Hey dreamers! Can you believe it? One year ago I started working on this project that came from a dream I had and I can’t believe it has turned into what it has. Daisuga makes me the happiest~ o(*^▽^*)o

((Thank you anon for the compliment, ILY TOO LOVE :3))
The battle was over and you could barley keep yourself up straight. Your feet wobbled as you stumbled to the transport airship that was sent to pick the team up from the rubble.
You winced at the tenderness of your shoulder, a HYRDA solider had thrown a rather large knife at your head only minutes before the end of the fight. You managed to dodge it just it time, but in jumping out of the way you slammed into a pile of rocks, hitting your shoulder.
You noticed Steve, Tony, and Natasha walk by you, all showing the same odd expression in your direction. You decided to ignore it.
After everyone was loaded onto the small airship, the doors shut and it lifted off of the ground. You sat in your metal seat and buckled your seat belt.
Pietro, one of your teammates, sat in the seat next to you and also buckled in. You shifted your back uncomfortably, you knew that your shoulder was going to have a particularly large bruise on it come tomorrow morning.
“Did I miss something Y/N?” Pietro asked you, his blue eyes glued to the top of your head.
“No…?” You said, feeling a little self-conscious. You reached up and instinctively tried to find what he was looking at, and that was when you realized: Your hair was shorter. A lot shorter.
It used to cascade down your back, and on missions such as this you would always put it in a long braid so that it was out of the way, which is why you didn’t notice that it was changed.
Your eyes widened as you ran your shaking fingers through your Y/H/C locks, trying to make sense of it all.
You loved your long hair. It reminded you of the times when your mom used to comb it and put flowers in it, it reminded you of a time before you were consistently away from home and on missions.
“Oh, my god!” You said in a broken whisper. “My…my hair!”
You quickly unbuckled and jumped out of the seat, then turned around and used the back of the seat as a reflective surface. Your hair was only down to your shoulders now, all uneven because of how it was cut with the braid.
It was the HYRDA agent with the knife, it had to be.
“It took me so long to grow that out!” You moaned. “Now it’s so short!”
Wanda looked over at you with sympathetic eyes, then peered over at her brother and gestured for him to comfort you.
You sat on your knees and rested your forehead on the seat. Pietro unbuckled and crouched down next to you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders.
“Your hair still looks nice.” Pietro assured you whilst rubbing your shoulder comfortingly. “It doesn’t matter whether it’s short or long.”
You just shook your head, feeling your now-short hair falling over your cheeks. “It’s not even really about how I look…” You mumbled.
Pietro tilted his head to the side in confusion. “Then what is it about?”
“It’s dumb.” You said, not really wanting to talk. “Forget it.”
“No, I won’t.” Pietro said sternly, yet there was still a soft tone laced in his words. “Tell me what the real issue is.”
You lifted your face off the seat and turned to face him with a frown. You rolled your eyes, which were watering, at him. “I…I just don’t like the feeling of my hair being so short. It doesn’t cover as much of my face.”
You were so glad that the other Avengers were not paying attention to your conversation, it was mortifying.
“So, it’s like an insecurity? Having short hair?” Pietro said, his brows scrunched together in thought. Under other circumstances, you would have thought that it was cute.
You sighed, rubbing your shoulder. “I guess. I don’t know.”
Pietro sat back down in his seat and pulled you into yours. “What is there to be insecure about? You’re beautiful with and without long hair!”
You blushed and shook your head. “It isn’t really about the looks as much, but just the feeling of having long hair.”
Pietro’s fingers brushed a lock of your hair behind your ear, and instinctively, you leaned into the touch of his fingers skimming across your skin.
“You are strong, smart, wise, and powerful. You have defeated so many HYRDA agents–I can’t even begin to count them.”
You looked at him strangely. “So?”
“So, you shouldn’t let a haircut be your downfall.” Pietro said with a grin. “Like I said, you look beautiful either way. Just remember that you still look great, and maybe you will even learn to like it!”
You smiled to yourself a little, then leaned over and pressed your lips to Pietro’s cheek. “Thank you, Speedy.”
Pietro pulled at the collar of his shirt, looking flustered. “A-any time.”
