if only the quality was better

What's good about having a Venus in Virgo.

Tbh Venus in Virgo is one of the most Forgiving Venus Signs.

Because of their ability to view love so analytically and practically they can easily understand the inner workings of what makes a relationship work. Venus in Virgo has an insecurity about themselves that gives them a very forgiving quality. They believe that everyone can get better and the only way of doing that is by Working at the relationship everyday.

Hey do you know anywhere online i can watch Danny Phantom? I know its not on netflix but i hate searching the entire internet

Personally, I have them all saved on my computer but you can also find them here:

https://www.watchcartoononline.io/danny-phantom-episode-1-mystery-meat (can use adblock, and i recommend doing so. quality is iffy, but it’s a show from 2006 so youre not missing much)

http://kisscartoon.se/Cartoon/Danny-Phantom-Season-01 (again only in 360p but it’s a better website. i think ublock origins works on it as it does for me but i know adblock doesnt.)

Open Call: AFTERMATH Free Zine for TJLCers

Hi I’m Mel I’m a BFA grad, am working on an LGBTQ gallery space, and drew a lot of Johnlock porn. Like many other tjlcers, I was obsessed with Sherlock: I stayed up nights reading metas, fanfictions, Oscar Wilde, ACD’s books, John’s blog, twitter accounts, and watching adaptations, roleplaying, drawing them and loving them.

The finale tore me to shreds: not only was it of poor quality in general, but the creators were brutal and disrespectful regarding the treatment and representation of queer-identifying people. When I saw the suicide hotlines being reblogged the night of the finale it broke my heart. All I could think in my fit of rage at the end is we deserve better. We deserve better than these power hungry men who mock us and can’t write a decent ending, who have to rely on baiting to generate an audience and then fall back on stale, anti-progressive writing.

While I can’t give you as much as I want, we can only do what we can. I want to put together a zine and send it to anyone who wants it. I don’t care about money or putting my name out there. I just want to give back to the community that can outwit the best in TV, and are smart and sweet and fiery and hilarious and have gotten me through, and have absolutely been my favorite fandom.

Spread this please, tag your friends. Anyone can join, it’s all free. Submit a meta, a rebuttal essay, a fanfic, headcanons, poetry, art, comics, photo edits/manips, anything that can go into a PDF to //flavoapis @gmail .com// by Feb 28. I want to start sending it out by March. It’s open ended, I just want everyone to create what’s on their hearts, because for me and probably many others, this is my goodbye to the fandom.

I just want to write a story about Rosie growing up with her gay Danger Dads Dr. John and Sherlock. And mostly I want to see what everyone has to offer/ is willing to offer. Because in the end, the TJLC fandom did something interesting, we made ACD’s Mofftiss’ “Sherlock” ours. WE created the red pants, the modern Sebastian, Translock, smol Sherlock, fawnlock, etc, it goes way back lmao. WE created our own Baker St. legacy, and we can keep creating it.

“Why does only my tumblr keep messing up quality?” I asked myself as I posted this.

I colored this sketch of @edendaphne , a while ago I asked permission and I finally finished it.

I’ll probably probably post a better version if I get a way to fix the messed up quality. Hope you still like it. 😊

Having listened to the entertainment news on the breakfast show I now know that not only did Nick and Harry go to the gym yesterday, but later on Harry kicked an old dog poo across Nick’s landing.

I highly recommend listening (Entertainment news starts around 7.40)

We study something called the ‘Veblen Effect’ in Economics.
It basically means that as consumers, we view the price of a commodity as the index of its quality. So the higher the price of a commodity, the better is the quality of the commodity we assume.

The Veblen effect is true not only for the goods that we buy but also for the way we treat people in our lives.

The more pricey someone acts, the more we feel that they are important and the more we crave for their attention.

On the other hand if someone is always just there, always available, we believe that they have nothing better to do with their lives because talking to you is such a useless thing, right?

This is the soukoku ritual
the soukoku ritual only happens once every 666 years

reblog to offer your soul so that the anime will make soukoku scenes of the finest and highest quality.

ignore and the soukoku ship will burn in hell along with your hopes and dreams.

You probably follow me for fandom reasons, but there won’t be any today.

It would be an insult to those that will be most affected by our election last night to go on today as I did yesterday.

Today, I weep, for those who are terrified and uncertain for not only their quality of life, but their basic human rights.

Tomorrow I fight for them.

Today, I mourn the loss of the vision of an America dedicated to equality and progress. An America that celebrates its diversity instead of spurns it. An imperfect America striving for good, for better.

Tomorrow I fight for it.

Today feels like the end of the world.

But there is always tomorrow.

ASP’s comment that there wouldn’t be enough “conflict” in Jess and Rory being together is so baffling to me. Amy, do you even know your characters? Here is a helpful list, off the top of my head, of places where conflict AND a Literati relationship can coexist (gasp, shocker):

  • Jess being insecure that Rory is turning to him only because other things in her life aren’t going well
  • Rory being afraid Jess will leave her again
  • Being nervous and not talking and instead seeking advice in the adults in their lives (Rory consulting Lorelai? awkward and moving and a long time coming. Jess talking to Luke? are you kidding this would be amazing. Rory and Luke? better and better. Jess and Lorelai? holy shit television gold)
  • Them both having the bravery to give it another shot
  • Having to face the reasons their relationship didn’t work the first time (can you IMAGINE the quality angsty conversations??? jesus)
  • Discovering what’s the same and what’s different in their dynamic after all this time and how it might not instantly be all great or easy
  • Working through the logistics of an actual, adult relationship with someone they’ve known since they were teenagers
  • Literally anything having to do with more than a decade’s worth of fear, insecurity, lack of communication, growth, tension, and love.

For fuck’s sake!!! I’m tired

So you binged. Now what?

1. Forgive yourself!

You binged. It’s over, it’s done. Remember: you are human! It is okay to indulge. Dwelling on your binge will only pull you into a vicious cycle of binging-restricting. One day of overeating will not throw you off.

2. DRINK WATER

Hydration is so important. Drink water upon waking up and continue to drink about 8oz. every hour throughout the day. Water helps to detoxify your system and clear out the toxins (sugar, fat, salt)/reduce bloat.

3. Catch some Zzzzz

Getting quality sleep has been shown to reduce urges to eat high-calorie, high-fat foods. Also, when you have more energy you feel better about yourself and most likely will not have the desire to binge.

4. Eat a protein-packed breakfast

I know, eating the day after a binge may not sound to appealing. But eating a protein rich breakfast (instead of carb heavy) will fill you up and tame your hunger/keep your blood sugar in-check.

5. Get moving!

This is pretty self-explanatory. Exercise releases endorphins and endorphins are the best drug. Don’t use exercise as a means of punishment, but rather a way to do your body a favor. No need to run 15 miles or spend 3 hours on the stationary bike, a light walk will do. Fresh air does wonders!

6. Don’t forget about those micronutrients

Eat those fruits and veggies! The fiber, vitamins and other nutrients will work to clear out your system and give you plenty of energy.

7. DO NOT RESTRICT

I repeat: DO NOT RESTRICT! Restriction, cutting out foods, deeming foods as “good” and “bad” only leads to binging. And the cycle continues…

8. Ditch the scale

Weighing yourself post-binge can be so so discouraging and only set you up to binge more. Put your faith in knowing that one bad day will not totally derail your progress. Give it a day or two and you will be back to normal!

hey

In case you are wondering about whether you should watch A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix (because say, you are a fan of the books and you don’t want to get burned the way you did with the movie), I have only watched the first two episodes and can assure that this is quality shit:

  • It starts out with a dedication to Beatrice
  • Lemony Snicket is a character, narrating onscreen, which is good because a) in hindsight, how was that movie franchise planning on doing that when it became important? it’s much better to do it from the beginning and b) it means some of the best literary devices can be easily reproduced
  • There is a good amount of subtle references to future events and certain initials
  • They really doubled down on the whole mixed-up time period thing to hilarious effect, including a self-referential Netflix joke that I had to pause after because I was laughing so hard
  • Same with every single time Count Olaf says “theatre” or “actor” NPH is a great Count Olaf
  • He has a musical number and it is awful in the best way
  • The Beaudelaires are perfectly cast and also the perfect mixture of charmingly tragic and cleverly witty
  • Especially Sunny she is a GIFT
  • There is stuff that isn’t in the books, not in a “deviating from the plot” sense but in an “adding vital information about what was going on elsewhere that I am VERY FREAKING DANG EXCITED ABOUT” sense

In conclusion this is exactly what you would expect given that Daniel Handler played a major role in it, it’s everything I wanted it to be, please watch.
