put on while the two were stuck together. Natsu had decided to focus on the more attainable objects for him, which was the doll and the toothbrush and paste.

“Don’t bother with the pillow; I’ve got one she can use. If that’s okay with Juvia, obviously.” Gray nonchalantly said. Juvia blushed and approved almost instantly.

“Y-yeah, sure.”

Lucy’s small clothing hunt concluded soon after this, and all of the items went into a blue bag that was handed to Juvia.

“Thank you,” She sighed.

“No big deal,” Natsu shrugged.

“Good luck tonight. Try not to kill each other.” Gray smirked as he walked out of the room and down the stairs.

Natsu ignored the statement and accidently tripped Lucy, who (if looks could kill) would be murdering him with nothing but her eyes.

Gray’s apartment building, Ebony apartments, was probably the farthest distance from the guild out of every other apartment building in range. The walk was terribly long and agonizing for both Gray and Juvia (who was still so uncomfortable that her face was permanently red), but after an hour of stumbling, they finally made it. By this time, it was around eight at night, and Gray was already set to go to sleep.

As soon as he fumbled with the lock to his room enough to make it click open, Gray took a long stride inside and instantly collapsed onto the couch which was (conveniently) right by the door.

“Ah!” Juvia yelped as she was suddenly dropped down so she was lying down on top of the ice mage. He didn’t seem to care.

“Sorry,” He yawned, “Here, how’s this?” He repositioned them so that his head was lying on her legs.

“B-better, Juvia thinks…?” She stammered, unsure of what to do. “Are you okay?”

“Mmm,” He hummed, “yeah, just a little tired. Do you need anything?”

“No, she just wanted to talk about what is going to happen over the next two days.”

“Oh, yeah,” Gray craned his neck to look up at her, and held his head up with his hands. “How are we going to make this work?”

“Well Juvia was thinking that we could lay low until this curse breaks, so you don’t need to walk around as much. It must be straining to carry Juvia all of the time.” She started.

“It’s not that hard,” Gray lied, ignoring the burning pain in his arms and legs. He was a man, and according to Elfman, it was very manly to be able to carry women.

“We could take turns eating so that it’s not as difficult for us, and then when we have to change clothes, we could each just close our eyes.” She continued.  Gray blushed and nodded.

“What about things like using the bathroom?” He asked.

“J-Juvia can probably hold it for two days, since she is made of water.”

“I might not last that long.”

“Maybe Juvia could just close her eyes?”

“Uh… let’s cross that bridge when we get there.”

“Sure.”

They sat there for a while, in an awkward silence. The clock was the only background noise they had. Juvia had tried to think of something witty to say to pass the time, but she just ended up chickening out—scared of making matters even more awkward than they already were. Surprisingly, it was Gray who ended up getting bored of the silence first.

“So, while we’re stuck like this, we might as well talk about something. Right?” He asked, once again looking up at her. She smiled brightly and nodded, relieved that they weren’t still hung up on the whole bathroom topic.

“Of course! What would you like to talk about?” She asked, brushing a few stray hairs out of her eyes. He bit his lower lip while he thought about it.

“I actually have a question.” He eventually said.

“What is it?” Juvia was yet again surprised with this man, who had never before been this forward with her.

“It’s about your body.” He continued. “It’s about how it works.”

Juvia jumped and her face turned scarlet again.

“W-w-what?!”

“Hey, not like that!” Gray quickly defended himself, “Don’t jump to conclusions! It’s about your water body, how that works.”

“Oh,” the bluenette let out a slight laugh out of pure embarrassment, “what about it?”

“I was just thinking about how if you’re made of water, why do you stay in one shape all of the time? Doesn’t water, you know, ooze everywhere?” He made arm motions in a shape of a water droplet bursting open to explain himself to a further extent. Juvia stared at him for a while before starting to giggle at the question.

Ooze?” She laughed, “Ha ha, Juvia doesn’t ooze everywhere because she controls her body, and it doesn’t control her.”

Gray blushed slightly at the obvious explanation.

“So if you wanted to right now, you could turn in to water?”

“Mm-hmm!” She chirped cutely. “Like this.”

Slowly, she held up her left arm. The arm as a whole was perfectly still, but after a few seconds Gray could see her skin start rippling. Most of the time when pebbles are thrown into a pond and cause the ripple effect, the small waves are spread out over a vast body of water and eventually fade away. Juvia’s arm, however, was doing the opposite. The waves were moving inwards towards one spot, and after a while, her arm was no longer an arm, but was completely liquefied.

“Have I ever told you how cool that was?” Gray grinned, in awe. She smiled and turned her arm to the way it normally was.

“No, but thank you,” She answered. “Juvia has a question for Gray Sama, too.”

“Mmm?”

“When you use ice make, the sculpture you create is always a blue-ish color. Lyon Sama’s is a mint color. Why are they different?” She wondered.

“The color of the ice is a personal thing, it kind of makes each ice make wizard unique,” Gray ran a hand through his thick hair and then dropped his head back down. His neck was burning from the strain of looking up. “Like Lyon makes animals and crap, while I make objects.”

“Oh, that’s interesting!” Juvia remarked. She couldn’t see, but Gray rolled his eyes.

“You don’t have to pretend that it’s cool just because I complemented your magic. I know it’s pretty original compared to your talent.” He said. Juvia gasped and frantically shook her head back and forth.

“No! It’s truly very cool!” She lightly nudged the top of his head, “If Juvia were an ice make wizard, what color do you think she would have?”

If Gray had been asked this by any other person, he wouldn’t have to think about the answer for that long. Natsu would have a flaming red-orange, Lucy would have a sparkly pink, Erza would probably have red. But Juvia was different… He had to consider every color a possibility. Her personality was much too diverse.

“Blue…” He had started with. It was pretty easy to guess that color, since she wore it every day.

“Blue?” She repeated, “Like Gray Sama?”

“Nope, not blue.” Gray changed his mind. “Maybe pink?”

“Pink is nice,” Juvia shrugged.

“Wait, sorry, not pink…” Pink was too Lucy, and being compared to her ‘love rival’ would not make Juvia very happy.

“Oh! I’ve got it,” He looked up at her again, “Gold.”

Her eyes lit up. That was the color of the sun, the color of royalty, the color of her personality. Blue was too bland, pink was too flamboyant, but gold was perfect– simple yet elegant.

“Juvia loves gold,” She smiled down at him and gently pushed his head down again.

“You look exhausted, Gray Sama. Sleep for a while.”

“No, I’m okay.”

“Sleep.” She ordered. He rolled his eyes again.

“I’m really not that tired. Can’t we talk more first?”

Blushing and now very much awake, Juvia nodded again.

“Of course!”

11:00 AM, The Next Day

Juvia was (most of the time) a calm sleeper. She didn’t roll around or kick or snore. She was also a very deep sleeper—which was convenient when sleeping anywhere near Gray Fullbuster, who did roll around and kick. The one thing he didn’t do was snore. Juvia hadn’t known the nature of how Gray slept until that morning—when she woke up lying on the ground right near his couch.

She woke up because she had felt something pressing up against her leg—something soft, like hair. When she had opened her eyes, the inevitable few seconds of horror and confusion slapped her across the face as soon as she saw Gray Fullbuster with his face resting right by her lower hip. His left arm was draped across her waist so that his guild mark was still attached to hers, and half of his body had fallen over her leg (which was going numb). She relaxed a little as she remembered what had happened yesterday.

“Gray Sama,” She whispered, lightly running a hand through his hair. “Time to wake up, it’s nearly noon.”

“Wha…” He raised his heavy head and responded with a raspy voice.

“Time to wake up,” Juvia repeated.

“Mmmffine.” Gray dropped his head down and buried it in the pillow resting next to Juvia’s upper thigh.

“Come on,” She laughed a little. “Sit up.”

“I can’t.”

“Hmm… the curse didn’t break overnight.”

“Really?” The sarcasm in his voice was very obvious, but Juvia ignored it.

“Gray Sama, Juvia needs to change clothes.” She changed the subject and folded her arms across her chest.

“Why? Oh,” He noticed she was wearing the same thing as she had been wearing yesterday. “Did we really just fall asleep talking? We didn’t get to change or anything?”

Juvia smiled.

“Apparently not.”

“Well then, grab your bag. I’ll close my eyes.” He shifted his weight so that Juvia was able to move around as freely as she possibly could. Blushing, she reached over Gray’s small coffee table and grabbed the blue bag containing her clothes. Even though she knew Lucy had good fashion sense when she was dressing herself, Juvia was still scared to find out what the blonde had left her with.

The bag contained a white sundress that came to her mid-thigh, undergarments, thick fuzzy socks, and a ribbon to tie her hair with. The dress was pretty, and had different floral designs sewn into the hemming. She had bought this dress when she had joined Fairy Tail, but never had the occasion to wear it.

There’s no time like the present, Juvia thought, shrugging.  Making sure Gray had glued his hand over his eyes with ice and was not watching her, she clumsily pulled off her heavy outfit and slid on the new one.

The white dress was thin and light, and felt nice to be wearing after being stuck in the other sweltering outfit for so long. As she pulled on the fuzzy socks, she made a mental note to thank Lucy for supplying her with such comfortable accesories.

“Okay,” She allowed the man to pry his hand away from his eyes, and once again felt her face flush.

“Th-that’s a pretty dress,” He commented as he looked her over. “I’ve never seen you wear that before.”

“Yeah, Lucy packed it for Juvia. She has never had the occasion to wear it before now.”

“It’s nice.”

“Thank you!”

They sat there for a while, until Gray started to squirm around in discomfort.

“What is it?” Juvia asked.

“Nothing,” Gray said.

“Gray Sama.”

“I… I really have to go to the bathroom.” He admitted, looking away.

“Can you hold it for another twelve hours or so?” She prayed that the answer would be yes, but was let down when he shook his head no.

“I’ve had to go since yesterday,”

“Maybe Mira has something that can suppress it at the guild?” Juvia suggested.

“Juvia, I would rather be attached to Natsu right now than take any sort of magic potion from Mira.” He explained. Juvia tried not to laugh as she thought of Gray being stuck to Natsu’s arm like Lucy was, and was silently grateful that it was her partnered with him instead of the other way around.

“They can’t be that bad,”

“Look where we are right now, Juvia. This is Mira’s doing.” He laughed a little.

“Fine, but how is this going to work?”

“You could close your eyes?” Gray pleaded.

“Okay,” She gave in, reluctant.

Five unbelievably awkward minutes later, the two of them emerged from Gray’s bathroom.

“Well, now it’s over.” He told the bluenette.

“Oh, good,” She laughed to ease the tension, and removed her hands from her eyes.

“Do you want to go see how everyone is in the guild?” He asked, knowing what the answer would be.

“Of course!”

“AAH!”

Upon arriving at their guild, the two mages were greeted with a happy shriek coming from inside the building. It had come from Mira, who had been researching all night on how to break the curse instead of waiting around for it to break itself.

“I found something!” She screamed, drawing everyone’s attention.

“What?!” Levy called back, looking green in the face from constantly being swung around on Gajeel’s back. “Please help, I’ll do anything to get out of this…”

“It’s some kind of potion,” Mira explained, “It should get rid of the binding spell. I’ll start making it now, it shouldn’t take too long.”

She hustled out of the room, leaving everyone excited for her to return.

“Hey, droopy eyes, get your ass over here.”

Gray immediately suppressed a groan when he heard his teammates annoying voice from across the room.

“What?” He shot back.

“Get over here!”

Gray walked over and sat in a chair near the booth he was sitting in. He made a taller chair out of ice that Juvia could sit in, but it was low enough so that their marks were still together.

“Lucy’s gone insane!” Natsu hissed, terrified.

“What?” Gray was alarmed.

“She’s crazy… One second she’d be screaming at me and then the next she’s hugging me and then now…” He moved to show them how Lucy was dead asleep with her head resting on the tabletop.

“She’s sleep deprived.” Juvia diagnosed her almost instantly. “Did she get any sleep last night? What happened?”

“We tried to sleep, except she wouldn’t stay still, and then I accidentally kept rolling so that her arm would get twisted around, but I mean…. I’m pretty sure she slept. I got a little bit of sleep, at least.” Natsu answered.

“Lucy gets moody when she’s tired. Do you remember the time after New Year’s when she had to stay late at the guild to clean up? She almost killed me when I forgot to bring extra garbage bags.” Gray piped up.

“Well crap,” Natsu rubbed his left temple. “Now I feel bad that she couldn’t sleep. What about you two?”

“It was okay. We kind of just fell asleep while talking.” Gray said.

“Lucky.”

“GUYS!” Mira rushed out from the back of the guild, “I’ve got it!”

“WHERE?!”

At that moment Lucy had jolted awake, scaring everyone sitting around her.

“AAH!” Natsu yelped, throwing his hand over his heart.

“Where is it?” Gray yelled.

“I have it right here,” Mira held up a small tube with a thick purple liquid in it, “but there’s only enough for one pair of people.”

As soon as she said that, everyone who had been cursed rushed towards her—racing to get the liquid in her hands. Gajeel and Levy were in the lead, but Natsu and Lucy weren’t far behind. Surprisingly, this time it was Lucy who was dragging Natsu. Gray and Juvia tried to get themselves together enough so they could keep up with the others, but it wasn’t working.

“Hey, Juvia, I’ve got an idea…” Gray whispered. He took a few moments to explain the simple plan to her, and afterwards, Juvia grinned and nodded. They were getting that potion, no matter what.

Eyeing Gajeel and Levy, the rain woman started fidgeting around with her hands, until a nice ball of water was present between them. It was about the size of a watermelon. Looking down at her partner and receiving the approval she needed to continue, she launched it at Mirajane’s potion.

She gasped as the water flew at her, but then relaxed when it slowed down and gently absorbed the bottle and her hand. Gray smirked and repositioned Juvia so that he was able to stretch out his arm and work his magic.

“What the…?!” The girl flinched as the water around her hand began to freeze, just as soon as Gajeel reached her. The iron dragon slayer wrapped his hand around the bottle and tried tugging it away from her, but Mira’s skin was too sensitive.

“Ow! Stop it!” She snapped.

“How the hell are Levy and I supposed to use it if it’s stuck to your hand?” He argued.

“Ask Gray!” Mira pointed at him frantically.

“Don’t be stupid, I can break Gray’s ice any day.” Natsu sauntered up beside them and placed both of his hands on the ice orb. He began to heat it up and add more pressure, but this caused the small shards of ice on the inside to press further into the woman’s skin.

“Stop that, Natsu, it’s hurting her!” Lucy exclaimed.

“How else am I going to get it off?” He asked, exasperated.

You can’t take it off,” Gray said slyly, a smirk still plastered on his face, “But I can.”

Natsu and Gajeel sent him a death glare. Levy and Lucy looked like they were about to cry.

“You stupid stripper bastard!” Gajeel clenched his fists.

“Oh, harsh,” Gray pretended to look hurt as he slowly advanced towards them, taking his sweet time.

“Gray Sama and I will take that potion now,” Juvia winked and smiled cheekily.

“No fricking way, I have put up with too much!” Levy tried to swing her legs to propel her away from Gajeel, but it was no use.

“Please, Juvia, please let us have it, I’m begging you,” Lucy pleaded and stuck a thumb at Natsu. “I can’t spend another day stuck with him, I’ll die!”

“Juvia can’t walk! Gray Sama’s arm will break off from carrying her!” The bluenette stood her ground as Gray placed his hand on the bottle.

“Take ten steps back,” He ordered. The other groups of people slowly moved back, watching his every move. Gray wanted to take a picture so the moment would last forever. This was hysterical and very amusing for him.

“Okay Mira, I’ll melt it now.” He told her. She nodded.

“Fine. But don’t do that again.” She warned.

The ice melted rather quickly in his hands, and the bottle fell right into his open palm. He held it up with pride.

“Yes!”

“Good job, Gray Sama! You’re amazing!” Juvia gushed. Gray couldn’t help himself from smiling.

“You were, too,” He blushed at her cute expression, “So Mira, do we drink this?”

“No, you have to apply it to the surfaces where you’re attached.” Mira answered. Gray wasted no time in flipping the cap open on the bottle and pouring a good amount on his hand, but before he could apply it, Natsu had charged at him with a roar and knocked him off of his feet.

“NO WAY,” He yelled, punching the ice mage, “If we can’t use the potion then you can’t either!”

“We got the potion so we use it! Suck it up!” Gray fought back.

“Gray Sama! The potion!” Juvia shrieked, pointing at the bottle—which had been thrown in the air when everyone had fallen over.

“Hang on, Juvia!” Gray told her as he dived for it, followed by the dragon slayer.

Both of the mages were inches away from grabbing it when it crashed on the floor. The thin liquid quickly seeped down between the floorboards, out of their reach.

Everyone sat there for a while, trying to process what had just happened.

“G-Gray Sama, Juvia thinks the potion isn’t an option anymore…” Juvia stammered. Gray sighed as his head fell down to rest on her stomach.

“Yeah, me too.” He groaned.

“Maybe there’s another way,” Mira thought, “Oh! I could try reading it backwards. That’s how the changeling curse was broken, right Levy?”

“Yes, to some extent…” The script mage nodded, “You could try.”

Mira grinned as the emotionally exhausted people all collapsed on the ground in front of her. She read the words out loud and waited for something to happen, but nothing did.

“Well that didn’t—“

Juvia wasn’t able to finish her statement because, once again, she was being thrown around the room—with Gray still stuck to her. Everyone else was in a frenzy as well, and when the smoke cleared, Mira almost fainted.

Gajeel, Levy, Juvia, Gray, Lucy, and Natsu were all stuck together in a giant glob, with their guild marks pressed together in the center.

“I- I guess that d-didn’t work…” Mira’s face turned a light shade of blue and she dropped the paper with the curse on it.

MIRA!”

Requested by capnitalylovesniall ! I am so sorry this took so long to write and post…. I hope you like it :) Because of all the intensity going on in the manga right now, I decided to write some fluff. Just pretend the Guild is still together  >_< This story was also inspired by some of the fanarts on Tumblr that had to do with the “cursed guild marks”. My ask box is open if you have requests or comments!

Have you ever had that weird feeling that comes with failing to recognize someone you’ve known all your life? Maybe it’s a friend you haven’t seen in six months who’s lost 70 pounds since you last saw them, or your doctor turning up at the grocery store in a Hawaiian shirt and a week of vacation-beard stubble. It’s almost like they’re in disguise.

Now imagine this is your experience with every single person you know – including your own family, spouse, and best friend. Constantly having to squint and say, “Bobby? Is that you?” That’s what life is like with prosopagnosia, aka “face-blindness,” an often hereditary condition that results in an inability to recognize faces. We sat down with someone who has this, and it turns out it’s even weirder than you’d expect…

I Can’t See Faces: 5 Weird Facts About My Life

abbyrose103  asked:

I'm stuck... I can't choose which house, I have taken every quiz under the sun (even Pottermore) and they all give me different houses. Can you help me out?

Hey ! Mmh, I don’t know, we never met so it’s fairly difficult to say :’) Maybe you could check my posts and see if you relate particularly to one house ? And then of course there is this test that I find particularly interesting because it takes into account the fact that we all have traits from different houses inside ourselves (for example I got Slytherin but my result recognized the fact that I had a little bit of Hufflepuff in me). Very useful for people stuck between different houses like you ;) @thesortinghatinreallife is also a very good blog where you can find thoughtful analysis of the different patterns of behavior attached to each house AND a fairly reliable test.

Have you also tried to ask your friends ? Especially if you have a die-hard Potterhead in your closest circle. Sometimes people who know you are more able to detect personnality traits in you that you don’t see or don’t think about. That’s how I knew I was in Slytherin and not Ravenclaw :) You could also try to ask how they would describe you using, let’s say, three adjectives. Maybe you’d see a pattern emerge which would bear some similarity with a house (but then again people sometimes mistake us for what we’re not so you’d have to choose people you think know you quite well)
Otherwise, what matters when you get sorted is what you want and where you want to be. Hermione for example, or Harry, state very clearly in T1 that they want to get into Gryffindor (or avoid Slytherin). Maybe you should re-read the books ? (Although they’re biaised cause the POV is from Gryffindor) Or even check aesthetic blogs to get an idea of the general atmosphere ?

But in the end I think what you need to remember is that no one is a text-book description of their house. I’m a Slytherin alright, but I wouldn’t say that I’m particularly attached to tradition, for example. I identify more with the cunning-irony-protect your loved ones and to hell with all the rest side of the house. So of course if you take a lot of tests you will end up with different results ^^ You should maybe try the tests I gave you, + the complete Pottermore test (cause the one of the official site only shows you 8 questions which I think is not enough) and see what results you get.

That’s for starters ! I hope it has been of any help… Message/ask me about how it went ♥ Good luck with finding your House !

Timer

Summary: A Supercorp Soulmate AU where everything is the same except that everyone can have a device installed that will tell them when they will meet their soulmate. Concept borrowed from the movie Timer (which is great and you should see it!).

Kara must deal with the fact that she may never be able to get a Timer installed due to her invulnerability, and she doesn’t quite know whether that’s good or bad. Things get more challenging for her when the person she’s dating decides to get one installed. Meanwhile, Alex has to deal with the surprising result of her eventual soulmate and Lena Luthor wonders if she’ll ever meet hers. Supercorp slowburn with a little Sanvers thrown in for good measure!

Chapter 1: Checkmate

“Are you scared?” Kara’s wide blue eyes darted from the brochure in her hands to her sister and back again.

“Pfft, of course not.” Alex tossed her long red hair over her shoulder defiantly, but a slight twitch pulled at the corner of her mouth betraying her wavering confidence. Kara watched as her sister pulled at her jean skirt and then ran nervous fingers along the hem of her Black Watch plaid button-down. Picking her way across the clean, crowded showroom, the younger blonde slipped her hand into her sister’s and Alex squeezed it, grateful for the distraction.

Their grasp of sisterhood was still tenuous, a fragile bond that had grown in halting fits and starts, but in this moment, the redhead seemed happy to have a hand to hold. Kara knew that she sometimes said the wrong thing, asked the wrong questions, forgot the English word for everyday objects, but in this moment, she wasn’t some alien girl sharing Alex’s room, she was family, providing comfort on one of the biggest days of her sister’s life.

Today, Alex was officially sixteen years old. Earlier that morning, they were woken with fanfare; there were presents waiting at the breakfast table, and Eliza grew only slightly misty, wishing their father could be there to celebrate with them. And while Kara was still uncertain when it came to most Earth customs, she knew what turning sixteen meant to Alex – to everyone on the planet, it seemed.

Today was the day Alex could get her Timer.

.....The junkrat one is wrong Like very wrong....

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say you’re @jamison-junkrat, the person who reblogged my post saying this:

I’m going to show you exactly where I got my statistics.  Using fanfiction.net, under Overwatch, using the pairing option:

The rest of the pairings were 0 for Junkrat.  So, as you can see, 10 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 20 stories.  Symmetra had 10 stories paired with Junkrat, so she gets 50%.

So it seems like you were off in telling me my statistics were off.  The results probably seem skewed to you because the sample size is small.

And, by the way, I don’t use AO3 because the tags are too user-dependent.  In fact, they’re entirely user-dependent.  Fanfiction.net is more concrete and thus more accurate.  You would have known this if you had bothered to read the FAQ.

After a YEAR LONG plateau, I am FINALLY starting to see results again and I could not be more excited.

It just goes to show you that the number on the scale does not define a weight loss victory. The fact that I didn’t give up after a YEAR of bouncing between 160 and 155 pounds is a MASSIVE VICTORY!

Get knocked down 7 times, stand up 8. Don’t give up.
