if you know which one i'm talking about

  • Lily: All men are dogs.
  • Remus: *staring at Sirius* Some more than others.
  • Sirius: Do wolves count as dogs?
  • Peter: I'm not a dog.
  • James: No, I see you more as a rat.
  • Lily: I don't know where this conversation has gone.
  • Friend: What's wrong
  • Me: I'm just upset that Twelve and Nine have so much less merch than Ten and Eleven because they were both amazing and while Nine only had one season he still deserves appreciation and Twelve's seasons were awesome especially series 10 which was so much more diverse than Doctor Who has ever been and I just don't understand why it has to be like this
  • Friend: What the hell are you talking about
  • Naruto: So, like, ever since Hinata confessed to me, people have been like- ya know
  • Sasuke: Hn
  • Naruto: And I'm just- I don't, like, I can't- ya know
  • Naruto: But I should, right? There's no reason I shouldn't, uh, ya kn-
  • Sasuke: Dobe, if you say "ya know" one more time
  • Naruto: I can't help it, I'm just so, so, ya know!
  • Sasuke: Why are you talking to me about this, idiot?
  • Naruto: You're the only one who hasn't said anything, ya know. Sakura-chan, Kakashi, Ino, Iruka, even Kiba have been on my case non-stop.
  • Sasuke: It's your life. Your choice. Do what you want. It makes no difference to me.
  • Naruto: But, but Sasuke, I'm just so... Ya know.
  • Sasuke: Fine, usuratonkachi. We'll talk.
  • Sasuke: Do you think she's pretty?
  • Naruto: Eto... *squints* I guess so.
  • Naruto: Actually, now that you mention it, Hinata's kind of a looker, huh
  • Naruto: But she's still not as pretty as- *glances over* Uh, other people.
  • Sasuke: Like who? Sakura?
  • Naruto: Yeah, Sakura-chan and... Someone else
  • Sasuke: ...
  • Sasuke: So the problem is that you have feelings for another person
  • Naruto: *blushes* Um... I guess, but I doubt you- I mean, this other person will ever, ya know, feel the same way, so I should just
  • Sasuke: Have you said anything?
  • Naruto: Well, no
  • Naruto: But after everything that happened, you- I mean, this person should get it by now, and if y- they don't, that probably means it's one-sided. Right?
  • Sasuke: Maybe
  • Naruto: Oh
  • Sasuke: Unless I -I mean, this 'other person' was thinking the same way as you
  • Naruto: Really? You Were?
  • Sasuke: Were what? I'm talking about this mysterious 'other person' who's apparently prettier than Hyuuga Hinata, which is -mmmphmm!
  • Sasuke: What was that, you moron?
  • Naruto: It's called a kiss, teme.
  • Naruto: Something two people do when they like each other.
  • Sasuke: ...
  • Sasuke: I'm not familiar with the concept.
  • Sasuke: Maybe you should show me again.

ONE MORE because people think they’re so smug when they point this out but whenever I see someone going like ooomg ur style hasn’t changed in x months/years!! I laugh bc yeah congrats on noticing, I like drawing in this style so generally speaking it will improve but look the “”same”” to you, I don’t feel the need to be inconsistent and jump styles all the time lmao

(not to mention whenever people say this stuff they usually expect artists to “step up” and draw everything in a realistic/more detailed style which is not something I’m usually into and really disrespectful to cartoon artists)

what I’ve /actually/ been trying to change/get better at is anatomy, the general movement and flow, and I know it’s been getting better

so I don’t need you to tell me what /you/ think I should be changing, I CAN draw in other styles, I simply use this one because it’s what makes me happy

so miss me with all that bullshit

One time I saw a post here on tumblr where someone said that every bisexual they’ve ever met does finger-guns and as I truly contemplated that statement, reflecting on myself, I thought “I don’t do finger guns…” then, yesterday, I was washing my hands in the bathroom, thinking about I don’t even know what and I realized that I do the noise that goes with finger guns.  I froze, looked up at myself in the mirror and realized I do use finger guns except I only do one and I felt oddly validated in my sexuality. the end.

advice for the signs
  • aries: you're full of ideas and they're always amazing! you are so much smarter than you give yourself credit for, even though you try to appear like you're a bit of a daredevil, you don't always like to come too far out of your cozy little comfort zone. but I promise, if you come out a bit more you can experience so many exciting things, and your abilities will make you shine like a star in the night sky.
  • taurus: not only are you are a badass, you're also super cool. if there are any haters its only because they want to be like you - really though. you just have an aura about you that pulls people in and once they get to know you, they don't ever want to get away. people want to overindulge in you, and if that wears you out then take a break and don't feel bad about it, your friends know you'll come back at the end of the day.
  • gemini: you're not a two-faced backstabbing bitch, you are a beautiful person who struggles with having to listen to an angel and a devil on your shoulders all day, which I can only imagine is super tough but you've done an incredible job to even come all this way and you should be so proud of yourself, I know I am. and lets take a moment to appreciate how you can walk into a room and suddenly be everyone's best friend with your natural charm and easy-going nature. you could take a bullet in the chest and your smile won't even falter. you're so determined to get what you want and you're so passionate and just everything you do is admirable. keep going, you rock this world.
  • cancer: if we're being real here, you don't actually cry *that* much. this is what it is - you have so many emotions swirling inside of you and they are like a beautiful storm of bright lights. and you should continue to let that out and share that beauty with everyone! but even with all that, you can be pretty hardcore and you are so strong, inside that whirlpool is a fire than burns bright, you should show people your intense passions as well as your caring side.
  • leo: you are amazing, and everyone around you knows it. if you're being too hard on yourself, lighten up a little because so far you've done everything right. everything happens for a reason, and if you feel guilty or sad about something just remember that your experiences have shaped who you are today - a beautiful, wonderful, magical creature with sparkling eyes, a loving soul and fabulous hair.
  • virgo: you work so hard to be on top of the game and I know how stressful that can be, but trust me when I'm saying that if you're doing the best you can, please don't push yourself any further. I'm sure you know what it feels like to get 3 hours sleep only to just scrape everything in on time, but you're doing just fine and please remember to reach out to your friends and loved ones and talk about how youre feeling. honestly, letting out any negativity makes you feel so, so much better, and you deserve the best.
  • libra: it's not that you're indecisive, you just like to weigh out all the pros and cons of a situation before you go into something - which is such a good idea, and I admire you for that. I bet you wish you had a crystal ball and could see the future to know how your decisions will turn out, huh? but the reality is that you should stop worrying about about the future and live in the moment. if you're not focusing on the present, you won't get to where you want to be in the future, and we definitely don't want to see you somewhere where your talents aren't being showcased.
  • scorpio: your personality is just so magnetic and you're so hypnotic, so many people absolutely adore you and would do anything for you - but sometimes they might not be 100% certain that the feelings are mutual. now, I know you love your friends and family so, so much with a fiercely strong love, but would it kill you to tell people that you love them and how you're feeling sometimes? everyone is here to help you and guide you on your journey to reaching the stars, but you can't build your rocket ship without the help of others.
  • sagittarius: you are incredible and so smart, it actually makes people stop in their tracks when you open your mouth and spout some beautiful, philosophical words of wisdom. or even just opening your mouth to say anything. everything about you is great but I'm not sure you appreciate yourself as much as you should. all the friends you have who love you should be an indication of how great you are. if you don't learn to love yourself, you might not be able to see through and out of your own little bubble and actually notice how much people care about you. because they care so, so much. don't you ever doubt that.
  • capricorn: your motto is work hard and don't take shortcuts, which is amazing and everyone admires you for that. it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be you, and even if nobody mentions it, everyone is impressed. you're gonna go far, kid. but know that even if you're stuck in a rut right now you just need to jump a little higher and climb out. if you're stressed, talk to someone you trust and just open up and tell them what youre feeling. help them help you, and everything will be okay.
  • aquarius: we're not emotionless, we have a lot of feelings and we just choose not to express them because we're scared of people being overwhelmed by us, and we like to trust someone 100% before we open up. and there is nothing wrong with that. you're so good at listening to people's problems/how they feel and your advice is 10/10, but if you don't take time to talk to people about how you're feeling, you bottle everything up and one day it'll get so full that the lid will burst - and I know you're afraid of letting out all your feelings in one go, I definitely am. the only way around that is to let it out, bit by bit, slowly and over the years, to maintain your composure and sanity. and nobody will see you any different or judge you if you open up to them.
  • pisces: you're passionate, your creativity is out of this world, you're so good at helping people and you don't have a selfish bone in your body. you're always so up for helping people, and that is amazing! you're compassionate like no other, and your ideas are off-the-charts crazy cool. and you're not weak! you are perfectly capable of putting up your barriers, you just like to trust people enough to keep them down a lot of the time. and you're definitely not weak either, you've probably lived through some heartbreaking experiences, and you're still able to walk around with your head up and your heart open. now thats real strength.
DEH Characters As Things My Friends Said At The Mall
  • Jared: No, I'm not hitting on you, I was talking about cannibalism.
  • Connor: I hate everything. What triggered it? I'm sitting in a crowded food court full of humans. What do you think triggered it?
  • Evan: I didn't know what to order when the waiter came so I just picked something and this is way too spicy but I'm going to eat it anyway.
  • Alana: We're getting weird looks. What did we do? I mean, I know we did a lot of things, I just want to know which one specifically people are staring at.
  • Zoe: Should I save this half a cup of ice cream for my brother? I know it's melted, but he's not picky.
  • Heidi: No, I'm paying for the ice-cream because I feel bad.
  • Larry: I have no idea where my family is, but if you really want to find them I can help.
  • Cynthia: Well, I'd rather just not say the Asian word than butcher it to death. The waiter got what I mean.
No one ever talks about abusive friendships so I'm going to and you better pay attention because this is important

People know all about abusive relationships- how to spot the signs, how to leave, etc. But no one ever talks about abusive friendships, which can be just as damaging and often is. It’s also a more dangerous trap because people don’t even realize that they’re actually being abused by their friends

I’m writing this post based off of my own experiences and what I’ve seen in others’. Feel free to add anything you might find relevant upon reblogging, because you could seriously help someone.

The vast majority of my ‘friendships’ have been abusive to me (as much as I hate to admit that), and it’s a horrible experience that I never want anyone else to live through.

I just want to add the things one should look for so no one else has to deal with the same bullshit I always did:

  • You’d rather be by yourself than hang out with that person (NOT the same feeling as being drained because you’re an introvert- you just really don’t want to hang out with that person specifically)
  • You have to always be on guard and watch what you say because your friend might bitch you out or get irrationally angry
  • He/she/zhe insults you and tries to pass it off as “I’m just saying…” or “I’m just trying to help you”
  • Seeing their name on your caller I.D. puts the fear of God in you because you’re not sure whether they’ll be kind or ready to tear at you for some unknown reason when you pick it up.
  • You’re always there when they have problems, but when it comes down to YOUR problems they brush them off as unimportant, give shitty, half-asses advice (when it’s easy to tell they just don’t care), or turn it around to make it about them and effectively have a “my problems are more important than yours so shut up” moment
  • They insult the things you find joy in (yes, this includes fandoms) but heaven forbid you show any distain for something they like, even if you only respectfully disagree- you MUST like what they like OR ELSE YOU’RE STUPID!
  • They tell other people your secrets or tell other people your worst personality traits and basically talk smack about you. Which prevents others from wanting to be your friend.
  • They ask for your advice/opinion and then get mad when you give it
  • They insult your family for really insignificant reasons or for no reason at all (I’m not even kidding guys. It can get out of hand. I had a friend who constantly insulting my parents and my brother and even said my mother couldn’t cook worth shit. Rude.)
  • Say you are unable to do things because they “know you” and use that as an excuse to say you can’t do something you want to do. “You can’t do that, you’re too short LOL” yeah fuck you too asshole
  • You’re afraid that if you end the friendship they will go into Bitch Mode and tell all your darkest secrets and talk crap about you to everyone.
  • You have reason to believe that their Bitch Face is actually their True Face
  • They can’t seem to find anything to talk about except talking crap about other people and expecting you to agree with them (my 'best friend’ insulted another friend of mine, who I had ASKED OUT ONCE and was quite fond of, and got mad at me when I said anything in her defense.)
  • The previous point leads me to the one where they insult your other friends.
  • THEY ALWAYS TRY TO PIN THEIR PROBLEMS ON YOU EVEN IF YOU HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Usually this happens after they ask for your “advice” and then blame you for everything later or make another problem out of YOUR OPINION.
  • They consistently use the wrong pronouns (if you’re trans*- and this doesn’t include times when they have to use the wrong pronouns because of safety reasons for you) or out you (as LGBTQA+) at inappropriate times, and then get angry when you call them out on it- “but it’s obvious you’re gay anyway, so why does it matter?” “It’s too hard to use the right pronouns! Just deal with it!” (even though they’ve known what the correct pronouns are for MONTHS and after constant reminders)
  • And lastly if something feels off to you or you just feel upset or off-put by your 'friend’ (or GROUP OF FRIENDS in some cases) It’s a toxic friendship and it’s NOT good for you!

If you feel you’re in a toxic friendship, end it. Right now. It may hurt, the other person may throw a hissy fit and try so say YOU’RE the bad friend (you’re not!), you might not want to hurt the person’s feelings (which you shouldn’t worry too much about because they didn’t really care about your feelings, now did they?). Just end it, and don’t look back, even if you’re left completely friendless.

Being friendless is by far much healthier for you than staying with a group of toxic friends who put you down and make you feel like shit. I know that sound convoluted but it’s absolutely true.

And remember that it’s not the end of the world and that you WILL find new friends- hopefully ones who are decent human beings and you’ll have a real friendship waiting for you.

Don’t continue to just live with it. Do something about it and in the long run you will be much happier, trust me. If in reading this list you were heavily reminded of a 'friend’ I’d suggest looking at the friendship again- it’s probably toxic, and not the Brittany Spears kind.

Hi there! I have a situation and I'm not sure what to do. I just joined a D&D campaign and I'm really enjoying it. However, one of the guys in the campaign made a rape joke in the middle of the session. Everyone kind of ignored it. I don't know the guy super-well so I'm not comfortable talking to him directly, but it really made me feel like shit, especially because I have some personal experiences (which I don't wanna disclose). Should I talk to the DM about this? What do I say?

I can’t tell you what to do, or how to feel in those situations. I can only tell you what I would do.

I would talk to the DM right away, and I wouldn’t apologize for my feelings. This is one of those things that I think is pretty binary: rape jokes aren’t okay, and I don’t want to be around anyone who thinks that they are. If the DM makes excuses or isn’t willing to take your concerns seriously, I would tear my character sheet up right there and leave the group.

The problem isn’t just that this guy thought it was okay to make that joke, but that everyone at the table didn’t have a problem with it. I don’t know how far you want to take it, and what your personal red line is, but I’d talk to the DM first, and then I would ask for a moment at the beginning of the next session to address the group about it.

I would say something like, “I really enjoy this campaign, and I like being part of this group. But the last time we played, I felt really uncomfortable when a rape joke was made at the table, and nobody seemed to have a problem with it. If I’m going to continue to be part of this group, I want you to know that I’m not okay with that. Maybe you don’t know that 1 in 4 women has been sexually assaulted or raped, and maybe you don’t know that when you make those jokes or go along with those jokes, you’re communicating to the women around you that you don’t take it seriously, and that you’re subtly communicating to the men around you that rape and assault isn’t a big deal. Literally every woman I know has been sexually harassed at some point in their lives. More than half have been sexually assaulted, and I know several rape survivors. Rape jokes aren’t funny to me.

“I hope that this was a thing that was just sort of blurted out, that wasn’t considered, that doesn’t reflect your values or who you are. Like I said, I’m having a really good time being part of this campaign, but if this sort of thing is not a problem for you, I can’t be part of this, and I’m ready to leave right now if that’s the case.”

Or something like that. I think you get the gist of what I’m going for. If they minimize your feelings, get up and leave. There will always be other games to play in. If they want to deflect it minimize it, because they’re embarrassed, give them a moment to react, and see if you can engage in dialog about the realities of sexual assault for women.

I always believe that it’s worth making the effort to educate and enlighten someone, but that’s not the only way to deal with these things, but that’s absolutely not your responsibility. Their feelings aren’t your responsibility. What I’m suggesting is that you make it clear that this isn’t funny or acceptable, and that if they think it is, you’re not going to be part of the group. In a perfect world, they’ll sincerely apologize. In a perfect world, they will realize that they hadn’t seriously considered the reality of sexual assault, and they’ll own their actions.

I know that a lot of gamers read this Tumblr, and I know that a lot of women read this Tumblr. Maybe someone else has advice or experience they’d care to share with you.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with this, and I hope that it’s resolved in a way that lets you continue to play in the campaign, and helps these dudes grow a level in humanity.

Me, enjoying my new fixation: This is my favorite thing and I can talk about it for hours

Someone: Ew, why do you even like that?

Me, splitting on my new fixation: Pfft, I don’t! Don’t even know what we’re talking about, haha

  • Regina: So you're just gonna ride that deathtrap of a motorcycle into a portal to God knows where?
  • Henry: Relax, I'm bringing my cellphone.
  • Regina: Your cellph--do you think there's gonna be cell service wherever you're going? And even if there is, how are you gonna charge it?
  • Henry: I'll figure something out.
  • Regina: And, while we're on the topic, how far do you think you're gonna get on one tank of gas? Did you think this through at all?
  • Henry: Don't worry. Things always worked out for Grandpa and Grandma.
  • Regina: I don't know which set you're talking about but absolutely no one related to you got to even a semblance of a happy ending without enough trauma to keep a team of psychiatrists employed for years.
  • Henry: Everything's gonna be fine.
  • Regina: I think I'm having a stroke.

Is there anything you like about FMA '03 better than Brotherhood? I'm curious because everyone likes to talk about how amazing Brotherhood is compared to '03 (which by contrast is considered the worst thing in the world by some fans), but there are some really interesting aspects that I like more in '03, such as Mustang being the one to kill Winry's parents instead of Scar.

Yep!!

I think the way that FMA ‘03 handled Nina and Hughes was excellent. For those who dont know, both of them were much more heavily interwoven into the beginning of the story. Ed and Al stayed with Nina and Shou while Ed was 12 and studying for his State Alchemist exam. Ed and Al were present for Elicia’s birth, and generally were a lot more involved with Hughes.

In fact, I think that the whole “Nina and Hughes fucked everyone up” notion came from the original FMA. A lot of us were into the series before Brotherhood came out, and so watched FMA ‘03 first, and they took their damn time establishing Nina and Hughes so much more, to tear them down so much worse.

I think if you watch Brotherhood and only Brotherhood, their deaths don’t hit nearly as hard.

In fact, I think in the manga, the point of Hughes’ murder was more meant to be a “hey we’re getting serious here. named character murdered in cold blood. mustang’s motivation has been sparked.” and then FMA ‘03 made Hughes so much more central, high-lighting how goofy and lovable he was, only to cut him down. THATS evil. And very, very well done.

In general, the first ~13 episodes of FMA:B have a bit of a rushed feeling, since there was a rather large amount of recap from FMA ‘03 episodes that they assume youve watched. So in those early parts, FMA ‘03 has some real gems

ALSO THE BATTLE-ON-THE-TRAIN AND YUESWELL EPISODES. WHICH ARE CANON, IN THE MANGA, AND GOT CUT FROM BROTHERHOOD DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS. LOVE YOURSELF AND WATCH/READ THE BATTLE-ON-THE-TRAIN AND YUESWELL PARTS.

Steve calls Bucky 'his sunshine' every chance he gets. Steve getting seriously hurt and Bucky (and Steve) thinking he might not make it so Steve sings 'You Are My Sunshine' to him and I'm crying

“There’s my sunshine. Let me see that smile,” Bucky says, grinning like the jerk that he is.

Steve’s so mad he could spit and Bucky’s not helping matters. He gives Bucky the dirtiest look he can muster, which judging by the way Bucky’s eyebrows shoot up to the top of his forehead, is a pretty mean one. “Don’t be like that, Sweetheart. It’s just one 4F.”

“Those assholes don’t know what they’re talking about. I can fight. I’m fine.”

“So is it your ticker, diabetes or asthma you want them to ignore?” Bucky asks him.

“All of it. I want to fight, Buck. This isn’t right. I just want to do what’s right,” Steve’s shoulders sag as he says it. He knows he’s not as strong or healthy as a guy like Buck, but he thinks he’s more than capable of being a soldier.

Bucky seems to sense how upset he is. He wraps an arm around Steve’s shoulders and says, “You’ll get in. Next time.” His eyes say he’s lying but Steve ignores it, knowing in his heart that Bucky’s wrong. “Come on, Steve. Where’s my sunshine guy huh? Where’s that smile.”

Steve sticks his tongue out instead.

Xxx

Steve did make it, made it past basic, made it past the serum, made it into the hydra base where Bucky was and made it back to base where they’re both safe. Even after seeing medical, Bucky still looks so pale. The skin around his eyes is a little sunken. He has his own tent and gets Bucky inside it, fussed over him for a minute while Bucky settles into his bed.

“Where’s my sunshine?” Bucky asks and it makes Steve want to cry just as much as it makes him want to rip all of hydra apart with his bare hands.

“Right here,” Steve says. He gets into the cot with Bucky, squeezing their bodies tight. He runs a hand over Bucky’s cheek, all the cuts and bruises there. “What did they do to you?”

“What did they do to you?” Bucky says, mustering a tiny smile. “Look at you.”

“Buck-”

“Look at my sunshine guy. My only sunshine. Now I have to share you with the whole world.”

Steve’s breath catches in his throat, and by the time he’s ready to tell Bucky that he’ll always be his, Bucky’s already falling hard into sleep.

Xxx

He has to practically carry Bucky back to the quinjet. He knows he should take off as fast as possible, run. His mind’s screaming at him as he sets Bucky down gently.

Sam, Wanda, his friends, Tony- he was his friend too. He can’t breathe correctly, his chest rattling from what could be a punctured lung. He has to get them out of here. Where could they go? Oh god, his shield. Bucky, Bucky, Bucky-

Bucky’s eyes are barely open, his head’s lolling to the side as he slips in and out of consciousness. The pain from losing his arm again did him in. Steve can’t let himself think about how this isn’t the first time Bucky would have felt that pain. He realizes then, that he’s not going anywhere right this second. Bucky’s body heals like his, he bets. He just need to give Bucky a minute. He picks him up again and arranges his body so that Bucky can lay on his lap. He runs his fingers through Bucky’s blood-soaked hair and reaches for the closest first aid kit, getting some gauze to apply pressure.

“St-” Bucky tries, his eyelids fluttering.

“Shh,” Steve whispers. “I got you. Where’s my sunshine guy?” Steve doesn’t know what makes him say it, but when he does Bucky lets out a sigh that lets Steve know he remembers. So Steve does what Bucky did so many years ago when he was too sick to get up. He sings. “You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.”

Steve strokes Bucky’s hair the entire time. At this point he just wants Bucky to finally let everything pull him under. Steve will find them a place to stay safe. “The other night dear, when I was sleeping. I dreamt I held you in my arms. When I awoke dear, I was mistaken. So I held my head and I cried.” But Bucky’s here now, and Steve’s going to keep him safe no matter what. His eyes are drawn to something outside the quinjet window. When he looks up, he sees T’Challa.

Hi! I'm going to Guatemala soon to teach children there English. Any tips you might have to strengthen my Spanish before I go? Do you have any methods or phrases that are especially good to use when talking/teaching with children? If you have any advice on teaching language I would love to hear it❤️❤️ I love your blog!

¡Hola!
That’s awesome!

If you know already all Spanish tenses including the subjunctive, I think one of the main things you can do to strengthen your Spanish is to learn the Guatemalan slang, which they call it “chapinismo”.
Honestly, I don’t know much about chapinismo. I watched a video about the difference between Mexican and Guatemalan slang, and omg! it’s so different.
But here, I leave you some webpages with a loooot of chapinismo :)

Videos:

(Maybe the second one is a little bit more difficult to understand but maybe it can also be useful to practice listening comprehension hehe)

I also learned that they call themselves (between friends) with “vos”, not “tú”. They use “usted” in formal situations, “tú” in informal situations, and “vos” in even more informal situations. Note!: They use “tú” in conversations between a man and a woman. If a man calls another man “tú” it can be interpreted as the man is homosexual.

I also thought these songs where great: Aprender inglés cantando canciones infantiles

¡Buena suerte en Guatemala! :D
