Does it feel good, knowing you tried? Knowing that all that remains Is the slow, cold, brutal death Of the fools that will all die in vain? How does it feel, knowing your efforts will fail? All that you’ve built will be torn down The hope of your people assailed
Send your guardians, they will fail Legends and heroes will crumble and fall You will not prevail When allied together, a threat men display Divide them with doubt, it will all wash away One spark can incite their hope And ignite the hearts of their weary souls I will extinguish that flame
Form your armies, dream your dreams Make your plans and plot your schemes Send your fighters, one and all Then in battle Watch Them Fall
It was you who ended their lives Made them to dig their own graves With your dark, sick, cruel design Convinced them their world could be saved Have you no shame, signing them up for your war? Train them to fight what they can’t beat Your sins are what they’ll pay for
Sacrifice them for your needs Slaughter is coming, the end drawing near You’ll regret your deeds Legends and fairy tales scattered in time Maidens and kingdoms wrapped up in a lie These children you mislead You’ll watch them all bleed Strength will not bring victory
Divide them, tear them apart Sever their trust, it will strangle their hearts Inside them, plant seeds of doubt Hope will be smothered They’ll turn on each other Hatred will sprout, suspicion and doubt Friendships deny while allegiances die The taste will be sweet when you get what you’ve earned And I’ll watch you burn

god if i had time to write meta i would but i don’t so i’ll just say
to be honest, the trope of the creation of one’s own worst enemy is one of my favorites and it has been the major theme of the entirety of teen wolf so far. peter hale created is own worst enemy when he created scott mccall because scott is his antithesis in every way - whereas peter is selfish and manipulative and cruel, scott mccall genuinely cares for people and is willing to put others before himself and has good intentions. scott’s moral qualities are of the type peter hale could only dream of.
that’s why i have always wanted teen wolf to loop by to this central question of peter vs. scott because peter won’t rest until the power is in his hands and his alone and that can’t happen with scott around. peter will not and literally cannot be content while scott is still around and that’s why whenever we had villain questions, peter made such a good candidate.
scott is the ultimate hero and peter is the ultimate villain and the fact that peter created scott and created his own roadblock to power make the story so much better
1) You were the reason I bettered myself, and had a reason to believe in a future, to cling onto hope and positivity. But now you are the one who makes me loath having to think of the future, even if it’s just tomorrow.
2) You were the clear skies within my sunny days, giving my heart a warmth at the mere sound of your voice. Now you are tornado, whose words only destroys my mind.
3) You were the dreams I yearned for at night. The bliss of being able to escape far away from reality with you and solely you and now you are the cruel truth that follows me wherever I go.
4) You were the chance I had never been given. The light at the end of the tunnel, making sure my bad days will finally end. Now you’re nothing but shaking hands and darkness all around.
5) You were the reason I woke up in the mornings and loved the smell of coffee and messy sheets, because it reminded me of another day of you. Now you’re nothing but late night screaming from the nightmares you’ve filled me up with.
6) You were the blonde hair blue eyed boy tumblr warned me about. The crystal drug that had me addicted and wanting me of your sweetness, but now I’m addicted and i don’t have any more of you.
7) You were the sunsets that left me breathless, because every sunset was different, just like every smile you’ve ever given me. Now your just the sun behind the clouds that I can never see again,
8) You were the deep sighs and relaxed fists that never were clenched, all the loose hair and goosebumps on my skin, the hidden smiles behind handsbut you’re now nothing more then arms wrapped around my lungs, hands breaking my bones.
9) You were the stars in my universe, leaving me in awe at the beauty you filled me up with, making me fill more then just a speck in light years of nothingness. Now you are just a black hole swallowing me whole.
10) You were the love of my life, the keeper of my secrets, the friend I could always count on, the person I wanted to share everything and nothing with all at the same time, now you’re just a person with memories.
10 things you used to be to me that I will never be able to tell you not that you care anymore.
Voice toneless, Ronan said, “Sometimes I dream of wasps.” Adam imagined it then: Ronan waking in Monmouth Manufacturing, a dream object clutched in his hands, wasps crawling in his bedsheets, Gansey unaware in the other room.
“Aren’t you afraid you’ll get hurt out here by yourself?” Adam asked. Ronan scoffed. Him, fear for his own life. But there was something in his eyes, still.
He studied his hands and admitted, “I’ve dreamt him a box of EpiPens. I dream cures for stings all the time. I carry one. I put them in the Pig. I have them all over Monmouth.”
Adam felt a ferocious and cruel hope. “Do they work?”
“I don’t know. And there’s no way to find out before it actually happens. There won’t be a rematch.” (Blue Lily, Lily Blue - Maggie Stiefvater)
“Listen. This is just a dream. Very clever people can hear dreams, so please, just listen. I know you’re afraid, but being afraid is alright, because didn’t anyone ever tell you fear is a super power. Fear can make you faster, and cleverer and stronger and one day, you’re going to come back to this barn and on that day, you’re going to be very afraid indeed. But that’s OK, because if you’re very wise and very strong, fear doesn’t have to make you cruel or cowardly. Fear can make you kind. It doesn’t matter if there’s nothing under the bed, or in the dark, so long as you know it’s okay to be afraid of it. So listen. If you listen to nothing else, listen to this. You’re always going to be afraid, even if you learn to hide it. Fear is like…a companion. A constant companion, always there. But that’s okay, because fear can bring us together. Fear can bring you home.”
It wasn’t that James didn’t understand the people. If he’d been one of them, he would have rioted, too. Even he knew that his father was a bad king, a cruel and capricious one, and lazy on top. His taxes were way too high and people were starving. James, of course, had planned to do it all differently once he became king, but it didn’t seem like that dream would ever become reality. Not with hundreds of people storming the castle, dragging nobles and servants alike out of their rooms and taking them straight down to the dungeons. He’d been with his mother when it happened, and they’d ran as fast as they could but she’d been too slow in her heavy dress and James had to leave her behind. So next, he went to find Alex. There were no emergency plans for a situation like this, and so he went to the only place he could imagine his brother would feel safe in. The library. There were angry shouts echoing from the walls of the corridor as he ran, and he prayed they wouldn’t reach him. Finally, the doors to the library were in sight, and with a last effort, he pulled one of them open and locked it behind himself, panting. “Alex? Alex, are you here? We have to go!”
Listen. This is just a dream. But very clever people can hear dreams - so please, just listen. I know you’re afraid. But being afraid is alright. Because didn’t anyone ever tell you? Fear is a superpower. Fear can make you faster, and cleverer, and stronger. And one day, you’re gonna come back to this barn. And on that day, you’re going to be very afraid indeed. And that’s okay. Because if you’re very wise, and very strong, fear doesn’t have to make you cruel or cowardly. Fear can make you kind.

You’re always gonna be afraid. Even if you learn to hide it. Fear it like… a companion. A constant companion, always there. But that’s okay. Because fear can bring us together. Fear can bring you home. I’m gonna leave you something, just so you remember.
Fear can make companions of us all.
“I have known many high lords,” Amren continued, studying her paper, “Cruel ones, cunning ones, weak ones, powerful ones. But never one that dreamed. Not as he does.”
“Dreams of what?” I breathed.
“Of peace. Of freedom. Of a world united, a world thriving. Of something better—for all of us.”
“He thinks he’ll be remembered as the villain in the story.”
“But I forgot to tell him,” I said quietly, opening the door, “that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key.”
I shrugged. "He was the one who let me out.“
Overlooked Disney Scenes: The Temptation of Tiana + The Death of Facilier.
Temptation of Tiana.
I think I can say without a doubt this is probably one of the best scenes within the entire film. And as far as villain traps go it’s one of the most cruel out there. This is a Man who can literally make your dreams happen right before your very eyes. And playback every insecurity you have about yourself to your face like it was a bonus featurette on a dvd. Could you imagine the type of things you would agree too when seeing all of that? But I am getting ahead of myself, this scene is shows us two things who Tiana is, and how deliciously evil Dr. Facilier is.
Just give it a quick watch, and look at her face when she sees her restaurant. Or to be more precise the one she always dreamed she and her father would have. The animation of body language throughout this entire scene is just flawless. Just look at her expressions and reactions from thinking Naveen was in the room and then transitioning to seeing “The shadow man”. Or just seconds after look at how she reacts to those flashbacks of people putting her down. Her entire change in body language when she re hears the man say “A woman of your background”. I have seen that face she is wearing when she thinks about that moment, because I have worn it several times. Working in customer service you get a lot of jerks who make stupid sly comments about your race (I need to learn english, son you’re not an american, etc etc), from people who are in a position of power over you simply due to circumstance. The best you can do is just take it when you hear it. But thinking about that moment later can eat you up, and for Tiana it clearly does. This is all emotional manipulation to the highest degree and Facilier thinks he is playing her like a puppet. Get her mad, and then hit her where it hurts the most. Her memories of her Father.
That’s just what Facilier does too. All the while commenting on how her father worked his whole life to support his family only to end up with a busted dream. True to his twisted nature he delivers his last line that sends chills down my arm “Come on Tiana, you’re almost there”. That line was her entire mission statement. It was her I want song, the one that reminded her that all of her hard work was finally going to pay off. At this moment in the film she knows those men aren’t going to sell her the place anymore. She isn’t almost there, but with Facilier’s offer she just might be. And what does she do? She realizes what’s just as important as getting your ultimate dream? Having people you can share it all with whether that’s family, friends, or even romantically. “Daddy never did get what he wanted, but he had what he needed”. That’s the whole point to this film, as Mama Odie puts it “What you want and you what you need are 2 different things”. Having a dream is important, having people who you can share that with is even more important. Because what good is a giant restaurant when you have no one to invite to eat? Tiana realizes just that and despite the massive amount of manipulation she goes through in this scene. She throws her chance of being human and of getting her dream all away because it was the right thing to do. It wasn’t the easy way, but it was the right way.
And that is essentially who Tiana is. She takes no shortcuts, she doesn’t cheat to get ahead, she does what is right because integrity is important to her. She is a role model through and through and really is one of Disney’s best.
I’ve been having the craziest, most vivid dreams of my life the past few weeks.
About a week ago I dreamt I was a proud mother (um, what?) attending my daughter’s 5th grade Show and Tell. She brought in eight cages of infected lab rats to explain to her classmates how cruel it is to experiment on animals for science. Her father, she said, was one of the people who test out chemicals on rats. Then, in an effort to prove that animals are compassionate towards people, she opened all eight cages, setting free the ravenous, deranged, rabies-infected rats, which ended up attacking many of the little kids in her class. One of the students dropped his book bag on a rat to kill it, another punted a rat across the room, and the whole time my daughter stood at the front of the room, screaming at everyone to stop hurting the gentle creatures.
A few days ago I dreamt that I was going to propose to my girlfriend at a Red Robin on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. Super classy.
Then last night I had a dream that began in the middle of an intense war zone in an impoverished Brazilian village. Bombs were being dropped on us and we (Shannon, some soldiers, and I) crept around the town, which had been fortified with complex systems of bomb-proof underground tunnels, trying to locate a safe room to make camp in. Along the way, the soldiers, who were natives of the village, showed us the cafeteria they had built underground, with all of its sun windows boarded up with wooden planks. A woman was lying on a hospital cot near the kitchen. She was pregnant and screaming for a doctor. We realized she was bleeding and it was only after careful inspection that I discovered she had ripped her IV out of her wrist in her hysteria. I told her the doctors were coming to deliver the baby, but I knew they weren’t. Then suddenly we were in an arcade, also being bombed, and the only way I could keep Shannon safe was to collect power ups (that very closely resembled the power ups in Jetpack Joyride) as they appeared randomly on the four interior walls of the arcade.
Sooooo, I think someone might be putting shrooms in my feeding tube.
