speaking seriously.. I really hope homestuck doesn't become an anime or a manga... the style of humor or design of a lot of anime is.. idk I just can't stand it! and a lot of them tend to be degrading or sexualize girls a lot (even if they aren't ecchi ?? like bnha ?? I mean it's good, otherwise I'd love it but but gosh, it ruins it...) but idk, maybe if it kind of becomes an anime maybe it wouldn't have those things... I kind of trust hussie according to what we have seen but I'm still afraid

When people say ‘Homestuck will become an anime’ they are talking about the fact that VIZ Media is mainly a company that mostly localizes and spreads non-English Media for an American Audience, mostly Japanese Manga and Anime stuff. However, you have to understand a lot of what people criticise when it comes to Anime and Manga is pretty inherent to Japan. If VIZ Media gets an animation team going on to make Homestuck Animations, it doesn’t necessarily have to be Anime-like, they’re simply putting in the resources- But simply because of this association and the Homestuck Anime meme, it’s easier to just say ‘Homestuck The Anime’.

Very young me:

When I was very little I asked what the correct way to sleep was since I saw people sleep on their backs and stomachs. I also asked what I was supposed to do with my arms while I slept. I slept vampire-in-a-coffin style with my arms crossed over my chest for a few weeks because I saw it on tv and it seemed an adequate solution.

I hated stickers/sticker books. The idea that you could only place them once and it was permanent stressed me out. So I never used them.

There was a brief period of time I forgot I could breathe while eating.

I asked all of the women around me what the “correct” thing to do with my hair was - whether I was meant to tuck it behind my ears or leave it covering them. Both ways felt horrible and I wanted to cut it all off. I figured they knew a trick I didn’t.

While learning to write in d'nealian we were given notepads with examples of the letters already printed in. I remember becoming frustrated that I could not identically duplicate the font, width, and curl of the printed letters. I didn’t understand that the practice letters didn’t have to be perfect and thought the teachers who said I was doing well were being patronizing.

One craft project we were given involved making horizontally-aligned vertical cuts into a piece of paper (to look something like a toothed comb). The teacher showed us an example. I spent forever trying to perfect the cuts, make them the same width and depth and evenly space them. My classmates just cut in unevenly at random. They didn’t follow the assignment and it horrified me.

I heard that it was normal for kids to have imaginary friends. I didn’t want to be “wrong” so I decided to make one up. I couldn’t picture a nice enough person to want to have with me daily. I eventually decided an imaginary kitten was close enough.

Once my dad took me to the bank and set me up on the counter. The teller pointed at one of the planets from a display that was hanging from the ceiling. She said “Look! It’s Saturn.” This particular display depicted both Jupiter and Saturn with rings. I said “No, that’s Jupiter.” She argued with me. “No, honey. That’s Saturn. It has rings.” I countered “Jupiter has rings too. It’s also larger and has has the eye”, etc etc. She kept fighting me. “No honey…”. I was getting angry. My dad had to step in and tell her she was wrong. I didn’t know how to stop arguing if I knew I was right.

In first grade we were paired with fifth grade reading buddies. I asked to be exempt because I could already read well and my teacher refused. I made my fifth-grader read to me instead of the reverse because I found the assigned book tedious. She struggled to sound out the words so I helped her improve her phonetics.

I hated the Scholastic Book Fair when it came in. All of the books were below my school’s approved reading level for me, so even if had wanted to read them I wasn’t allowed to.

I hated when the teacher read to the class. By the time she finished her sentence I would finish the paragraph twice. The sound of her reading while I tried to read silently drove me nuts. I started plugging my ears and reading ahead. This got me in trouble.

My speech patterns and vocabulary were such that classmates couldn’t understand me. I carried a dictionary with me to define words when they asked for clarification, because when I tried to rephrase they still couldn’t understand. I gave up trying to make friends.

What was that? Did you want me to post one of the forever-inconsistent portraits of my hot babes? Alright sure, why not.

Edit: I actually kind of want to see people color this. If you’re up for it, go ahead!!

dunkirk is the kind of film you sit on after you see it. at first you’re like, yeah that was a good film. it was a different kind of war movie. then you leave the theater and you start thinking about it, all your favorite moments, the ones that made you bite your nails off. you think about the message and what christopher nolan is really trying to get across with the way he directed it. and then you realize that it’s actually sort of spectacular. because you were in the film. you weren’t just hearing a bunch of dialogue, knowing what someone was going to do next. you were basically living it. between the music and the acting, you were feeling what they were feeling. long story short, if you were unsure of dunkirk at first: sit on it. i guarantee you’ll see the beauty in it.

so I've been having a really hard time with heads and faces recently, especially the head shapes and eyes. Ive been trying to change it up a bit but I just can't get it how I like it and I was wondering if you had any piece of advice? Idk if its a style thing or what but its starting to really frustrate me (for some dumb reason ;u;) Thanks in advance!!

there’s such a good exercise for that, actually! It works especially well with differing the head shapes, but can work for eyes as well! You take your hand a draw a random shape. Then filling it with features. Say, you draw a potatoe-shaped object. It doesn’t have to be precise of anything, since it’s just your carcass.

then, whatever comes to your mind about that shape. You can change it slightly if you want to, or you can leave it the way it is and just draw features (and extra volume to the head if necessary)

here’s just a few examples i could come up with

they are fast so don’t look for too anatomically correct stuff, but you get the idea! Draw a lot of shapes and fill them in.. SOmetimes you should draw many to figure out what fits your character best.

I had the file with quite many shapes somewhere but I’m not sure if it’s on the laptop or pc so..without that. But generally, try it out! It’s not only fun, but can help you decide on the features and differ the shapes. You can do the same thing for eyes as well;)
