In case you weren’t already aware of it, there is an actual Doctor Who comic where the entire plot revolves around Rory Williams checking his email on the TARDIS and accidentally making all spam messages and malware lurking in the depths come to life. And yes, it’s every bit as hilarious and adorable as that premise sounds.
One of the best gags? A parody of Clippy, the Microsoft Office Assistant, in the form of a “floating cartoon stapler.”
I remember the first time I read this, and being as stunned as Verity when Megatron showed up. Verity’s reaction–there was a weight to it all. This is Verity, who’s been running around with Hunter and Jimmy and the rest of the Autobots. She’s been in firefights, and all this craziness–handling it more or less fine and totally on board to help out the ‘Bots–and then Megatron just standing there floors her into shock. He’s that intimidating.
And then Megatron just turns his head away, like she’s nothing–because she is nothing to him.
I don’t know. It’s one of my favorite moments in the IDW Run. I love it.
