if she punched me in the face it would be awesome

Some Strings Attached

Ugh so there was a post going around that I’ve now long since misplaced but it was like “I just saw you go upstairs with someone else and I know we’re only fuck buddies but I’m gonna go punch them in the face” and I was HERE FOR IT. If somebody remembers the post, link me. In the meantime, have some Sterek getting together fluff.

“Just tell Derek you want to date him,” Scott says, as if it’s the simplest thing in the world.

Stiles bugs his eyes and flails his hands in wordless frustration, because the correct response to this patently ludicrous advice eludes him. He had come for sympathy, not pie-in-the-sky delusions. “Scott. Bro,” he finally gasps. “How could you even suggest that in good faith? No way! Bad plan!” He slashes his arms in a demonstrative X. “The only reason we’re even hooking up is that I made it super clear I was down to fuck, no strings attached! I’m not ruining a good thing by announcing to Derek Hale that I’m 85% in love with him.”

“Why?” Scott genuinely seems confused, the sweet summer child. After falling into a happy triad with Allison and Isaac after their first semester at UCLA, he doesn’t really understand the definition of “unrequited.”

Stiles turns his attention to a hanging thread on his t-shirt, sourly tugging it loose. “He’s out of my league. I mean, with the baseball, and the smarts, and the sarcasm, and those eyes…” he breaks off with a sigh. The last thing he needs to do is remind himself of how gone he is on Derek. “Just, he’s popular. Dictionary definition of too cool for school. And the three people he actually deigns to hang out with here are all just as cool and good looking as he is. Do I need to remind you I’m not? I’m a gawky, nerdy Sophomore. I’m lucky to even be his fuck-buddy.”

Scott makes a face, incredulous. “I dunno, he must like you well enough if he’s still sleeping with you after all this time. What’s it been, six months? And you guys hang out, too, you’re always telling me about how easy it is to chat with him after you bone. So it’s not just sex.”

Stiles grimaces. “Yeah, but it’s not…”

“… a real relationship,” Derek says into the phone, hearing full well the heavy dejection in his voice. So sue him; the admission is more than a little depressing. “He just wants to be fuck buddies.”

“How do you know?” Laura asks reasonably. “Maybe this Stiles person would be interested in dating you, too. No offence, but you’re not great at reading people. I mean, he’s interested in chilling with you even after you hook up, and clearly he enjoys the physical aspect. Did he actually ever say he wasn’t looking for more?”

Derek heaves a sigh, rolling his eyes even though she can’t see over the phone. “Yep. About two minutes after the first time we slept together he said, ‘no strings attached, obviously.’ So, you know, pretty safe bet that it’s no strings attached.”

“Oh,” Laura says. For once she doesn’t have a snappy comeback.

“Oh,” Derek agrees. Dejectedly.

She gives him a sympathetic little hum, and then asks, “and he’ll definitely be at the sorority barbecue?”

“Yeah.” Stiles and his broad shoulders and his long fingers are definitely going to be at the party.

“Maybe you shouldn’t go,” his sister says softly. “If you really like him, and he’s just looking to get laid…”

Derek groans. Not go, and give up a chance to hook up with Stiles? Smart, maybe, but not something he’s capable of doing.

The problem is, he’s liked Stiles forever. Or at least since he first saw him, laughing uproariously and running around with his friends with an actually broom between his legs, playing “Quidditch.” Derek would have been way too embarrassed to do something like that on the front lawn, but Stiles made it seem like the most effortlessly awesome thing a person could get up to.

No, compared to Stiles, Derek is practically a social recluse, an awkward jock with only about three people who he gets along with at all. Stiles definitely doesn’t want to get saddled with a boyfriend like him. He’s lucky they’re even hooking up after all this time.

“Derek, I mean it,” Laura says. “Look out for yourself for once.”

“I know, I know,” Derek grumbles. “But it’s not my fault he’s…”

Thoughts on OITNB Season 5

The Good:

  • This season was a lot of fun. I never felt bored, and the pacing was just right. They made roughly four days (I think?) last 13 episodes, but I don’t feel as though anything was dragged out.
  • Red on speed was fucking hilarious. So many great lines out of her this season. “In Russia, we don’t have proverbs. We have vodka and misery.”
  • Young Red back story!
  • Soso’s memorial to Poussey.
  • The subtle social commentary/anti-gun message in the premiere, where every time someone asked/talked about the gunfire a different American mass shooting was referenced. Needless to say, there was a lot.
  • Taystee taking the fucking microphone from Judy King.
  • Taystee repeating Poussey’s name over and over. Punching Caputo in the face for not doing so. A+
  • Taystee as a whole was pretty amazing this season, even if she eventually screwed everything up.
  • Linda becoming Boo’s girlfriend for five minutes but then ultimately getting completely fucked over.
  • Piper and Alex sticking mostly to mundane couple issues. Nothing hugely earth-shattering between the two of them. I was sick of the constant forced drama.
  • I feel like Piper made actual progress with her mother, and the fact that particular conversation lead to her impromptu proposal was awesome.
  • Nicky was clean, hilarious, and hot as hell. Couldn’t get enough of her this season, and loved seeing the real depths of her feelings for Lorna. The brief role reversal with her and Red was a fun trip as well.
  • Red and Blanca friendship was an unexpected treat.
  • FRIEDA
  • I could not love Gloria Mendoza more if I tried.
  • Alison was fleshed out, and I’m really starting to love her as a character.
  • Piper being a Slytherin, headcanon confirmed.
  • Caputo being a badass in his negotiations with Fig.
  • Chang peacing out.
  • Ending the season with The Cinematic Orchestra’s “To Build a Home” – a better song choice doesn’t exist. I have always associated that song with this show. Bravo. The last five minutes gave me chills.
  • Cindy singing Suzanne to sleep, then later Cindy hugging Suzanne, apologizing, crying. I loved it.

The Bad:

  • I feel like the overall message with Suzanne was scattered and poorly handled, and while Uzo did an amazing job with what she was given, I feel like the writing wasn’t necessarily realistic in that it hasn’t been tackled what exactly Suzanne’s mental illness is, purely so the writers can twist her symptoms to fit the plot.
  • Unlike most people I’m not mad about the Piscatella back-story, but it felt incomplete to me. I feel like there is not enough explanation there. What happened to Wes? It seemed like given some of what Piscatella said that there must have been some kind of betrayal there. Given that he’s dead, we’ll probably never find out, but I just felt like there were pieces missing to his story.
  • I feel like Daya fell flat this season. Her characterization was all over the place until she gave herself up and quietly disappeared.
  • Vinnie and Lorna are, as always, the cringiest. I guess that’s sort of the point, though.
  • I’m not sure what they were trying to do with the Nazis/Sankey? I don’t know if they were trying to endear us to them, but it felt…weird. Like their racism was purely situational and just seemed to disappear when it was convenient. I feel uncomfortable that they were played in a way that I wanted to like them, then felt horrified because Jesus, they’re FUCKING NAZIS
  • Black Lattes Matter would never be a meme
  • Sophia disappearing halfway through the season. Seriously? Her helping in medical was awesome. I would’ve loved to have seen more of that.

The Ugly:

  • Coates x Pennsatucky makes my fucking skin crawl. How can this be a thing? Why is this a thing? WHY IS SHE PAIRED WITH HER RAPIST AND WHY IS IT PORTRAYED AS CUTE?
  • The general rapeyness of how most of the male hostages were treated, mainly Stratman, Josh, and Luschyek. It dehumanized a lot of the girls for me and made me really uncomfortable.
  • Adding onto that: Angie and Leanne have become way too much. “I’ve raped guys before, and I could tell that was genuine.” What the fuck? Why did this need to be in there? I don’t understand how we are ever supposed to have any sympathy for these two ever again. Which is a shame with Leanne, because she has one of the more interesting back stories on the show.
  • Watching the guy who raped Wes Driscoll get burned alive was something I could’ve done without seeing. Hearing his screams would’ve been enough to get the point across.
  • Humps was creepy when he was alive, creepy when he was dying, and creepy upon death. Not sad to see him go.
  • Piscatella torturing Red in front of her girls…Alex’s arm getting snapped…that whole episode was amazingly handled, but it was still really difficult to watch.
  • Caputo getting trapped in the POO for so long was really gross and disturbing. The man was literally locked in a piss/shit/puke filled porta-potty for days in what I’m pretty sure is summer or early autumn.
  • Seriously, all of those guards are going to be permanently traumatized. What they were put through is sick.

TL;DR: This has been one of my favorite seasons yet, fun and brilliant, even if there’s an unfortunate amount of it I desperately wish I could un-see, and I feel some of it should have been handled differently.

To be young

Title: To be young

Pairing: Reader x Peter Parker

Summary: Y/N has lived next to Peter since the 3rd grade and since has fallen hard for him, but Y/N doesn’t know he’s fallen just as hard.

Songs: Midnight City by M83, Uh huh by Julia Michaels

A/N: This is my first Imagine ever so I’m sorry for the grammar mistakes and if i messed up the point of view a little bit, I’m practicing and heres my first go at it! I hope you guys enjoy it! Also its not a concrete idea yet but i might make more parts to this

“Hey, MJ does Peter ever talk about me?” you ask staring across the lunch room at the boy you’ve had a crush on ever since you laid eyes on him in the 3rd grade. You hear Michelle sigh and close her book “Y/N just go over there and talk to him.” your eyes widen at your best friend for suggesting such a thing. “I can’t just go over there and talk to him without cause, plus..” you sigh sinking further into your seat at the lunch table “he likes Liz, remember?” Just before Michelle can get a word in about your lack of confidence towards guys, the bell rings signaling the end of lunch and beginning of the five minuet passing period to the next class.

You quickly gather your things heading out of the lunchroom and to your next class, gym.

“Hey, Y/N wait up!” you hear the familiar voice of Liz speak as everyone makes their way out of the locker rooms and into the main gym. You falter in your walk just a little hearing Liz say your name, you haven’t ever really been friends or even acquaintances with her since knowing that Peter has a crush on the girl. “Yes?” you smile as she slows her pace next to you “I’m having a party tomorrow night at my place, do you wanna come?” your mind goes blank for a minuet, Liz is asking me to her party? what? “I already asked Michelle if she could come and she said you were free so i thought i’d ask.” Liz practically read your mind, so Michelle is to blame, she’s gonna pay. “Yea, sure I’ll come, it sounds fun.” She smiles before she runs off ahead of you. “Hey Flash,” You hear her shout before she vanishes into the crowd of teenagers.

“Alright, well i think he’s a war criminal now but these are state required so lets get to work .” The gym teacher spoke after the video of Captain America ended waving his hand for everyone to get down from the bleachers and take their places on the mats.

You finally spot Michelle in the crowd of teenagers and grabbed ahold of her arm before she could lay on a mat. “Hey could we be partners?” You ask letting go of your bestie laying on the mat, “Mind if we take this mat next to you guys?” A voice that made your heartstrings tingle spoke, you quickly turn your head to see Peter laying down and getting ready to go his first sit-up. “No-not at all.” you blush and turn on your other side to come face to face with a book “Michelle” You groan louder than intended, “We’re suppose to be doing sit-ups.” You grab the book tilting it away from her face, Michelle sighs and turns on her back pushing her book up and down from her face “There happy, I’m exercising now.” She mumbled making you laugh slightly.

“Hey what about Spider-Man?” You sit up and whip your head around to the bleachers where a certain group of popular girls were sitting, “What about him Liz? You got a crush?” a friend of hers teased, “Well I mean yes he’s pretty hot but he’s also a hero you can’t leave him out.” You could see a slight pink shade her cheeks after she spoke.

“Hey, uh Peter knows Spider-Man!” Ned practically yelled from the mat next to you, what? how does Peter know Spider-Man? I mean maybe he got saved by him? But what? You were pulled from your thoughts when Peter spoke, “Well Uh  we-wel yes i do, because of the Stark internship i have but i’m not suppose to talk about it.” Peter spoke through gritted teeth when he ended his sentence. “Wait Penis Parker knows Spider-Man? And has a Stark internship? Wow this is too good, what other lies ya got?” Flash finally joined the conversation. You sighed and turned your attention back to laying down and staring at the ceiling till the end of the period.

“Well if you know him so well why don’t you invite him to Liz’s party tomorrow night?” Flash asked sarcasm clear in his voice, “Wait-wait Liz is having a party?” You perked up again at the sound of Peter’s slightly hurt voice. “Yeah, tomorrow night, my parents are out of town, you and Ned are more than welcome to come and you don’t gotta bring Spider-Man.” You could practically hear the smile in Peters voice when he replied “No-No yeah I’d love to come.” You rolled your eyes and tried to drown out the rest of the conversation.

“Okay, see ya tomorrow.” Liz spoke before the bell rang, finally. You make your way back to the locker room and change out of the gym uniform and into your regular clothes.

Well tomorrow night should be interesting, I wonder if Peter really knows Spider-Man you smile at the thought, that’d be fucking awesome.

Michelle and you took the bus together after school planning on having a sleepover and carpooling to Liz’s party the next day. “I can’t believe you already said i would go without asking me.” you lightly punch Michelle on the arm while getting ready for bed. “Hey what better things do you have going on tomorrow, staring at peter though the peep hole of your apartment again?” Michelle teased, you gasped and placed your hand on your heart pretending to be hurt by the comment. “Michelle that is an important activity and I cannot miss it.” You dramatically said and plopped down onto your bed for the night, the couch. Michelle and you always sleep on her couch for sleepovers, its big enough and comfy as hell.

“Oh whatever Y/N.” she groaned taking her place on the couch and turning on the tv. Within minuets your eyes start to get heavy, you finally give into the sleep tugging at you and fall asleep.

“Thanks for the ride!” you shout at Michelle’s dad before Michelle slams the car door shut. MJ and you start towards the front door already hearing the loud music coming from inside. “Michelle are you sure about this?” You ask grabbing her arm forcing her to stop and look at you “Look Y/N, when are you ever gonna do something like this ever again. Plus, its all apart of the high school experience.” She shrugged making her way to the front door and inside with you trailing behind her.

You were immediately greeted by Liz and shown the way to the kitchen “incase you need something to drink” Liz told you leaving you and focused her attention back onto the party. “Ok so now I Just wait for something to happen?” you spoke to yourself as you grabbed a red solo cup and filled it with water from the fridge. You made your way out of the kitchen and to the couch in the living room, where did MJ go? I’m like the only other person besides Liz she knows here so where - your thoughts were interrupted when your eyes met with the chocolatey eyes of the boy you’ve been waiting for all night.

You smile towards Peter earning a grin back from him before his attention was sent somewhere else, probably Flash shouting “wheres your friend Spider-man? I don’t see him..” You rolled your eyes and made your way over to the duo standing in the middle of the hallway, “Hey hey guys,” you nervously spoke “Finally made it.” you smiled over at Ned, his attention on the rest of the party and not you. “Yeah we got-” Peter got interrupted by a shout from the family room “If you wanna play a game come to the family room now!” you felt a hand wrap around your arm before you could protest you were in the family room seated next to Liz, Peter diagonally across from you with ned next to him and Michelle on your other side.

“Alright,” you heard Liz speak next to you “what game should we play.” a couple of hands flew up in the air and some people shouted suggestions. “How about Seven Minuets In Heaven?!” one voice shouted louder than the others, you looked over at Liz to see she was already ginning with a bottle being handed to her. “Seven Minuets In Heaven it is.” She quickly snapped her head over at you “Y/N, you spin first.” she shoved the bottle into your hand.

“No-no I’m really fine-” you didnt get to finish when you felt a sharp pain in your side from Michelle, your head spun to her side giving her a “what the hell!” look and receiving a shrug in response. You sucked in a breath, all apart of the high school experience right? you tried to reason with yourself. You put the bottle on its side on the ground and spun it, your heat begins beating faster and faster as it comes to a slow down. The bottle finally comes to a stop and your eyes rake up to where it landed, Peter Parker.

You gulped waiting for his reaction as people around him whopped for him but he just sat there eyes wide. “come one you too!” Liz sounded so gleeful and lightly shoved my shoulder for me to get up. Peter must’ve took that as a hint as well and stood up “Wher-uh What closet should we go to?” Peter asked clearing his voice. “the one right at the top of the stairs, we’ll make sure no one goes in.” Liz smiled at Peter and you while you made your way up the stairs. Oh god, what am i going to do, what if he doesn’t want to do anything with me? what if he kisses me and I’m not a good kisser or my breathe stinks- you were ripped out of your thoughts as the closet door was closed and Peter and you were left in the dark.

“uh we-we don’t have to do anything.” you whispered barely audible as you watched Peter set a timer on his phone for seven minuets. “Wh-why don’t we ask each other questions?” Peter asked making a blush creep onto your face, thank god this closet is dark and peters phone light is horrible. “sure-e” you nervously stutter, “you first.” you poke his chest earning a small laugh from him. “Okay, is it true that you have a 4.0 grade average?” You couldn’t help the laugh that  escaped your lips, “What?” Peter asked you could hear the confusion in his voice, “thats the question you wanna ask?” you placed your hand on Peters arm, what am I doing? I’m movign way too fast, “Is that bad?” Peter moved closer to you making you back up into the wall of the closet, your smile fading and a deeper bush replacing it. “uh-no no, I’d just rather not answer it.” You spoke truthfully, “alright,” you could see the smile form on peters face as he inched closer to you.

“your turn.” he whispered making your breath hitch in your throat, he’s so close, if i just move forward slightly i’d finally have my first kiss and with the guy of my dreams, you thought. “you got a question yet?” Peters smile started fading looking into your eyes, “uh- yes, did you really make your own computer?” your eyes scanned peters, he’s so close you can see his beautiful brown ombre iris’s, dark brown to a slightly lighter brown. Your breath hitched in your throat again as Peter flashed his eyes down to your lips for a split second. You start to lean into him, closer and closer to his face when your lips just barely graze each other and then Peters phone goes off.

He jumped back slightly from the sudden noise and looked down at his phone, “Has it already been seven minuets?” You laugh slightly feeling embarrassed for getting so intimate with Peter. “No..” he paused looking up from his phone and into your eyes “But i gotta, I’m really sorry Y/N, I gotta go.” He shook his head slightly before opening the closet and leaving you behind. you stood there shocked, not able to move. Peter and I almost kissed was all you could think as a deep blush crept back onto your face.

You exited the closet and went to see if you could find him at the party anywhere. you got a few weird looks after asking some people if they saw him anywhere but no one could help, not even Ned knew where Peter went.

“Well it’s too bad, we didn’t even get to see his ‘friend’ Spider-Man.” Flash spoke sarcastically to you, you just turned around to go look for MJ and tell her about what had happened, how you almost kissed your life long crush and how he almost kissed you back.

GoTG Meet Avengers

Peter stares, watching them all a little blankly. By his side, Tony has his head in his hands. He’s been groaning for the past twenty seconds.

“So… you went on a ten-year murder spree where you joined a terror organisation of your own free will in order to kill Tony, who wasn’t even responsible for the death of your parents in the first place- and then decide that just Tony isn’t murderous enough for you, and go for the rest of his team for some reason, too?”

Across the room, Wanda bristles. “It wasn’t like-”

“And then your team leader let you on the team you were trying to murder? Almost immediately after the one single fight you helped them with?” Gamora interrupts. Her eyes are cold and dangerous.

Steve opens his mouth to defend himself, but Drax cuts in. “And you,” he gestures harshly at clint, “you were willing to abandon your family and get yourself arrested, just so you could involve yourself in a matter that did not concern you anyway?”

“You think I wanted to be arrested? That was all Tony-” Clint begins, but Drax roars, and Clint rears back, eyes wide and hand reaching for the bow at his hip.

“TONY STARK DID NOT FORCE YOU TO BREAK YOUR LAWS! I WAS PUT IN JAIL BECAUSE I FOUGHT FOR MY FAMILY, NOT-”

“Drax, stay calm. These people are breakable,” Gamora warns, although she is staring at them all as if she wants nothing better than to let Drax get himself worked up over them.

“You know, Tony has only been giving you his view on everything that happened,” Steve counters. He’s looking at Tony like… like he’s disappointed in him, and that’s enough to get Rocket yelling angrily.

“Oh, so you sayin’ you didn’t tear the team he invested his time, his love, his effort into, apart- all so you could save a guy that Tony had offered to rehabilitate in the first place anyway? Or what about the fact you didn’t tell him that your best bud murdered his parents? That a lie too?” He snarls, and on his shoulder, Groot’s arms are slowly growing, pricklier and heavier- he can feel the weight on his shoulders.

“I think everyone needs to calm down, here-” Sam begins, but Gamora silences him, knuckles cracking as she steps forward.

Sam, wisely, takes a step back.

“You do not get to talk- not when you chose to put your trust in a man you met for three seconds, whilst he was breaking into Tony’s compound, over the actual Avenger and team-mate himself,” she hisses, hands thrown up into the air as she turns to face all of them now.

“You sicken me. I may fight and argue and be frustrated with my team- but at the end of the day, they are still my family. They are still the people I would trust without a second thought,” she shoots a glare at Sam, “who I would always tell the truth to, even if it hurts,” Steve looked at the floor, jaw set in a grim line, “and who I would never, ever ask to be on the same team as a woman who subdued them to their worst fears and tried to kill them. I would rather die.”

She spat on the floor, and then turned away. “I am going back to the ship. You may continue your discussions if you must, but I am finished. I will only kill one of them if this continues.”

“That would be a shame,” Drax says quietly, his voice low and threatening.

Tony, who spent the majority of the conversation absolutely silent, speaks up at that point. “Hey! Drax used sarcasm!”

No one laughs. He goes back to holding his head in his hand.

Peter just looks slightly sick. His hand is wrapped very, very tightly around Tony’s.

“You know that post of text that Tony showed us a few weeks ago? He called it a… a me-me? With the breadsticks and the asshole date?” Rocket pipes up after a few seconds of silence, gun still spinning ominously in his fingers. “I think it’s time for us to shove Tony in our spaceship and say we have to go, right now, immediately.”

Despite everything, Tony lets a huff of laughter escape at that. Peter- seeming to suddenly snap out of his horrified trance- nods his head approvingly, beginning to tug on Tony’s hand. “Yes. I agree. Wonderful though this diplomatic meeting of teams was, I’m afraid we have urgent business to attend to. We have to… show Tony… something awesome.”

“Yes. LOVE, AFFECTION AND VALIDATION!” Drax roars again, curling an arm around Tony’s shoulders and placing the most violent and angry kiss possible on top of his hair.

“Later, losers!” Rocket calls out, sticking his middle finger up behind him and then turning to punch Tony’s thigh gently before scarpering back to the ship.

Groot hops down from Rocket and then latches on to Tony’s forearm, clambering up his arm until he was resting on Tony’s shoulder instead. Tony glances over at him and grins happily. He’s always had a bit of a soft spot for Groot.

“hey,” he whispers, as the tiny tree alien quickly began to grow a few flowers, and then plucked them off his hand and tucked them into Tony’s hair. “I am Groot,” he whispers right back in reply.

Tony smiles, rolling his eyes. “Yeah yeah, I know. Don’t worry about them- I left them behind a long time ago.”

Steve hears that. He looks at tony for a long time, his eyes a little sad and regretful.

Tony just stares right back, and then raises his eyebrows and shrugs, adjusting the beginning of the flower-crown Groot was making for him.

“Call me the next time it gets too much for you guys to handle,” he calls out after them, as Peter and Drax both steer him hurriedly back toward the ship and away from his old team.

Groot giggles on his shoulder, and then places another flower behind his ear. “I am Groot!”

“I agree,” Tony says, just as Peter nods his own approval, gently bumping their shoulders together. “Let’s go and play Space-Tag.”

First avengers fic please be nice

“Y/n can you come here please?” Natasha called from somewhere on this floor.

Where on this floor was a completely different matter.

“Where is ‘here’, Nat?” I called back, standing from my bedroom floor.

“My room,” she shouted. “I need your help with something,”

I stepped out of my room into the dark hallway, and stealthily made my way to Natasha’s room. just casually using my shadow abilities to blend in with the darkness and travel through the shadows to get to Natasha’s room faster.

“What do you need?” I leant on her door frame after stepping out of the shadows and watched as she awkwardly tried to assemble a step under her light. “What are you doing?”

“I’m trying to change the light bulb but someone’s taken the ladder and I’m small,” she huffed as she stacked another book onto the pile of crap in the middle of her room.

I felt someone walked behind me and saw Bucky and Steve headed down the hallway. I caught Steve by the arm, making him stop.

“Y’know Nat,” I said, dragging Steve into the room. “I can’t help you change your light, but the Star Spangled Man With A Plan Sure Can,”

I smiled like a goofus as they both stared at me and Bucky snorted before continuing down the hall giggling to himself.

“You’re so proud of your shitty jokes aren’t you?” Natasha laughed finally.

“Actually I’m just proud of getting that whole sentence out without fucking it up,” I grinned before skipping out of the room. and back into the darkness.

“You guys swear so much,” I heard Steve mutter.

The following night we’d all settled in the huge living room to hang out and watch a movie.

I couldn’t remember the name of the movie but it had dragons which was cool.

“Hey Tony,” I called across the room.

“Yeah?” he said through a mouthful of popcorn.

“Can you get a tanning bed for the tower?” I asked.

Natasha laughed and Sam choked on his drink at the randomness of my question.

“Y/n we go outside daily what the hell for?” Tony chuckled at me.

“I wanna force Steve into it so I can called him The Star Spangle Man With A Tan,” I said plainly, succeeding in holding in my laughter.

Clint clearly wasn’t trying as hard as me as he burst into a fit of giggles on the couch.

Bucky laughed and muttered something that sounded like “eat it Steve” But I couldn’t be sure.

Steve just shook his head turned the volume on the movie up.

The next day we went on a mission was the best I’d ever been on because Steve just kept finding himself in positions where I could take the piss.

The first was in the gym that morning we were working on an agility warm up game and Steve was explaining what he wanted us to do.

“First you’re going to run the beam while dodging swinging punching bags,” He pointed to one end of the room where that course was set up. “Then you have to make it over the sponge pit via the money bars and avoid being hit with a dodge ball, and then you will climb over the A frame, rescue the ‘civilian’ and carry them back down to safety all the while being attacked by ‘Villains’”

“What’s the catch?” I crossed my arms as I looked at the very easy course.

“You have to make it from here,” he gesture to the start of the track, and still keeping his first arm up he pointed to the end with the other. “To there in 30 seconds or less,”

I noticed he still had his arms both out pointing at each end of the course.

I nudged Natasha in the arm and chuckled.

“Star Spangled Man With A Wide Arm Span” I stifled my laugh through one hand while pointing at Steve with the other.

“Y/n your time limit is now 20 seconds,” Steve huffed before hitting the buzzer and Clint began running the course.

The Second time was when we were first out on our mission and some bad guys were fuckin shit up down-town with alien weapons.

A woman was cornered between some cars that had collided and a man with a very strange looking gun that blasted purple plasma rays.

I sank down into the shadow cast by the building I stood behind and traveled to the shadow under the cars behind the the man with the plasma gun.

Sliding out from under the car I kicked my leg out and brought him to the ground, elbowed him in the nose and took his gun.

While he lay squirming in pain on the ground I took the womans hand and began running as fast as I could drag her away from the man. Tossing the gun up to one of Tony’s uninhabited suits.

“Cap where are you?” I shouted into the coms.

“Be by your side in a second,” his voice rang in my ear. “Don’t move,”

I stopped running and withing second Steve landed on the hood of one of the bad guys cars right next to me and the woman, holding a couple more of the alien guns.

“Give me the guns,” I said. “I’ll take them to the suits,”

He tossed the guns to me and I squealed.

“DON’T THROW A PLASMA RAY AT SOMEONE YOU DOLT!” I shouted.

I secured my grip on the guns and turned to the woman.

“Hi are you okay?” I asked her. “I’m Shadow what’s your name?”

“I’m fine,” she said breathless, clearly ecstatic that she’d been saved by the avengers. “My name is Anne,”

“Ugh YES” I was suddenly so very happy.

The woman looked very confused.

“Star Spangled Man, Look After Anne,” I shouted as I shoved the woman into Caps arms and dove into another shadow before he could retaliate.

The last was when he was chasing a bad guy and was thrown back through the window of a bakery.

I fly kicked the bad guy into the wall and he slumped to the ground out cold.

“Cap you okay?” I called as I climbed through the shattered window frame to see a few customers helping him stand.

The owner of the bakery came around the counter with a pastry dish in her hands and gave it to me.

I mean we just smashed through the wall of her shop surely it’s not a thank you?

Cap and I exited the bakery and were met by Hawkeye and Black Widow looking at us.

“Whatcha got there?” Clint eyed the pastry dish in my hands.

It was now that I realised what it was. Immediately I handed it to Steve.

“The Star Spangled Man With A Fruit Flan,” I put my hands on my hips and grinned proudly so wide my eyes were squinted shut.

My happy streak didn’t last very long because something impacted with the top of my head and I was suddenly very cold.

And sticky.

I opened my eyes and wiped custard out of my eyes.

“Did you just dump a perfectly good fruit flan on my head?” I turned and growled at Steve.

“Dude we could’ve eaten that,” Clint whined.

Steve just smiled with pride that could have mirrored my own.

For the next week or so there was no joke I could have used at the right time so I just had to wait for the right opportunity.

One finally came along.

Cap and Black Widow were sent on a small mission and I was bored so I followed them in the shadows.

During a scuffle between Cap and one of the targets, Cap was thrown from a 2 story roof and smashed into the roof of a parked (and thankfully empty) minivan.

I immediately pulled out my phone and snapped an unflattering photo of the scene and sank back into the shadows and portalled home.

I sat waiting for their return in the living room ready to project my photo onto the largest screen in the room. As soon as the walked in I called all the other to join me.

“Guys, guys,” I was shaking with excitement.

“oh god what did you do?” Bucky sighed with a laugh as I hopped back and forth from one foot to the other.

“I snapped a really awesome photo,” I half squealed.

I clicked the button that projected what was on my phone to the tv screen and held my hands out in a presenting manner.

“Ta-daaa!” I smiled and looked around the room at the confused faces of my team.

“What exactly am I looking at?” Tony asked.

“It’s The Star Spangled Man In A Minivan,” I yelled happily.

“How did you even get that picture?” Steve looked astonished. “Did you follow us?”

“No that would be creepy,” I giggled before sinking into the shadow in the floor and traveling into the hallway.

“I don’t think anything will ever be as creepy as seeing a smiling chick sink into the floor,” I heard Clint shiver.

I woke up a few days later to F.R.I.D.A.Y telling my that I’d overslept and breakfast was being made in the kitchen where the others had already gathered.

I shot out of bed and ran out of my room, very annoyed at the well lit rooms and hallways that I could’t shadow travel through.

“Please be Steve, please be Steve,” I chanted to myself as I sprinted down the hallway and jogged on the spot in the elevator to the recreation floor.

I got a number of odd looks from the team who were all assembled around the breakfast table when I burst into the kitchen very short of breath.

Much to my joy, I was greeted by the beautiful sight of Steve frying bacon and eggs on the electric stove.

I failed to control my laboured breathing and huffed my way to the island bench, awkwardly posing on the edge of the counter with a smug grin.

“Y/n please don-” Steve looked so done but I cut him off.

“Star Spangled Man With A Pan,” I wheezed with a proud smile.

“Damnit!” Clint beat his fist down on the table, startling most of the team. “I’ve been trying to thinkof one for ages I can’t be;live I missed that,”

“Get your own joke Katniss,” I giggled, siting on the bar stool and winking at Steve.

“You’re not getting any bacon,” he grumbled and plated some for everyone but me.

Love Inversion Theory

A Peter Parker/Tom Holland Fic

Next!

A/n: I came up with the idea while eating dinner last night and I seemed super original and awesome for some reason. I tried to make it not confusing soooo hopefully we’re good! Maybe a part two if people want it? I’ll probably do another anyways, though.

“Inversion can be defined as the reversal of something or as an inverted state of an object.”

Peter watched while you sat with a young boy surrounded by text books and papers. The date you had been on abruptly took halt when you suddenly remembered that you had a tutoring session with your friend Betty Brandt’s little brother.

It was a rare moment for Peter; for once the date had to be paused because of something normal. Something not Spider-Man related. Admittedly, that was better than him exclaiming “Jump into this alley!” for purposes that were not for making out and more for super changes. Those super changes somehow managed to worm their way into the regular routine of a date. Before, when being Spider-Man and being a boyfriend was too hard to balance, you and Peter talked about breaking up. “We both love one another,” you said solemnly, “but we never have time to be together.”

The both of you tried it out; not actually breaking up, but doing a “break up trial.”

You spent a day not talking to each other-no texting or snapchats either-and no hugs between class. Nothing.

And both of you cried by the end of the day.

So that was totally out of the question.

Eventually you guys got the hang of it. Assigning roof tops to meet on during Spider-Man breaks, Skype calls during “Stark Interning” hours courtesy of the teched-up suit, whom Peter for some reason called Karen. You thought that was kind of weird but you rolled with it, choosing to not ask questions you didn’t really want the answers too.

So seriously, neither of you could survive a break up. Hell, you didn’t even like when Peter went to the Academic Decathlon last year, leaving you in New York. “I’m just,” you had said between kisses, “too in love-with you- to break up.”

“I know-” he agreed between kisses, “I feel-the same-way.”

From awkwardly asking you to the homecoming dance freshmen year, to finding out his secret, the connection between you two just grew stronger every day.

“So,” he heard you wrapping up, “does that make more sense?”

The fourth grader nodded his head. Together, you and Peter both walked the boy out where his sister, Betty, was waiting with a car to drive him home. “Still can’t believe she chopped all her hair off,” you said through your teeth while smiling and waving at the pair drive off, hoping she couldn’t tell you were talking about her. “She looked so much better with it long.” You massaged your mouth when the Brandt siblings were out of sight.

“I’m really sorry, Tiger Lily. I can’t believe I forgot about him!” you suddenly exclaimed. Peter held your hands. “Don’t worry about it,” he said assuringly, “it’s not like the day is over. We spent about thirty minutes with tutoring, that’s hardly anything compared to ‘us.’“

You laughed. “‘Us’? How long is ‘us’?” you asked, using light air quotes for emphasis.

“Forever,” Peter smiled. You blushed. “Parker…you have me wrapped around your finger,” you grinned before pulling him in for a chaste kiss.

Dead Girl Walking (Connor Murphy X Reader)

Warnings: Steamy content (well, the title gives that away)

Summary: Connor and Y/N get cast as JD and Veronica in their college production of Heathers. This doesn’t help the crush Y/N has been harbouring on Connor since freshman year of high school.

Tagged: @lildipstick @bellasabb @ahhhhamilton

A/N: Here it is!! This was partially inspired by some requests I got for this, and partially inspired by my Heathers!AU with @memeing-through-a-window

“Hello everyone! To those of you who do not take drama as a class, I am Mr Reyes. I will be directing this production.” Mr Reyes said, and there was a spattering of applause across the auditorium.

“Now, I’m sure you’re all dying to find out your roles in our upcoming production of Heathers. Here we go.” Mr Reyes said, and everyone inhaled sharply.

I crossed my fingers and looked over at my best friend Zoe, her eyes shut tightly in anticipation.

“In the role of Martha Dunnstock, Alana Beck.” Mr Reyes said and we all clapped politely, looking at Alana who was smiling brightly.

“The role of Kurt Kelly goes to Jake Dillinger, and Ram Sweeney goes to Richard Goranski.” A celebratory whoop came from a few rows back, and I chuckled at the boys’ reaction.

“The roles of Mr Kelly and Mr Sweeney will go to Michael Mell and Jeremy Heere.” I smirked slightly, knowing that Mr Reyes was slightly sneaky with his casting of those roles.

“Mr and Mrs Sawyer will be played by Chloe Valentine and Brooke Lohst.” I clapped softly, glancing over at the pair.

“And now, onto the Heathers themselves. Due to the lack of women interested in this production, we have had to give some of our Heathers to the men.” Mr Reyes said, and I snorted, drawing some attention.

“Heather McNamara will be played by Evan Hansen, and Heather Duke will be played by Jared Kleinman. Heather Chandler, our only female Heather, will be played by Zoe Murphy.” Mr Reyes said, and I squeezed Zoe’s hand.

She was smiling widely, and I knew she was going to crush it as Heather Chandler.

“The lovely Christine Canigula will be playing Ms Fleming.” Christine beamed at Mr Reyes, and I felt very happy for her.

“This leaves our two leading roles. Jason Dean will be played by Connor Murphy, and Veronica Sawyer goes to Y/N Y/L/N! Congratulations to you all.” Mr Reyes said, and I looked over at Connor, my eyes wide.

I’d been crushing on Connor since freshman year of high school, and here we are, freshman year of college, and those feelings haven’t gone away.

“Now, rehearsals will start next Wednesday, so be ready. The original cast recording is somewhere online, so listen to it. That’s all.” Mr Reyes said, ushering us out of the auditorium.

As soon as we were out the double doors, I was bombarded with various congratulations.

“You’re so lucky, oh my god.” Zoe said, wrapping me in a side hug. I felt my cheeks go pink, and I smiled gratefully at her.

“Thanks. I do, however, have to have fake sex with your brother onstage. You know how I feel about him, Zo.” I said and Zoe cackled, throwing her head back.

“Well, let’s just say things might end up working out for you two.” She said, winking at me. My cheeks went a brighter pink, and I went to say something, but was interrupted by someone coughing.

I whirled around to see Connor standing there, his hair partially covering his face.

“Hey Y/N. Can I talk to you for a sec?” Connor asked and I nodded, glancing back briefly at Zoe.

Connor shot me a half smile, and walked away. I trailed behind him, jogging slightly.

“So, what’s up?” I asked, catching my breath a little. Connor rocked back and forth on his heels, and I frowned slightly.

“Well, I was just wondering, seeing as we’re going to be spending a lot of time together onstage and in rehearsals, if maybe you wanted to go grab some lunch with me?” Connor asked, wringing his hands together.

My cheeks went a bright shade of pink, and I nodded eagerly. “Absolutely. I mean, yeah, of course.” I said, realising I was probably coming on too strong.

“Awesome. I’ll, uh, meet you here at 12. Today.” Connor said and I smiled brightly at him.
“Bye Y/N.” He said, and I waved him off.

“Bye Connor.”

“You guys are coming along incredibly. Everyone except Y/N and Connor can go.” Mr Reyes said, and I glanced over at Connor awkwardly.

Everyone else trailed out of the auditorium, until it was just Connor, Mr Reyes and I left.

“Now, I thought you two would appreciate not having everyone else in the room for this next song.” Mr Reyes said and I gulped, looking at Connor with wide eyes.

“I think you two both know which song I’m talking about. We won’t go through the full choreography just yet, but we still need to start rehearsing it.” Mr Reyes said, patting the both of us on the shoulder.

I took in a deep breath and walked up onto the stage, fidgeting with my blazer. I wasn’t in my proper costume, but I was wearing an outfit that resembled my costume.

“From the top, you two.” Mr Reyes said, pressing play on the music. It started playing and I bit my lip.

“The demon queen of high school has decreed it. She says Monday eight am, I’ll be deleted.” I sang, glancing over at Connor briefly.

“They’ll hunt me down in study hall. Stuff and mount me on the wall. Thirty hours to live, how shall I spend them?” I sang, walking forward a little.

“I don’t have to stay and die like cattle. I could change my name and ride up to Seattle. But I don’t own a motorbike.” I looked up at Connor, who was now lying down on the raised platform.

“Wait. Here’s an option that I like. Spend these thirty hours getting freaky! I need it hard, I’m a dead girl walking. I’m in your yard, I’m a dead girl walking.” I sang, walking up the platform stairs.

“Before they punch my clock, I’m snapping off your window lock. Got no time to knock, I’m a dead girl walking.” I sang, standing in front of Connor, who was now on his feet.

“Veronica. What are you doing in my room?” Connor asked, and I shushed him, waving my hand about wildly. Mr Reyes chuckled, and I took in a deep breath.

“Sorry, but I really had to wake you. See, I’ve decided I must ride you till I break you.” Connor’s eyes widened at this line, and Mr Reyes’ laughter increased.

“Heather says I gots to go, you’re my last meal on death row. Shut your mouth, and lose them tightie whities. C'mon!” I sang, undoing my blazer.

“Tonight I’m yours, I’m your dead girl walking. Get on all fours, kiss this dead girl walking.” I said, shoving Connor down by his shoulders.

“Let’s go, you know the drill. I’m hot, and pissed, and on the pill. Bow down to the will of a dead girl walking.” I sang, trying to keep my voice even as Connor’s hands crept up near the hem of my skirt.

I crouched down, looking Connor in the eye. I noticed that one of his eyes was coloured differently, and I felt my heart lurch.

“And you know, you know, you know. It’s cause you’re beautiful. You say you’re numb inside, but I can’t agree.” I sang, putting my hands on Connor’s chest.

His chest was surprisingly firm, and his face was rapidly reddening. “So the world’s unfair. Keep it locked out there. In here it’s beautiful. Let’s make this beautiful.”

“That works for me.” I pressed my lips to Connor’s, and kissed him with fervour. He kissed back eagerly, and I pulled off my blazer, still keeping our lips together.

I pulled off his shirt, and I let out a gasp at the sight of his bare chest. I pulled away from the kiss, and noticed Connor’s eyes cloud with something dark.

I pushed him down so he was on his back, and I was straddling him, my legs wrapped tightly around his waist.

I started kissing his neck and moved my lips further down his chest, kissing furiously.

“Yeah! Full steam ahead, take this dead girl walking.” I sang, reluctantly pulling away from Connor.

“How’d you find my address?” Connor sang, sitting up slightly.

“Let’s break the bed, rock this dead girl walking!” I sang, throwing my arms up in the air.

“I think we tore my mattress.” Connor sang, glancing towards the ground.

“No sleep tonight for you. Better chug that Mountain Dew.” I sang, getting a good look at Connor. His eyes wide, his cheeks flushed and his hair mused.

“Okay, okay.” He sang quietly, earning a chuckle from Mr Reyes.

“Get your ass in gear. Make this whole town disappear.”

“Okay, okay.” Connor sang, his voice stronger this time.

“Slap me.” Connor stage slapped me at this line, and my cheek tingled at the contact.

“Pull my hair.” Connor tugged my head back by my hair, and tangled his fingers in my hair.

“Touch me there, and there, and there.” My breath hitched as Connor’s hands roamed over my ass and breasts.

“No more talking. Love this dead girl walking.” I sang, hitting the high note with ease. Connor sang his part with ease, and I drank in the sight of him beneath me.

“Love this dead girl! Yeah, yeah, yeah!” We both sang together, our bodies harmonising perfectly.

“Ow!” Connor said, grimacing slightly.

“Yeah!” We both sang, and I was surprised at how well Connor could sing. The music concluded, and we were both panting.

Mr Reyes applauded, and I felt the heat rush to my cheeks. “Very well done, you two! You have excellent chemistry, I must say.” Mr Reyes said, as I awkwardly clambered off Connor.

We picked up our clothes and pulled them back on, smiling as we walked off the stage.

“I’ll see you at Friday’s rehearsal. I can’t stress how good that performance was, especially for a rehearsal.” Mr Reyes said as we left the auditorium.

The doors slammed shut behind us, and the air became thick with awkwardness. “I, uh.” I stammered, my cheeks burning.

“I’ll, um, see you on Friday.” Connor muttered, walking away quickly staring at the ground as he did.

“Opening night, people! I just wanted to congratulate you all on your work over the past couple of months, so, congratulations!” Mr Reyes said, applauding us.

I fidgeted anxiously with my costume, the indigo scarf I was wearing seeming to weigh a ton.

“Hey, Y/N, you ok?” Connor asked, and I turned on my heel to face him. The dark costume of JD suited him perfectly, and I felt seriously attracted to him.

“I’m really nervous. What if I screw up? What if I can’t hit one of the high notes? Ugh.” I said, running a hand through my hair.

“Hey, hey, look at me.” Connor said, placing his hands gently on my shoulders. I looked up at him, noticing the stage makeup that accented his already beautiful features.

“You are going to knock this out of the park. Your voice is absolutely stunning, and I have the utmost faith in you and your abilities.” Connor said, moving his hands from my shoulders to my cheeks.

I felt my cheeks flush, and I noticed Connor’s cheeks were a similar colour. “Thanks.” I muttered, looking right into Connor’s eyes.

He rubbed circles on my cheek with his thumb, and I took in a deep breath. I leaned forward and connected my lips with Connor’s.

His eyes widened briefly, but he closed them quickly, kissing back eagerly. I tangled my hands in Connor’s hair, tugging on it gently.

He let out a groan, and he moved his hands to my waist, pulling me closer to him. Suddenly we heard a cough and pulled apart, turning to see where the cough had come from.

We saw Zoe standing there in full costume, a smirk wide on her face. “God, Veronica, drool much?” She said and I snorted, glancing up at Connor.

“It’s not like I’m throwing my panties at him, Heather.” I said, and I noticed Connor freeze momentarily.

“Oh, but you will be soon enough.” Zoe said, winking at the two of us. She walked off with a perfected strut, and I let out a sigh.

“She’s the worst.” Connor muttered and I chuckled, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.

“She’s not that bad, Con.” I said, wrapping my arms around his neck.

“My god, I love you so much.”

Peter’s eyes fluttered open and he sat up, still in that shipping container. “Ow, my head.” He rubbed his head as he stood to his feet.

“You appear to have a mild concussion,” the suit said.

“Hey,” he looked around the container. “Where am I right now?”

“I am not sure. The walls are hindering my sensors.”

“Wait a minute,” he whispered. “They must have hijacked the truck and taken me to their evil lair. Okay, suit lady. We are going to have to fight our way out of this one.”

He turned and counted down to three before slamming his body into the doors of the container, breaking them open. He quickly stood up and took in his new surroundings. It was just a brightly lit warehouse with hundreds of shipping containers like the one Peter was in.

“What is this place?” Peter asked, noticing nobody was around. “Suit lady, where am I?”

“You’re in the most secure facility on the eastern seaboard, The Damage Control Deep Storage Vault.”

“No!” Peter said, looking at the giant cemented walls around him. He placed his hands on his head and groaned in frustration. “Seriously?”

He went over to what seemed to be the large door and tried prying it open. “The door will most likely remained closed until morning,” the suit stated. Peter kicked the wall gently.

“Morning?” He made himself a makeshift hammock out of his webbing between two shipping containers and lay in it. “Hey suit lady? I kinda feel bad calling you suit lady, you know? I should probably give you a name, like Y/N.” He immediately shook the thought from his head. “No, no, no, god that’s–that’s weird.”

He jumped down and lazily swung from one of his webs. He was so impatient, it was driving him crazy. Why wouldn’t the door just open already?

“What about Karen?” He let go of the web and fell onto the ground softly.

“You can call me Karen. If you would like,” she said happily. Peter hung upside down and read from his textbook.

“Hey, Karen. What else can this suit do?” A second later, webbed wings appeared from under his arms. He gasped in disbelief. “What?”

He gasped down at his web shooters, now observing them and all the different combinations. He let out a hum and put on his Decathlon yellow jacket uniform.

“Maybe we should run that refresher course,” he said to himself. He had plenty of time.

“Ricochet web,” Karen said.

“Ricochet webs,” Peter repeated. He tried it out and the web shot into a ball, hitting the wall and bouncing straight back at him. He quickly ducked.

“Slender webs.” Long webs shot out from his wrist, falling to the ground. “Web grenade.” Peter tossed one to the wall, yelling the name before it exploded into webs. He was having fun.

After his refresher course, Peter lay on top of one of the shipping containers, staring at the ceiling. “Should I tell Y/N that I am Spiderman?”

“Who’s Y/N?”

“Whos’s Y/N?” He chuckled to himself, smiling like a giddy schoolboy under the mask. “She’s uh–she’s the best. She’s awesome. She is just a girl who goes to my school. We kinda grew up together. And yeah–I really wanna tell her but it’s kinda weird, you know? Hey, I-I’m Spiderman.”

“What’s weird about that?”

“Well what if she is expecting someone like Tony Stark? I mean, imagine how disappointed she would be when she sees me,” Peter explained.

“Well, if I was her, I wouldn’t be disappointed at all,” Karen said sweetly.

“Thanks Karen. It’s really nice to have someone to talk to.” He looked around. “Hey, how long have we been here anyways?”

“Thirty-seven minutes,” Karen stated.

“What?” Peter sat up in frustration. “Thirty-seven minutes! That is insane! I cannot take this anymore. I gotta get out of here.” He jumped down from the container and went back into the one he came from. “There has got to be something in here that I can use.”

He dug through whatever the bird man put in his backpack, pulling miscellaneous weapons and items from it that could probably be sold for a fortune. He suddenly recognized something and pulled it out.

“Huh? Hey look, its just like the glowy thing,” he said, picking up the weird looking thing.

“That glowy thing is an explosive Chitauri energy core,” Karen replied. Peter stood to his feet and dropped it immediately.

“Woah! Woah! Woah! You mean we have been carrying around a bomb?”

“It would require radiation to transform it into an explosive state,” Karen said as Peter pulled out his phone to call Ned but there was no connection.

“No, no, no, no, no.” He grabbed all his things and exited the container. He webbed himself onto the wall. He banged his fists on the wall in attempts to get it open. Then he glanced over at a box on the wall. “Karen, you have to help me open that time lock.”

He hung upside down as he tried to solve the combination to open the door of the vault. He pulled out his calculator and hooked it up to the wires. Then he pulled out a notepad and paper and began writing equations.

“Okay Karen, lower the voltage and run it,” he said, punching it into the calculator.

“Trial unsuccessful.”

“Okay, we are just going to have to try every sequence,” he explained, crossing off the top one.

Back at the hotel, Ned pace around the room. Y/N knocked on their door and he jumped in surprise. “Ned, Peter. We are going to be late.” Ned sighed and ran over to the bed, grabbing the glowy thing and shoving it into his pocket before leaving the room.

“Initiating trial two hundred and forty-seven,” Karen said as Peter typed in the numbers. The vault door began to open.

“It worked! It worked!” He swung out of there and jumped onto a traveling truck, allowing it to take him in the direction he desired.

At the decathlon, Mr. Harrington numbered off all the kids. “Where’s Peter?” Y/N looked up with saddened eyes. “Flash, I guess you’re up.” The team continued to switch out students as the decathlon went on. Near the end, Mr. Harrington chose the final five. It was up to them to win.

Ned, Liz, Y/N, Michelle, and Flash all took their seats on stage. Another school’s final five students entered the stage on the other side. “We have now entered sudden death. The next answer, wins the championship,” the lady announced. The question was given and Michelle reached out and rang her bell. Everyone looked her way. “Midtown Tech?”

“Zero,” she stated.

“That is correct,” the team rejoiced. They all leaned over and hugged Michelle before being awarded with the trophy.

“Karen, you have to get me to the decathlon as fast as possible. I have to be there. I cannot let Y/N down,” Peter said as he rode on the back of a truck.

“Sure thing, just tell me where it is?”

“Right across the street from the Washington Monument,” he said. He called Ned but he didn’t answer, probably because he was still at the decathlon. “Ned, call me back! The glowy thing is a bomb!”

In celebration of their win, Mr. Harrington took the kids to the Washington Monument. Flash made his way over to Y/N, nudging her arm with a smirk playing on his face.

“I told you we didn’t need Peter.”

“You didn’t even answer a single question,” she said. Flash rolled his eyes and walked ahead of her, the trophy in his hands. Everyone made their way inside, all except Michelle, who chose to stay on the ground.

Ned pulled out his phone and saw all of Peter’s missed calls. He decided to call him back. “Oh Ned, you’re alive!”

“Peter! Are you okay?” Ned whispered.

“Ned, Ned, Ned. The glowy thing! The glowy thing!”

“Don’t worry, its safe,” Ned insisted whilst putting his backpack through the scanner.

“No, Ned. Listen–”

“You missed the decathlon! We are at the Washington Monument–” before Ned could finish his sentence, Y/N had grabbed Ned’s phone from his ear and put it to her own.

“Peter? Is that you?”

“Oh, hey Y/N,” Peter said.

“Is that Y/N?” Karen asked, momentarily pausing their call to talk to Peter.

“Please put Ned back on the phone,” he said to Y/N. He jumped off the truck and began running towards the Washington Monument.

“You should tell her how you feel,” Karen suggested. Thank god, Y/N couldn’t hear her.

“You are so lucky we won,” Y/N told Peter. “I wanna be mad but I am more worried. What is going on with you recently?”

“Y/N, I have to talk to Ned. It is really important,” Peter pleaded.

The security guard told her to put the phone on the belt so it could be scanned. She did so and as soon as it entered the monitors, the connection was lost.

“Y/N? Y/N! Dammit,” Peter cursed as he ran as fast as he could. The team got onto the elevator and began riding it up to the top. Peter continued to run and he threw his backpack onto a tree, webbing it there so no one would steal it.

As they neared the top, the security lady began to explain some information about the monument. In Ned’s backpack, the glowy thing began to glow even more and soon ripped a hole through his backpack. It shot straight up into the ceiling of the elevator, as it exploded. The elevator stopped.

Peter made it to the base of the monument and looked up to see the explosion from the outside, a layer of bricks bursting from the monument and falling to the ground. “No, no, no, no, no,” Peter said. “Karen, what is going on up there?”

“The Chitauri core has detonated and caused severe structural damage to the elevator,” she said.

“My friends are up there,” Michelle pointed out.

“What? Uh, don’t worry ma'am. Everything is going to be okay,” Peter insisted. He ran off and launched himself off the ground, landing on the side of the monument. He began to climb it as fast as he could.

In the elevator, Ned dropped his backpack onto the floor. Everyone looked up to see the damage, the ceiling of the elevator was hanging on by a few threads. A few false moves would send the elevator plummeting to the ground. “Stay calm everyone,” Liz said.

“We are all going to die here,” Abe noted.

“Nobody is going to die,” Y/N reassured them.

On the outside, Peter climbed and climbed. “Estimating ten minutes before catastrophic detonation,” Karen told Peter.

“I know that was scary but don’t worry. Our safety systems are working,” the lady in charge told them.

“Safety systems are completely failing,” Karen said.

“We are very safe in here,” the lady reassured them.

“The occupants are in eminent moral danger,” Karen added. Peter panted heavy as he forced himself to go higher and higher.

“I am going as fast as I can!”

Inside the elevator, they all carefully opened the emergency hatch. They sent one kid up, seeing as though they were only a few feet away from the door. The security guards at the top opened the newly shattered door and reached down to grab one of Peter’s classmates, helping her to safety.

“You now have one hundred and twenty five seconds until catastrophic failure,” Karen announced.

“What? Why?”

“Unexpected motion has caused the deterioration to escalate,” Karen said, giving Peter a scan of the elevator.

“How do we get it?”

“Activating riconoscesse drone.” A small drone came out of the emblem of his suit, looking him in the eyes before flying away.

“Has that been there this whole time?”

“Locating optimal entry points. Proceed to southwest window,” Karen instructed.

“I am on my way.” Peter jumped onto the other side of the building and continued to climb until he had it to the top. He pressed his head to the building and held on for dear life. He slowly turned around, his back on the building. He leaned forward and looked down before getting scary and moving back.

“What is wrong? You reached the southwest window. Why are you hesitating?”

“I-I have never been this high before,” he slowly scooted his way over to the ledge of the window.

“You have also not reinstalled your parachute so a fall from this height would mostly be lethal,” Karen pointed out. Peter turned around again and let his foot drop down to hit the window.

“Why is it not breaking?” He asked in frustration.

“It is a special kind of ballistic glass. You will have to create more momentum.” Peter webbed the building and leaned back, he pushed off the monument and hit his feet against the window. A small crack appeared on the glass.

He barely even noticed the U.S helicopter fly towards the monument. “Identify yourself,” the ordered over the coms. Peter looked back at them, seeing the guns in their hands.

“My friends are up there! My friends are in there! Stop,” Peter begged.

“Return to the ground immediately!”

Inside the elevator, they had Liz go next, hoisting her up out of the elevator. The only people left where Flash, Ned, Y/N and Mr. Harrington. On the outside of the building, Peter closed his eyes.

“Karen,” he said, blocking out the constant calls of the officers behind him.

“Yes Peter?”

“Give me a scan of the elevator. Tell me if Y/N is inside.”

“Sure thing.” He waited a second for her to reply.

“Is she up there? Is she safe? Is she okay?”

“I’m sorry, Peter. She’s inside the elevator,” Karen said sorrowfully.

“No, no, no, no, no.” Peter climbed higher, reaching the very top of the monument. He looked back at the helicopter.

The security guards helped Flash out of the elevator. The elevator jointed, another wire breaking in the process. The pulled him out as fast as they could.

“I’m gonna die,” Peter said to himself before jumping off the building. He used his web wings to fly over the helicopter then he webbed the rail on the helicopter ands swung into the window of the monument, breaking it open. The wired on the elevator snapped and it began to fall with the people still inside.

Everyone screamed as Peter webbed a ricochet web, allowing it to bounce off the walls of the elevator shaft and travel down towards the elevator. It grabbed onto the elevator and Peter struggled to keep it up, his feet propped up against the doors to steady himself from falling as well.

“I did it!” Suddenly the doors broke and Peter plummeted down towards the elevator. The elevator stopped on some debris but as soon as Peter fell onto the floor of the elevator, it broke through the debris and continued to fall.

He quickly webbed the ceiling of the shaft and dug his feet into the ceiling of the elevator, allowing it to stop. As he hung upside down, he looked around at the people in the elevator and his eyes settled on Y/N.

“H-Hey. H-How are you doing,” he said cockily. “It’s alright. I got you. It’s going to be alright.”

“Yes!” Ned exclaimed, almost jumping around.

“Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Quit moving around,” Peter pleaded.

“Oh, sorry.” Peter slowly began to pull of the web, easing the elevator back up to the top of the monument. The webbing strained against the roof of the shaft. Soon, the elevator reached the top and the security guards helped everyone out of it.

“Alright, this is your stop. Everyone get out,” Peter said, knowing he couldn’t hold it for much longer. YN was the last of the get out and as soon as she moved, Peter’s feet broke through the ceiling of the elevator.

Y/N screamed and quickly jumped. Peter held out his hand and webbed her wrist, holding onto her as the elevator disappeared deeper into the shaft.

“You’re okay. You’re okay,” Peter reassured her. He pulled her up by the web and grabbed her hand. “Its okay, I got you. You’re going to be okay.” He helped her to safety. Everyone was safe.

Y/N stepped back and looked the Spiderman in the eyes with disbelief. Her mouth stood slightly agape. He gently let go of her hand.

“Is everyone okay?” Y/N nodded her head.

“This is your chance, Peter. Kiss her,” Karen ordered. Before he could do anything, the webbing broke and Peter fell down the elevator shaft. Everyone watched his body fall.

“Thank you,” Mr. Harrington yelled.

“I’m good!”

“Just play the damn game with me !” - Batmom x Damian

Damian is a brat, but I kinda want to hug him to death…Wait…Oh well, anyway, here’s a little story where Batmom (you) really wants to bond with the kid.

(My masterlist blog here : https://ella-ravenwood-archives.tumblr.com)

_____________________________________________________________________

You had gotten it printed into your brain. It was too late now, you couldn’t forget your idea, no matter what. Bruce knew, and didn’t try to stop you from doing what you were gonna do anyway. Besides, he thought it was cute.

What was your idea ? Simple. Damian never had a normal childhood. He was still a kid, only eleven…So he still had a chance at having somewhat of a normal childhood (if you put his nightly activities on the side…and the fact that he had been raised to be a killer).

Against all odds, you and Damian clicked pretty fast. He warmed up to you the fastest…He felt like you were the only one of the bat family not judging him in any way.  Also, you told him off when he was going to far, and he found that he couldn’t speak badly to you, that you had an effect on him that made him want to be nicer. Better…In a word, you quickly became his mommy.

He never really had an actual mother. Talia wasn’t exactly loving with him, and she did try to kill him a few times, succeeding once (a memory you don’t like to remember). You were the first one, even before Bruce or Dick, to make him feel loved and to make him feel what love really was…How could he resist that ?

The first time he called you “mom”, not “mother”, “mom”, you cried, and the poor boy thought he did something wrong. You explained to him that it was “happy tears”, but you’re not sure he understood. He gave you an awkward hug, and you couldn’t stop but smile. It’s that exact moment that forged the idea of trying to show him what a normal childhood was. But, even though he considered you his mom, he wasn’t going to make things easy for you and your plans.

Y/N Pov

Sweat dripped off your face, occasionally mingling with a tear as the two droplets mixed together and left tracks on your face. The gym was essentially empty, especially considering it was almost midnight, aside from the employees and the one middle aged man on the opposite side of the room. You were lucky that this particular gym stayed open until midnight on the weekends. Lena cast a concerned glance your way every ten minutes or so, or rather whenever she looked up from her paperwork at the front desk. You had been there for several hours, stopping only when you absolutely needed water or a rest, and the young woman was beginning to worry for you. The music was turned down low, a soft hum, overpowered by the satisfying thud of your gloves against the leather bag hanging in front of you. Jab, cross, uppercut, hook, hook, uppercut. You chanted in your head repeatedly, your body following through the motions as you repeatedly punched the bag in front of you. The massive black bag swung slightly from the power with which you hit it, and you became so focused on beating the shit out of it that you stopped paying attention to anyone and anything around you.

How could you be so stupid? Jab, cross, uppercut, hook, hook, uppercut. How could he be so stupid? Jab, cross, uppercut, hook, hook, uppercut. The events from earlier that day flashed and swirled behind your eyes, reminding you of the text messages that started it all. The way that he had completely disregarded how you would feel. Gritting your teeth, you swung at the bag harder, panting with effort. With a jolt, the bag swung backwards from the force of your hit, and you reached forward to grab it, resting your sweaty forehead against the leather and closing your eyes to take a breath. You took several shallow breaths, swallowing thickly to take in more air. There was absolutely no point in being angry. Even after years of being friends, Taehyung still couldn’t figure out that you liked him. You thought that by this point it would be obvious, considering every time he went on a date or talked about another girl you got a bit jealous. It was childish yes, but you couldn’t believe he still hadn’t figured it out.

A fresh wave of anger rolled over you as you remembered what he had said this time. “Princess syndrome” he had called it. Ignoring the protests from your legs and arms, you let go of the bag and sank back into your stance, rolling your neck and shoulders as you got ready to start your next round of punches. You took a deep breath before resuming your assault of the leather bag in front of you, brows furrowing in concentration, knuckles rubbing against the insides of the gloves despite wearing wraps.

“I didn’t know you boxed.” A deep voice spoke, startling you slightly as you went to deliver a cross. You chuckled dryly at his comment.

“I guess there’s a lot you don’t know about me Taehyung.” You replied, a hint of bitterness lacing your words. If he noticed it, he didn’t say anything. Out of the corner of your eye you could see him standing there, arms crossed as he watched you. Damn him. Why the hell did he always have to look so fucking attractive? You were supposed to be mad at him and then he shows up looking like a damn model. Shaking your head at your own thoughts, you delivered a particularly strong hook to the punching bag in front of you, the sound music to your ears. “How’d you find me anyway? I doubt you did it by yourself.”

Taehyung clenched his jaw ignoring the obvious jab at him, gritting his teeth before answering.

“Jimin.” Was all the boy said, his eyes locked on your figure as you landed blow after blow on the bag in front of you. You looked tired, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. He could see it by the way your shoulders seemed to sag more and more after each punch.

“Bastard.” You muttered, cursing your other best friend under your breath between pants.

“Why did he know and not me?” Taehyung asked, failing to hide the slight edge in his voice. As if he realized how his question sounded he added quickly, “Or the rest of the boys for that matter.” You grinned to yourself, recalling how Jimin had discovered that you were a boxer. Grabbing the swinging leather bag, you smirked at the boy beside you.

“Who else do you think taught him?” You quirked your eyebrow teasingly, momentarily forgetting you were mad at the boy next to you. Taehyung’s eyebrows raised in surprise, recalling how Jimin had decided to try boxing before their Danger MV. Something about a more accurate portrayal. Even after the video was done, he had kept up with it. The others had always assumed it was simply because he liked it, but now Taehyung realized that it was because of you. It was simply a bonding activity with one of your best friends.

Staring at the boy in front of you, you finally took a moment to really take in his appearance. He was wearing a beanie, something that you felt should be illegal, and was dressed in his usual model-esque fashion. Clenching your jaw, you stopped yourself. You were mad at him, you reminded yourself. Eyes hardening, you angled your body back toward the bag and were readying yourself to punch again when a large hand grabbed your wrist stopping the motion of your arm. Your eyes trailed from the soft hand that had your wrist firmly in its grip, up to the brown eyes you had come to care for so much. Your lips parted slightly in shock at the situation you had found yourself in.

“Can we talk?” He asked you sincerely, his eyes searching yours for answers. You bit the inside of your cheek before you pulled your wrist from his hold, him easily letting you go.

“What’s there to talk about Tae?” You asked him, not meeting his eyes as you undid removed your hand from his grip, pulling your arms into your chest.

“Y/N, come on. We need to talk about what happened in the Group Chat today.” Taehyung said, making no move to stop you again as you returned to your punching combination.

“There’s nothing to talk about.” You replied shrugging at his words as you delivered a solid right hook to the bag.

“You blowing up at me is nothing to you?” Taehyung scoffed in disbelief. You tensed and shot him a glare.

“That’s not what I said.” You grit out, eyes blazing as fresh waves of anger and jealousy rolled over you. Taehyung scoffed again, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at you.

“Oh really? Because that’s what it sounds like you said.” His words snapped something inside of you. With a frustrated and guttural groan, you slammed your fist into the bag in front of you. Taehyung stiffened in surprise at your actions, you had never seemed this angry, or violent for that matter, before.

“That’s just it! You never fucking hear what I say!” You glared at the boy in front of you, your E/C eyes meeting his warm brown ones, the fire slowly freezing over and turning your glare cold. Not waiting for a reply you spun on your heel and stalked over to the bench where your bag sat, unstrapping the leather boxing gloves and throwing them on the ground.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Taehyung threw his hands in the air exasperated, following you over to the bench, an irritated expression gracing his usually jubilant features. You rolled your eyes at his ignorance.

“Oh! And let’s not forget what you said to me. ‘Princess syndrome’ I believe is what you called it, oh and petty and stupid too.” You sneered, reaching down to grab your previously discarded gloves and throw them inside your gym bag.

“Hey! You blew up at me for no reason first. Remember?” Taehyung retorted, his deep voice not holding any of its usual warmth. You froze at his words. Did he really have no idea why you reacted the way that you did?

“You really don’t get it… do you.” You mumbled, the break in your voice barely audible as you gingerly ran your fingers over your raw and reddened knuckles, turning to face him. Despite being wrapped, your several hour-long stint with the punching bag had left the tops of your knuckles red and raw, and a few of them were bleeding slightly. In hind sight, you probably shouldn’t have spent the first half an hour with the bag sans gloves, but you were in such an emotional rage that you didn’t care at the time.

“Damn it Y/N!” Taehyung slapped his hand against the wall next to him, causing you to jump slightly. He looked down at you, his height advantage, although small, making him even more intimidating. His eyes were blazing in anger and annoyance, but upon seeing you flinch they immediately softened. Dropping his hand, he followed your eyes to your knuckles, swearing under his breath. He reached for your hand slowly, but you drew your hands back into your chest.

“Don’t.” You told him softly, still not meeting his eyes as you slowly began to unwrap your fists. The anger he had felt previously now mingled with the feeling of hurt that had blossomed inside of him. First you hadn’t told him about what was obviously a large part of your life, and now you wouldn’t even let him help you.

“Why? What the hell did I do? Huh Y/N? What did I do?” Taehyung fired off his questions at you, his voice rising with each statement. You glared at him eyes blazing.

“You really don’t know?” You asked him, your voice barely a whisper. Although if you listened closely, you would be able to hear the note of sorrow that was buried beneath your words. Taehyung looked at you bewildered.

“If I knew, we wouldn’t be having this conversation!” He exclaimed, running his hand through his light brown hair in frustration. You looked at the boy in front of you. Even when he was angry he was undeniably beautiful. From his hair to his boxy smile that you adored so much. To the times that the two of you sat on the couch for hours binge-watching Anime. To the times that he had come to tell you all about a date that he went on. He was clueless about how much you cared about him. He had no idea how much it hurt when he ranted and raved about a date, how whenever he talked about how hot a girl was you would look her up on social media and compare yourself. How it felt like a knife in your chest whenever he came home from a date with a huge smile on his face.

“Why did I have to fall in love with an idiot?” You mumbled to yourself, not noticing the way that Taehyung’s shoulders tensed at your words. As soon as you realized that you had said your thoughts out loud your fingers stopped idly unwrapping your wrists and your eyes snapped up to meet his. The two of you stood wide-eyed and frozen for a moment before anyone spoke.

“What did you say?” Tae stuttered, his husky voice wavering in shock. You shook your head rapidly.

“I’m sorry. I just can’t get hurt anymore. I fucking can’t Tae.” You responded, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. He knew. He fucking knew. Your friendship was over. The two of you stood staring at each other for a moment in silence before Taehyung turned around and walked away. Your eyes glazed over in tears and you sank down to the floor, forgetting about the rawness of your knuckles and your half-undone wraps, drawing your knees to your chest and wrapping your arms around them. You took shaky breaths as you sat on the gym floor. Your skin was salty with dried sweat and your face was now streaked with tears as your shoulders shook, heaving with each sob.

Without warning, someone gently took your half-unwrapped fist in their hand and continued to unwrap it. At first you assumed it was Lena, but the hands were too large, and far too warm to belong to your friend. Your spine stiffened and you slowly removed your head from its place nestled between your knees. Taehyung was crouched in front of you, gingerly unwrapping your fist, his gaze trained intently on your raw knuckles. As the wrap dropped to the floor, you watched mesmerized as the boy in front of you reached beside him to grab the wet towel he had brought over and sat on the bench, using it to dab softly at the raw skin.

The two of you sat in silence as he cleaned and wrapped your knuckles with a roll of gauze he must have gotten from the front desk. After securing the wrapping on your right fist he brought your hand up to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your hand. You stared at Taehyung, your mouth dropping open slightly. He smiled his boxy smile, the one that you loved so much, at your expression.

“Why did I have to fall in love with an idiot?” He asked you softly glancing down at your now bandaged fists pointedly. You opened and closed your mouth at his words, as Taehyung’s eyes were trained on you.

“I…” You trailed off, “I thought you left.” You admitted pulling your hand up to wipe the streaks of tears from your cheek. Taehyung softly grabbed your hand, moving it to the side before he used his large hand to cup the side of your face, thumb wiping away a stray tear.

“I’m sorry for what I said.” He muttered softly to you as you unconsciously leaned into his palm. You gave him a half smile.

“I’m sorry I blew up at you…” Your voice trailed off as you bit your lip trying to regain control of your emotions. Taking a shaky breath, you looked over Taehyung’s shoulder, focusing your gaze on the one of the punching bags suspended over the gym floor. “Every time you talk about a date, or a girl, it felt like someone was punching me in the chest. I would compare myself every chance I got, trying to understand what was so great about them.” You chucked dryly, shaking your head at yourself, “I know its petty and stupid.”

“Y/N, I’m so sorry that I didn’t say anything to you earlier. Fuck, I’m sorry that I didn’t notice how upset you got whenever I talked about a date.” The deep voice of the boy in front of you drew your eyes back to him. He glanced down at your hands shaking his head in disappointment and disgust. “And now you’re hurt because I was a dick and you decided to take out all of your emotions on a punching bag.” You quirked the corner of your lips at his words.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I box.” You said sheepishly. Tae looked at you in disbelief, your eyes widening as he threw back his head and laughed.

“How about we make it up to each other.” He suggested, a soft smile overtaking his features, watching you intently as he spoke, “Over dinner? Tonight?” You bit your lip as you stared at the boy you loved, his smile growing at your answer.

           “It’s a date.”

Kids were usually afraid of him and the ones that weren’t afraid, their parents wouldn’t let they get close. Bucky knew how much you liked kids and seeing you with your nephew at dinner last night warmed his heart.

During the dinner you kept doing silly faces to Julian and telling him little secrets. This opened something in his mind that he never thought that he would have again, the possibility of a family.

You were so happy yesterday and he wanted to make you happy even that he was terrified. After your mother left the room, you pull him into a tight hug “We are gonna have so much fun.” You whisper in his ear, he can feel how excited you are and somehow this makes his fears disappear.

If looks could kill, Jeon Jeongguk would be on the ground and frothing at the mouth right now.

But instead, he was smiling down at the bitch who was busy rubbing her tits all over his arm as he walked over your way in the cafeteria. Her arm was looped around his, as she hung like a koala onto him, her chest on his bicep as she hugged it toward her torso and giggled along with the other nurses who were busy chatting with your man.

Said boyfriend, oblivious to the daggers you were mentally stabbing into his eyeballs, was in the line for the hospital lunch. It wasn’t technically all his fault for being cute. It was the reason you decided to keep him, anyway, among other things. But it bothered you a ton when other girls noticed it.

The Weaver

*continues to throw things at you because Reasons, mostly to do with the fact that this is awesome*

There was once a girl at Elsewhere who spoke to spiders.

She would study their webs, snapping pictures with her cheap instant camera and, later, studiously recreate them with graphite and ink. For the first eight weeks of freshman year her roommate hated spiders, then one evening she opened the door to see ‘him’ feeding the tarantula that had taken up residence in one corner. She never mentioned the odd teeth or the hollowness of his back, and quietly moved all the iron out of the room, bit by bit (except for the bracelet she wore and the old washers she hid in her pillows).

That was when she started weaving.

As a child she had been the one who came home with muddy shoes and dirt smeared on her face and clothes, only willing to take a bath when her father (single, divorced, but still won sole custody - a rarity in 1960’s America) demanded it of her. She grew into the girl in the oversized sweaters that were as comfortable as they were ugly, the sleeves stained with food, ink, and occasionally blood, and never paid attention to what anyone else said - mostly because she never heard. The bloodstains might have been from picked pimples and accidental nicks from the whittling knife she kept hidden in her shoe, but nobody else knew that, and she was a tall girl - six feet even - with the broad shoulders of a swimmer whose father taught her how to punch and kick and scream. So when she went to Elsewhere, the textile industry was the last thing on her mind. She wanted to be an artist, to carve stories and emotion out of wood blocks.

But then, on her first day, she found a large, hairy, potentially deadly spider sitting on her not-yet-made bed when she came out of the bathroom. She shrieked, of course - the spider was nearly the size of her pillow - and grabbed for the plunger next to the toilet (school plumbing was always going to be shit, no matter what school it was). She did not, however, try and hit the spider - don’t hurt the animals, even the bugs was one of the first things the told you at Elsewhere, right after wear your iron and keep salt in your pockets.

So instead, she took a nervous step forward. “Do you need help?” she whispered.

The spider didn’t nod - couldn’t - but the feeling brushed past her face like faint tendrils of web. Yes.

She swallowed nervously. “What do you need?”

The feeling brushed past her face again. Take me.

Her face blanched as certain meanings of the phrase came to mind as she immediately tried to scrub the images away because oh sweet Jesus NO. “Where…where do you need to go?”

Under the hill.

She swore (in Latin) - but the spider rode her yellow rubber plunger to the entrance under the hill, and when she woke up the next day she found a shawl folded neatly at the foot of her bed, made of a strange, silvery material - soft as a daydream and impossible to damage.

She switched her major to textile production that afternoon, and if you needed something stitched or mended, she was always willing - for a price. When she left, she moved back home and started up her own business, taking in customers both humanly and inhumanly strange, accepting payment in oddities as well as in the swipe of a credit card. Everything is handmade on a wooden loom, and everything has its place.

Everything has a story.

“Seventeen Days” (Part 6)

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader (Fantasy/College AU)

Summary: An angel from heaven is sent back to Earth to prevent college senior Bucky Barnes from ending his life. But here’s the catch - she only has seventeen days to do it.

“Seventeen Days (Masterlist)”

“I really want to eat outside, let’s go! I want to be where the people are!”

“What are you, the Little Mermaid? And why do I need to come with you?! Also don’t hold my sandwich hostage, give that to me!”

“The Little Mermaid doesn’t go anywhere without her grumpy crab Sebastian! Also, you promised last night! Your sandwich is collateral, so deal with it!”

His brow furrowing and his lips twisting into a scowl, Bucky stares at you with a downright frightening look, but both of you know that it doesn’t have any effect on you. He learned this last night when the both of you nabbed a private study room to work on the Calculus problem sets. Bucky contorted his face into a series of intimidating glares and stone-cold masks, but you continued to happily gab your way through a problem set.

You happily hook your arm around Bucky’s, which elicits a weird strangled noise from him. “You asked me late at night when I was really tired! You asked when my defenses were low!” he starts to protest as you drag him out of the building.

“This campus is so beautiful, it would be criminal to not eat outside,” you chirp, ignoring the man-child whines of your companion. You’re scanning the college green for the perfect spot to eat lunch, when your eyes land on a familiar figure. A smile lights up on your face and you pull Bucky’s attention to the table where this person sits with two other people. “There. That’s where I want to eat. Let’s eat with them.”

“You know what I mean, jerk”

“Yeah, yeah, punk” Bucky snickers. “No, I haven’t told her that I’m picking her up on my motorcycle. But I told her to not bother with her hair and I texted her earlier to wear pants, just in case she was planning to wear a skirt or somethin’”

Steve snorts when Bucky makes a disappointed sigh.
