if so then i will spread that shit like nutella

tmirai is making brownies in a mug and although this is not a brownie, I feel like I should share this recipe because 1. It’s chocolate 2. It’s cake 3. It takes a minute 4. it’s warm cake in a minute and ffs who doesn’t love that

So here:

  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa (I like using the Hershey’s Special Dark baking cocoa but you can use whatever floats your boat for this really)
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt (like, a pinch seriously)
  • ¼ cup + 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
  • Nutella, Biscoff spread, shit you could go with peanut butter I guess if you wanted to? And a spoon

So in one bowl, put all the dry stuff together, mix it around with a whisk. Then add your milk and melted butter, whisk that all together until there aren’t any lumps left. Get yourself a big ass coffee mug. We’re talking like one of those 14-16oz variety ceramic mugs, not the teeny ones, okay?

TIP: If you have some kind of non-stick spray, put it in your mug before you pour the batter in. It’ll make cleanup easier. If not, expect to be spending slightly more time than usual cleaning out your mug.

Pour your batter in the mug. Grab your Nutella/Biscoff/whatever and your spoon. I hope it’s a tablespoon. Scoop a chunk of that stuff out of the jar and plunk it in the middle of your batter. It doesn’t need to sink in or whatever, you can just float it on top.

Chuck that in the microwave for 60 seconds. Check it when it’s done, it should be fairly firm on top, not sticky. If so, hooray you are done! If not, oops put it back in for another 10 seconds and call it good.

EAT IT.

I like to crack the top of it open and put a small scoop of vanilla ice cream in there just to cool it off because it is friggen MOLTEN when you pull it out of the microwave. The chocolate cake bit is good, what’s better is when you get to the bit where all the Nutella/Biscoff/whatever has melted into the batter and you have a liquid center of gooey holy hell this is amazing.
