Caught (Spencer Reid x Reader)

One shot request for @damhunterofartemis! “Spencer has a girlfriend and the team doesn’t know about her until they catch him kissing her.” Un-beta’d!
Requests are still open! :)

“Honestly, Boy Wonder, you should come out with us tonight. You need to meet someone,” Penelope said as she was scurrying around in her heels, grabbing her purse and outfit change. She, JJ, and Emily extended the Girls Night invite out to the rest of the team.

“Garcia, I appreciate the offer but trust me, I’m fine.” Spencer said, rejecting yet another invite which was met with a pout from the blonde.

Pairing: SUGA X READER

Excerpt: “Wait a second,” your eyes had begun to adjust to the poor lighting as you watched Yoongi turn to look at you in interest, “are they still trying to set us up?”

The staffroom was always quiet on Fridays, the teachers working without pause to complete all of their marking before the weekend for a welcome break. Usually, you would have been finishing off the last of your lesson plans during this time, but the tinny sound of music from headphones was distracting you. You looked across your desk at Yoongi, frowning as he nodded his head to the beat, writing notes on the song.

As an art teacher, you disliked Yoongi mainly because the art and music departments never got on. You had often shared many a heated argument about which subject was better and students would often laugh when they caught you mid-rant during a lesson.

Detecting Lies (Grayson)

A/N: I couldn’t get this idea off of my mind so hope you like this little blurb/small imagine thing I wrote in like an hour! xx

You knew it was gonna end badly when the twins had come back from the store, grinning from ear to ear as they told you and Cameron about the lie detector. Cam had given you a sideglance, knowing that this could end in two ways. But you still set up the cameras and the lights, leaving Grayson and Ethan to write down their five questions they were about to ask each other.

Cameron sat down on a barstool behind the main camera and you did the same after having switched on the two other side cameras, sighing as you took your seat next to the girl. Grayson looked at you, smiling smugly as he rubbed his hands together.

“Sit still.”

“I‘m trying,” you counter, fighting the urge to glare at Steve.

“Don’t talk,” He instructs with a click of his tongue, sounding like an impatient mother addressing a misbehaving child.

This time, you have to physically force yourself not to frown or stick your tongue out at him. The only thing that keeps you rooted in place is knowing that if you move now, Steve will have to start all over again and that’s something you don’t want. You don’t even want to be here right now, perched on a stool, trying not to move a muscle to prevent Steve from reprimanding you for the fourth time in half an hour.

This is all Bucky’s fault. He’s the one who told you to stop by the apartment even though he wasn’t there. You were unaware of that fact when you knocked on his door and were greeted by Steve, who looked a little too excited to see you.

The murder is solved, the town slowly healing, the thoughts of anything bad are being to the back of all of our heads, at least for tonight. After the Jubilee we all decide to go to Pop’s for milkshakes, and as we sit there in the moonlight we laugh at the jokes Jughead makes or just silly stuff that we see come up on Twitter.

We have way too many milkshakes, and Jughead’s arm wrapped around my shoulders, my hands around his knee that was up on the booth, and nothing seems to hurt us. As the clock strikes midnight we decided to finally get some privacy.

His trailer is empty, after all.

But He’s Bully - Reggie Mantle

Anonymous said:

I was wondering if you could do one where Reggie is dating the reader and people keep like pestering her about it and asking why they’re dating and she keeps getting super annoyed because Reggie is super sweet to her.

“I still,” Jughead shook his head, “I just don’t get it.” You let out a groan as your friends continued to stare at you. You glanced over at Kevin who busied himself with his apple juice to ignore your gaze. He was the one that started all of this. You turned back to Jughead.

“There’s nothing get,” you said, picking at the food on your tray. Jughead let out a forced laugh and shook his head once more. You glanced up at him, trying to convey your annoyance.

“But he’s a bully, Y/N,” Jughead said, his voice a little louder than before. You saw Archie, the only one who had remained silent since the reveal, flinch at Jughead’s words.

“He’s not that bad Jughead. He’s slowly turning around.” Archie said, trying his best to defuse the situation. Jughead was as stubborn as ever. He was about to snap that the redhead when Betty rested a soft hand on his shoulder.

“There’s bad blood between you and Reggie but that doesn’t mean she can’t see good in him.” Jughead gave Betty a dramatic look.

“I’m not defending him Juggie,” Betty added, “he is horrible to you. I’m defending Y/N’s love life.” The blonde girl’s words seemed to relax Jughead a little. His gaze lifted from her face to yours once more, giving you an unreadable look.

“But what do you see in him?” Everyone head’s turned the direction of Kevin’s voice. You glared at him as Veronica made her way towards the lunch table.

“Why is everyone looking at Kevin like he kicked a puppy?” Veronica sat down next to you as she asked.

“Y/N is dating Reggie Mantle, Kevin was the weary messenger,” Jughead said grimly. Veronica’s hand rested against her chest as she turned to look at you. Shock rested on her features, with a hint of disappointment.

“The football player? He seemed sketchy to me,” Veronica said after calming down a bit; but now it was your turn to get mad. You let out a loud groan and sat up from the table. You grabbed the food tray and walked to drop it off. You pulled your phone out, clicking on the conversation you had with Reggie the night before.

you : Meet up?

Reggie :) : sure babe. lounge?

you : Sounds good. See you in a few.

You smiled down at your phone and walked in the direction of the lounge. The hallways are empty, it being lunch period. You sped over to the lounge door, gently pushing it open. The lights were off inside, but when you walked inside they turned on.

You smiled when you saw Reggie walk through the other entrance, across the room. You let out a giggle at the cliche scene as you both started to walk towards each other. You met in the middle of the room and you rested your head against his chest when he was close enough. His arms wrapped around you securely, holding you to his warmth.

“What’s up,” he asked after a moment. You just buried your face deeper into his chest, trying to block out the words of your friends. His arms tightened around you and he pressed his lips to the top of your head gently.

“My friends found out about us.” You felt Reggie’s shoulders sag a little. You pulled back, just enough to look into his soft brown eyes. “They didn’t react very well.”

“It doesn’t matter what they think,” Reggie said softly, “we are the only ones involved in this relationship. Our feelings are the only ones that matter.” His hand went to your cheek and caressed it softly. You leaned into his touch, smiling gently.

“That was very wise,” you teased and Reggie grinned.

“But it is odd,” you raised an eyebrow at his words, “someone like you, an amazing person, with someone like me. I’m very unworthy.” You laughed and shook your head.

“You’re pretty amazing yourself Mantle,” he smiled at your words.

You held his gaze for a silent moment. You had started not too long ago, so only kisses on the cheek had been exchanged thus far. With this closeness, you didn’t know how long you could last without knowing how his lips tasted. It seemed Reggie couldn’t wait too long either as his gaze shifted down to your lips and back to your eyes, his gaze conveying a question. You nodded and leaned up on your tippy toes, softly brushing your lips to his. Reggie pressed tentatively, but then kissed you sweetly. His finger tips went to your jaw line, slightly under your chin to draw you closer. His lips parted against yours to speak.

“Yeah,” he mumbled, “your friends can-” You cut off his sentence with another kiss. As soon as your pressed your lips to his again, he started to laugh. You giggled, pulling away smiling.

“You’re cute,” he said, smiling widely as you laughed. His hand, which still lingered on your face, caressed your cheek. You felt a hot blush rise to your face and your smile grew a little more. You opened your mouth to speak but the bell cut you off. You let out a groan and Reggie smiled gently.

“Until next time baby,” he said with a grin. Reggie leaned down and pressed a kiss to your cheek. He walked off towards the way he came and you left the lounge to head off to your next class. As you walked through the crowded halls, you bit your bottom lip to suppress another smile.

“You look happy,” you turned and saw Betty fall into step beside you. “Happier than before. Sorry about Jughead by the way.” You shook your head and let your smile show through.

“It’s fine,” you said, “I-uh, thought it over and I know that nothing will change the way I feel about Reggie. Not even your sleuth boyfriend.” Betty smiled and blushed at your words.

“I’m glad you’re happy Y/N.” You nodded and glanced around the hallway. Your eyes landed on Reggie, talking to Archie at his locker. He glanced up, holding your gaze with a smile. You smiled back at your boyfriend, replaying your shared moments in your head. Archie looked up, saw you and looked back at Reggie with a grin. So what if some of your friends were against you and Reggie? Like Betty said, you were happy and that’s all that mattered.

Park Chanyeol x Reader - Fluff

Words: 3.5K

Summary: You were straightforward, maybe a bit too straightforward for people’s taste but that’s what made Chanyeol fall for you. Of course, that straightforwardness caused trouble in every interview. Especially when it came to a certain interview with the question, “Who is somebody you have a crush on right now?”

Chanyeol would be lying if he said he didn’t have feelings for you. It was undeniably obvious to his members and probably everyone in SM Entertainment. Park Chanyeol’s feelings for fellow SM star, (L/n) (F/n). From your cute little smile to your infamous straightforwardness, EXO’s rapper couldn’t help but gravitate towards you. Of course, everyone but you knew about his feelings and honestly, it frustrated him. There was a part of him that wished you would just find out so as to save him from actually confessing but there was another part that wanted to confess to you.

Even worse, the FANS knew about his crush. It was ridiculous how sharp the fans were. Fancams would catch the twinkle in his eyes when you stood next to him or how he would immediately dart his head at the sight of you. He found it insane how fans knew about it but you. But maybe you did know and refused to address it? He wasn’t sure.

Oh, right. Straightforwardness. (L/n) (F/n) was known in the K-Pop community for her straightforward personality.

Funniest (L/n) (F/n) Moments (Part 1) was the video title Chanyeol clicked on in his messy dorm room. He loved watching videos about you. L-O-V-E-D. It was his favorite pastime. Besides, the fans are really good at editing so he wouldn’t have to scour through hundreds of interviews to find one of you being sassy.

"You can stop pretending to be asleep now.” Jungkook whispered as he started the car engine, “Taehyung can’t see us through the blackout windows.” His comment was everything but comforting, you were awkwardly sprawled across the back seat of a car without blacked out windows, about to be taken to some kind of headquarters where you would no doubt be killed.

“Who are you? What do you want with me? Are you going to kill me?” Your voice wobbled as you sat up in the car so you could watch the city lights zoom past you, the memory of Jungkook killing a man still playing in your mind,

“If I wanted you dead I would have killed you by now.” His voice was stern and flat, emotionless.

“You murd-"

"I’ll explain everything in time. Which way is your apartment?"

"I’m not telling you where I live! Are you crazy?! You just shot a guy in the face! I- I thought we were going to-"

Silence.

"I could always pull the car over and break your fingers until one of them points me in the right direction."

Flood my Mornings: Unimaginable
  • This story takes place in an AU in which Jamie travels through the stones two years after Culloden and finds Claire and his child in 1950 Boston.

@themusicsweetly asked:  For when Claire eventually is preggers, their first time with an ultrasound machine.

So here’s the thing: 1951 is at *least* ten years too early for fetal ultrasound.

HOWEVER, this was one of the first FMM scenes I wrote after the reunion (even before this prescient ask!)  and at the time, I wasn’t even thinking about historical accuracy. Soooooo, I’ll ask you to put on your suspenders of disbelief (TM @stageandhistory‘s teacher) and just enjoy the anachronistic ride.

[Also, there’s a bit more of a time jump on this one than I normally go for, but I was feeling antsy to get to a landmark scene, so HERE WE ARE. (but I’ve got some planned flashbacks in the works for later, so don’t hesitate to request scenes from the months I passed over, if you’ve got a need!)]

Late April, 1951; Harvard University Hospital

“Fine—Sweetheart—I’m fine!”

The words were barely more than a muffled mumble into his shirt. Based on how tightly he was clutching me, I should have insisted to speak with him directly instead of leaving the message with the Fernacre receptionist; or at the very least, I should have been more emphatic with her that there was absolutely no emergency at hand.

I hugged him tighter in reassurance. “I’m so sorry, darling—I truly didn’t mean to frighten you. Everything’s fine, I promise.”

“But Nancy said ye were in hospital.”

At the hospital—at Harvard—”

“Aye, not your proper hospital—and I was in the furthest pastures—” he said in a rush, cupping my head hard. “It took them so long to ride out to track me down—that—and then the Traffic—I thought—the bairn—

God, and what must he have thought? With my being several weeks past six months, the same time at which—

“We’re fine, Jamie, I swear. See? We’re in the academic wing, not intensive care.” I pulled out of his arms and tugged him toward the open door nearby. “Come with me: I have something to show you.” Trying to suppress my grin, I ushered him into an empty lecture hall and closed the door behind us.

Standing there, still in his work clothes and smelling of horse, Jamie was breathing heavily and looking as though he meant to either cry or fight someone or both. “Please say what’s happened so I can stop this aching in my chest.”

Despite his agitation, I managed at length to get him to sit in the professor’s chair. I leaned against the desk facing him, trying to keep back the storm of happiness. “You know I had my final examinations this morning?”

A nod, a pause, and then a tentative, “…Did they go well?”

“Very well, I think. But as I was gathering my things and headed out, my professor suddenly stopped me and asked if I’d be willing to assist one of the med-tech research departments with a demonstration. I was taken aback of course, but I trust Dr. Gordon—you remember, he’s the one that’s been so impressed and supportive?— so I was willing to see what was what, at least.”

This exposition did not seem to have done anything to lessen Jamie’s tension; in fact, he looked downright ALARMED at mention of me participating in some sort of vague experiment. Well, so had I been!

I went on, hastily. “And so he led me to the research wing and introduced me, and—And well, I called Fernacre as soon as they explained what it was that they were going to be testing out, because—Oh, Jamie, it would have been absolutely magical to show you as it was happening. But I managed to get the next best thing.”

I handed him the glossy print, heart thudding. “It’s something like an X-ray, see? This was only a prototype—very few people in the world have used this technology.” He kept staring down, and I babbled anxiously to fill the silence. “It isn’t even a good likeness of the fuzzy readout I saw. I badgered someone to find a camera, and the flashbulb reflecting against the glass television screen makes it quite hard to see, and I’m sure the print itself isn’t great, either—I badgered another department to develop it for me quickly, so it’s barely more than a blur, but…”

For more than half a minute Jamie had stared down at it, turning it this way and that—

But finally, the image must have clicked into place, for he gasped and nearly dropped it.

“You see it?” I was beaming, holding back tears. “Can you see?

“Is that…?”

Yes,” I choked out, “that’s him.”

So engrossed was Jamie in the image before him that he didn’t immediately seem to hear me. Then, he looked up so sharply it must have hurt his neck, blinking like he’d stepped into bright sun. “H—him??”

“You can’t tell in this shot,” I whispered, not meaning it to be a whisper, but so hoarse with feeling I couldn’t help it, “but the technician was certain.“

“We’re going—” Jamie was grinning like an utter addle-pated simpleton. “—to have a—a wee lad?

I nodded, smiling back but also weeping, lips pursed tight, and suddenly unable to speak at all through the lump of happiness in my throat.

“Oh, Claire…” Jamie was on his feet in a second, laughing and holding me as tightly as in the hallway, but this time in joy. “Oh, LOVE!”

The next I knew, he was beaming into my eyes, holding my face. “I’d have been just as thrilled wi’ a wee lassie, mo chridhe, but….Jesus, God, to KNOW—!! It’s…absolutely miraculous.”

“Honestly, this is— unimaginable to me, too,” I whispered, leaning my forehead against his as I looked down at my belly (at my son!). “To be able to see an unborn child….To be able to see right into the womb without cutting! I never even dreamed of such a thing. Jamie, it…I saw him.”

“And he’s—alright?”

“As far as they could tell.” I sighed and smiled, giving in. “Yes…yes, he’s alright.”

If two sane people could be delirious with joy and relief, it was us. We must have looked quite out of our senses to any passerby, so intensely we were beaming and grinning and clinging tightly to faces and hands.

Without preamble, Jamie stuck the precious photograph in his breast pocket, swept me up into his arms (ignoring any protest against handling my massive bulk), and settled back into the chair, cradling me in his lap.

We sat there in beatific silence for I don’t know how long, with soft touches and wordless sounds of tenderness and awe.

At last, Jamie simply couldn’t contain himself. “What will we name him? Our—son?”

We hadn’t discussed names at all, to date—both of us perhaps afraid to tempt fate until the birth was closer at hand. But I had seen him, today—seen the outlines of his tiny feet move at the same exact moment I’d felt him kick—And it changed everything. There was still risk, and there was still fear; but the hope in me was glowing and radiating throughout my entire being. This child, this little boy, was alive and well. He would be well. And he needed a name.

“Well, let’s see….” I beamed and traced patterns on Jamie’s shoulder. “I suppose we can’t have a Brian AND a Brianna.”

Jamie laughed, “No, indeed. The first Brian Fraser will get the big head up in heaven. Though what about your Da? Henry’s a good, strong name, aye? What d’ye think?”

“I’d very much like to use it as a second or third name… but I can’t quite see it as his first.”

“’His,’” Jamie echoed in a gleeful murmur. “…He’s a him.”

My delighted giggle hit me mid-kiss.  “Yes, darling,” I crooned against his lips, “he’s a him.”

Jamie brightened. “Say, now, what about Robert? That was my wee brother’s name, and one of my Da’s as well.”

I must have made a face at this, for he smiled and rubbed my belly, leaning down to whisper confidentially, “Your mam doesna like your name one bit, wee Rabbie.”

I laughed and amended, fairly, “If you feel strongly about it, I might be persuaded. I’ve just—Honestly, I’ve never liked the name Robert. Robert…. ROBERT….” I tried the name several more times, making grotesque faces as I tasted the syllables. “No, sorry, just won’t do.”

Jamie wasn’t offended, and in fact, we both repeated the rejected name a few more times each, trying out ridiculous accents and intonations to completely rule it out as a frontrunner until we were little more than a mass of giggles there in the professor’s chair.

Then, as if by magnetic force, we quieted and turned our eyes back to my belly—to our little him.

We were still for a long time, both of us imagining we could see our son curled up asleep, as I had so briefly and hazily today.

“Lambert?” Jamie said.

I smiled fondly, but shook my head.

“William?” I offered softly, a while later. “For your brother?”

Jamie made a sound of acknowledgment, thinking, but said nothing.

There was a bird singing outside the tall, sunny window. Leafy sun-shadows spangled the walls and a tiny breeze brought the scent of spring to surround us.

And as a second bird chimed in outside our little haven, Jamie’s hand tightened lightly, significantly, on my belly, eyes shining. “What about…Ian?”

“…Ian…” I breathed back, putting my hand over his, feeling something settle perfectly into place. “Oh, yes, that’s….Ian…”

Not the blood-brother long-mourned: the brother of Jamie’s heart whose loss was still an open wound. They’d known each other all their lives; had fought together and defended one another, had been each others’ champions in battle and at home. And it struck me for the first time that Ian Murray was the only brother I myself had ever known, too. Ian had been a true kindred spirit, ever an ally in our den of blood-Frasers. And beyond that, Ian was—had been my friend. I missed his ready smile and his wit, his compassion….

Ian.

It was painful—but perfect.

“Ian…Henry,” Jamie murmured reverently. “A fine name.”

“Ian Henry…Fergus?…” I offered, my voice cracking.

I felt the convulsion go through Jamie and I touched his face. I know, love. I know.

Lord, the grief—the grief of holding one son between us and longing for the one we’d left behind; and for Jamie, how much more raw that grief. For Fergus had been there with him for those two broken years, had been a joy and a comfort to him when little else could be; and we could never see him again.

“Aye,” Jamie said at last, smiling weakly through reddened eyes. “Ian. Henry. Fergus. Beauchamp—”

Fraser,” we finished together in a whisper, all four hands covering our little boy. Life and loss, joy and mourning, so inextricably intertwined.

There were tears in Jamie’s eyes, as there were in mine, and his voice was deep and husky with love as he looked down at our hands and rubbed gently. “You’ll do them all proud, Ian.”

And damn me, if our little guy didn’t kick, right on cue.

Your name: submit What is this?

Wiping his clammy hands down on his crimson red pants and taking a much needed deep breath, Stiles Stilinski walked into the loud dance club to attend his ex-girlfriend’s birthday party. Which he technically wasn’t invited to but went anyway, because the man knew no boundaries. He did know, however, that she probably didn’t want to see him ever again and yet he couldn’t find it in himself to stay away. He absolutely hates that he had to continuously lie to protect the woman he loved, the woman he still loves, from the supernatural world but what he truly hates the most is that he’d have to constantly let her down because of it.

He’s lost count of all the times he had to cancel on their dates because someone in this chaotic town needed saving or how many times he had to try to come up with excuses to cover up his secret only for her to see right through them everytime. It broke Stiles’ heart to know that he continuously deceived her, but he knew that he had no other choice since he didn’t want her anywhere near the danger the pack always faced.

The day she ended things with him is the day Stiles hates the most in his life. He couldn’t handle the way she cried as she told him all of the nights she spent sobbing because of him or all of the times she felt betrayed because her own boyfriend would deny telling her the truth whenever she asked. Stiles’ heart shattered when he watched her walk away from him, never turning back, and it still remains that way. It’s already been two months since they broke up, but the wounds were definitely still open.

“Stiles?” He heard a voice call over the loud music and the human instantly turned around to see a familiar redhead. “Is that really you?”

“Yes, Lyds.” He smiled at her shocked face. “It’s me.”

“You seriously came to your ex-girlfriend’s party without an invite?” Lydia smirked, now chuckling along with him. “How daring of you.”

“What can I say?” Stiles shrugged. “I’m a badass by nature.”

The laughter that erupted from the banshee’s throat should’ve offended him, but Stiles laughed along with her instead. They both knew Stiles was a big softie and not exactly a badass, but he could still be tough whenever it was truly necessary.

“Of course you are.” The redhead snickered, lightly patting him on his broad shoulder. “But, I would avoid staying here if I were you.”

“And why is that?” Stiles narrowed his eyes at her, surprised when she, suddenly, stopped being in a light-hearted mood and became serious.

“You don’t know?” Lydia cleared her throat, nervous now that she realizes she’s the one who has tell one of her best friends the bad news. That without a doubt will hurt him even more than he already was.

“Know what?” Stiles asked, now anxious along with her. “Lydia, you’re scaring me.”

“S-She has a boyfriend.”

The second those words came out of her mouth, Stiles’ already broken heart dropped down into his stomach and shattered even more, which he honestly didn’t think was possible. A gaping and bleeding hole took the place where he once had a beating heart. Stiles felt as if the Winter Soldier himself had punched into his chest with his powerful metal arm and he was officially done for. It doesn’t even matter what Stiles does to try and fix himself, he’s now always going to be broken.

“A boyfriend?” He asked, his voice weak and Lydia winced at how pained he sounded.

The redhead just nodded, turning herself around to point to the couple wrapped in each other’s arms on the dance floor as they moved their bodies to the beat of the deafening music. Stiles reluctantly followed the direction of her finger and bit down on his bottom lip to somehow keep from crying when he saw the girl he so desperately loved dancing beautifully. He watched in awe at the way her hair bounced against her shoulders as she happily sang the words to a song Stiles had never heard before. But, he already liked it just by the way she seemed to. Jealousy and hurt flooded his body at the sight of some unknown guy dancing closely to her with his hands gripping her waist, the same waist Stiles held onto whenever they were intimate. The same hips he loved planting kisses on when he moved lower and lower down her body until he reached the area she desired him the most.

“I should probably go.” Stiles stated, trying to swallow the hard lump in his dry throat.

“Yeah,” Lydia nodded, but then smirked with an idea. “Or you could get a quick drink first. It is open bar after all.”

Tearing his eyes away from the painful scene, Stiles looked down at the banshee and nodded. Lydia smiled and lead them through the sweaty crowd and towards the bar, the smell of alcohol getting stronger with every step they took.

“Bartender!” Lydia called once they reached it, slamming her hands down on the counter. “Can you get me two beers, please?”

“Two beers coming right up.” The polite man smiled and pulled out the two their drinks from under the counter.

He snapped the tops off with a specific tool and slid the beers over to the redhead, who easily caught them before they could fall off the surface.

“Thank you very much.” Lydia smiled back at him as she handed Stiles a bottle.

The young man immediately took a swig and enjoyed the feeling of the bitter liquid making its way down his once dry throat. Lydia looked at him with a kind smile on her face, taking her own sip of the drink. She put the bottle back down on the counter as she licked the remaining liquid off her lips, but Stiles didn’t dare put his drink away. He needed this beer more than anything to somehow feel better at the realization that he lost the girl he actually believed he could get back, forever.

“Are you okay?” Lydia asked, noticing how quiet and still he was. Two characteristics Stiles Stilinski certainly never displays.

“No, I’m not.” Stiles answered truthfully, taking another sip of his alcohol.

“I know what it’s like.” She patted his shoulder to comfort him. “But, hey think about the bright side. At least she’s not a lizard who turned into werewolf then left you to go to London. Or a former Alpha that actually killed people you knew and ended up dying before you could ever see him redeem himself.”

A muffled laugh escaped from his lips even though he was still drinking from his bottle and Stiles swallowed his liquor before turning to look at Lydia whole-heartedly.

“Right, but at least things between you and Parrish seem to be working.” Stiles answered.

“Yeah, when he’s not on fire.” Lydia scoffed. “And I’m not even talking about sex.”

This comment was enough to make Stiles’ heart a little less heavy as he detached his attention from the dancing girl to his best female friend and her spicy sex life.

The dancing girl, on the other hand, was currently wiping away the accumulated sweat on her forehead as she continued dancing with her new boyfriend. He was the sweetest and most attentive guy she’s ever met. He always makes sure to spend as much time with her as humanly possible, so much so that his GPA score in college had been dropping from his lack of studying. It was very refreshing to her, having a boyfriend around all the time… something completely different from Stiles Stilinski.

However, it wasn’t at all his fault. He couldn’t control the supernatural or make it go away, but he believed it was his job to at least save the people this world puts in danger. It hurt her so much to know that Stiles had a mysterious secret she could never be apart of. She knew that Stiles loved her and only ever did what he thought was best. But, it’s too bad it just wasn’t enough.

As if on cue, the heartbroken girl turned her head at the exact moment that Stiles decided to take a peak at her. The world screeched to a halt when their eyes locked and finally saw each other again after being separated for two whole months. Her eyes were wide and her jaw dropped at the sight of the brown haired boy with freckles painted all over his fair skin. Her heart immediately beat faster and she felt as if it would suddenly jump out of her chest and fly towards him. She missed him, there’s no doubting that. And apparently, so did her body and soul. The way she’s feeling right now, just by the realization that she’s in the same room as him, was enough to know.

Stiles carefully put his bottle down on the bar counter and tuned out everything Lydia was currently saying, his attention only focused on the girl gazing at him. Her face was completely shocked and he chuckled internally at how astonished she looked. Stiles could see the blush heating up on her face all the way from the other side of the bar and it made his heart flutter to know he still had an effect on her.

Lydia stopped talking absentmindedly when she noticed Stiles slowly lift his hand and wave with a smile on his face towards someone on the dance floor. The redhead turned to see just who he was greeting and immediately smiled when she realized it was exactly the person he came here to see.

“You should go say hi.” Lydia suggested.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Stiles answered, no longer waving to her but still holding the gaze.

“Oh, she already sees you.” The banshee shrugged. “I see no harm in at least going over there to wish her a happy birthday. I mean, at this point, it would be rude if you didn’t.”

Stiles carefully thought over Lydia’s suggestion, her words repeating in his head over and over again. He wanted to talk to her desperately, but then again he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable in any way. He knows how recent this all still is and he’s well aware of the pain pooling inside of her just like it was in him.

“Fine.” Stiles nodded, taking a deep breath before standing up.

Stiles’ ex-girlfriend’s eyes widened even more, which wasn’t thought possible until now, when he stood up from the bar stool and began walking over towards her. She didn’t know whether or not she wanted him to approach her, but she definitely knew that her heartbeat rose with every step the boy she still loved took.

That’s when the unexpected happened and neither one of them were ready for it. The techno beat song that was echoing in the dance club ended and was replaced with a slow love song. But, not just any love song, their love song.

Stiles immediately stopped in his tracks and she immediately stopped dancing. Her boyfriend looked at her with a confused glance, but her focus was locked on Stiles. Neither one of them knew what to do as all of the memories, the times they spent together, the intimate touches and the feelings came crashing down on them with full force. They both almost fell at how weak their knees felt.

The way she was gazing at him right now made a new sense of confidence coming from an unknown source spark in his blood and an idea lit up in his mind. It could either end up really well or really badly, but Stiles didn’t give his anxiety the time to think it over. He moved his legs once again and continued walking towards her which made the girl panic. Her boyfriend continuously asked her if she was okay but she couldn’t even answer, too nervous over the boy approaching her.

“Hi.” Stiles greeted and she swallowed nervously at the sound of his voice again after so long.

“H-Hey.” She responded and completely let go of her boyfriend to push her hair behind her ears, a habit she has whenever she felt anxious. Which Stiles knew about and couldn’t help but smile at how adorable she looked.

“Hi.” The boyfriend spoke up and Stiles took his attention off of her to look over at the source of the voice. The young man told Stiles his name even though it was pointless considering Stiles would forget it in a matter of minutes. “And you are?”

“Stiles.” The boy with freckles answered, politely extending his hand out towards the fellow guy. They both shook hands with kind smiles on their faces.

“What brings you to the dance floor?” The boyfriend asked.

“I was actually wondering if I could borrow your girl for just one dance.” Stiles requested and the girl felt like she was about to faint. She didn’t know if she had it in her to be able to dance with Stiles without falling apart.

“Sure, but don’t steal her for too long or I’ll get jealous.” The boyfriend chuckled after taking a few seconds to think it over. The man was undoubtedly a good person and Stiles actually liked him as he turned around to place a chaste kiss on his ex’s lips. “I’ll be over at the bar with the boys if you need me.”

She just nodded and he looked at Stiles one last time before smiling at the both of them and walking away. She gazed up at Stiles with doe eyes and he couldn’t help but smile at how beautiful she was. Extending his hand out to her, she took it and he placed it on his shoulder at the same time that he used his other hand to put it on her waist. When both of her hands were on his shoulders, Stiles rested his other hand on the other side of her waist. Their faces were just inches apart as he stared intensely into her eyes, her heart pounding heavily against her ribcage at how lovingly he gawked at her. It’s been a month since she found a new boyfriend but Stiles certainly still had her wrapped around his finger.

“You know, when I found out you had a new boyfriend I was really hoping I’d hate him.” Stiles spoke up as they started to sway their bodies to the rhythm of the song that belonged to them and no one else. “But, damn, I actually like the dude.”

“Yeah, he’s a really nice guy.” She laughed at Stiles’ surprising compliment and the breath-taking sound made his heart stop.

“You really know how to pick them.” Stiles chuckled, quirking his eyebrows at her to make her laugh again and a smile appeared on his face when it worked.

“I guess I do.” She giggled, letting her head fall on his chest for the slightest second as she laughed before picking it back up. But, this time she was no longer laughing and had a serious expression planted on. “I just don’t know how to keep them interested enough to stay.”

“What are you talking about?” Stiles questioned, furious that any boy would ever dare think this amazing girl in his arms was boring. “Who was stupid enough to think that?”

She looked at him with pain evident in her eyes, water glossing over them. Which only meant she was about to cry and Stiles’ gut wrenched at the scene. The last time he saw her cry was when she ended their relationship and it was the worst thing he’d ever witnessed in his entire life. Stiles strongly believed that this beautiful woman should never had tears in her eyes, only sparks of happiness.

“You.”

Stiles felt as if he was just trampled on by a herd of the biggest elephants on the planet when she referred to him. The three lettered word took the shattered heart in his body and pounded it until it was a mere pile of dry dust, making him feel worse than he ever had.

“M-Me?” He stuttered, not being able to think properly. “How?”

“You always canceled on dates, you never texted me or called me back enough, you always put your secret life first that you’d never let me in on, and you constantly felt this need to lie to me for no real reason.” She listed, trying her best to wipe away her tears but there was no point due to the immense amount running down her cheeks. “I guess I just wasn’t good enough for you.”

“Don’t you dare say that.” Stiles shook his head, taking one of his hands off her waist to place it on her flushed cheek. “You were- you are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“Then, why didn’t it ever seem like it?”

“Because things are more complicated than you can imagine.” He defended, but she simply scoffed at his ridiculously vague response. “Look, I need you to believe that whenever I lie to you, I do have my reasons.”

“It’s too bad that I don’t believe you.” She pulled his hand off her cheek and began to slowly detach herself from his hold.

“No, don’t leave!” Stiles panicked, not wanting her to leave his presence just yet. Or ever, really. “I-I still love you and I know that I can make it up to you somehow-”

“Stiles-” She cried, not wanting to hear him speak because she knew that if he did she would be putty in his hands soon enough.

“Wait, just let me finish.” He interrupted her just like she had interrupted him, his voice already desperate. “I know I messed up and I know I can never take it back. But, I can change from now on and, I promise, I will change. You have my heart and I am nothing without you so please– please –don’t do this. Just come back to me and I swear I’ll do everything right this time. I’ll always pick up your calls on the first ring, I’ll buy you flowers every damn day, I’ll take you to every party this town can offer because I know how much you love to dance, I won’t cancel on dates anymore because you will always be my priority, and I promise I’ll give you all of my hours when I have the chance.”

He confessed the beautiful words with such emotion and love in his frantic voice that it made her heart stop and melt in her ribcage. Even though she’s been trying to move on and find a way to forget him, there’s no doubt that Stiles Stilinski still had the key to her locked heart. She wanted to be with him more than anything, but she also wanted to respect herself. Men always say they’re gonna change, but they never really do and she knew that. Even though she wasn’t used to it, the girl had to put herself and her own feelings first this time.

“Will you tell me what you’ve been hiding from me?” She asked, hoping desperately that he would say yes.

Stiles’ face fell to the floor in defeat because he knew that that wasn’t possible. Everyone that gets involved in his dangerous world either always gets hurt or… worse. And Stiles would never forgive himself if something happened to the woman he loved. He would rather lay down his own life than ever let her be vulnerable to the risks and threats that come with the supernatural.

“I-I can’t.”

“Then, I can’t go back to you Stiles.” She responded, her heart breaking even more. “I deserve better than this.”

“I know you do.” Stiles’ voice was weak with the tears threatening to escape his eyes.

“But, I still want you in my life. I still want to be friends.” The girl requested and Stiles scoffed at the common sentence every former couple says but never actually commits to. He felt her soft hand rest on his chin and lift his face that had fallen to look up back at her. “Stiles, I’m serious. I can’t lose you.”

“I can’t lose you either.” He confessed, feeling small.

“Promise me you’ll be in my life.” She requested. “Even if we don’t have the emotional stability to see each other all the time, just promise me you’ll at least be there for the big moments.”

Stiles looked into her breath-taking eyes and he felt himself getting lost in them. She was everything to him and he would never want to lose her friendship, even if that meant having a painful one. Butterflies made their way into her stomach when the edges of Stiles’ lips curled into a beautiful smile.

“I promise.”

~

Lydia Martin rushed down the halls of the beautiful hotel with the life-saving tool in her perfectly manicured hands, the sound of her heels clicking on the floor as she ran. Quickly opening the door to the dressing room she so desperately needed to approach, the redhead strode inside along with Malia hot on her trail. Their eyes landed on the girl that used to date Stiles who has now become one of their best friends and smiled the second they saw her smile at how breathless they both were.

“I got it!” Lydia celebrated, walking over to the girl and handing her the mascara that was in her hands.

“And I got this.” Malia smirked, gesturing towards the alcoholic beverage in her grasp.

“Congratulations to both of you.” (Y/N) laughed, taking the mascara Lydia was giving her and opening it to apply it on her eyelashes.

“Do you need help?” Lydia asked, closing the door to the dressing room.

“I’m okay.” She smiled, but immediately groaned when she smudged mascara on her eye lid. She turned away from the mirror she was using to face Lydia, who already had a grin on her face. “Please save me.”

“Alright, Alright.” The redhead chuckled, walking closer and taking the mascara from her. “Lydia Martin to the rescue.”

She began to put on the mascara on her eyelashes as she internally appreciated the rest of the makeup on (Y/N)’s flawless face. She had a simple smokey eye that really made her eye color pop along with the perfect amount of blush spread across her fair cheeks. She hadn’t put lipstick on yet considering it’s the last thing you should do when applying makeup, but Lydia already knew the right shade that would tie up her entire look.

“There you go.” The redhead smiled when she finished the job and closed the mascara, putting it on the dresser her friend was using. “All set.”

“Thanks, Lyds.” She smiled, her entire face glowing with happiness. “You’re a life saver.”

“I know.” Lydia smirked, pushing her strawberry blonde hair behind her shoulders for sass.

“You know who else is a life saver?” Malia spoke up, walking over to sit on the small couch. “Scott.”

“And why is that?” Lydia questioned.

“Because I just overheard someone was trying to sneak in and he took care of it.” Malia shrugged, taking a sip of her drink.

“Who was trying to sneak in?” (Y/N) asked, curious that someone would try to ruin her special day.

“I don’t know.” Malia shrugged. “But, the dude was absolutely hysterical from what I heard.”

Even though the girls didn’t want to believe her, Malia actually had a point. The person that wanted so desperately to enter the hotel indeed was hysterical. But, the thing was, he wasn’t just any person. He was Stiles Stilinski and he would stop at nothing to get inside to the girl he still loved after being away from her for an entire year.

“Bro, you know this isn’t a good idea!” Scott exclaimed at his best friend frantically trying to get out of the Alpha’s grasp. “Go home.”

“Scott, I can’t just go home!” Stiles whisper-shouted, careful not to let any of the guests know about the scene he was causing. He didn’t want to make things any worse than what he already had planned. “I have to see her.”

“And do what exactly?” Scott questioned, his eyes narrowing at the human.

“Stop her from marrying the wrong guy!” Stiles yelled and the werewolf let go of his best friend from how shocked he was, his jaw dropping and eyes widening at the process.

“You can’t do that.” He shook his head. “Stiles, don’t do that.”

“I have to, Scott.” The human answered, fixing his vest and letting out a sigh. “She’s the love of my life and I can’t let her walk down that aisle if I’m not the one at the end of it.”

“Stiles, this is the most idiotic plan you’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot considering all of the really bad ideas you’ve had before.”

“I don’t care.” Stiles huffed. “I have to talk to her.”

“Okay, fine.” Scott stated, his voice challenging. “I’ll let you in if you give me your invitation.”

Stiles’ eyes dropped to the floor in defeat and he shifted on his feet as Scott watched his best friend with a pained heart. He hates that he has to do this, but he’ll hate himself even more if he lets him go and Stiles gets hurt even more. The girl he loves is getting married today and she’s not just gonna drop everything for him. Life isn’t a movie, it’s real and usually comes with disappointing endings.

“I-I can’t.”

“Because you don’t have one.” Scott said and Stiles just nodded. “Don’t you think that’s enough of a sign to let you know that this isn’t something you should do?”

“What would you do if it was Allison marrying someone else?” Stiles asked, picking his head back up to look at Scott.

“I’d let her.”

“No, you wouldn’t.” Stiles disagreed, knowing his best friend would fight for the love of his life until his very last breath. “And I’m not letting (Y/N) go either.”

“Stiles, you’re just gonna get hurt.”

“So, be it.”

Before Scott could even expect it, Stiles rushed past him and immediately ran down the halls towards the room he just witnessed Lydia and Malia entering. His detective skills made him deduct that that’s where the bride was and he approached it without even thinking, Scott running right after him.

The same door flew open from two running young adults for the second time today, but this time (Y/N) didn’t smile and lightly laugh when it was revealed who had barged into her dressing room. Instead, her smile she had on with the girls had faded.

Awkward tension instantly invaded the small space when hers and Stiles’ eyes landed on each other, her heart already stopping and her breath hitching in her now dry throat. Stiles was also shocked, not knowing what to expect when he finally saw her again after all that time. Neither one of them said anything, they just kept their wide eyes locked together and didn’t even try to hide the fact that they were both breathing heavily.

“I’m so sorry!” Scott shouted, breaking the awful silence. “I-I tried to stop him, I swear! But, he wouldn’t work with me and-”

“Scott, it’s okay.” The bride intervened his panic with a weak and strained voice.

“I-It is?” Scott stuttered in surprise and she nodded, everyone else in the room just as shocked as the werewolf.

“So, you’re the crazy dude trying to break in?” Malia spoke up and Stiles just nodded as well, not willing to take his stare off of the girl he wanted to be with. “Makes sense.”

Stiles’ eyes trailed across (Y/N), taking in her sight after missing it so much. She was so beautiful he had almost forgot. Sure, she was only in a purple satin robe and her hair was down in its natural state, but the young woman looked breath-taking to him anyway. And Stiles himself looked amazing to her. He was wearing a white button up shirt with a silver vest on top of it and a silver bowtie to tie everything together, not to mention the black tuxedo pants, and (Y/N) was certain she would faint at his never ending beauty.

“Guys, can you give me and Stiles a minute?” She asked and everyone’s eyebrows raised.

“Are you sure?” Lydia asked.

“Yes, I’m sure.”

“Okay.” Lydia nodded, grabbing Malia’s hand as they walked towards the door. “We’ll be at the temple.”

The redhead got a hold of Scott last before she pulled the three outside and the werewolf shut the door behind them, leaving the two exes alone in the same room together. And to say they were both extremely nervous wouldn’t be enough to describe how intense everything felt.

“I wonder if my invite got lost in the mail.” Stiles cleared his throat, speaking up first. “Because I’m pretty sure I was supposed to receive one.”

“I-I didn’t think you’d want to come.” The bride responded nervously.

“Yeah, but I made you a promise, remember?” Stiles answered, taking a step towards her. “I’ll never miss the big moments.”

Her heart fluttered and she immediately stood up, approaching him as well. Their bodies closer and already craving the other at how much they missed each other.

“Well, I’m glad you’re here.” She confessed and Stiles smiled.

“Me, too.”

“Did you bring a date?” She asked and Stiles scoffed at her question.

“I could never.” He shrugged like it was the most obvious thing ever.

“Why not?” (Y/N) tilted her head to the side, confused as to why someone so handsome like him wouldn’t have a girl attached to his arms.

“Because I’m in love with someone else.”

She didn’t even have to ask who it was, just by the way he was gawking at her like she was the only girl in the world made her already know. She hadn’t cried since that night she saw Stiles at her birthday party, but that strike was about to be ruined with how the familiar burning sensation poked in her eyes.

“Stiles, y-you should really go.” She stuttered, worried that if he stayed something would happen between them.

She loves her fiancee more than anything in the world, but there’s always going to be something there with Stiles. He was her first boyfriend, her first time, her first love, her first everything. That kind of person doesn’t just go away in your life, they’ll always be there lingering in the back of your mind and there’s nothing you can do to change that.

“Not without doing this first.” He shook his head, taking one more step towards her until he finally reached her.

Stiles’ hands gently grabbed her cheeks and, without even thinking twice, he crashed his soft lips against her plump ones. The bride couldn’t even find it in herself to stop him, her mind and body already falling into a trance. She understood that letting him kiss her was wrong especially since she was about to get married to another man in a few, but all she could think about was his familiar mouth moving against hers.

The kiss wasn’t just any simple kiss though, it was full of love and saudade. A word in portuguese that means a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent someone that one loves. Saudade was once described as “the love that remains” after someone is gone and is the recollection of feelings or experiences that once brought excitement, pleasure, well-being, happiness. Which now triggers the senses and makes one feel alive again.

Once they both needed to breathe, Stiles pulled away but kept his hands on her face. He smiled at how swollen her lips now were and she felt thankful for not having put any lipstick on before he arrived.

“I love you.” Stiles stated, caressing her skin with his thumb and smiled.

She didn’t say it back or really had the time to if she wanted to say it in the first place because the next thing she knew Stiles’ lips are back on hers and he’s pushing her towards her dresser, the back of her knees hitting the edge. Stiles’ hands moved from her cheeks to swipe away all of the makeup on the dresser, throwing them on the floor, and lift her up on the surface. When his lips went from hers to place tempting kisses on her neck as he slowly untied her robe, (Y/N) immediately snapped back into reality.

“Stop!” She exclaimed, instantly pushing him off of her and breathing in the air her lungs were begging for.

“Did I do something wrong?” Stiles panted, his voice worried.

“Yes! I’m about to get married, Stiles! You can’t just kiss me or try anything else!”

“I-I’m sorry.” He scratched the back of his neck nervously. “I couldn’t help myself.”

“Leave, Stiles.” She ordered, pointing to the door. “You can’t be here.”

“No, no, no. I don’t want to go and I know you don’t want that either.” Stiles shook his head frantically, approaching her again. “Remember when you asked me to always be in your life?”

“Yeah, but not like this!” She flailed her arms to express her frustration. “I want us to be friends not destroy each other with our lingering feelings.”

“I’m sorry, I really am. But, my feelings are always gonna be there.” Stiles placed his hands on the surface around her thighs, but didn’t dare touch her out of respect. “Especially since how we ended things so abruptly! I never got the proper closure.”

“And neither did I.” She retorted. “But we have to move on, Stiles. We’re just two disasters that are detrimental to each other. We aren’t meant to be.”

“I can’t be apart from you.”

“I can’t be with you.”

Silence filled the room as they both thought, neither one of them ready to except the other’s terms. Stiles can’t imagine a life not alongside (Y/N) and she can’t imagine a life constantly being lied to with him.

“Does he make you happy?” Stiles asked suddenly and she certainly didn’t expect it.

“Yes, he does.”

Stiles couldn’t handle the truth she just confessed to him because in that moment it finally hit him will full force. He would never get the girl he was in love with back ever again. She had slipped from his hands and there really was nothing he could do to have her return. The gorgeous bride before him was the one that got away.

“So, is this it?” He asked, not caring that there were actually tears escaping from his eyes. “Is this the end of our love story?”

She didn’t dare say anything because she knew if she did she would burst into tears and sobs. Instead, the bride just nodded.

“C-Can I say goodbye?” Stiles asked, never feeling more vulnerable in his entire life.

“Yeah.” She shrugged, thinking he was just going to hug her and leave but was completely surprised when he kissed her again.

Stiles held tightly on her waist and kissed her with so much force, she almost fell back on the mirror. (Y/N) knew that this would be their last kiss ever and therefore didn’t feel the need to stop him. She allowed Stiles to kiss her with everything he had in him and she kissed him back just as passionately. Both of them forgot the whole world around them as they let themselves fall into this moment of pure weakness.

“I’ll go now.” Stiles breathed, pulling away and placing one last kiss on her forehead as he let go of her to leave the room.

The blushing bride thought long and hard before she decided that that wasn’t enough to say goodbye. She was well aware she was about to get married, but she also knew that this was the last time she’d ever have the opportunity to be with Stiles again. After today, they would be officially over and, for that reason, she immediately grabbed his hand and stopped him in his tracks. Stiles instantly turned around with wide eyes when she pulled him back to her.

“Wait,” She stated, spreading her legs for Stiles to settle in between them and placing her hands on the back of his neck. “Not yet.”

Before he could even ask what the yet meant in her sentence, her mouth returned on his and this time she was the one that kissed him hard. Out of pure instinct, his hands rested on her waist and she tugged his hair which earned her a small moan from Stiles. She took advantage of this and slid her tongue inside, Stiles moaning again in surprise.

“What are you doing?” Stiles panted, breaking their kiss the second she began undoing his bowtie and threw it on the floor.

“Saying goodbye the right way.”

He finally understood what she was getting at when she pushed his vest off his shoulders and began unbuttoning his white shirt. Stiles didn’t waste any time either, considering she was literally on a tight schedule, and untied the straps of her robe. The satin fabric fell on her dresser and Stiles let out a shameless moan when he realized she was completely naked.

“I didn’t want any panty lines.” She shrugged, taking off his shirt. “And the dress has a built-in bra anyway.”

“Oh, I am in no way complaining.” Stiles smirked, letting go of her to quickly unbuckle his belt and open his pants. They instantly fell on the floor and he pulled off his boxers as well, stepping out of both pieces of clothing.

The two gawked at each other, enjoying the sight of one another’s naked bodies after spending so much time away. Stiles licked his lips at her perky nipples, waiting to be nibbled on, and she couldn’t take her eyes off of his increasing erection. He wasn’t at his full potential just yet, but the young woman still believed he looked incredibly sexy.

Stiles’ lips attacked her neck and sucked hard on her pulse point, his hands wrapping around her back as he pushed her bare body into his.

“Don’t leave any marks.” She requested and the words without a doubt wounded him because he knew she didn’t want any evidence of their time together. Even though it hurt like a bitch, Stiles pushed the pain down and focused on making her moan.

Which he definitely succeeded in because in a matter of seconds, the bride was a whimpering mess under him and the sounds jolted through him straight to his dick. What turned her on even more than what he already was doing to her was the delicious feeling of his erection rubbing against the inside of her thigh.

“Stiles, we don’t have much time.” She moaned, her hips bucking against him and begging for the friction to calm down the throbbing ache in her core.

“Are you wet enough?” He asked before bringing his hand down her body to slide his finger through her surprisingly soaking folds. “Oh, you definitely are.”

Stiles’ middle finger landed on her swollen clitoris and her eyes immediately shut when he rubbed slow circles against her wet nub. The increasing feeling of desire rushed through both of their bodies and he couldn’t help himself when he attached his mouth on one of her inviting breasts, sucking hard as his tongue flicked her nipple. The bride could already feel pleasure build inside of her and she knew that she would lose her mind if he wasn’t in her soon enough.

“Stiles,” She panted, the young man’s cock twitching at the sound of her begging his name. “Please.”

“Okay, okay.” Stiles nodded, biting down on her nipple and letting go of her now wet breast with a pop. “I don’t suppose you have a condom on you, do you?”

“No.” She laughed. “But, we don’t need one.”

“We don’t?” He asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

“I’m on the pill.” She stated and the pain inside of him resurfaced when he realized just why she was taking such precautions.

Stiles didn’t want to think about the fact that she was having sex with someone else and that, after tonight, he’ll be able to touch her, kiss her, hold her, make love to her as much as he damn pleases. The woman that has his ruined heart in her hands was going to be a wife and what hurt most was she wasn’t going to be his wife. The young man decided to ignore his feelings and just enjoy this one last moment with her as fully as he could.

Stiles removed his hand from her core and used it to pump himself a few times as she spread her legs more for him. When he felt like he was ready enough, Stiles aligned himself with her entrance and slowly pushed in. (Y/N) immediately moaned at the feeling of his thick staff stretching her tight walls and Stiles was a mess of so many different emotions.

Of course he was extremely turned on and loved that his cock was now buried deep inside of her, but he was also sad and actually felt like crying. Saying goodbye to the hope he had of being with her again was the hardest thing he’d ever have to do and Stiles, honestly, didn’t know if he could bear it. Sure, the girl he was currently making love to wasn’t the only one in the universe. But, to Stiles it seemed like she was.

He thrusted inside of her slowly and let his head fall on her shoulder at the incredible sensation of his member sliding in and out of her tight walls. Pleasure grew quickly in the two, both of them enjoying the feeling of being one again. The throbbing inside of her stopped, but appeared in Stiles instead. His cock unable to hide how much he adored her warm and slick core around him.

After making sure she was ready for it, Stiles increased his pace and was pounding inside of her in no time. All of the built up sexual frustration and tension between them really helped to make the knots in their stomachs tighten immediately. Stiles hitched her feet up on the dresser and (Y/N) couldn’t find the self control in her to keep her screams down. Stiles was fucking her in an entirely different angle, repeatedly hitting a sensitive spot she didn’t even know she had, and she didn’t care if people could hear how loud she was.

Stiles didn’t care either, in fact he secretly wanted people to hear. He wanted everyone to know that he was the one giving her immense pleasure and that no one in the world could make love to her like he could. She was screaming underneath him and her core would occasionally clench around Stiles, making him scream out as well. The continuous fast pace and hard thrusting didn’t take long to make the two near their much anticipated orgasms.

Not only did the dirty sounds of their moans and screams echo in the dressing room, but so did the sound of the dresser roughly banging against the wall along with their connected and wet groins slapping together. The sounds were music to Stiles’ ears and he never wanted to ever stop being with her. But, he knew that that wish would soon meet its end from how obviously close she was to falling over the edge. Without really wanting to, Stiles brought his hand down to her clitoris and rubbed intensely to guide her to her release.

The knot inside of her instantly exploded and spread an inexplicable amount of pleasure all throughout her body. It was so intense that she couldn’t control her own shaking and her core clenching down on him. Which, in response, Stiles immediately came as well. (Y/N) moaned at the feeling of his heated liquid shooting up inside of her and Stiles didn’t stop thrusting any time soon. He wanted to soak in this last memory they would create together as much as he could and he wanted it to last.

It was when she put her hands on his hips to stop his friction from how sensitive she’d become that Stiles halted his movements. Her ex-boyfriend then proceeded to place sweet kisses on her neck and cheeks before reluctantly pulling out. Stiles enjoyed the sight of her completely breathless because of him and his wet dick glistening with her juices one last time.

(Y/N) used her robe to clean herself up as Stiles put his clothes back on. His pants were the first ones on, followed by his white shirt and vest. The bride jumped off the desk and Stiles instinctively ran to her aid when her knees wobbled and she almost fell.

“You okay?” He asked and she nodded with a smile, giggling at the situation.

“I couldn’t be better.”

“Well, you are getting married today after all.” Stiles smiled.

“Which reminds me!” She pulled away from his grasp and rushed over to a rack that held her absolutely gorgeous wedding dress. “Can you help me put this on? I’ll help you tie your bowtie.”

“Of course.” Stiles chuckled, putting his undone bowtie around his neck as he approached her.

Stiles carefully and kindfully helped her put her wedding dress on and he almost fainted at how beautiful she looked. His eyes watered at the breath-taking sight and he envied her groom because he was the luckiest man in the entire world.

“How do I look?” She asked, spinning around in her dress happily.

“Words cannot describe how amazing you look.” Stiles answered truthfully and the bride blushed in response. “He’s a lucky man, you know.”

“I do know.”

“(Y/N), I hope he’s everything you’ve ever dreamed of.” Stiles confessed, gazing straight into her doe eyes. “I hope he always pick up your calls on the first ring, I hope he buys you flowers every damn day, I hope he takes you to every party this town can offer because I know how much you love to dance, I hope he never cancels on dates because you will always be his priority, I hope he gives you all of his hours when he has the chance, and I hope he does and is everything I should’ve when I was your man.”

“Me, too.” She responded, unable to hold back the few tears that rolled down her heated cheeks.

“Goodbye, (Y/N).”

“Goodbye, Stiles.”

The bride fixed Stiles’ bowtie with a never ending smile on her face and when they were both finally ready, the two former lovers walked out of the dressing room and headed towards the temple. Stiles entered the room first and sat right beside Scott, who definitely had a confused look on his face especially since his best friend smelled mostly of sex. But, also of another prominent emotion that made the werewolf’s heart burn as he watched Stiles gaze at the girl he loved so dearly when she happily walked down the aisle: sadness.

“Are you okay?” Scott asked his brother.

The word saudade is not only the definition of an inexplicable longing for someone you lost, but it can also carry a repressed knowledge that the person of longing might never return.

“Yeah, Scott. I really am.”

Stiles Stilinski knew that he would never get her back in his arms. But, he also knew that as long as she was completely happy-

He would find a way to be, too.

summary: TEN moments in the journey of moving on

I rose from the dead to bring you all some PAIN. It took me a while to get this done because I wanted to get it right. A big thanks to @l-nmanuel for being my sunshine, @linslovelylocks for helping me out with the Pain, and @gratitudejoyandsorrow for making me read Love & Misadventure (which inspired this fic). ONE (play is all it takes for her to fall in love)

You remember seeing him for the first time in a school play, all untidy black hair and dark wild eye. He was confident, almost arrogant in the way he commanded presence onstage. You ran to him after the play to congratulate him on his excellent performance.

You expected a haughty smirk from the lead actor, but instead he grinned bashfully and admitted that your pieces in the school magazine was always the highlight of his Tuesday.

“If only I was as good a writer as you are, I could write the greatest play in the history of ever,” he had said.

Just for a moment there, you saw the bleeding edge of insecurity underneath his sunny exterior. All it took was an exchange of numbers, a series of texts overnight, and by the next day, the two of you were already best friends.

TWO (people play acting. or are they?)

Lin is pacing the length of his bedroom, looking absolutely terrified for his audition tomorrow.

“I wish I could help,” you say absently, editing your article on your laptop. His head immediately snaps to you.

“Help me act out some scenes?”

You raise your eyebrows at him. He grins, pulling on his ‘but-I’m-your-best-friend’ face. You’ve never been able to say no to that smile. He grabs your laptop from you and types something, then shows you a list of prompts. So you spend 5 hours switching between at least 20 different characters, ranging from an angry grandmother to a hot girl he meets at a bar. You both turn to your laptop to see the final prompt.

‘A and B are best friends. A’s reaction to B getting married. ’

“Congrats,” you say, turning to him, already in character.

“That’s a lie.” He gives a mirthless laugh.

“I’m not! Congratulations,” you repeat, wondering where he was trying to steer the script.

“You’re lying! Why aren’t you happy for me? What are you trying to say?” he said fiercely, his black eyes boring into you.

“I’m trying to say that I’m in love with you!” you yell.

Right after the words leave your mouth, your heart stops. That isn’t part of the prompt. Your feelings aren’t supposed to get tangled with your improvisation. Wait, your feelings? For him?

“You have no right to say that just before I’m getting married,” Lin hisses.

“I’ve tried, you idiot. You think I want this?” you snap.

“I’m sorry. I can’t do anything about it,” he says, looking down. Your heart drums against your chest, and then you grin.

“Aaaand, scene.”

THREE (times he rewrote the script and it was still rejected)

He slumps down in the seat next to you, everything in his movement looking drained. You ask him if anything is wrong, but he just shakes his head mutely. You try again, taking his hand in yours. And for some reason, he tells you.

“My script was rejected,” he says quietly. “I thought I already knew rejection, but not this. I put everything into this. I rewrote the entire thing 3 times.”

You squeeze his hand. “Keep rewriting. You have all the time in the world.”

His smile is sad, and grateful, and something in your heart tightens. You smile back at him, hoping that he can’t see the butterflies in your stomach. You stare at his brown eyes. They aren’t the colour of the ocean, but you can drown in them anyway.

“Mi corazón,” he says, smiling at you.

“My nerd,” you reply affectionately.

(at) FOUR (a.m. he decides to get a tattoo because he can’t stop thinking about someone)

Lin gets paired up with Natalie, the future valedictorian, for a project. You see them and the first thing that you feel is a loud, stinging pang of jealousy, but in the back of your mind, there’s a click that tells you they’re meant to be. You ignore it and keep it to yourself, because that’s what you do best.

He texts you. ‘hey i’m getting a tattoo of a mic, come with?’

You accompany him to the tattoo parlor as he gets the mic. He’s over the moon as you drive home.

“What do you think?” he asks, trying to catch a glimpse of his tattoo for the first time.

“Personally, I wouldn’t get a tattoo that says daddy in cursive, but-”

“What the fuck?” he yells, wheeling around to try to see his back in the mirror.

“I’m kidding! Who inspired you to get a mic anyway?”

His face transforms into a wide, carefree smile, and his entire being relaxes. “Natalie.”

You turn up the volume of the radio so he doesn’t hear your heart breaking.

FIVE (Gordon Ramsay insults. technically, the last one isn’t an insult.)

You’re there when Lin finally kisses her.

It’s her birthday, and she tries to pass it off as low-key by calling it ‘just a barbeque’, but the truth is that it’s a very expensive beach party. You and Lin are piling food into your plate, trying to fit in with the rich kids by shouting Gordon Ramsay-esque insults.

“The pork is so raw it’s still singing Hakuna Matata!” you yell, stabbing it and taking a big bite.

“Why did the chicken cross the road? Because you didn’t fucking cook it!” He says in a terrible British accent.

“Maybe you should give this piece of meat to the gods; I hear they like burnt offerings.”

He puts both hands on your cheeks. “What are you?”

“An idiot sandwich,” you say, faux tearfully. The two of you cackle in amusement, stealing bits of food of each other’s plate. Lin is about to launch into Ramsay mode again when Natalie approaches the two of you.

“Hey, guys,” she says happily.

“Hello, linda,” Lin interjects quickly, taking her hand. It’s a joke he always uses when trying to pick up girls - calling them linda so they’d say “my name isn’t Linda” and he can reply “linda means beautiful in Spanish” and watch them turn red.

Instead, a dusty pink blush spreads across her cheeks. “Quiet, you,” she laughs. Lin’s eyes light up in disbelief, like ‘holy shit, this amazing girl knows Spanish, she just got even hotter’. His eyes flit to you for permission, and you give him a big thumbs up.

You watch as Lin walk Natalie to the edge of the water, and they sit down. Gently, he puts his hands on her cheeks and says: “What are you?”

Natalie grins. “The love of your life?”

Even from a distance, you can hear Lin’s warm laugh, fading away as he leans in to kiss her. Everyone ceases their conversation to cheer and whistle at them. When Lin pulls away, he’s wearing a smile similar to a Cheshire cat’s.

Daniel, Lin’s roommate, lunges forward and pushes Lin towards the water. Natalie’s friends catch on to the idea and push her towards the water until the two of them are knee deep in water. You laugh along with everyone, until the crowd starts to dissipate. You return to your room.

It’s past midnight when Lin tiptoes into your room to grab fresh clothes that he keeps in your drawer. “Good night, Lin,” you whisper as he passes your bed.

He gasps. “Shut up, (Y/N).”

“I’m happy for you.”

“Shut. Up.” You can’t see his face in the dark, but you’re pretty sure he’s smiling as he leaves the room.

SIX (songs that aren’t even dedicated to her)

The worst thing about being in love with your best friend is that you can’t tell your best friend about it.

Your heart skips a beat when Lin texts you. ‘heya i’m making you a mixtape! it’s cute and adorable and fluffy (like me)’

You reply within seconds. ‘hm, what’s it about?’

‘SHIT sorry that message was for natalie!! actually, since you are a fellow pretentious fuck when it comes to music, can you help me out with the mix?’

‘sure. tell me about it.’

‘okay so i already have Perfect by Ed Sheeran, for obvious reasons, and Don’t You Forget About Me. what else?”

‘Ignition (Remix)!!!!’

‘are you fucking kidding no way’

‘come on, dude.’

‘fine. I’m also feeling The Fray. How To Save A Life?’

‘no wtf that song is mainstream and irrelevant. Heartbeat.’

‘good one. 505?’

‘YES. also. Cherry Wine.’

‘It’s done! It’s a mini-mix, i’m putting together a longer and better one for her birthday. THANK YOU, wingwoman.’

‘send it to me for prooflistening!!’

My Only Sunshine, by Lin-Manuel

Heartbeat - The Fray
505 - Arctic Monkeys
Ignition (Remix) - R. Kelly
Perfect - Ed Sheeran
Cherry Wine - Hozier
Don’t You Forget About Me - Simple Minds

‘nice job, cabrón.’

SEVEN (billion people in the world and she chose to fall in love with the one who doesn’t love her back)

“Natalie’s parents are thinking of saying no if Lin proposes to her,” Chris announces, placing a plate of eggs in front of you.

“What?” you splutter, dropping your spoon. “No. The wedding has to happen.”

Chris gives you a long, measured look. “I thought their wedding being cancelled would save you from a great deal of pain.”

“It doesn’t matter if I tear my own heart in two. Because if Lin is happy, then it is worth it-”

“God!” Chris’ eyes narrows. “What could possibly be worth it?”

“Everything that I have lost!” you shout. “Lin!”

Chris breathes in and out slowly, and there’s something like pity in his eyes when he looks at you. “7.5 billion people in the world and you had to choose the one who doesn’t love you back.”

EIGHT (bottles of beer and she still misses him)

“What’s up, big shot?” you slur, holding the phone in one hand and a bottle of cheap beer in the other.

“Fuck,” he exhales, realising you were drunk. “I’ll be at your place in 5 to make sure you’re okay.”

“You’re so far away, Lin,” you complain. “Souls don’t understand the notion of distance, you know that? They only know how right it feels to be with one another. I miss you even when you’re just a room away, because my soul only feels the absence of yours.”

He laughs, and through the haze of alcohol you feel warmth spread through you, like a sun peeking from behind the clouds. “You only miss me when you’re drunk.”

“I’m drunk because I miss you,” you say softly. A beat of silence passes, and time stands still. You wonder if he hung up.

“Natalie’s calling.” The sound of her name shatters the moment like glass. You can’t find it in you to reply.

“Don’t do anything stupid until I get there,” he jokes. His voice is rough, scratchy, and he mutters a goodbye before hanging up.

True to his word, he appears 5 minutes later in your doorstep. He notices the empty bottles of beer on the floor and sees you lying down on the couch. Without hesitation, he gently pushes you to make space for him and lies down next to you.

You grin sleepily up at him. “Thanks for coming, but I’d rather sleep.”

“Sleep, mi corazón,” he whispers softly, pulling you closer to him. You know that he isn’t going to stay the night, but it’s still a slap to your face when he’s gone in the morning leaving nothing but a note taped to a glass of water.

For the first time, you feel white-hot jealousy flare up in you. All you wake up to is a hastily scrawled note, while Natalie gets to wake up to the life-sized, walking, talking Lin: to the sizzle of him cooking bacon, to his raspy humming, to his brown eyes half-lidded with sleep, to him.

(he’s on cloud) NINE

“(Y/N). You should fall in love. It’s amazing.”

He sounds drunk, but he actually isn’t. Drunk on love, maybe. It’s a joy for you to see your best friend like this, but it hurts like hell to see him like this because of another girl. It’s like he can’t stop talking about her, he always slides her name into every single sentence, twisting every conversation to relate it back to her.

You become so worried about losing your best friend that you check his phone to see what your name is in his contacts. You breathe a sigh of relief when it’s still mi corazón. You look for Natalie’s contact. Mi alma.

Mi corazón, my heart. You’re his heart; you know what he likes, what he hates, you see all his dark and you love his light.

Mi alma, my soul. She is his soul; he lives and breathes her, she sees the stars in his smile, everything he does is either with her, because of her, or for her.

TEN (years after meeting him and she finally lets him go)

Lin appears in your house with two cups of coffee. “I’m thinking of proposing to Natalie,” he says, after taking a long sip from his cup.

“Do it,” you cheered, grinning. He looks at you, searching for any kind of falseness, but there is none.

“I- Are you sure?”

“Yes. When I met you, I thought you hung all the stars and the moon in the sky. But I came to realise that you are just like me. You know the shape of my soul and the words of my heart. You’re my first love, Lin, and you always will be. But I deserve someone who loves me back, so I can be the poem instead of the poet I’ve always been. I’ve been stuck in your orbit for years, and this is me breaking free.”

He bites his lip and stares at the ground. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be,” you say softly, pulling him into a hug. You savor the moment, drawing it out for as long as possible, and then you pull away. The smile that he gives you afterwards is worth everything.

The next day, you’re out at dinner with Natalie, and you can tell that she has something to say by the way she cuts her chicken into smaller pieces than is necessary. “I think Lin’s going to propose to me.”

“Really?” you enthuse. “That’s great!”

“Any words from his best friend?” she asks.

You’re silent for a long moment, trying to find the words. “Take care of him. He looks like he has enough love to give to everyone, but sometimes he needs love as well. Be honest about his work. He enjoys criticism. He’ll sometimes think he’s the dullest of the bunch, when in reality he’s the brightest. With every word, pen stroke, and touch, you’re going to fall deeper in love with him. Please, just love him with everything you have.”

She holds your gaze, and between the two of you, there was some kind of resolve; an understanding. She knows. And she knows you’re moving on.

“Oh, and Natalie?” you ask, just before the moment fades.

“Yeah?” she says, with a smile that eases your mind. Not many people deserve Lin, but she definitely does.

“Don’t you fucking dare break his heart.”

“Cheater Cheater”

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader

Summary: Bucky has a feeling you’re cheating on him with Sam. After a lot of brooding and thought, he decides to confront the two of you.

soundtrack:
“¿Dónde estás, Yolanda?”

A/N: I can’t do angst to save my life, so this story takes on a very different direction than originally intended. -j xx

“I’m pretty sure she’s cheating on me.”

Bucky grimaces, hating how those words taste on his tongue. He refuses to look at Steve, because he knows the gnawing feeling in his stomach will get only worse once he looks at his friend’s shocked eyes. “Whenever I ask her how her day was or what she did, she clams up and gives me some weird answer or excuse,” he continues.”

Steve rubs his jaw. "Buck, that’s not enough to assume that (Y/N)’s cheating on you,” he hesitantly states.

Bucky fishes his phone out of his leather jacket and pushes it towards Steve. "This is overbearing of me, but I asked Nat to do a little recon,” he sighs. “Whenever I look at these photos, a little voice in my head nags ‘Cheater cheater!’”

Steve uneasily scrolls through the different high-quality photos of you secretively walking out of a suite at the Avengers Tower. “Whose room is she leaving?“ he asks.

"Sam’s. It’s been going for about two weeks now.”

Steve practically spits out his coffee. “WHAT? Sam?”

Bucky feels drained as he takes his phone back. “Nat said that after (Y/N) leaves, Sam’s whistling around the tower. And you know Sam only whistles after one thing.”

Oh, every Avenger in the tower knew what the whistling meant. It was Sam Wilson’s telltale sign that he got lucky with a woman.

Steve shakes his head in disbelief. “(Y/N) and Sam? I mean, you and Sam… but… what?”

Stay Professional! Pt. 10

Work AU! Fluff, Angst and smut: Jungkook x Reader

Part 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

Summary: Jungkook’s blurted out his thoughts sincerely and you don’t know how to react. Jimin offers you a paid-leave to clear your mind and come back later, hopefully fresher than before.

A/N: Good news!! this isn’t the last chapter- I did some thinking and I decided to extend the series by ~3 chapters :) this chapter also has a lot of dialogue! It’s quite a sad chapter- it might be a little slow but this chapter is focused on the development of JK x reader’s relationship.

The grey clouds coated the sky and grumbled in annoyance as seeps of lighting passed through them. It was weirdly creepy that the weather was able to portray your devastated mood rather accurately. As soon as the elevator dinged, you stepped out with a burning desire to sprint out of the building. You legs worked with long strides and the rapid clicking of your heels showed just how frantic you were to leave. You never once looked back whilst running- all you could focus on was the salty taste of your tears and how fast your fast your legs carried you.

Despite the fact that you had taken the elevator, Jungkook still somehow managed to catch up- his worn out legs had jumped down 4 steps at a time to reach you with his dangerously fast paced heart. He looked no-where near presentable. His hair was still messed up, a couple of strands stuck up whilst his fringe clung onto his sweaty forehead. He didn’t have any time to put on his usual suit-jacket, let alone button up his white dress-shirt. His pink lips were swollen and they couldn’t help but repetitively form your name in hopes that you’d stop running away from him.

“Y/N! Please! Wait!” Jungkook’s voice echoed slightly across the spacious ground floor of the company building. The workers looked beyond confused at the sight of Jungkook in a panic and yelling. They’d always viewed him as an emotionless, professional and very well composed business man.

It was a total shock to see him in such a worn out and breathless state. His ostentatious figure was a mere inconvenience in this situation as the people did nothing but stare- which made you feel even more shit.

You thanked god for automatic glass doors as you swiftly ran past them and to the outside- where the thunder seemed to grumble louder than before. You helplessly wiped away your stream of tears that rolled off your cheek and chin endlessly, but that deemed to be useless as that image kept popping up inside your head. She looked so content straddling his lap- and he didn’t even do anything about it. The image was engraved into your mind and you couldn’t help but let out a loud grumble of pure frustration. Jungkook had just shattered the little trust you had left in him and that consequently lead to the shatter of your sanity for a brief amount of time.

Everything suddenly seemed hopeless. You’d just wanted to drown yourself in vodka to ease the stabbing pain in your heart. Your vision was clouded and blurry from the unstoppable tears and your brain couldn’t stop torturing you by constantly replaying the scene over and over inside your head.

“WAIT!”

Jungkook let out another loud yell and people on the street stopped to look at the dramatic scene. You ignored his desperate attempts and continued to strut forward- the last thing you’d wanted to do was see his face let alone converse to him.

Suddenly, you felt a violent tug on your wrist and Jungkook forcefully spun you to face him. His vision was also distorted and he found it difficult to breathe as his lungs were blazing with discomfort. Frenzy immediately washed over his expression at the sight of your tears. He had no intention of loosening his grip on your wrist- and he was sure it was going to leave a mark but it didn’t matter at that point.

He needed to speak to you- to clarify everything, to tell you how crazy you drove him, to beg for forgiveness and explain his ridiculous actions.

But before he could say anything, you attempted to wriggle out of his grasp, grumbling in pain as you could feel the flesh on your wrist sting under Jungkook’s grip.

“Don’t touch me!” You instinctively shouted and Jungkook’s expression softened, yet he didn’t loosen his hellishly tight grip. His lips quivered in fear as a blanket of regret washed over his mind. He knew he should’ve pushed her away. He knew he shouldn’t have let you go.

Ever since his realisation that you were the only person he had genuine feelings for had hit, his life had been flipped and shook out of proportion- much to his dislike as the downfall of his stocks screamed at him to concentrate but, he found it physically impossible to do so. All he could think about was how much happier he’d be with you by his side. He’d never felt so obsessive over anything.

Your name: submit What is this?

The music was too loud, possibly heard in the next few blocks. The party was at its point and i was dancing in the middle of the room, shaking my hair and a red glass at the top of beer in my hand. I wasn’t worried that i would shed a considerable amount of liquid in every movement, but who cared? Everyone here was drunk enough to need my drink. Tomorrow I would regret this, especially for the hangover but I would take care of that in due time.

I stopped for a few seconds to drink the little content I had, I didn’t used to go to parties, but when I did, I knew perfectly how to have fun. I usually came with my boyfriend, but lately he’s committed to his qualifications after receiving an ultimatum from his trainer, who had missed this one. I could have been a good girlfriend and stay home an assistant, but the reality was, i wasn’t better than he at school, and this party was important so that we both lost it. For the moment, I received no threats to drive me out of the cheerleading squad, so I don’t worry about staying home and studying, not on a Friday night. No doubt, I was already drunk. Jeff wasn’t going to love this.

“You move very well, girl”

I turned with a big smile on my way to the voice behind my back. A boy, who was supposed to know because his face was too familiar, perhaps sharing a class or two, it didn’t matter, it wasn’t the time to think about the institute, or tasks or anything else.

After seeing that boy at the party, there is no record of anything else, until a few hours after Jessica was in charge of giving me a good reprimand, regret that she hadn’t had a portal like a saint during the celebration, although At least she did it with her boyfriend. That boy, he wasn’t my boyfriend. My boyfriend had stayed at home among books, while I was making one of my worst mistakes in my life, and there was no day until today that I regretted every action that night.

I balanced my phone in the dark of my room. There is no record of having brought me a house where I wasn’t very well received, now carried a good punishment, and not for attending the party, but for the painful state in which I came. At least I’m not drunk anymore. But i repent and be destroyed. I look with tears in my eyes at the screen of my cell, the name of Jeff is there and just press the icon to call to end this. How could it have happened? How could I have made him the best boy he has ever known? Why did I even attend that party … without him? I cover my face with my hands and sob. There were many people who realized what happened. On Monday someone would tell Jeff, and i knew he had to know for me. He was going to send me to the devil, perhaps in such a kind way that it will make me feel worse. At no time in our long relationship has he manifested with me in a bad way, I have never had the voice, no matter how angry I was for the madness that I sometimes made, it was more than madness and even then I knew him well enough. Who will not even dare to tell me the word “bitch” to think about it, is another matter that I would never know.

I bit my lip hard. It was three o'clock in the morning, possibly I would be asleep. Later we were going to the movies and then to dinner, but I couldn’t look him in the eyes, I couldn’t go out with him, not after what I did. I always knew Jeff was the good of the two … and I didn’t deserve him. He didn’t deserve someone like me.

Finally I pressed the call button and while I waited for him to answer, I worked on reassurance.

“Y/N? Is everything okay? "His voice sounded sleepy but alert. Who would call in the wee hours of the night unless it was an emergency?

I closed my eyes, letting more tears drain away.

"No,” I whispered.

“Where are you? Did something happen to you?” I heard the squeak of his bed. Possibly sat or got up. I imagined him taking his jacket. He was able to drive to my house right now. A pang pierced my chest and I felt worse.

“I’m home,” I murmured.

“Then why are you calling me at this hour?” Another squeak. He sat down again.

“I …” I covered my mouth at the threat of another sob “I … I have to tell you something, Jeff”

It took a few seconds to respond.

“You’re worrying me, I can go to your house right now, just leave the window open”

I smiled through tears. It wouldn’t be the first time he would sneak into my room, possibly his most rebellious act, but only when my sadness and worry wouldn’t let me sleep, he would come in, we would lay on my bed and caress my arm while telling me some anecdote . He wouldn’t leave until I fell asleep, when I woke up I found a note, either on paper or on my phone. My smile was blurred again.

“Stay there, Jeff.” I couldn’t see him. “I did something very bad.” And I burst into tears. I couldn’t tell him, I couldn’t even want to break his heart, but neither did he deserve to stay with me, nor could I pretend that nothing had happened. I didn’t want to lose him, but that decision no longer belonged to me. He waited in silence “I can’t tell you what, but … I can let you go”

“What are you talking about?”

“Jeff …” I closed my eyes to say the following words: “I’m breaking up with you. You and I … we’re done”

“Y/N”

And I hung up, not giving time to his questions or his talks trying to blame himself for my decision so hurried. But it wasn’t his, it was mine. I couldn’t break his heart, not with the truth, but with the call, i knew that i had already done so. I dropped my phone and ran to my window to close it securely and run the curtains enough not to see a shadow. I would give him at least fifteen minutes for him to play in this one, i only had fifteen minutes to fall asleep or torment me with the nonstop touches Jeff would make.

A slap on my shoulder startled me back to the present. Liberty High at the time of changing classes and crowded aisles. I had been five minutes in front of one of the posters that announced the Dollar’s Valentine while remembering that soon it would be the dance, the first one that would go without a partner … Without my boyfriend. It had been two months since I ended my relationship with Jeff Atkins because of my actions and not being able to control myself with the drink. A few days later, he had learned the truth, what i had done, and finally he understood why my call at three in the morning. At present hardly and looked at me. We practically passed the other without talking to each other, not smiling at us and not looking at us, at least he didn’t, I would usually stop in the middle of the aisle and turn to see him leave, with the slight hope that he would return to do the same, But he never did and that hurt me a little more, just as guilt was growing.

I looked at Jessica who smiled at me and looked at the poster that had brought me a bad memory.

“Will you come in?” She asked.

“To our own campaign? Would that be fair? "I said in a muffled tone. The truth is that I didn’t want to find a list with future ideal couples. It’s to the benefit of our squad, but I was afraid to see five names and that none outside of Jeff, though that would not change at all.

"It would serve to set the example.” Jess smiled again. She knew my situation perfectly and didn’t waste a day trying to cheer me up.

“Will you come in?”

She snorted and rolled her eyes.

“You know I don’t need it”

Of course, she had a perfect relationship with her boyfriend Justin Foley.

“We’d better go,” I murmured, and without waiting for her, I began to walk. It remained in her if she followed me or took a different course.

After that awful slide that caused me the loss of someone important in my life, one of the best things that could happen to me, I decided to commit myself to raise my grades in high school. At home, they thought, having finished with my boyfriend had raised my notes, which was why Jeff had been classified as a distraction. Usually after school I went to the classroom to finish my homework or catch up with notes from a classmate; I was also motivated by the fact that I could observe Jeff in the distance, even working with Clay Jensen.

I left my things on a table far enough away from that pair and went to one of the shelves, I needed to get a history book that was worth it to do a rehearsal. I stopped to examine the titles in front of me, but in fact, I didn’t read them because I had a perfect panorama of the profile of my now ex-boyfriend. I couldn’t help it. Having done so because of my mistakes didn’t mean I didn’t love him anymore. Instead, every day, every second of my life, my love for him grew; When I saw his smile, when I saw him playing, or when I peered at him from my desk and I saw his reactions relieved when they gave him a task and the qualification was high. That’s my boy, committed and mending his mistakes instead of running away and hiding. He was the opposite of me. Besides, i wouldn’t find someone like him and wasn’t interested in doing that search. I only wanted him, even though now it was impossible.

I had it all with Jeff Atkins and my foolishness made me lose it. I should never have gone to that damn party. I should have driven in the opposite direction, direct to his house and help him in his work.

I felt my eyes fill with tears as I returned to the present. I took a book without bothering to read the title or not, the truth is that I had lost interest in doing homework on this site, I would take care of it at home. I looked at Jeff one last time to find that he held a paper in his hands. I narrowed my eyes at the decorations of the same one, the same ones that I had suggested when we were preparing the Dollar’s Valentine. Was he entering the game? I felt my heart break and however much I wanted to claim him, I had no right. He had moved on, just what I wanted, maybe find a girl much better than me. At least I thought, but my body took on a life of its own, went to the table, took her backpack and folder and left the classroom directly to the reception. I would buy my Dollar’s Valentine too.

I lost five dollars for five names. Jeff Atkins and I had few things in common, but at least enough to have him on my list and I show up in his. I filled out the form as fast as I could but being honest and deposited the money in front of my partner who smiled. Yes, I supported our campaign, but those had been my last five dollars to survive on the week. When I was handed the sheet, I doubted those results, four names I knew, one not really, but what puzzled me was that nowhere was the name of Jeff. This was really wrong, what kind of deception are we promoting?

“Sheri?”

She looked up at me with a smile. She was hoping to tell her the names that had been my list.

“From cheerleader to cheerleader. Did Jeff Atkins come by or did you give him his list?”

She laughed and shook her head. Yes, it seemed the typical ex who didn’t exceed the boy, and it was true, but if his name didn’t appear and I was honest in my answers, I even knew what he would answer, then it was possible that I imagined it with that sheet. No, my imagination had not been, I was sure.

“Jeff?” She mocked “No, not at all, and I doubt he does. You should know that, Y/N”

“I know. I just … I don’t know … "I looked at my sheet. Five dollars in the trash, I would run out of food to try something.

"Then you did it for him?”

I folded my sheet in half, it would look bad if I wrinkled it in front of her. This was our idea, which bad example would be giving, everyone would take it as it was a simple crap.

“I’ll see you at the dance”

I left the office and school as a soul that leads to the devil.

Dave held out his hand to me as he kindly opened the door to his car. I managed not to step on the dress with my favorite color that I had decided to wear at the Valentine’s Ball. I still questioned why i had agreed to come and especially with a date, product of the absurd list of Dollar’s Valentine that in the end had decided to take the floor, After all, if the boy was in the five chosen, then we had to have something in common, although the way here was absolutely silent, or it was my lack of motivation to try to move forward. I looked at the sidetracked boy as we walked to the entrance of the auditorium, he wasn’t even half of handsome that Jeff, in fact, what I thought, is that he didn’t get to the heels of my boy … my not boy.

I tried to put on my best smile as we walked through the doors. My arm recharged in Dave’s, how much falsehood in one scene. I had also turned out on the guy’s list, incredibly first, instead, on mine, turned out to be the third. I didn’t want to take the first one because it was one of my friends, it would only make it more uncomfortable. So I took the stranger, whom I probably decide to ignore after tonight.

“Do you want something to drink?” His voice caught my attention and I watched him blink. I hoped he hadn’t found me looking all over the place for that smile that fascinated me.

“Sure.” I replied with a smile.

Dave left and I sighed in relief, why didn’t I just decide to come myself? Why didn’t I just throw the list in the trash and get on with my life without five dollars less in my wallet? What’s more, why did I even come to a party full of lovers? For him? What if he didn’t come? What if he came with someone else? It made a knot in my stomach, as if I had not eaten all day and I moved from the place, forgetting for a few seconds, that my partner would look for me at any moment, but I had had enough of Dave, I hadn’t even attracted a bit.

I moved near the door, hiding behind balloons, I hadn’t seen him in the gym, so he may not have arrived. I remained there for at least ten minutes, until he appeared, with a girl hanging from his arm; A smiling blonde, as if she had waited for that opportunity all her life. And I recognized her, oh, of course I knew her; She is in my algebra class and I was also aware of the taste she had for who was my boyfriend, that was the main reason why she hated me or why she snorted and rolled her eyes every time I entered the classroom, Yes I’m still breathing, fool. And I felt doubly hurt. Jeff knew I couldn’t stand her either, the product of my jealousy, and had brought her to the dance, wanted to prove something? Did he imagine that I would introduce myself and see him? The blood began to boil, I left my hiding place and I avoided that my eyes were filled with tears. Now it was more my anger, of all the girls of Liberty High, had to be precisely she with whom he come.

“I’ve been looking all over for you, Y/N” Soon I had Dave by my side.

“I’m finished with this. Find someone who has come alone.” I didn’t even look at him when I left following that couple.

To have seen him with another, one that I didn’t approve of course, and that went against my good wishes for him to move on, made me understand, that i had been a complete idiot in having lost him and that i wanted to stay with him. I would somehow amend what I did, and that he would forgive me.

When I got to where they were, with my best smile I took him by the arm, he turned and his eyes widened, or he pretended quite well or really didn’t expect to see me here.

“Can we talk for a second?” I tried to hide the anger. The blonde took his other arm.

“Now he’s with me, pretty”

“You quiet you look prettier. Maybe you’ll catch something else.” I looked at her with superiority and she rolled her eyes “Jeff?”

He sighed.

“All right. I’ll be right back.“ He said to the blonde, oh, of course he wasn’t coming back.

I smiled at the girl, who, after making sure Jeff didn’t see her, showed me the middle finger.

"What?” He told me once that we were far enough away to speak without screaming.

“I don’t know … I just” I looked in the direction of where we had gone “Really, Jeff? Her?”

“Do you worry about me dating someone else? Isn’t it what you wanted, Y/N? I don’t understand you. She is a good girl”

I swallowed the mocking laugh I was about to take out.

“It’s what I want,” I said. “Or I wanted … I’m not sure anymore. I just … I realized that …” I squeezed my lips “I never asked you to forgive me for what I did” He looked away “I know I did you a lot of damage and I did to me too, but I guess I deserved it. I’m not going to tell you that it was just a kiss, because I know how important that is for you … for both”

Jeff finally looked at me.

“Why after two months, you come to the dance and you apologize to me?”

“Because I couldn’t remain at peace with myself, the guilt still follows me” I crossed my arms “I just needed to ask your forgiveness to understand that I must let you go. You can go with her now”

It hurt too much. My first intention to pull him away from that blonde was to retrieve it, but now, being alone, I remembered that ours was finally over, that there was a possibility that he would never forgive me and that I should go ahead, just what I too should be doing.

I watched as Jeff hesitated, looked back, wondering whether to go back or to go somewhere else, then he saw me again and smiled half-heartedly.

“Do you know how hard it‘s for me to date someone else?”

“I know, I also came with someone” I looked away “With whom perhaps I should apologize for having planted it right here” We both laughed and looked at each other until the laughter died “I don’t think I could be with someone else again” I bit my lip, maybe saying what was in my head would hurt me more, wasn’t it enough punishment? “Because you’re unique, Jeff Atkins, and I love you more and more”

He nodded. I understood in his gaze that he was debating what to say or do. In what was wrong or good. Forgive me? Was he considering it? In what category did he put it? Nerves were eating me, but I wasn’t ready to say goodbye forever.

“To hell with the past, Y/N. I love you, and maybe I’m making a mistake but I’ll find out in time”

“I’m never going to hurt you again, Jeff. Never again”

His hands settled on my cheeks. I let the tears emerge from my eyes as he bent to join his lips with mine. This promise was never going to break, and if it were, I would even take care of ceasing to exist in this world.

Monday mornings were always a drag, but the fact your bosses office sat only feet away from the erosion of yours and Taehyung’s relationship made the usual painfully slow morning drag agonisingly slower.

Sat in Mr Jeon’s office your mind reflected on the events of the weekend. Jimin had driven you to your friend and old flat mate Belle’s small two bedroomed apartment, where you’d stayed in your old room and ate your feelings for two days. You couldn’t bring yourself to tell Jimin about Yumi and Taehyung, you were a total wreck and couldn’t even forge a coherent sentence whilst you were in his car.

Scrolling through your phone you saw almost 400 missed calls from Tae, and 3 calls from your parents. You hadn’t told anybody other than Belle about what happened on Friday night, you didn’t know how. Everything you knew and loved and wanted, was a lie.

As the birds aimlessly flew by the big glass windows of the office you inhaled deeply and composed yourself into a calm mindset, ready to finalise exactly what you came into the office to do.

Quit.

Rose Tyler: Defender of the Earth

During July, my Meta Monday posts will all be about Doomsday. Today I’m tackling a popular fanon and explaining why I don’t subscribe to it.

I discovered when I started writing fanfic that a lot of people believe Rose only fell because the Doctor tricked her into going to Pete’s World. The thought is that if she hadn’t taken a second round trip through the Void, she would’ve been able to hold onto the lever the few extra seconds necessary to stay in our universe with the Doctor.

On the surface, that’s a plausible idea. Additionally, it plays into the recurring theme in Ten’s run of him overreaching–arrogantly making choices for someone else–and that having serious consequences. (If you think about it, the Master only had an opening to become Prime Minister because the Doctor had deposed Harriet Jones…)

So why do I reject this headcanon? Two main reasons–the narrative doesn’t support it, and it diminishes Rose’s role in Doomsday.

If the cause of Rose’s fall is the extra Void stuff she collected on that second trip, then there’s no reason for her to let go of her clamp. That entire sequence with the lever shifting to offline and Rose letting go of the clamp to push it up again is absolutely unnecessary if she was going to fall because of the Void stuff.

When you only have 45 minutes of screen time, you focus on the part of the story that matters. The episode gives no screen time to the idea that Rose’s fall is a direct result of the Doctor’s actions. There’s no line from the Doctor about it being his fault, how Rose would have been able to hold on if she’d had just a little less Void stuff on her.

In contrast, there’s a full minute devoted to her lever moving offline, the struggle to reach it and push it back up, and her subsequent fall. In the middle of an action scene, anything that gets a minute of screen time is The Point of the scene. If RTD wanted us to believe Rose’s fall was the Doctor’s fault, he’d have been better served using that minute later in the goodbye scene for some sort of line from the Doctor, as I mentioned above.

“But Nancy, if that’s true, what’s the narrative point of the Doctor sending Rose back to Pete’s World? If that didn’t happen just to make it possible for her to fall, why did he do that?”

Good question! And one with two answers.

  1. That’s a character moment. The Doctor has a pattern of making choices for Rose to keep her safe. This is very much in character for him.
  2. Rose’s choice to immediately come back raises the stakes for the conclusion. She tells the Doctor that she’s never going to leave him. She’s determined. Being with the Doctor is the life she’s chosen, and nothing will sway her from that. Then less than ten minutes later, she has to decide between staying with the Doctor, or saving the Earth. She has to decide, in essence, to break her promise to him.

And now we come to the other reason I dislike this particular bit of fanon. It strips Rose of all her agency in a scene that should be a powerful choice that she makes

If Rose falls because of the Doctor’s actions instead of her choice, then her sacrifice is empty. She was always going to fall anyway, so what does it matter that she chose to let to go of the clamp?

That clamp represented safety. When she pointed out to the Doctor that they’d all be pulled in because they all had Void stuff, he held up a clamp and said he’d just hold on tight. The implication is clear: the clamp will keep them safe. And to reinforce that message, Rose doesn’t really struggle at all to hold on when she’s got her arm latches around the clamp. It’s not until she chooses to let go of safety that her fate is sealed.

The power of Doomsday’s climax comes from Rose’s choices and sacrifice. She’s sent to safety once, and she comes back because she chooses the Doctor over safety. And then when she’s given a second chance at safety–the clamp–she lets go of it when the choice is between her safety, or saving the Earth.

This is her “I could save the world, but lose you” moment. Just like the Doctor in World War Three, she has the obvious means to save the world, at her fingertips. And just like him, she knows that saving the world will mean losing him–though in this sense it’s metaphorical. The Doctor won’t die if she saves the world, but they will lose their life together.

And notice that Rose is stronger than the Doctor in both scenes. In World War Three, she is the one who accepts those consequences and tells him to do it. In Doomsday, as soon as her lever clicks into the offline position, the Doctor begs her to hold on. He knows the options as well as she does, and he can see the decision on her face. Instead of offering unwavering support like Rose did, he begs her to choose her own life.

When it comes to a choice between Rose and the universe, Rose is always more accepting of the consequences than the Doctor.

Rose willingly lets go of the clamp that had been holding her in this universe, with the Doctor, because she knows it is the only way to save the Earth. She falls as a direct result of that choice, which makes her loss a sacrifice she chose.

If we make this scene all about the Doctor’s actions, we strip her of her agency in the middle of her most powerful scene. A Rose who was always doomed to fall to Pete’s World because of the Doctor’s trick never had a chance to stay, which means it doesn’t matter what choice she made when the lever moved to offline.

In a way, I understand the appeal of this headcanon. It adds more pain to the Doctor’s thoughts and self-recrimination later, if he can blame the whole thing on himself. But outside of the fact that I doubt he had any problem blaming it all on himself regardless (that’s one of his superpowers), I really don’t like where that train of thought takes us.

Do you want to strip the female main character of her agency in order to cause more pain for the male main character?

Outside of the narrative reasons, which I believe are compelling evidence that this was not the intent in the script, this is why I reject this headcanon. It takes a key scene in Rose’s life and makes it about his pain instead of her choices, and that is the exact opposite of what I love about Rose Tyler.

Chanyeol bit his lip, noticing Y/N her head turning towards him. Out of reflex, he turned to Minji and placed his lips on hers. He had no idea why, he just did. He heard the people around the table gasp. Minji let out a giggle when he pulled away, humming contently. Right when he saw the look on Y/N’s face, his heart snapped. He swallowed and forced himself to look away. He fucked it up.
