The Muslim community is mourning the passing of Nabra, a 17 year old young woman from Sterling, VA. Nabra was beaten to death with a baseball bat and left in a pond after going missing while walking to a mosque with her friends. Hate crime against Muslim Americans is at its highest point with more than 67% increase since 2016. Nabra is another example of the escalating violence towards Muslims Americans. Activists gathered at Union Square to hold a vigil for Nabra and her family and to stand against violence against Muslim Americans.

  • For a handful of black advocacy organizations, whose members joined protests at airports and on the streets of major cities across the nation, the motivation was clear: if black lives matter, then Trump’s controversial ban can not stand, they said.
  • Some groups are scrambling to devote more resources to aiding those affected, in recognition that the executive order is bringing harm to tens of thousands of Arab and black people alike.

Dear God. I’m telling you, man. Trump winning has made certain awful people in this world feel like they have the right to do and say whatever they want.

And it is a joke if that teacher isn’t fired over this.

NASA scientist Sidd Bikkannavar says he was forced to unlock phone at airport

  • Before it was temporarily halted by federal judges, President Donald Trump’s Muslim ban affected thousands of people worldwide. While much of the focus has rightly been on the refugees and immigrants whose lives were affected by the ban, it’s also affected U.S. citizens — including a NASA scientist.
  • Sidd Bikkannavar, who works in NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol on Jan. 30 upon returning to the United States from Santiago, Chile, the Verge reported.  Read more.

Dear White People: You didn’t “survive” Obama. You were never, ever in any threat or danger under Obamas administration People of color, LGBT+, immigrants, people of other faiths, THESE people want to survive Trump.
