“Holy fuck.” The profanities left your mouth in a whisper as you stood in shock at the gruesome Lizard creature that stood before you. It was like your mind stopped working as you stood helplessly before one of the infamous villains of New York City, The Lizard. His blood thirsty yellow eyes stared down at you hungrily as his deep voice roared loudly; echoing off the walls. "Run!“

You didn’t need to be told twice before you sprinted down the hall, but it wasn’t fast enough. A few seconds later you felt a gigantic claw grab you by the waist almost effortlessly and lift you in the air as you whimpered in fear. The disgusting beast brought you closer to his face causing a tear to slip down your face. This was it, you were going to die. Bracing yourself for your death that was sure to come you squeezed your eyes shut tight.

"Put the girl down ya big creep." The creatures head whipped around, a low growl erupting from it’s body at the sight of the vigilante in red and blue perched at the window to your left. "Spider-man!" The sound of his name brought relief to your body. He was here, Peter or whoever he is was here and you were going to be saved. You were going to be okay.

"Yup that’s me. Now let her go.” The hero threatened which only caused the Lizard to emit a sinister chuckle. "I’ve got a better idea, go fetch!“ At his words you felt your body being thrown through the air and out the window beside you. Ear piercing screams left your mouth as you fell towards the ground, you were surely gone for now. Waiting for the deadly impact you flinched in terror, however it never came as your fall was broken by a pair of arms wrapped tightly around your waist. "Just hold on and do as I say."

At the sound of his familiar voice you instantly relaxed into his hold, releasing a breath you didn’t know you were holding in. You nodded your head against his chest, never feeling so weak and defenceless before in your life. Spider-man lands on the other side of the school, still able to hear the monster now not too far away. Gently placing you onto the ground he guides you into a nearby empty classroom to hide. Another roar echos throughout the school causing a shiver to travel down your spine. Another tear fell at the sound, just thinking about the beast caused your body to tremble with fear.

"Hey it’s okay. You’re gonna have to hide out here though while I take care of that guy, but you’re gonna be fine okay. I’ll come back when it’s safe alright?” He spoke reassuringly, carefully wiping away the tears that now covered your cheeks as if you were a delicate flower that could fall apart at the slightest touch.

"T-thank you Peter.“ You managed to choke out in between sobs, not even worried about his reaction. Who Peter wanted to be and what he wanted to do in his spare time was the least of both your worries right now. You were sure if he wasn’t wearing his mask right now shock would be written all over his face. "How did you…?"

Sniffling you lightly pulled away from his close proximity mustering a small smile. "Don’t worry just go and kick that things ass.” A chuckle left your mouth at the end of your sentence which Peter smiled at, even if you couldn’t see it. “No problem, just remember to keep quiet."

With that he was gone leaving the door shut behind you as you hid behind the teachers desk at the front of the classroom. The shock of almost dying twice finally got to you as somewhere in between the fighting you passed out on the cold dirty classroom tiles.

When your eyes opened again they were met with a ceiling, your body feeling comfortably rested as it was tucked away in a bed that didn’t belong to you. The last thing you remembered was being in a classroom and Peter leaving to fight the Lizard guy. Turning your head to observe your surroundings you sat up on the bed. Your eyes landed on a familiar shirtless boy who seemed to be unaware of your consciousness as he began to remove the bottom half of his suit, the sight making your cheeks darken to a rosy colour.

"P-peter?” You voice came out hoarse, a result from the deep slumber you’d just awoken from. Immediately at the sound of your voice he snaps his head in your direction, a look of relief splashed across his face at the sight of you. “Y/N you’re awake. I was getting worried for a second there."

Without thinking twice you abruptly wrapped your arms around the boy, engulfing him in an unexpected hug. His shoulders stiffened at first but quickly relaxed as he hugged you in return. "Thank you. Thank you so much. I don’t know how to thank you enough-"

"You don’t have to, honestly.” You knew his words were truthful as that was the type of person Peter was. He was undeniably selfless. But you knew he deserved more than what he got in life, he deserved the world. "But you saved me Peter. I was so scared, I thought I was gonna die and-“

You didn’t get to finish your sentence as tears began to fall down your face uncontrollably as you remembered your near death experience. Peter tightened his grip on your body as your rested your head on his bare shoulder, not having any second thoughts about leaning into his touch. "Hey, hey don’t cry, you’re okay now. That won’t ever happen to you again I promise. You don’t ever have to go through that feeling again. Because i’m always gonna be there to catch you when you fall. I promise you that Y/N.”

Apparently, pointing out statistical trends in terrorism is “manipulating a tragedy”. The Left is being disingenuous though; they don’t care about “manipulating a tragedy”, they do it all the time. What they actually care about is keeping us quiet until the buzz of the incident dissipates and people lose interest. They want to dampen the impact of our message.

Night Terror headcanons

Well since Sans and Papyrus’ souls literally connect to each other, It pays a little toll on Impact when it comes to night terrors cause of how it’s unexplained and eh..traumatizing, it’s also the same for Trajan with his uncle Sans.

And as for Calibri well, since most of your saw the comic, yes he can see timelines too which now puts a bigger toll on Swap!Papyrus’ shoulders; and obviously, I don’t think he’s ever ready to tell the lil’ guy yet. Heck, UT! and UF!Sans ain’t gonna say anything either.

أنا تونس. Je suis France. انا الكويت.

I am Tunisia. I am France. I am Kuwait.

My thoughts are with the victims, survivors and families impacted by ISIS’s terror attacks in Lyon, France, Sousse, Tunisia, and Kuwait City, Kuwait today.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the three different attacks which all occurred earlier today. These events come after ISIS leadership called for such attacks, in the name of the holy month of Ramadan.

In Tunisia, gunmen opened fire on a tourist resort, killing at least 27.

In France, ISIS unsuccessfully tried to blow up an American-owned Lyon factory. They decapitated one worker.

In Kuwait, a bombing was perpetrated on a Shi’ite mosque in Kuwait City. Self-identified as a largely Sunni group, ISIS has perpetrated the systematic murder of Shi’ite Muslims previously.

My heart also goes out to the billions of Muslims whose holy month of Ramadan has been taken and twisted by the so-called “Islamic State.” The billions of Muslims who ISIS does not represent, and who will experience discrimination and hatred because of the actions of a few murderous extremists who have stolen and convoluted Islam to their own ends.

This is the trailer I want to see before the next Disney animated feature.

[ The scene opens over the skyline of a dark, gritty city on a stormy night, illustrated in classic 2-D animation. The constant hiss of rainfall on cement is punctuated with distant thunder. A rough, cynical-sounding voice begins to speak. ]

“Every city sees its dark days. I’m starting to wonder if mine has ever seen light.”

[ The camera pans down the city streets, watching bored, lonely figures drift down the sidewalks beneath umbrellas and unfolded newspapers. ]

“It’s one of those towns where everyone has a sob story. Some tragedy, some twist of fate that forced them to compromise their principles. They never meant to end up this way.”

[ In one scene, a plate-glass shop window suddenly explodes outwards. Civilians scream and duck away; a small flock of wind-up toy birds wearing devious expressions flies out into the street. ]

“Nobody ever does. Nobody’s born evil, after all…”

[ A close-up of a sidewalk pans over a grate. A twisting green vine creeps out, grasping a passing rain boot by the ankle. ]

“…there’s just something about old Saint C that always seems to make ‘em that way.”

[ A shot down a long street is punctuated by soft murmurs of confusion as, one by one, the street lights all go out. ]

“That’s who this city is made up of. Predators and prey. Criminals and bystanders. Say what they will about cleaning up the streets, most of them are just cattle waiting for the wolves.”

[ The view returns to a wide shot, panning over the city towards a large suspension bridge over a bay. ]

“And me?

I am the statistical anomaly four standard deviations outside that data set.”

[ The camera follows the cables up to the top of the bridge. ]

“I am the thorn that no well-meaning mouse can ever pull from the lion of villainy’s paw.

I am the errant french fry in the side of onion rings with crime’s combo meal of chaos.”

[ The camera slows at the peak of the bridge. A flash of lighting silhouettes a figure standing atop it – nothing visible but a windblown cape and a wide-brimmed hat. ]

“I am the terror that flaps in the night.”

[ With another clap of thunder, the screen goes black. ]

SUMMER 2016.

NSA phone record collection does little to prevent terrorist attacks, group says

An analysis of 225 terrorism cases inside the United States since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has concluded that the bulk collection of phone records by the National Security Agency “has had no discernible impact on preventing acts of terrorism.”

In the majority of cases, traditional law enforcement and investigative methods provided the tip or evidence to initiate the case, according to the study by the New America Foundation, a Washington-based nonprofit group.

The study, to be released Monday, corroborates the findings of a White House-appointed review group, which said last month that the NSA counterterrorism program “was not essential to preventing attacks” and that much of the evidence it did turn up “could readily have been obtained in a timely manner using conventional [court] orders.”

Under the program, the NSA amasses the metadata — records of phone numbers dialed and call lengths and times — of virtually every American. Analysts may search the data only with reasonable suspicion that a number is linked to a terrorist group. The content of calls is not collected.

The new study comes as President Obama is deliberating over the future of the NSA’s bulk collection program. Since it was disclosed in June, the program has prompted intense debate over its legality, utility and privacy impact.

Senior administration officials have defended the program as one tool that complements others in building a more complete picture of a terrorist plot or network. And they say it has been valuable in knocking down rumors of a plot and in determining that potential threats against the United States are nonexistent.

The Freedom Tower or One World Trade Center is a breathtaking architectural building located in Lower Manhattan. Standing at 1,776 feet, it’s the tallest building in NYC and serves as a reminder of the resilience of NYC after an impactful act of terror on September 11, 2001. Such an iconic landmark. I couldn’t help but be the tourist in me and snap a photo while taking my post-dinner stroll on May 10, 2016.

Why I think marching isn't helping much.

What a lot of people don’t get is that the Civil Rights protests of the 50s and 60s weren’t necessarily directed at White Americans. They were directed at the national news and therefore the rest of the world.

Think of what was going on WHEN the CRM was happening. The Cold War was Antarctic. We had just gotten out of Korea and were plummeting into Vietnam. Plus a whole bunch of non-White nations were newly independent from their European colonial oppressors and were deciding which way they should go, capitalist or communist. And the powers that colonized them were our allies for the most part.

Now you see, on international news, images of peaceful, well-dressed Black people, who, depending on what newly independent nation you were from, looked a lot like YOUR citizens, being beaten, attacked with dogs, fire hydrants let loose on them. You hear about, and even more impactful, SEE Whites terrorizing, lynching and killing, raping women, blowing up little girls in churches. Those Whites look a lot like the ones who once owned your country too and even speak the same language. And all of this is occurring in the country that is telling you it’s all about freedom, equality and democracy.

And this isn’t even getting into WHY this movement even had to exist in the first place! I remember tutoring ESL students at a local Chicago community college in the 90s. They were studying the CRM but weren’t told WHY it happened just that it did. I said, “Well, you know the United States kept Black people as slaves for about 250 years, right?” They looked completely flabbergasted. They had NO idea because they literally were not told ANY of that in their American history class. So U.S. citizenship classes are lying to the pupils which may explain the disdain so many immigrants have towards Black Americans. They have no idea HOW we got where we are because they literally are NOT told. That dovetails nicely with the anti-Black, White supremacist system of this nation as well.

Those organizers and marchers were looking to shame and embarrass the United States on the world stage. It didn’t look good to have your dirty business aired on the nightly, national news for every foreign dignitary to see. This speaks to the genius of the organizers playing this subtle international political game. The fact we aren’t taught this is another way to deny Black genius and intellectualism.

Along with that, CRM also had the big stick of Black nationalism in the forms of Malcolm X and Stokely Carmichael. Whites felt that they’d better give into non-violent MLK or else the Negroes will turn to the Black nationalist whom they falsely believed were about aggression towards Whites. Pure projection on the part of Whites. Nationalists were about self-defense and self-support. Simply, “Don’t start none; won’t be none.” Shows the violence of the collective White psyche that not being allowed to brutalize Black folks without retaliation was/is seen as violence towards Whites.

You cannot appeal to your oppressor’s humanity and empathy if they have none for you. And without some other leverage, protests and marches won’t and aren’t working. You got to have something your oppressor wants or be able to destroy a thing they, but not you, value.

And right now, Black people in America got nothing we can hold hostage against White people to coerce them (because that’s what happened each and every time a Black liberation movement made any gains. Whites were dragged kicking and screaming to the change, only to reverse every gain at the earliest) to behave. And that’s what it’ll have to take–coercion. And the American system, right up to the Supreme Court, has removed the straight-forward coercion Black people would have had. We got no leverage to use against the White collective.
