Since I can't sleep,

I just drove around my neighborhood for a little bit.

Took out money from the bank, filled the gas tank half way, got some breakfast, parked on the correct side for alternate side of the street parking.

My mom should leave me the car more often. I really like driving.

I was drumming on the wheel to some song by Phil Collins.

Then “Whenever, Wherever” by Shakira came on, which I knew when I was like… 11. So I was like “AWWWWH MAYYYYYYNE” and had to blast it.

I can’t wait until my stepdad gets me the car we’re going to share (but it’s really going to be mine).

He’s debating on two different cars.

Some Mazda (I believe this one) -

The above is the Inifinti G37 coupe. I think it’s beautiful. Lol.

I was very, VERY surprised he said this car because to be perfectly honest, I don’t deserve such a nice car. I was thinking a beat up one, like my dad’s 1998 Nissan Altima. Lol. But my stepdad rather me be safe than sorry, so he’s getting me a new one. I said “Cool. Like a Nissian” because my mom has that one. He said No. I was like o.O WHAT. WHY.

I’m really going to treat this car amazing. I don’t deserve it.

40 Easy, Quick and Rewarding Good Deeds!

1. Earn a thousand good deeds in Minutes

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “Is anyone of you incapable of earning one thousand Hasanah (rewards) a day?” Someone from the gathering asked, “How can anyone of us earn a thousand Hasanah?” Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “Glorify Allah a hundred times by just saying “Subhanallah” and a Good deeds will be written for you, or a thousand sins will be wiped away.” (Muslim 4:2073)

2. One of the Rare Treasures of Paradise

Hadhrat Abu Dharr [Ra] narrated that Rasulallah [Saw] said: “Should I not tell you of one treasure of the unlimited treasures of Paradise?” I replied spontaneously “Oh Rasulallah (Peace be upon him) that would be an honour indeed!” Rasulallah (Saw) said: “That rare treasure is LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH.” (“The strength to do good and to refrain from evil comes from the grace and mercy of Allah!”) -(Ibn Majah)

Hadrat Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that "my beloved friend” (the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) has enjoined five things upon me. He has commanded me to love and be close to the poor and the downtrodden, and he has commanded me to look at those in the world who are of lower rank than me, and not at those who are of higher rank, and he has commanded me to be kind to the kinsman and to preserve and keep intact the bond of kinship, and he has commanded me not to ask for anything from anyone as a favour and he has commanded me to speak the truth at all times though it may be bitter for others, and he has commanded me to care nothing for the rebuke of those who revile and villify in the path of Allah, and he has commanded me to recite much the Kalima of: Laa Hawla wa laa Qawwuta Illaa Billah (there is no power or strength but in Allah) because all these things are from the treasure-house (of Allah) which is under the ninth heaven. (Ahmad)

3. A Date Palm planted in Paradise for the one who Recites this

Hadhrat Jaa'bir [Ra] narrated that Rasulallah(Peace be upon him) said: “For the person who recites SUB-HAN'ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BI-HAM'DIHI, [Pure and perfect is Allah in his glory and praise], - A date palm will be planted for him in Paradise” (Tirmidhi)

Another Narration says:

4. Forgiveness for Sins Even Though they are like the Foam of the Sea:

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allaahi Wa bihamdihi, {Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise}. One hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #414)

5. We Can Earn Over a BILLION Rewards in Just a Few Seconds!

Narrated ‘Ubaadah that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.” (Tabarrani)

This is Dania (blue hijabi).

Today, she bought me to the Dr. Betty Shabazz Award Ceremony.

Dr. Shabazz is the widow of El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, also known as Malcolm X.

The award ceremony was given by the Women In Islam, Inc.

The women accepting the awards are all Muslim women, making a difference.

It was really wonderful hearing their speeches. Such inspirations, truly.

Later, we went to the masjid to see if there were any left over people from “One Ummah, One Flag” and to our surprise, there was.

It was great meeting new sisters.

OH. And I wore hijab all day. Such a great feeling, but so weird taking it off /:

On the bus coming home today, I wasn’t hearing hijab but I was still wearing my maxi skirt and my long sleeve white shirt. I had my scarf draped over my shoulders. I didn’t notice, but there was a man sitting behind me. He wasn’t old, maybe mid-twenties. I pulled the yellow wire for my next stop. As I waited to get off, he gently taps my shoulder. I turn around and he goes “Excuse me, miss, I mean no harm… I wanted to tell you that not only are you beautiful but your outfit is great. Not short at all, very modest and elegant. You are how women should be. I can tell you are very classy. Please, remain that way. Have a great night."

I was BEAMING. I said thank you so many times and I felt so beautiful. My self esteem rose a bit just hearing that. So, thank you kind man on the bus for those lovely words. I’ll be making dua'a for you tonight.

How To Love (Cover) || Demi Lovato

See I had a lot of crooks try to steal my heart. Never really had luck, couldn’t ever figure out how to love. See I had a lot of moments that didn’t last forever. Now, I’m in this corner tryna put it together, how to love. See I just want you to know that I deserve the best. I’m beautiful. I’m beautiful. And I want you to know, I’m far from the usual.

He is a Chief Master Sergeant in the USAF serving in Afghanistan. As high as you can go in enlisted ranks (E-9). Wouldn’t it be fitting if this went completely around the world? John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head… but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John ’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing. He is a real Star of the war, and represents what the combined service is trying to do.
This, my friends, is worth sharing. So, go for it! You’ll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. The world needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we’re doing over there is making a difference. There aren’t many soldiers in Afghanistan or Iraq who are like John Gebhardt, but Thank God there is at least one and here’s proof.

I've had a quote book for a very long time.

There’s no front cover.

The back looks like it’s been eaten by rare animals.

The string(s) that hold the pages together are coming out.

So I decided to make a new one (but of course, keeping the old one for memories and time).

The new book is REALLY big and I need more quotes to fill it.

My almost 600 followers - share your favorite quotes with me. Either in a reply or my ask box.

Please? :)

I wish I was more educated on the whole Palestinian/Israeli Conflict.

But I’m not.

I go by what I know and see from Tumblr. How cruel and inhumane the Israelis are & how they’re doing to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to them.

But I don’t know why this is going on or how it happened.

I should start some research.

Wow, I look horrible today.

I showered last night & my hair looked pretty good.

Then, I go out in the humidity - and now, it looks greasy and is a huge mess.

I’m kind of grateful I didn’t meat Omar today the way I look. I mean, if we DO get married, he’s going to have to get used to me looking like an ugly beast when we’re not going out… but still. First impressions always last in your head, y'know?

I need to write a research paper. Donate your research paper topics I should consider here :)

So far, I have:

  • The LGBT Community (very broad but I’m not looking into detail just yet)
  • Adoption! (Cuz I have first hand perspective)
  • The role of Barbies/feminine toys on young girls

I was considering the Palestinian/Israeli Conflict but it’s too controversial and I feel like I won’t be fair. I’ll be very biased.

Your ideas are needed!

Drop ‘em in my ASK BOX, please!

When Harry Left Hogwarts || Documentary

Mama seems calm, very calm. And stepdad wants to take me to OccupyWallSt.

I came home around 7pm and my mom was… okay, oddly enough. She said we would talk tomorrow and I should figure out what I want to do. She doesn’t want me to be silent when she talks to me. She actually wants to have a conversation, not a one-way lecture. I have three books I’m giving to her. One will be very helpful and maybe, MAYBE she’ll understand a little better. It’s written by a devout Christian woman. I bought it a while ago for myself, with no intention of giving it to anyone. It’s called “Daughters of Another Path: American Women Converting to Islam”. It’s written by a therapist, she has an M.D. in Education Guidance and Counseling. This author wrote books on Christianity for education resources geared toward children, women and families. She traveled with Christian ministries and what not. Her commitment to her religion as a Christian helped in her struggle to reconcile with her daughter’s choice to convert to Islam. She shares her story in the book as well as other American women and their choice. I’m definitely giving that to her as well as “Christ in Islam”.

I’m hoping it helps me out and let’s her see she isn’t the only devout Christian mother with a Muslim daughter. I didn’t throw anything Islamically related away. A few hijabs I never wear and one of my books I’m giving to Hadeel. The rest of my books are in a box inside another box covered by my summer clothes ;) SLICK NIK, BRO.

Now, the other night, I mentioned that my dad thinks everyone protesting at OccupyWallSt. is a low life with no job.

When I got home, my stepdad told me he wants to take me to the protest. I was like “YOU WHAT?! DO YOU AGREE WITH THEM?!” and he said “Yes, absolutely, I do.” I was like “PRAISE THE LORD. Someone with a right mind!” I told him what my dad said and my stepdad said he isn’t paying close enough attention. I mentioned the police brutality going on (and he also said there’s always two sides. There’s no reason for them to mace people for no reason - but in a group like that, you need to know that there’s going to be those assholes who throw shit and get themselves in trouble along with the rest of the group. Understandable). I spoke about the Brooklyn Bridge thing. He said (again) that my dad was stupid because it isn’t just low lives, although there may be a few or what society says is a low life - it’s people with jobs that aren’t being paid fairly, it’s people who went to 5+ years of college, people who hold doctrines and still can’t get a job, it’s college students who are in over $10k of debt and want to leave school because they’re afraid they can’t get a job. PRAISE YOU, STEPFATHER. I mentioned my situation. He said it was a perfect example. He said the cops are handling this horribly because in this country, we have the right to protest so what the fuck is the big deal with the 700+ arrests? They’re making it into one.

Maybe, I’ll go this weekend ;) I’ll let you guys know and I will definitely be snapping pictures left and right. Also, video so I have self-evident proof of any brutality.

I really hope tomorrow goes well with my mom. I refuse to speak to her if she yells like a damn maniac.
