So I just finished Illuminae and if you need ANOTHER voice telling you the hype is real for this book, consider this that voice.

That said, I know both authors’ names obviously, but I glanced at the author blurbs in the back and was startled to realize that Kristoff is the author of the Lotus War trilogy. I have that trilogy. Excellent, books by at least one of the authors to tide me over until the sequel comes out.

Oh, and I was holding back buying Illuminae because it isn’t my usual buy, but I’ll need a copy of my own. lol

Questions to answer:

1) What was your favorite book of 2015?

I can’t pick just one (and I’m taking it to mean that I read, not just what was published in 2015) so:

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

2) How many books have you read so far in 2016?

3) Do you have more than one copy of any book?

I have 5 copies of Alice in Wonderland (I collect them)

3 copies of Dracula (I’m probably gonna collect them)

I have 3 copies of Clockwork Prince (one didn’t match the rest of the series so I bought it again) and City of Heavenly Fire (same reason) and then 2 copies of the rest of TMI and TID because I had the original covers and then I bought the new ones too because they’re prettier

4) If you could pick any book to have a perfect movie/tv show adaptation, what would it be?

Lisey’s Story by Stephen King. That book is a part of my soul

5) Your favorite brotp?

Magnus, Ragnor and Raphael in The Mortal Instruments

Raphael, Lily and Elliott in The Mortal Instruments

Harry, Ron and Hermione in Harry Potter

I feel like I’m forgetting something major

6) Your favorite otp?

Raphael and Simon in The Mortal Instruments

7) What’s a book you don’t like that most people do?

I guess The Hobbit? I liked the story but I found reading it to be really dull. I sort of want to say All the Bright Place by Jennifer Niven but I don’t think it’s that I don’t like it, more like I read it during a reading slump so I really struggled to get through it. I’ll probably reread it one day

8) What’s one book you wish you could forget and read again for the first time?

Harry Potter! I don’t even remember reading it for the first time anymore. Also maybe The Dark Tower by Stephen King, but it’s probably best I can’t do that because that series killed me

9) If you could live in any fantasy world, what would it be?

The Mortal Instruments. I want to be in the New York vampire clan

10) Who would you pick to be your sidekick?

I’d say Raphael Santiago, but I’d be his sidekick. So, Simon Lewis XD

11) Favorite book to move/tv show adaptation?

Horns by Joe Hill

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

My questions under the cut!

Just finished the fantastic Illuminae by @amiekaufmanauthor @jay_kristoff !! This book was absolutely fantastic. I was a little weary of reading from such an unconventional format at first, but the story was phenomenal and I can’t remember the last time I read a book that was so intriguing. October 8th needs to come immediately! I’m so unbelievably happy I gave this book a chance and if you haven’t picked it up yet, I sincerely recommend it!!

Il mondo è pazzo, decisamente pazzo.
Le cose buone, ingrassano. Le cose belle, costano. Il sole che ti illumina il viso, fa venire le rughe. E tutte le cose veramente belle di questa vita, spettinano.
Fare l’amore, spettina.
Ridere a crepapelle, spettina.
Viaggiare, correre, tuffarti in mare, spettina.
Toglierti i vestiti, spettina.
Baciare la persona che ami, spettina.
Giocare, spettina.
Cantare fino a restare senza fiato, spettina.
The universe owes you nothing. It has already given you everything, after all. It was here long before you, and it will go on long after you. The only way it will remember you is to do something worth remembrance.
—  Amie Kaufman, Illuminae
