in ballpoint pen

This weeks art spam! I’m taking my time with this piece, because I want to get it right. Using ballpoint pen forces me to think about every mark I make on the paper.

So, Elain’s dress is 90% done, and Feyre has wings! Never drawn wings before, and I’m really pleased with how they look so far.

Ballpoint pen sketch

I’ve been really struggling to get the hang of tablet drawing, so in-between practicing, I’ve picked up the ballpoint pens. This is my first sketch featuring Rhys, and I know it’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how this little sketch has turned out.

I love these two so much.

The Belly of the Beast. 2017

The whole book work is coloured black entirely by hand, save for a single drawing. Inspired by Perrault’s version of “Little Red Riding-Hood,” in which the young heroine is not saved by the woodcutter and instead dies inside the wolf. The cut-outs mimic a ‘stomach’ in which the figure will lie when the book is closed, trapped in darkness.
