imam abbas

They say that when you enter the vicinity of Karbala al-Muqaddas and first lay eyes upon the Golden Dome overpowering the skyline, you quickly come to notice that one is missing.
Although both the Shrines are built on the same leveled ground and are of the same size, only the dome of Hadhrat Abbas (as) is visible to the guests entering this Holy city.

When the scholars were asked why the dome of Aba Abdillah (as) is seemingly hidden from view, the reply came saying:

“Till today, those who wish to visit their Imam (as) must first go through his guardian, Abal Fadhl al-Abbas (as).”

And Allah  (ﷻ) knows best.

Do you know why Abal Fadel Al-Abbas was called (سبع القنطرة) The Bridge Beast?

When he was 14years old the fitnah of the khawarij happened where they murdered Imam Ali’s friend Abdallah Ibn Khabab and his wife taking out her unborn baby from the womb and beheading it on her body
Imam Ali(as) was very upset upon hearing this that he called out
Only me and my sons will take vengeance for this
So they went to find them and it seemed that these murderous Khawarij had taken refuge in a barrack with 3 gates and a bridge
So Imam Ali(as) took the main gate and told imam Hassan to take the west gate and Imam Hussein to take the east one
As they were heading there Imam Ali heard someone behind him
It was Al-Abbas
He asked him: my son what are you doing here
He replied: who did u send out O'Ameerul Mu'mineen?
The Imam said: I sent your brothers
Al-Abbas said: you assigned gates for them but where is my gate
The Imam said: you are still young my son
Al-Abbas replied: O’ Ameerul Mu'mineen did you not fight for The Prophet of Allah when you were my age
Imam Ali(as) said: but there is only that small bridge left all the gates are taken
Al-Abbas replied: It is mine and I am for it
At this point Imam Ali(as) broke the main gate and roared like a lion making the khawarij run in fear to the east gate where Imam Hussein called out
“Where are you running to when I am the son of Ameerul Mu'mineen?”
So they ran to the west gate and Imam Hassan called out
“Where to when I am the son of the leader of the resplendent and pure”
So the Khawarij said we must go to the bridge otherwise Ali and his sons will destroy us
They get to the bridge and find a child sitting with a sword in his hand he looks at them and says
“I am the son of the red death”
When Imam Ali catches up he finds Al-Abbas(as) sitting on the bridge surrounded by all the khawarijs’ heads
So The Imam(as) kisses him on his forehead.

Fallujah, Iraq. Sergeant Malik Jaber wears green cloth from the revered Imam Abbas shrine on his body armour at a frontline position on the southern edge of the city. He credits the holy object with saving his life when fighting the Islamic State militants in Beiji, the central Iraqi town that is also home to a key oil refinery. ‘This time it will keep me safe again,’ Jaber said, ‘God willing.’

O soul! After al-Husain nobody does count!
After him, you should to nothing amount,
Here is al-Husain nearing his end
While you drink of cool water?!
By Allah! Such is not a deed
At all enjoined by my creed!
- Imam Al-Abbas (as), the son of Imam Ali (as), when he picked up water in his hand and was about to drink it but then he remembered the thirst of his brother al-Hussain (as)

Hazrat Abbas (as) was given a horse named “Uqab” (Eagle).
Shia sources say that this horse was used by Muhammad (saws) and Ali (as) and that this horse was presented to Muhammad by the King of Yemen, Saif ibn Zee Yazni, through Abdul Muttalib.
The king considered the horse to be very important, and its superiority over other horses was evident by the fact that its genealogical tree was also maintained. It was initially named “Murtajiz”, which comes from the Arabic name “Rijiz” meaning thunder (lightning).
