8 Ways to Make Your Day Better

1) Clean Up

I know the last thing we want to do on a bad day is clean, but the next time you’re feeling in a bit of a rut try tidying up. A messy environment creates more stress so cleaning up your area will help to make your environment a wee bit better.

2) Have a snack Cranky?

Have something to eat. You don’t need to go out and spend a fortune, but grab something small like an apple or some hummus and crackers. You might just be moody because of low blood sugar.

3) Take a walk Go for a breather!

Clear your mind! Whatever is bothering you is bound to boil over when you’re out in the fresh air. Take a tour around your neighborhood and treat yourself to the sites like you would a tourist. Take the time to admire your favorite local places.

4) Smell a lemon

Both lemon and lavender have shown to reduce anxiety in humans. There’s just something about these scents that calm us down and help clear out our minds. Next time try slicing up fresh lemon and putting it into your water. Or, grab a handful of lavender and hang it up to dry in the kitchen.

5) Turn up the music If you’re at home, turn up the stereo.

Playing loud music has been shown to alleviate stress in some adults. Better yet, sing along! Singing releases endorphins that make you feel good from the inside out.

6) Exercise

Exercising is probably the best thing you can possibly do if you’re feeling down in the dumps. A good workout will have you breathing better, feeling stronger, and standing up taller. There are so many health benefits to regular exercise, not to mention how great your body will look! In addition to all the physical benefits, exercising releases powerful endorphins into your body that make you feel fantastic.

7) Meditate Breathe in, breathe out.

Meditating for only 10 minutes or so a day can have amazing effects on your mental state. Take some time alone with your thought, giving yourself some much needed time to process the day’s events. Regulated breathing will also calm the mind and body.

8) Smile

You’d be surprised at how many good things will happen to you if you just smile. Try looking a stranger in the eyes and giving them a little grin on your morning commute. You’re brightening someone else’s day, so you’re bound to get good karma in return.

Summary: While trying to master a soccer move, you get your ball stuck in a nearby tree. Luckily, a nice stranger was willing to help you try and get it down. Unluckily, the stranger was almost too good-looking.

A/N: have I mentioned how much I love both steve rogers and sam wilson. I’ll probably write something for him after this and the series.

“Spence, come on!”

The genius finally reaches you, leaning on his knees for breath. “For the record, (y/n), I don’t see the point in doing this. I am perfectly capable of defending myself.”

“Sure. Against college professors.” you reply, helping your friend straighten up. He’s significantly taller then you, so when you look up into his eyes, you’re quick to step back. He releases your hands.

“You know I won’t get hurt, right? I’m fine.” he says, taking your chin and making you look at him.

You sigh. “Yeah, I know. I just worry. You’re the only friend I’ve got.”

Spencer smiles softly and pulls you into a hug that you’re glad to return.

You grin. “You look stupid in work out clothes anyway.”
“Shut up, (y/n).”
