نحن حجج اللَّه على خلقه وجدتنا فاطمة حجة اللَّه علينا

“We are the Hujjat of Allah (swt) on his creation, and our grandmother Fatima (as) is the Hujjat of Allah (swt) upon us (the Imams).”

—  Imam Hassan Askari (AS)
  • And old man once saw the young Imam crying in the street where all the other children were busy playing with their toys. He asked whether Imam(a.s.) was crying because he had no toys to play with.
  • Imam Hassan al-Askari (A.S.): "We have not been created to play!"
  • Old man: Where did you learn this from?
  • Imam Hassan al-Askari (A.S.): "Have you not read the Qur'an where it says - "Do you think we have created you in vain and that you will not be returned to us".
  • When the old man heard this he asked Imam(a.s.) for some advice. Imam(a.s.) talked about death, barzakh and qiyama and cried so much, he fainted. When he came to, the old man asked him why he was so fearful as he was not even baligh yet.
  • Imam Hassan al-Askari (A.S.): "I have watched my mother light a fire; she uses the little twigs to get the big pieces of wood to burn; I fear that on Qiyama Allah(SWT) too will use little ones to light the big ones".

الغَضَبُ نارٌ مُوقَدَةٌ مَنْ كَظَمَهُ أطْفأَها وَمَنْ أَطْلَقَهُ كان أوَّلَ مُحْتَرِقٍ بِها

Anger is a raging fire who represses it has put
it out and who releases it will be the first burnt by it.

—  Imam Ali (AS)
O Lord! Forgive what You know about me more than I do. If I
return (to the sins) You return to forgiveness. My Allah forgive me for
what I had promised to myself but You did not find its fulfillment with
me. My Allah forgive me with what I sought nearness to You with my
tongue but my heart opposed and did not perform it. My Allah forgive my
winking of the eye, vile utterances, desires of the heart and errors of
speech.

-Nahjul-Balgaha ,  Sermon 77 Supplications by Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (AS)

أَحْسَنُ الأَفعَالِ مَا وَافَقَ الْحَقَّ وَ أَفْضَلُ الْمَقَالِ مَا طَابَقَ الْصِّدْقَّ

The best actions are those that go along with the truth and the best sayings are those identical to honesty.

—  Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS)

أَلا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لأَنْفُسِكُمْ ثَمَنٌ إِلا الجَنَّةَ فَلاَ تَبيعُوها إِلاَّ بها

There is no price for your nafs (soul) but Jannah (heaven) , so do not settle for less.

—  Imam Ali (AS)
this world is a place of destruction, tribulations, changes
and lessons. As for destruction, the time has its bow pressed (to readiness)
and its dart does not go amiss, its wound does not heal; it afflicts the
living with death, the healthy with ailment and the safe with distress.
—  Imam Ali (AS) , Nahjul Balagha, Sermon 113
